Chapter 2

A beautiful young girl, pale skin, long black hair, and wearing a "Southside Serpent" jacket.

"Hey, Tall Boy!" She called out to the veteran of the Southside Serpents.

"Hey, Aasveig," Tall Boy said. Tall Boy is a veteran Southside Serpent that was very close with the current Serpent leader: FP.

Aasveig Mikaelson is still alive and kicking any threats to her territory. And the Southside happened to be her territory that no want should touch.

It has been centuries since she had pushed the Northside people away from her people.

"So, what news?"

"Let's go for a ride." Tall Boy passed the helmet to her. She rides on the back of his motorcycle as they quietly go to Riverdale Memorial Hospital.

To her surprise, she smelled of black coffee mixed with inks and printed papers. Aasveig questioned Tall Boy and this kid standing before them.

"Hah, that's F.P.'s son and legacy. Jughead Jones, you remember?" Aasveig briefly nodded. She remembers when she sent Sweet Pea and other serpents to deliver F.P.'s son a jacket ever since he got himself incarcerated for aiding a Blossoms murdered son. She knew chaos would plague their side soon. That is why to keep their peace, and he made his son wear the jacket until they elected a new leader until F.P. was out of jail.

"We got nervous when you said to meet you at the hospital," Tall Boy told FP Jones' son as he approached them.

"I wondered when you said about the Serpents having my back. Does that courtesy extend to a guy like my brother and a man who's like a second father to me?" Jughead asked them.

"What do you need?" Tall Boy asked, without a second thought.

"Fred Andrews, my buddy's dad, was just shot during a robbery at Pop's," he explained. "The guy was in a black hood..."

"Are you insinuating that one of us or our serpents did that job?" Aasveig scolded Jughead for thinking that her serpents would stoop that low for one Northsiders.

"Yeah, I get it. But some of the Serpents were working for Fred Andrews when he decided to let them go suddenly for reasons of his own. Maybe someone took it personally and went rogue," he explained his theory.

Tall Boy looked at Aasveig for her input. She shakes her head 'No' for she knew everyone's routine.

"That's impossible. We would have noticed someone is going over there, but no one did." Tall Boy answered Jughead.

"But if there is a chance…." Jughead insisted on the theory.

"Look, I don't know what you hear or assuming, but us Serpents and Southsiders don't hide secrets here. You and the Northside's do keep a lot of skeletons in the closet lately. Such as we know that Blossom boy was shot by his daddy Blossom."

That shut his mouth.

"Not much to say. Then you leave it us so we can make it clear to the Northside that the Robber is not one of us." Aasveig said, which Tall Boy nodded.

"Look, you guys know every hidey-hole in town, someone has to have heard something about what went down at Pop's..." he pleaded to them. With how tight-knit Riverdale is, news spread like Southside Serpents had eyes and ears everywhere.

She should know. For centuries, she had knitted up her network webs for her little birds to give her news.

"Alright, we'll knock some heads, let you know," Tall Boy answered calmly, patting Jughead's shoulder.

As he left, Tall Boy walked up to her. "What do you think?"

"Jughead Jones doesn't understand this situation. Ghoulies have been hitting us ever since F.P. was incarcerated. The Serpents are being questioned for whatever authorities they believed got the dirt on us. The last thing we need is them pining us that this criminal is one of us." Aasveig needs to unite the serpents and stay strong if they keep their territory away from the Ghoulies.

"Right." Tall Boy nodded as they walked away from Jughead. "And about F.P.'s kid?"

Aasveig is puzzled, but she owes it to his father.

"For now, we need to watch him since he is still our blood and his." Blood is thicker than water, but Aasveig thinks that is the problem.

You don't get to choose your family.

At Whyte Wyrm, Aasveig deiced to look around while Tall Boy questioned a few members. She looked over her close friend, Sweet Pea.

"Sweet Pea," Aasveig came to his pool table.

"Where have you been? You weren't at school." Those were his two questioned, which she appreciated since he wasn't afraid of what his thoughts were.

"Tall Boy and I are investigating something."

Sweet Pea shot a ball that made a loud Clack sound.

"Investigating, huh. Are the Ghoulies making trouble again? If so, when should we strike?" F.P. was the leader of their whole serpents, but Aasveig is like his advisors or general who ready everyone to fight against anyone.

"Not Ghoulies this time." Aasveig leaned forward and said, "Jones Jr. believes that one of us had shot a close friend's dad, and he actually accused us or other serpents of being the shooter."

Sweet Pea scowled and muttered, "Fucker."

"Now, now," She pouted and patted his head like he was being a good boy. "Ignore that stupid Northside lover boy. After all, if Tall Boy or I find out it wasn't someone here in the Southside, don't 'cha think we should show him proof at how stupid he is?"

Sweet Pea smirked and nodded. "Hah! Please leave it to you. You always had the answer to make us look stupid at our mistakes."

Aasveig smiled as she knew he was saying it in good humor.

As they played, a few people came crashing into the Whyte Wyrm. "You should've seen his face, and he never saw it coming. I wonder if he's dead," the voice spoke out as he went to the bar. "He wouldn't survive that shot, now that bitch is gonna run the show..."

Aasveig tensed out of her body and looked at the person who was bragging to everyone.

Sweet Pea was about to go over there, but she put her hand up, stopping him.

"Stay here..." Aasveig put her pool cue down and went over to him. Tapping him on the shoulder, he turned around to receive a harsh grip on his neck, and he coughed and choked at such a grip.

"Let's talk, shall we?" Aasveig drags his sorry ass across the floor as he tries to loosen her grip, but it is all in vain.

"Tall Boy! * (Whistling from her mouth sounded it out.)." Tall Boy followed her as they took him outside.

THUD!

Letting out a yelp in pain, slamming his back against the wall. "I wouldn't think very carefully about what you say next..."

"What the hell?!" He coughed out when she let go of his neck.

Slamming his head against the wall again, Aasveig growled in a werewolf manner as her eye glowed as compelled the man, "What do you know?"

Later that night, Aasveig had sat down as Tall Boy kept their new friend company in FP Jones' trailer. She sighs as they wait patiently for Jughead to come.

She recognized his black coffee, ink, and printed papers anywhere. Jughead is here.

Jughead walked in.

Placing his helmet on the counter, Jughead saw the two Serpents and badly beaten man tied up in the middle of his living room.

"What the hell, guys?! What is this?!" Jughead gasped. She scoffed and rolled her eyes at him. If he is going to be a serpent, there will be blood, and he will have to get used to seeing it.

"Went out as you asked." Tall Boy explained. "This guy was holding court in the Whyte Wyrm, talking about how Freddie Andrews would let Hiram Lodge's bitch run the show, fire his crew, that it's good he was gut shot." Panicked, Jughead looked at her fingertips of blood since the man had scratches and bruises.

"So, your welcome." Aasveig deadpanned tone.

"And?"

"And... after a lengthy cross-examination with Aasveig persuasion and her magic fingers on the guy. We've concluded he was being a loudmouth," Tall Boy explained, walking closer to the injured man.

"Again, your welcome."

Jughead is speechless and gapping at the scene. Aasveig is started getting annoyed with the lack of his attention.

"This is the part you are supposed to say, 'Thank you, guys. I appreciate you doing this for me." She mocked whispered to Jughead.

He snapped out of it. Jughead can't say. Thank you because he didn't even want them to do this brutality.

"Then why did you bring him here if he didn't do anything!" Jughead exclaimed, with the nerves very apparent in his voice.

The last thing Jughead wanted was for more people to get hurt.

"Wow!" Aasveig mocked him more. "Everything we do, nothing is good enough. First, I thought you would be pleased to know it wasn't us."

"That's not the point! He could kill again!" Jughead argued more.

"Then I suggest you ask your side of town because we did our job here." She pointed that out for him.

"Now you could tell you old man, that's important to us," Tall Boy said. "With or without the jacket, you're a Serpent..." Hearing Tall Boy says to Jughead. As he was lecturing him, Aasveig watched the woods side as she noticed something out, and a nudged waked her up.

"You, okay?" Tall Boy questioned her.

"Yeah, I just remember I had another night shift." She lied to them.

"Oh, goodnight." Tall Ball nodded.

"Night, you two." Aasveig walked out as she looked back to make sure no one was watching her. That is when she started to jog then ran, finally super running.

Aasveig ran into the woods. She throws her jacket to the tree branch high in the air. Her once beautiful pale skin shifts in full black fur.

SLITCH!

Her mind went into an animal. She is faster and more focused on running.

AT the water, rivers flow as her edge of the hill to watch over the Northside lights in their little town. The water ripples slowly show her wolf form.

She barked, and her long ears arched back at her skull at her sight. Aasveig had been protecting her home for years against any Northsiders who would take away her home.

'Let them come.' She thought.

She snarls and throws her head up.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!"

That night everyone heard the howls of the wolf. The Southside had listened to her howling that everyone cheers in their bars, homes, and walks instead of fear. Even the southside serpents gave their version of howls to the Great Alpha.

The Northside of Riverdale heard it with fear and cautions.

Archie heard it and looked outside of his window.

And he is not the only one. Betty, Veronica, Kevin, and nearly everyone heard it.

"What the hell was that?" Archie questioned himself. He shakes his head as he has no time for this. Right now, he needs to find the Black Hood who shot his father and ended him.

Reviews are welcome.

Next, Jughead's first day of school.

Changes in the air that causes tensions between Serpents and Bulldogs.
