Lancer chanted.

Karna quickly went in front of Rias and took a defensive stance in preparation for noble phantasm.

A gigantic gate appeared few meters above Lancer. The doors opened. A large black whirlpool appeared and all the life energy was sucked in it from the surroundings.

The gate would have absorbed a normal human or a low-level supernatural being in it, killing it instantly but Rias was strong enough to resist it. Nonetheless, her mana decreased rapidly.

Rias looked a little bit weak.

Karna looked at her state and realized that he had to do something about this gate fast but Lancer will surely defend against any of his attacks.

He swiftly retreated to Rias, unsummoned his lance, and clenched his right hand in a fist.

"Archer?"

Rias said in a tired tone.

"Can you defend me from Lancer for a minute?"

Karna asked with a smile.

"Yes, I will."

Rias said with determination. She felt relieved that she can be useful to him at last.

Nodding his head, Karna took a step and got in a stance that is ready to punch. Fire emerged and enveloped his fist.

'A noble phantasm?'

Lancer thought. She was waiting for an opening to take down Karna.

"Agneyastra!"

Karna chanted the name of a divine Astra of God of Fire, Agni.

The fire grew in magnitude before he punched in the air towards that large gate.

A fire fist that was created as an after-affect, flew at an extraordinary speed and power.

Lancer was concluded that her noble phantasm will be destroyed once the fire hits it. But importantly, she got what she wanted.

"Soaring Spear of Piercing Death..."

Lancer chanted as she threw one of her spears at Karna that took the form of a red laser.

It hit Karna and bound him in the place, not allowing him to move even an inch. Her first noble phantasm hadn't been taken out and she pulled another one, a monster of a servant she is.

Karna was worried about what might come next, he can most likely absorb a direct attack because of his Kavacha but the same cannot be said to his master.

"... Gae Bolg Alternative!"

Lancer shouted as she threw her other spear towards Karna. The spear was swift and aimed precisely to penetrate his heart.

Karna frowned but much to his surprise, Rias appeared in front of him.

"Don't worry, Archer!"

She smiled at him and raised her hands summoning three barriers made up of her demonic energy. They were red as similar to her hair and were in a way between the upcoming spear and her.

Lancer's spear with great force break the barrier and bypassed Rias as it was meant only for Karna. Her barriers were no match for Lancer's noble phantasm. She got pushed aside on the ground.

Just before, Lancer's spear hit Karna's heart, Agneystra collided with Gate of Skye, causing a massive explosion, destroying the gate in the process. The fire of that divine Astra was strong enough that it managed to destroy a noble phantasm.

While just a moment later, Lancer's spear penetrated Karna's heart.

Though the damage was minimal as the attack grazed through his heart instead of impaling it.

His chest was covered with blood while he also coughed some of it. But even in that state, he stood strong and was prepared to continue the fight.

Rias' barriers and Karna's divine Kavacha managed to save his life.

But...

Lancer was in no mood to continue the fight. Both of her noble phantasms failed to neutralize her opponent and on top of that, her master is calling her back. But newfound respect appeared in her heart for Karna when she saw him not retreating even after being badly injured.

"Archer... how about we continue this fight another time?"

Lancer said. It was more of a declaration than a question.

Karna silently nodded in agreement. He wouldn't pursue her if she won't have any desire to fight now.

"Goodbye!"

Lancer gave a playful wink and quickly left the forest.

Karna smiled, the battle was fun and his opponent strong, that's what he likes.

"Archer, are you okay?"

Rias looked at his blood-covered chest with worrying eyes.

"I am, but I wouldn't deny having some rest right now."

Karna replied with an innocent expression.

"Let's go back then!"

Rias summoned a summoning circle and teleported her and Karna back to their mansion.

While at the mansion, Rias prepared dinner and they ate it together.

"Are you fully healed, Archer?"

Rias asked. She was very worried about him.

"It still hurts, but I am fine. I can assure you that there will be no flaw in my ability to fight enemies."

He replied with confidence.

Karna's wound healed from the outside but his heart was still far from healing. The weapon was strong, the wound deep and the speed at with Rias' mana can heal it was slow.

After finishing the food, Karna left for his bedroom after wishing goodnight to her.

Rias wasn't able to remove the worries from her heart.

"I could..."

She can help him to heal with her ability but it is a little shameful. Her cheeks were red thinking about it. She never tried it with a man so it will be a new experience.

"... well I should! It's just for healing nothing else... right?"

She convinced herself and walked to Karna's bedroom.

In his bedroom, Karna was sitting in a lotus position on the bed, meditating with intense concentration. The meditation calmed his senses and lessened the pain in his heart.

He was wearing just a red loincloth or a langot as he preferred sleeping with as few clothes as possible.

But his concentration wavered as he heard the door opening and sensed Rias' energy.

"Rias?"

He opened his eyes and asked.

"I think I can help you with your wound."

Rias said shyly.

"Oh?"

Karna was not that surprised as devils must have different types of powers. It will be great if she can cast some magic and heal his wound.

But as a surprise to him, Rias removed her dress while walking towards the bed. Her graceful bodacious body barring the parts covered with her bra and panties was all free for Karna's eyes to feast on.

Her body was the finest Karna had ever seen. All the curves and milky white skin managed to light a spark in his heart. Those soft thighs, slim waist, and importantly perfect-sized breasts, in his opinion were the best part of a woman's body, managed to alter Rias' image in his heart. He was now seeing her more as a woman than as a temporary master in a holy grail war.

But Karna was a man of great self-restraint, no beauty can seduce him that easily.

"Rias? What is this?"

Karna asked. He was confused about what is going on.

"My healing ability needs skin-to-skin contact to work ideally so please let me help you."

Rias said as she walked on the bed near Karna.

He unbuttoned her bra and removed her panties, becoming fully naked in front of Karna.

Right now, she was utterly defenseless.
