It was early February and Lady Paige was lying in bed cuddled up with Walter. She'd been taking it easier more and more as her pregnancy progressed. At the start of December she'd scaled back what she was doing as the twins made most physical things difficult. As her husband, Walter found himself having to fill in the gaps, of which he had no problems doing so. If something was questionably more related towards the tenets of a Paladin he'd either postpone it or use his psionics to communicate with Paige to get her feelings on the matter. As January ended they decided they both wanted to just focus on them and Ralph, so Elizabeth picked up all the slack and anything that required judgements would have to wait.
It was the first Saturday and Selanna had awakened them a little early as Paige had moaned a bit in her sleep. After reassuring her that she was okay Selanna lay back down.
"I can't wait for this to be over and we can return to pleasuring each other." Paige whispered. "But I'm just so uncomfortable."
Walter grinned even as he tightened his arm that she lay on, pulling her just a bit tighter into him.
"You know, I might have an idea about that." Walter whispered before kissing the top of her head.
"I'm sorry my love, I don't care what position you can think of, I can't." Paige told him before kissing his chest.
Walter just grinned at first.
"I didn't mean that my love. Let's go get in the bathtub." Walter told her.
Paige tilted her head back and looked at him.
"I just told you no Walter." Paige told him again, getting a little miffed.
Walter smiled and shook his head.
"I'm not talking about that, my love. The warm water helps to ease your discomfort. We're not going to become physically intimate. Call it…meditation." Walter smiled.
Paige seemed puzzled but he saw curiousness on her face and she slowly nodded.
"Let me get Lisa to draw a bath." Paige told him before trying to roll over to get the small bell.
"Leave the bell my love, I can draw us a bath." Walter laughed before getting out of bed and helping her to sit up.
Paige smiled as she watched Walter walk into the bathing room. She stretched and smiled as Selanna moved her head up and laid it on her knees and nuzzled her belly. Paige smiled at the great bird as she reached over and gently hugged her.
"Oh, my Lady. Did you need something?" Lisa said as she entered their room.
"No Lisa, but thank you. Walter is just drawing us a bath." Paige smiled.
"Of course my Lady. Will you be having breakfast here or down in the hall?" Lisa asked.
"I'm not sure Lisa. Probably best to wait and see how I feel after the bath." Paige told her.
"Yes my Lady." Lisa smiled before leaving the room.
A few minutes later Walter walked back out smiling.
"I think the bath is already for us, my love." Walter told her.
Paige smiled and nodded.
"Sorry Selanna, I'll need to get up." Paige told the great bird.
Selanna kind of huffed but pulled her head off of Paige's knees as Walter stepped up and helped her to stand.
They shared a soft kiss before walking into the bathing room. As Walter stepped down into the tub Paige stepped over to a ladder Happy had designed and built for her when she was pregnant with Ralph. It mounted to the floor and could be easily installed or removed when needed. Two rails ran down into the water connected to the ladder. Walter stood there smiling as Paige turned and taking hold of the rails stepped back and down to the first rung.
"I think you got the water at the perfect temperature my love." Paige told a smiling Walter.
Walter kissed her back several times as she stepped down deeper into the water until she was fully standing on the surface of the tub's bottom. Paige turned smiling at Walter, the water just deep enough to cover to the top of the crack of her arse. They embraced a moment before Walter stepped back and held her hands as she moved over and sat down in the water on the small ledge.
Walter stepped up between her legs and knelt down. The water now covered her breasts and up to Walter's sternum.
"Okay, I just want you to relax now, lean your head back if you wish and close your eyes." Walter told her as he took her hands in his.
Paige smiled and nodded as she squeezed his hands while laying her head back.
Walter's eyes turned golden as he stared at the love of his life. Slowly his vision darkened as his mind reached out. This was akin to the telepathy they experienced many times but this time it was a bit different.
Paige felt the familiar touch of his mind on hers and she smiled instantly. She loved the communication they experienced this way. It encompassed far more than words. But this time the touch was different to her. Everything was dark as normal with her eyes closed but slowly a silhouette began to take shape in her mind. Dim grey lines that were slowly beginning to grow whiter. It looked like a hand at first and then there was an outline of a wrist, then a powerful forearm. Paige felt herself smile and then she noticed that she seemed to have a silhouette of her own.
Her vision changed as she looked down and she saw the outline of her breasts and pregnant stomach. Then her legs…bent at the knees and spread wide open.
Then she saw that the outline of the hand and arm had grown until she saw the outline of Walter kneeling between her legs. She tried to reach out but found her movement possible but restricted.
"Because you don't have this ability my love, you are mostly the receptor. There may not be a lot you can do, just relax and enjoy." She heard Walter's voice in her mind.
"I don't understand…I don't really feel my physical body." Paige whispered in the quiet space around them.
"I've felt the edges of this for a little while but hadn't really tried to explore it much. But it seems like today is a perfect opportunity." Walter told her. "Right now our senses are locked on our psychic selves, that's why you can't really feel your body."
"But…" Paige started.
"Don't worry my love, we're both physically safe. If anything were to change we'd know it and either of us can break this at any time." Walter told her before his lips moved in and kissed her.
Paige grinned at the feeling of his soul touching hers in a way that it never had before.
How long they were there in this space where their souls met she wasn't sure.
But her passion soared as they embraced and explored this new connection. She found it almost intoxicating but it made her wonder if Walter was feeling the same since she couldn't really interact. She began pushing at it, wanting to ensure that it felt just as amazing to Walter as it did to her. She couldn't call them orgasms, but whatever they were, they were powerful and rocked her soul in ways she never felt physically.
"Paige, you are pushing too hard, stressing your body. Try and relax, just enjoy." Walter whispered into her ear.
"But it feels so amazing, I want to be sure you feel it too." Paige told him as she kissed him.
Walter smiled in the kiss as his thoughts reached out to her.
"Of course I feel it my love, there is no way not to." Walter whispered in the vault of their minds.
"Wait, something feels different. Why am I breathing so fast?" Paige said as she could feel her body breathing.
Walter frowned as he relaxed a bit and felt her body through their connection.
"You've gone into labor my love." Walter told her before he kissed her psychically one last time.
"What?" Paige said out loud as she came out of the trance.
Walter was still kneeling there between her legs and his hands released hers as they moved to her belly and he refocused his senses.
"Yep, you are in full blown labor." Walter told her.
"Oh no. Walter, you have to get me out of the tub. I can't give birth here." Paige told him.
"Actually water births are said to be more calming and transitional for births. And it would be too dangerous to move you so we'll do it here." Walter told her.
"What?" Paige asked, thinking him crazy.
Walter's thoughts snaked out until he finally felt Ralph's mind.
"Ralph, I need you to go get Toby. Tell him it is time." Walter told him.
"Dad?" Ralph questioned out loud.
"Yes Ralph, I'm communicating to you telepathically. Go get Toby, tell him we're in our bathing room." Walter's voice came to him.
"Oh! Okay Dad." Ralph said as he pushed back from the great table.
"Ralph?" Cabe asked.
"Dad just told me to get Toby. He said it is time." Ralph told him and Allie before he turned and flew for the hallway.
Lisa frowned as she stepped into their bedroom. Paige's breathing wasn't normal, not even for when they were having sex and she saw Selanna was now standing at the doorway of the bathing room with her head pushed through the doorway.
"My Lady, are you okay?" Lisa called out.
"We're fine Lisa, but get me several clean towels and washcloths." Walter's voice called out to her. "You're doing fine my love." Walter told her softly.
"How can you say that? I'm deep in the tub. The twins…" Paige whispered.
Walter smiled.
"They will continue to breathe through the umbilical cord my love. Just like they do now. They'll be fine, trust me." Walter told her. "Oh, that was a strong contraction. I don't think we can wait for Toby."
Paige had struggled through that one still worried about giving birth in the water.
"Okay my love, on the next contraction I want you to bear down." Walter told her.
Paige looked at him. She trusted him with her life but how did he know if she was ready to push or not.
Walter grinned.
"I've been re-studying all the books on childbirth since we got back to the Keep my love. Trust me, I know all we need to worry about." Walter assured her.
Paige smiled as she nodded and then the next contraction struck and she pushed.
Walter grinned as he maintained contact psychically with Paige as he felt and saw the changes happening. Then the head crowned and slowly it seemed to push on out.
"Okay, the head is out, my love. Another big push for the shoulders and our first twin is born." Walter told her.
Paige was panting and then the next contraction hit and she bore down again and the shoulders slipped out. Walter gently guided his child out into the tub and then up out of the water. Paige began crying as Walter quickly cleared the child's mouth. Just as the fluid drained out Lisa pushed in past Selanna with the towels.
"Oh, the first twin." Lisa grinned as she knelt down next to where Paige leaned against the side of the tub.
Their son began crying as Walter put him into Paige's arms. They were looking the boy over just before Walter pushed in and kissed her.
"I love you Paige." Walter told her softly.
"I love you Walter." Paige told him as she cried.
"What about the cord?" Lisa asked.
"For now it is fine, Toby should arrive before long and have a clean scalpel or scissors to cut it with." Walter told her.
"I can't believe how quickly it went this time." Paige told them.
"Well you have been in here a while." Lisa told them.
"How long?" Paige frowned.
"It is nearly lunchtime my Lady." Lisa explained.
Paige looked at her sharply and then looked at her skin and saw how pruney she looked.
"I didn't realize we had been here this long. Can you drain some of the water so I can nurse Tristan?" Paige asked Walter.
Walter nodded as he pulled the stopper and water began draining. He turned on the hot water tap to heat the water some more.
"Come on Selanna, we need you to move." Toby told the great bird. Happy on the other hand pushed through and started grinning at Paige upon seeing the first baby.
"Oh Paige." Happy said as she knelt next to her. She reached out and touched the little boy. "Guys, he's handsome."
"Thank you." Paige smiled as Toby finally got past Selanna.
"Oh, you are in the tub. I thought you were just in the bathing room. How'd the first delivery go?" Toby asked as he stopped beside the tub.
"Very well actually." Walter told him. "We'll need a scalpel or scissors." Walter turned to the umbilical cord. His fingers pulled it into his hands. He focused his mental power before slowly he sealed the cord separating the blood supply inside between Mother and child.
Toby nodded as he opened his bag and pulled out two clamps and the scissors.
"I don't need the clamps. I just sealed the cord." Walter told him.
Toby frowned but nodded as he handed the scissors to him.
Walter snipped the cord even as Lisa wiped down Paige's breasts so she could begin nursing Patrick.
"Are you going to take Walter's place?" Happy asked.
Toby shook his head.
"He did a fine job with the first. Might as well let him handle the second one." Toby told her.
Walter turned and stoppered the drain but let the hot water run for a few more minutes before turning it off.
Tristan had nursed for about ten minutes before he stopped and began dozing. Happy and Lisa took him and wrapped him in one of the towels she brought. It wasn't but a few minutes when Paige's contractions started again.
Toby had been intrigued by the idea of Walter delivering the twins. He knelt there watching as Walter walked Paige through the second birth. And then the little girl was brought up out of the water. Walter quickly cleared her mouth and then they heard her first cry. Paige sat there laughing as she cried. Walter gently handed the little girl to her even as he leaned in with his head and touched their foreheads together.
"I couldn't be happier now if I tried." Walter told her.
"Thank you and the wise Lady for this life." Paige whispered before they kissed.
"Thank you and the wise lady for this life." Walter told her as they broke their kiss. They looked down at the little girl as Paige moved to nurse her from her right breast. "If you really want to call her Patricia, I'll agree to it." Walter told her.
Paige giggled as she shook her head.
"I was teasing about that, my love. What about Rose?" Paige asked.
"Rose, I like that." Walter said as he kissed her again.
Greetings! I hope this finds you all well! Yes, it felt so wrong leaving Circles there and only 3 chapters...but...maybe it will speak again in the future. Never say never, but I'd much prefer to get follow ups to already posted stories. lol I do believe I will be posting Dark Walter next. And I will start it off as I had originally wrote it because I think the opening, revealing the facts of the storyline work so much better, and then after chapter 2 or 3 it will flash back in time to give some history in 2 chapters and then come back to the present storyline...

As I had started writing chapter 3 it was just like, really she was going too far as far as Happy and Sylvester were concerned. And I knew it would take something serious to make her see it. SkunkeeFunk - Thank you! Yep, you found me! hehe I think I've mentioned it a few times, but not positive. I'm really out of ideas of what it would take to get CBS/Paramount to reconsider the show. Tweeting posts using the hashtag #SaveScorpion as much as possible without annoying your friends too much, both on Twitter and IG is really it. We often see the hashtag come up as you type it, which means it is being done a lot, but it isn't enough to reach trending status. It really needs to trend and trend hard, it is the only thing I think that they might listen to.
Pearliegirl - hehe Sorry for any confusions. lol Well there shouldn't be anymore stories like "Quantum Slip", but it is possible Knight's Tale could still jump around. Right now I am working on continuing "Lady Aine"...It will pick up about 5 weeks after the twins left Scorpion Keep.
