A/N: Hello author here. This is the first time I tried to write fanfiction. I am doing this because I wish to develop my writing abilities in English since it is my third language. So there might be some spelling mistakes as well as bad sentence structure sometimes. Please correct me when I make mistakes.

I don't own Naruto

"I'M GOING TO BE THE HOKAGE, BELIEVE IT!" The seven-year-old boy shouted as he stormed off the classroom. The boy rushed as fast he could towards his home. The boy entered the apartment and slammed the door behind him as tears streamed down his face. "Why don't those stupid people believe me?"

Suddenly a knock was heard from the door. The boy went to the door and opened it to find an old man standing there. The old man was of course the current Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen

"Are you here to tell me I'm a failure as well?" The boy, known as the number one prankster of Konoha, Uzumaki Naruto, shouted.

"Of course not Naruto. I came to talk about something." Naruto calmed down a little after that. "The reason why they believe they are better than you is that they have already received some form of training from their respective clan before. They already have their path laid out for them, and what type of shinobi they'll be. For example, the Inuzuka clan are often bound to be trackers, the Uchiha clan are usually front-line fighters and the Yamanaka clan are usually supports."

Naruto looked a little puzzled. "So they have already gotten training to become shinobis?"

"Yes, Naruto. However, as I said, they already have their path chosen for them. But you don't and that's why I'm here."

"You will choose my path?" Naruto still looked a little confused.

"Of course not Naruto. I wanted to let you know about all the different types of shinobis so you can start actual training to become one. There are 5 different types of shinobis that you need to know about. They are Ninjutsu specialists. They are the ones that use the cool jutsus. Taijutsu specialist. They fight in close combat. Genjutsu specialist. I don't recommend this one because it needs a lot of chakra control which you don't have. Then we have-"

"Why don't you believe that I can't become a genjutsu specialist?" Naruto said.

"Because it needs a lot of chakra control and since you have a large chakra capacity it will be hard for you to learn."

"So you don't believe I can do it? You are just like the villagers, AREN'T YOU? I AM GOING TO BECOME A GENJUTSU SPECIALIST AND PROVE YoU AND THE VILLAGERS WRONG" Naruto shouted and stormed off to the streets.

Hiruzen chuckled "I wonder how long it will take until he realizes"

Naruto was walking along the streets pondering about what the Hokage had said. 'He's so stupid, I will prove him wrong. But where should I go when they want to learn stuff? Ah, the library of course!'

"There's no time to waste if I wanna become the Hokage!" Naruto shouted as he ran towards the library.

When Naruto reached the library he was greeted by a Chunin.

"May I see your ninja registration please?" The Chunin said

"I-I'm actually an academy student," Naruto said as he felt a little intimidated by the Chunin

The Chunin smiled "Alright you can go and look around the first floor if you wish,"

Naruto nodded and ran towards the books. "Genjutsu-genjutsu-genjutsu," He whispered to himself while looking at the books. After around 5 minutes of searching, he found what he was searching for.

"Genjutsu practices for beginners," Naruto read. "If you want to become a Genjutsu expert you will need a really good chakra control. So to start off learning genjutsu you will have to learn 3 chakra control exercises. 1 Leaf balancing exercise, you should direct chakra to your forehead to make the leaf stick to your forehead. Well, this shouldn't be so hard."

Naruto took the book and ran out of the library to start trying it. He took a leaf and put it on his forehead. He then started to channel chakra towards it. After a couple of tries, he succeeded.

"YATTA! Alright now to the next one. 2 Tree climbing exercise, start channeling chakra to your feet and try to stick to the surface of the tree. The easiest way to learn it is to run straight up the tree and mark how far you got with a kunai. Well, I don't have a kunai, but I'll try it."

Naruto channeled chakra towards his feet and then proceeded to run up the tree. However, he felt the chakra repel him from the tree. He tried again with less chakra this time. He felt himself stick to the tree better but still failed to make any progress in climbing the tree.

After a few hours of trying he completed the exercise. But by that time the sky had already darkened and he decided to go home.

Naruto woke up early the following day and went to start training again

"3 Water walking exercise. Just like the tree exercise, you will send chakra to your feet but the amount of chakra needed will constantly change because of the water. This shouldn't be too hard then"

Just when Naruto walk onto the water he fell. He tried again and again and again and still failed. After a couple of hours of training, Naruto had made a tremendous amount of progress but realized that most of the day was gone and he had forgotten to get to class that morning. But Naruto had realized that the things they reached in the academy could actually become useful if he wanted to be Hokage.

After a couple of minutes of running Naruto finally got to the academy. When he opened the door towards his classroom he saw his sensei Iruka. When Iruka noticed Naruto pen the door his face quickly reddened.

"NARUTO WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN THESE PAST TWO DAYS?" Iruka shouted

"Calm down Iruka-sensei, I just went for a swim in a river." Narutos story did add up since he was soaking wet

"YOU WILL SEE ME AFTER CLASS! NOW GET TO YOUR SEAT!"

Naruto quickly walked towards the empty bench. Everyone often leaves the bench free for Naruto since no one wants to sit with him.

Naruto sat through the whole class trying as hard as he could not to fall asleep. After the class had ended, Naruto had to sit with Iruka to go through what he missed during the day. Surprisingly to both Naruto and Iruka, Naruto was able to sit through the whole conversation without losing focus.

When Naruto's meeting with Iruka ended he quickly ran back to the spot where he trains. He started doing the water walking exercise and after only a couple of hours of trying he finally succeeded in completing it.

"YATTA. This was a piece of cake. I thought the Hokage said that this would be hard!" Naruto cheerfully shouted. He then quickly started to browse the book for the next step in his training. Naruto then proceeded to read the next paragraph out loud. "Genjutsu, unlike ninjutsu and taijutsu, doesn't affect the physical effects of the body, and instead focuses on the spiritual energy. That is why a Genjutsu user needs to be extremely intelligent to be able to make the illusions convincing. That is why hiding your abilities is a crucial part of being a genjutsu user. With this information in mind, you will be ready to learn Genjutsu.
Demonic Illusion: Hell viewing technique. A d-ranked Genjutsu that gives the target visions of their greatest fears."

'It's finally time to learn some jutsus!'

The sun was about to set after only a couple of hours of training. Naruto went back home and set up a training program that he would follow every day.

But unbeknownst to him, someone had been watching the whole time.
