A long time ago I started reading a Pitch Perfect Christmas story that I thought was really sweet. Unfortunately the author was never able to finish it, and I always wondered how it would end. So I am writing this story, to finish the original in my mind, and as a Christmas present for my friend BeChloeIsLegit.

Best Christmas Ever

Chapter 1

Thanks for the Gift

"Come on ladies! We almost lost to a bunch of sock puppets!"

The Bellas all groaned in unison, none louder than the petite brunette, Beca Mitchell. Her scoff was enough to attract the attention of the highly disciplined blonde captain. At her intense glare, Beca returned an overly large exaggerated smile.

"You're all doing great ladies," came Chloe's happy voice, as she continued a long string of pep talk and compliments for the work the Bellas had been putting in.

The rehearsal had gone way overtime because it was the last one before the winter break. The rest of Barden may have started their holiday break, but not the Bellas. After the meh performance at their first official competition, where they really had almost lost to a group of sock puppets, it seemed that Aubrey thought it would be beneficial for the Bellas to continue practicing their routine, right up until the very last possible moment before everyone left for the holidays. This particular practice had been well over three hours, as if the intense blonde just couldn't let the Bellas go.

It also didn't help that the Bellas had had their Christmas party the night before, and Amy had somehow taken charge of mixing the eggnog and a sangria-like punch. The night had been fun, and even normally straight-laced Aubrey had let loose a bit. All the Bellas had enjoyed themselves, even Beca, but the next day they were all feeling it; save for the co-captains who were somehow not feeling the effects of the last night libations.

Because of this, only Chloe seemed unaffected by the blonde captain's marathon rehearsal session, although Beca noted the usually chipper redhead was starting to rub her throat, and showing more signs of discomfort. The redhead must have decided it was enough as she gave her co-captain a gentle look.

With a roll of her eyes, Aubrey hesitated, and Beca thought Aubrey was going to ignore her co-captain. Chloe gave her another look, some mix of pleading and sternness, which Beca was unsure how the redhead was able to pull-off. The silent battle of wills went unnoticed by all the other Bellas, but quicker than the petite brunette expected, the uptight blonde captain surrendered. Beca let out a small chuckle as Aubrey called it. She took some comfort that Aubrey could be overcome by Chloe's, should be illegal, eyes too.

With a sigh Aubrey called out. "Alright girls!"

"Uhg…" Sounds of varied labored gasps for air filled the room in response.

The blonde captain ignored this, though she held off making her final declaration as the Bellas finished the last moves of the choreography, then she yelled. "I think that's good for today."

Most of the Bellas let out a collective sigh of relief at the blonde's announcement, as Fat Amy collapsed to the ground in utter exhaustion. "Oh thank god! My sexy ass is beat," Amy dramatically shouted out as she laid there spread eagle on her back.

"That's one hardcore white girl," Cynthia Rose muttered to Denise as she squatted down to catch her breath. Denise only nodded as she handed CR a towel she pulled from her workout bag, before she wiped her own sweat with a second towel.

"Oh thank god," Beca mumbled as she trudged over to her own workout bag. She wasn't having the best of days, or weeks if she was truly being honest. The weeks leading up to Christmas are always really tough for her, but with her first college finals also wrapped into it, just made the past few weeks that much more stressful. Beca didn't even want to go to college, so she sure as hell didn't want to go through the stress of finals.

But she had gone to college, and her natural competitive streak had meant Beca was pulling all-nighters to make sure she received straight A's. Of course getting A's would only serve to make her father even more smug, which would only make him more insufferable. This of course only depressed Beca more.

With Barden University's winter break already officially begun, most of the campus had begun to feel empty. This had a depressing effect on Beca in an unexpected way. She figured it probably had to do with the fact that this emptiness would be her reality for the next couple weeks. While Beca liked her solitude, it sometimes was just lonely.

"One of you pitches might need to drag my sexy fat ass out of here," the Aussie announced to no one in particular. Beca did grow concerned at how heavily the larger blonde was breathing.

Still no one leapt to Fat Amy's aid; it was after all how Amy tended to end all of their practices. So as Amy remained spread eagle on the floor the rest of the Bella slowly made their way to collect their bags.

"And remember!" Aubrey shouted, which caused the Bellas to pause, "Just because we're all going off on break for the next two weeks, doesn't mean you can slack on cardio. We need to keep up our regimens for regionals next month." The blonde is met with a wave of grumbling at her comment, and something that sounds like "cardio-nazi" coming from Fat Amy's general direction on the floor.

"Oh lighten up Bree, it's the holidays!" Chloe said cheerfully, as she threw her arm around the blonde's shoulders. "Tis the season for feasting on Christmas cookies and drinking eggnog."

Initially ignoring her co-captain, Aubrey stared straight ahead watching the Bellas scramble to leave before any more announcements were made. With a resigned sigh, Aubrey huffed, "That may be, Chloe. But I for one don't want to deal with the holiday hangover that comes with that eggnog and what, undoubtedly, most of the girls will put into it. We've been working too hard to become complacent."

Fat Amy had finally pulled herself off the floor, seeing yet again no one would step up and carry her back to her dorm. She walked over to the two Bella captains, seemingly completely recovered from the brink of death by cardio. Throwing her arm around Aubrey's shoulders, she said, "Despite her soulless nature, the ginge is right, oh fearless leader." The Aussie completely ignored how stiff Aubrey was at her touch. "This is a time for kicking back, spiking your nog and letting loose like a couple of ho-ho-hoes! Like me, heading off to Bermuda with a couple of my boyfriends, to get our Holly Jollies on, if you know what I mean." The boisterous blonde gave an exaggerated wink.

"Trust me Amy, we always know what you mean," Aubrey replied as she ducked out from under the Australian's arm. Everything going on in front of her caused Chloe to giggle.

"You need to let your festive freak flag fly for once captain! Maybe find someone to jingle your bells." Fat Amy winked conspiratorially again. Aubrey just rolled her eyes and turned to retrieve her own belongings. "It's a legitimate form of cardio captain!"

By now most of the girls had packed up their bags and fled the rehearsal room. Beca guessed each was heading off to their winter break destinations. With nowhere in particular to be, Beca found herself in no rush to head out, besides the interaction between Aubrey and Amy had been a bit entertaining. As she put her towel back into her bag, the petite brunette noticed the red haired captain scanning the room. Beca was not surprised when the redhead spotted her she flashed a huge smile. The redhead quickly finished putting on her jacket, tossed the strap of her bag over her shoulder, and then bounced over to stand directly in front of Beca.

"Hey Becs!"

Beca raised an eyebrow at the redhead's chipperness. "Chloe," she groaned, "You have way too much energy for having just finished a brutal three hour practice."

The redhead waved that away with a peshaw, and replied happily, "It's just my holiday spirit spilling over, you know! The holidays make me so excited… Well, that and possibly the two triple espresso I had earlier that's coursing through my veins." Chloe bounced on her heels, while smiling brightly at the younger woman.

Beca couldn't help returning Chloe's smile with her truly patented smirk. "And here I would have thought you'd be consuming nothing but gingerbread and peppermint this whole month," Beca teased.

"Well, I may or may not have also had a gingerbread man and a peppermint latte for breakfast…" Chloe admitted while shyly biting her lip, as if she were a child having been caught with her hand in the cookie jar. Not for the first time, Beca found the redhead to be absolutely adorable, which in turn caused her own cheeks to warm.

To cover this the brunette schooled her features, before giving the redhead another of her signature Beca Mitchell smirks. "That sounds about right."

Chloe didn't seem to notice Beca's blush, and just ignored Beca's smirk. Instead she just continued to excitedly talk about the holidays, "BUT, like I keep saying: tis the season. It won't be Christmas time forever. Which is a shame, because it really is the most wonderful and magical time of the year!"

"Well I'm glad you're so excited Chlo." The brunette responded genuinely, but with a lot less enthusiasm.

Not catching the brunette's lack of enthusiasm, Chloe excitedly continued, "I really am! I just can't wait to go back home and see my brothers and parents." Chloe's exceptionally wide smile was so infectious it actually caused Beca to crack a slight one herself.

"Hey Chloe, I gotta head off," Aubrey said as she hurriedly walked over. "I'm catching a late flight tonight, and need to make sure I have everything packed."

"No worries Bree." The redhead replied leaning in to give the other girl a tight hug. "If I don't see you later, send my love to your parents and the rest of the family, and give them all big hugs for me."

"Same for me. Call you on Christmas day, and have a safe flight back home," replied Aubrey as she returned the hug.

"You too. Love you Bree."

"Love you, Chloe."

After a few seconds, Aubrey and Chloe broke apart from their embrace. Quietly Beca stood off to the side, trying her best not to feel awkward or to impose herself in this moment where the two best friends were saying their goodbyes.

The blonde Bellas captain pulled away from her best friend, but before she turned towards the exit, she stopped and after a moment's hesitation, suddenly turned towards Beca. This caught the petite brunette off guard. The tight-lipped expression on Aubrey's face suggested she was holding back an insult of some kind; it also caused Beca to step back. Before Beca had the opportunity to let loose with her own brand of snark however, Aubrey's features softened, and she actually gave Beca a genuine smile, before she said, "Merry Christmas Beca."

Caught completely off-guard, Beca couldn't keep the inflection out of her voice. "Um... Merry Christmas, Aubrey?"

The blonde raised her right eyebrow, and her customary hardness returned to her steely gaze. "Was that a question?"

"Umm-Maybe? No? Sorry, guess I was a little thrown by your lack of an insult."

Aubrey raised her eyebrow even higher at Beca. "I'll have you know, I'm completely capable of extending kindness, even to you, Beca Mitchell." She paused for a moment, then said with a smirk that bordered on evil. "Just don't get too used to it."

"Then I'll treasure this moment forever," Beca deadpanned. "By the way, thanks for the books. They were a surprise. Not sure how you knew I wanted leather bound copies of the complete works of JRR Tolkien." Again Beca made a show of flashing a sugary sweet smile.

The blonde held Beca's gaze for a moment as she considered her words. "I thought you might appreciate a comprehensive telling of your peoples." Aubrey matched Beca's sarcasm.

"I do appreciate it, which is why I made sure to go on Amazon, and ordered The Oz series of books by L. Frank Baum, and had them ship to you," Beca shot back immediately. Her faux sweet smile still in place.

Aubrey just stared at the younger woman for a good two seconds, before exhaling a very audible sigh. She tipped her head to the brunette as she said, "Touché."

Chloe couldn't help the giggle brought on by the antics of her two friends.

With a more genuine smile to Chloe, Aubrey turned on her heels in a military fashion which would make her father proud, and stepped towards the exit. "Whatever hobbit. Enjoy your trip back to the island of misfit toys," she said over her shoulder as she made her way out of the door.

Beca rolled her eyes in response. "Well that extension of kindness didn't last long," the brunette mumbled as she watched the heavy doors close, the sound echoed throughout the now nearly empty rehearsal space with a sense of finality.

Having watched the interaction between her best friend and the young woman who occupied a lot of her thoughts, Chloe playfully bumped her shoulder into Beca's. The redhead directed her eyes toward the door her blonde friend had just exited through. "You know, if you weren't such a tiny ball of sarcasm... and if Bree could remove that oversized stick from her butt," she added for good measure, "You two just might get along; be friends even."

This statement was just too funny for Beca to ignore. She let out a loud chuckle. "I very much doubt that."

"I stand by my assessment," Chloe said with mock seriousness.

"Uh-huh, you do that Chlo."

"So I really wanted to thank you for the Christmas playlist you put together for the Bella's' Christmas party," Chloe said, her smile seemed to get bigger, and her eyes brighter. "It was so good! Even Aubrey was impressed!"

The petite woman blushed at the compliment. "It was nothing."

"Oh no," Chloe shook her head. "It was definitely not nothing. It was magical how you mixed all those songs together, allowing some of my favorite Christmas carols to blend to such a point it almost seemed like I was listening to brand new music," the cheery redhead might have actually begun to glow with her excitement, her blue eyes shining even bluer. It all made Beca all the more self-effacing as she stood there. The redhead noticed and so took the younger woman's hand. She said in much gentler and even more sincere tones, "You're so talented Beca, thank you for sharing it with us. I really appreciated it."

The heat Beca had been feeling in her cheeks, spread to every inch of her being. Beca wondered if she was as red as Chloe's hair. Beca murmured a timid "Thanks," as she dropped her gaze to the floor. Something about the redhead always left the freshman a bit flustered.

Still holding the young girl's hand, Chloe decided it best to change the topic to one that would take the focus off her younger friend. "I liked your present for the white elephant gift exchange."

Beca looked up with her more confident smirk as she said, "Well I had Amy, so an obnoxious amount of booze seemed like a safe bet."

"Amy was so happy, you made her night," Chloe said, "and that's what gift giving is all about." She slid over and gave Beca a side hug. "You were thoughtful enough to give her a gift that would make her happy, so it was perfect."

Beca stiffened under the light weight of Chloe's arm, but she didn't pull away. She looked up at the senior and observed, "You know Chloe, I mean this with all sincerity and honesty, you might be the Christmas spirit incarnated."

"Oh Becs," Chloe said as she spun into the younger woman. "That's just the sweetest thing I've ever been told." Caught off guard by the sudden full hug, Beca's arms automatically came up to Chloe's waist and wrapped around the other woman. The two stayed in each other's arms for a good while. For very similar and different reasons the two wanted to stay in the moment.

Finally the two pulled away, though their hands remained connected. "So," Chloe said rather demurely, almost as if she were embarrassed. "I got you a present."

"Chlo, you didn't have to…"

"I know I didn't Becs, but I wanted to," Chloe interrupted as she reached into her bag. "So here, Merry Christmas." With that she handed Beca a red Christmas card envelope, with Beca written in beautiful cursive on the front.

"What's this?" Beca asked.

"Open it and see silly," Chloe giggled.

With that Beca opened the envelope and pulled out the card. On the cover was a beautifully drawn otter in a Santa hat, with the words, ' Wishing You an Otterly Awesome Christmas' . Beca couldn't help but grin at the cute card. She opened the card and pulled out a neatly folded piece of paper, and read the message from Chloe, which was as sweet as one would expect from Chloe Beale.

"Thanks Chloe," Beca replied.

"Look at the paper, Chloe urged, a bit of her excitement creeping back into her demeanor.

Having almost forgotten the paper in her hand, Beca opened it and read the homemade flyer. The petite brunette scrunched her eyebrows as she read, then reread the flyer. It seemed to be a flyer for a local club that was very popular with the college crowd. Aubrey and Chloe had gotten the Bellas in a couple times for Bellas bonding nights. The club played decent music and a good dance floor, so even Beca had enjoyed herself. What really was confusing Beca was the flyer was advertising the premiere of DJ BMitch .

"Umm - I don't understand…"

The redhead was practically bursting with excitement, her grin was painfully wide, yet seemed completely natural on her. "I arranged for you to be a deejay for a night at the Rev Ultra Lounge."

"You what?" Beca asked, completely flabbergasted.

"You, my very talented deejay, are going to premiere your mad skills at the Rev Ultra Lounge…"

The redhead was cut off by the petite brunette woman slamming into her for a huge hug. "Thank you, thank you, thank you," Beca kept saying, as her heart beat madly in her chest. The petite brunette was so overwhelmed at the moment with so many feelings. This was the most incredible gift anyone had ever given her. Yet she didn't understand why she felt so overwhelmed. It was more than just what Chloe had set up for her; it was just so much more.

For her part, Chloe just held onto the smaller woman, enjoying every moment of feeling her body pressed tightly to her own. "Your welcome," she responded in a whisper.

When they broke apart, after a good minute long hug, Beca looked at the flyer again. It was then she noticed something she had missed before. "Chlo?"

"Yes Becs?"

"The date on this is my birthday." Sheepishly, the petite brunette looked into cerulean eyes.

"Yes Becs. You will make your professional deejay debut on the night of your nineteenth birthday, which will obviously be a mandatory Bellas bonding night."

"I don't know what to say…"

"You already said thanks, Becs," Chloe said, "It's more than enough."

Beca Mitchell usually didn't do feelings, so she hoped her awkward "thanks" she had said told Chloe just how much she loved the gift. And suddenly she remembered her gift for Chloe that was in her bag. It suddenly didn't feel like enough.

Sheepishly Beca reached into her gym bag, and pulled out a USB stick. She looked at it for a moment, before she handed it to Chloe. "Umm-I made this for you."

Chloe's smile got even sweeter as she accepted Beca's present for her.

"It's not a big deal, just Christmas mixes I thought you would like to listen. I think you will like it, but it's not anything as special as what you…"

Chloe cut off the freshman, "It's your music Becs. It'll be great, Beca. It's always great." There was another pause as they both just stared at each other. Then Chloe seemed to realize something, she laughed happily, and let it subside to a sweet smile.

The redhead then slipped her arm through the shorter woman's arm, and tugged her towards the door. "Join me at the diner for much needed nourishment."

"It's a little late for lunch," Beca pointed out, though she allowed herself to be guided out of the rehearsal hall.

"Then it will be an early dinner," Chloe offered. "Come on, I'm so in the mood for one of the diner's world famous eggnog malts."

"Of course you do," Beca huffed, even as the excited redhead picked up their pace. "And really, world famous?"

"Aca-positively," Chloe assured the younger woman. "They are simply divine, and I make sure to have one every year before I head home for winter break."

"If they are so famous, then why haven't I heard of them?" Beca snarkily asked.

With a ' tsk, tsk' and a shake of her head, Chloe explained like she was talking to a first grader, "Beca, Beca, Beca," Chloe started, "It's obvious that you are a freshman, who has led a sheltered life." At the brunette's hurumph at this characterization, Chloe pulled the petite woman tighter against her side. "But it's okay, because you have such an incredible senior here to help show you the world and all the amazing things that are available."

"Oh really?" Beca asked in an over sweet voice.

"Totes!"
