To say that the silence between Lincoln and his family was awkward would be an understatement. Currently the aspiring pokémon trainer was looking at his family with much contempt and he decided to give them a chance to explain themselves, as Lori pleaded her case for them.
And he trusts Lori so he decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.
"Lincoln, I'm so glad you're okay!"said Rita, super glad to see that Lincoln was all right as well.
"Yeah, I'm okay..."said Lincoln, not sure what to say to his mother.
"Son, please come home."said Lynn Sr, who wanted his son back.
"No."quickly replied Lincoln.
"That was fast!"said a shocked Luan, not expecting Lincoln to reply so fast.
"I have no intention of going home, at least not yet."said Lincoln, as he still needed to defeat Leon.
"Lincoln, just come home!"said Lisa, in a short of demanding tone of voice.
"No! I am going to Ballonlea City next to earn my next gym badge!"said Lincoln, as he had no intention of giving up his Pokemon trainer goal.
"Lincoln!"shouted Lana.
"Don't Lincoln me! You are the one who blamed me for ripping up your dollar bill when you and Lola did that! And you just stood there when Lola kicked me in the shin!"said Lincoln angrily, refusing to be talked down to by his little sister.
"...Sorry..."apologized Lana.
"Now, what is it exactly that you want to tell me?"asked Lincoln, looking at his parents in particular.
"Lincoln, we're sorry we forgot your birthday party and we're sorry we didn't throw you a birthday party during your milestone birthday. We have no excuse for forgetting your birthday and we hope you can forgive us from the bottom of your heart."said Lynn Sr, hoping that his apology will get his son to come back home.
"We didn't mean to forget your birthday, and when we found out that we did we found absolutely horrible for everything. I hope you can forgive us and hopefully if you want we can do a makeup birthday party."said Rita, also hoping that her apology will convince her son to come back home.
"I except your apologies but I have no intention of going back home anytime soon."said Lincoln, shocking his parents.
"Why?!"asked Lynn Sr and Rita at the same time.
"There's a guy here I wanted to feed in a serious Pokemon battle more than anyone! His name is Leon and I wanted to take his title of champion away from him. My Pokemon and I promised each other to work hard in order to defeat Leon, and I plan to do see this through until the end."said Lincoln, knowing that he didn't go this far just to go back home over some apologies.
He was going to earn all the gym badges and participate in the gym challenge! He was go to work his way up until the top and make his way towards defeating Leon in a serious Pokemon battle, just becoming the new champion of the Galar Region.
"Lincoln, please be reasonable!"said Lynn Sr, wanting his son to listen to reason.
"Yeah, just come home and we'll talk about this!"said Rita, adding her two cents.
"How many times do I have to tell you I have no plans to go home anytime soon as I want to defeat Leon! I have never felt more convinced about something than this before and I want to see it through until the end! I have a bad habit of quitting things when it gets too tough and it has gotten tough but I want to see this through! I want to experience standing at the summit and facing Leon in a serious Pokemon battle!"said Lincoln with determination and fire in his eyes.
This shocked his parents as they've never seen this side of licking before. They wondered who this Leon character even was to even get their son so worked up about something. Was he really that special kind of guy that could make their son push through the limits and reach to see what is beyond that?
"Fine...can you at least stay in communication with us and give us progress reports?"asked Lynn Sr, hoping that his son would at least give his family that.
"I have no problem with that."said Lincoln, just as Lynn and Lola made their way down the stairs.
"That's it! You're not going to yell at him for running away from home! Or for making us worried sick as we wondered where he was! Or for the fact that the entire town is looking at us with suspicion!"said Lynn angrily, wondering why Lincoln was not being punished.
"Lincoln! You need to get your butt on the next playing back to Royal woods and get your butt over here immediately!"demanded Lola.
"No."said Lincoln.
"What did you just say?"asked Lynn as she was cracking her knuckles.
"I said NO! I'm tired of being pushed around by you too just because you two have terrible tempers and are the most selfish people I know! You guys are one of the main reasons I'm here in the Galar Region in the first place, so I guess I should say thank you!"said Lincoln with clear sarcasm in his voice.
"Where has this Lincoln been hiding?"asked Luna, as she never would have imagined to see the day with Lincoln would stand up to Lynn and Lola.
"This Lincoln came out After experiencing much hardship with his Pokemon loyally by his side. My Pokemon and I have been through a lot together and we have faced opponents a lot stronger than Lynn and Lola, so there's no reason to be scared of them anymore."said Lincoln, as compared to Leon and Mustard, they were nothing.
This shocked Lynn and low lies they never would have imagined the day that their brother would stand up to them.
"Big talk for someone hiding on the other side of the world!"retorted Lynn.
"Come by anytime and I'll show you just how strong I've become!"said Lincoln with determination and fire in his voice.
This made Lola and Lynn extremely angry as Lincoln had just dared to challenge them.
But before anyone could say anything else an explosion was heard in the background of Lincoln's side.
"That sounded like it came from the mural! I have to get going and I'll talk to you guys later about everything!"said Lincoln, before he quickly hung up the phone.
That is when the rest of the family glared at Lynn and Lola.
"Dang it!"said both Loud sisters at the same time, upon realizing they're going to get the scolding of a lifetime.
Meanwhile Lincoln made his way up to the top of Stow-on-Side, where the famous mural was located!
There he's all familiar face commanding some kind of metallic elephant like Pokemon to attack the mural.
"BEDE!"shouted Lincoln, upon realizing that his most hated rival was behind this.
