The investigation went on and they finally were able to make an arrest on the whole KO. Reggie to a plea deal and was allowed to go into witness protection. His mother on the other hand was supposed to go with him, but they later found out they she had someone killed. Which meant new charges were brought up against her.
Olivia and Rollins finally had enough evidence to charge the Robertson parents. Carisi had a very strong case to bring to trial with all the children willing to testify. The judge even agreed to allow the two youngest siblings to testify as well. Olivia took the stands.
Elliot and Bell went to the arragnment for everyone that they had arrested. Reggie's mom somehow was able to sneak in a gun. She took the gun out and shot two fires. The gaurd tried to pull the gun away but she got two shots at Elliot, on in the leg, and one in the shoulder.
Olivia, Amanda, and Carisi were walking down the Courthouse stairs when a guard came down towards them. "Captain!" She said. Liv turned around. The guard told Liv what happened. She was surprised and worried.
Carisi noticed the worried look on her face, "What happened Liv?"
"I need you to drive me to Mercy," She said to Amanda.
The three of them got into a squad car and turned on the lights. Liv explained what happened. Amanda wasn't sure what the status was of her and Stabler's relationship but she knew he meant a lot to her.
They arrived to the hospital where they saw Bell waiting in the waiting room. "Captain," Bell said greeting them.
"Sargent," she said.
"I didn't know who else to call. I thought maybe his kids. But I don't have their info-"
"I can call the kids. What happened? The guard said their was some sort of shooting."
"Yeah, someone snuck a gun into the room. Pulled it out and shots fired. He's in surgery right now. Doctor says he's going to be fine. But he'll probably be out for a few weeks." Bell explained.
"Liv," Carisi said. "We have a problem?" He added. "Stacey doesn't want to testify anymore. She says she made the whole thing up."
"Amanda, go talk to Stacey." Liv suggested. "I'll update you guys."
About 45-minutes went by when the doctor came out. The doctor explained the bullet went through his thigh and hit some tissue but won't do any serious damage. The bullet that went through his shoulder did hit some muscle and would need to be in a sling with some physical therapy afterwards. The doctor allowed Olivia to go see him.
"Heard the old lady tried to shoot you," Liv said walking in. Elliot laughed a little at that comment. Olivia sat down next to him on the edge of the bed. "So are you done with being under?"
"Yeah," he replied.
"So you can finally shave that awful beard." she joked.
"You really don't like it?"
"I really don't." she laughed. She grabbed Elliot's hand. Elliot looked down looking at her hand grab his.
"How's your case going?" he asked.
"It's ok. I testified today, Stacey our key witness doesn't want to anymore. Amanda and Carisi are going to talk to her right now."
"Liv, why are you here?" he asked.
"Do you not want me here?"
"I do. It's just, the way you ended things and then just didn't talk to me, and then just, I'm just confused. Like are we? Or-" Olivia kissed Elliot to shut him up.
"Does that answer your question?" she asked.
"Mmm… I think I need more confirmation." He said going in with a second kiss. "Now I know the answer," He said smiling.
"Look El, I know I ended things between us, but if we really want this to work out we need to disclose our relationship to IAB."
"Ok, whatever you want."
The doctor came in and checked on Elliot. The doctor also explained that he would need to stay somewhere where someone can take care of him for the few days he's home. He'll start therapy sometime next week or the week after. Olivia offered to let Elliot stay at her apartment with her and Noah.
The next morning Olivia and Noah went to the hospital to pick up Elliot. Elliot was excited to go stay with Liv for a few days. Eli said he would stay home and take care of Bernie. He said it would be fine, but Elliot suggested Kathleen stay with them as well until he was back. Noah ran into the room. "Elliot!" He said huggin him.
"Hey buddy!" Elliot said picking him up with his good arm. "How's my favorite 9-year old?"
"Good!"
"Well I'm glad."
"You ready?" Liv asked.
"Yeah," Elliot replied.
"I have to get dropped off at school first," Noah added.
"I was wondering why you were here and not at school."
"Mom said I could go in late,"
"Wow, breaking the rules I see." he said towards Liv.
"It was just this once." Liv added.
They drove to Noah's school and dropped him off. Noah was excited that Elliot was there dropping him off, it felt like he had a father. Olivia drove Elliot back to her apartment.
"I thought you could sleep in my bed, I can take the couch." Liv said.
"What's wrong with sharing?" Elliot asked pulling her in closely.
"Well I just thought," She said.
"Thought what?" He said kissing her.
"I have to go to work," she said in between kisses. "There's food in the kitchen, TV in the livingroom and bedroom. You know the place, make yourself at home." she added. She gave him one last passionate kiss and left.
Olivia went to the courthouse to see the rest of the trial of the Robertson case. Stacey was on the stand. She lied right to Carisi, saying that it was Captain Benson and Detective Rollins who forced her to press charges againts her parents, and that her siblings didn't want to press charges either, but was forced to by the NYPD. This made their case even harder to prove. Clara was up next. She told the truth, she told them everything that her parents did to her and her siblings. She even mentioned stuff that happenes behind closed doors.
Jet was up next. She told the jury what she had found out while she visited the family. The mom stood up and yelled that she was going to hell for what she's done to her family. Jet obviously didn't care and the jury disregarded the outburst. Langan tried calming his client down but it didn't really help.
The jury came back after 20-minutes. They found the mother guilty on all counts but the father was only guilty on endangering the well fair of a child. "Liv," Langan said as they were walking out of the court room. "Good game," He added. "Can I buy you a drink?"
"I wanna say yes, but I have somewhere to be." Liv replied
