A Hellish Baseball Match Against the Dead
"Oh, what bad timing for this car to break down." Yuna exclaimed.
Yuna, Rin, and Elizabeth have gotten a ride after arriving at the train station hoping to catch up to Kazuki and Kuriko and hoping to stop Kuriko's advancement on the wolf boy alone at the resort. However, the car they were riding on suddenly broke down the driver said he can't get it fix even if he could use his magic to do so, which got Yuna and Rin worry.
"It looks like we have no choice but to walk all the way there." Rin suggested though worry of the long journey.
"But it'll be morning by then. Don't you know any superspeed spell, Mother Rin?" Elizabeth asked.
"I'm afraid I do not, little one." Rin admitted.
"Well, I'm sure father and mother are doing okay together though it makes me wonder if Kuriko has already taken his first." Elizabeth said bluntly making Rin gasp and angry.
"Elizabeth! That is something little girls like you shouldn't know until you're older!" Rin scolded.
"But I'm already older despite my young appearance, plus I may have seen how men and women please each other before." Elizabeth mentioned trying to look innocent and pressing her fingers together.
"Even so, you should reframe from speaking such things out loud." Rin stated.
"(Kuriko, I swear you better not have done something to my Kazuki!)" Rin thought angered, then realize that she suddenly thought of Kazuki as hers.
"W-Where did that come from?" Rin asked herself, blushing.
Then a light brightens on the girls as they see a van driving up to them and stops.
"Hey, quit blocking the road! I'm in a hurry and you guys are in my way!" A woman called out complaining in a rush.
"Hold on, I know that voice." Yuna recognized.
"A rare game is being sold on the opposite side of that mountain! Move it!" Kari shouted but became shocked of seeing Yuna and Rin along with Elizabeth.
"Miss Iba!" Yuna surprised.
"Yuna, Rin, and that ghost girl. What are you three doing here?" Kari asked.
"We came here because we're worry about Kazuki and Kuriko in a public bath doing something in incident, could you please give us a ride?" Yuna begged.
"Wait, there's a public bath all the way out here?" Kari surprised to hear this.
"Yes, Shikimori is there perhaps being seduce by Kuriko as we speak." Rin informed.
"I came along because I wanted to experience what a hot spring is like." Elizabeth added.
"Well, I really want to get that game…" Kari said though has the sudden urge to go check up on Kazuki to see how he is doing since his spell count went down to five.
"(Man, so this must be what is feels like to care for something more than a game.)" Kari thought sighed.
"Get in." Kari said much to the girls' please.
The girls got into the van and Kari put the petal to the metal driving the van through the road and onto the path to where the hot spring is at, the ride along the way gets bumpy from some rocks and tree branches but that won't stop these girls from reaching Kazuki.
"So, why exactly are Kuriko and Kazuki relaxing at the hot spring?" Kari asked.
"She said it's to help increase his spell count, but I have a feeling that Kuriko just dragged him there to get his genes." Yuna pouted.
"But the research about the place does say it can help increase one's spell count." Elizabeth stated.
"Maybe so, but Kuriko would also use this opportunity to get him into her womanizing hands." Rin said looking a little angry.
"I'm sure Kazuki can take care of how she operates." Kari shrugged, almost taking her hands off the wheel.
Soon, the girls arrive at the hot spring resort as they quickly got out of the van rushing to where Kazuki and Kuriko are while Kari is shocked to see that there really is a hot spring resort all the way out here.
"I wonder if I can make a reservation?" Kari asked herself.
Yuna, Rin, and Elizabeth rushes to where they believe the two are at right now while the pink-haired girl becomes worried that Kuriko and Kazuki are doing some like being naked and having sex which is something to refuse to let that happen for two reasons. One is because they are still in high school and need to focus on their education, the second reason is that she wants to be Kazuki's first girl to mate with since she got the wolf mate mark first.
"KAZUKI!" Yuna shouted as they rushed into the hot bath together.
But to their surprise, they only found Kuriko and the owner woman Romeco naked and relaxing in the warm and relaxing water.
"Oh, Yuna, I wasn't expecting to see you here. Rin and Elizabeth, what brings you three here?" Kuriko asked.
"Well, we came to see how Kazuki is doing." Yuna answered.
Right on cue, Kazuki resurface from being underwater and gasping for air and dry his face a little with his hands.
"Well, Kuriko, how long did I hold for that time?" Kazuki asked.
"That time?" Yuna confused.
Hearing Yuna's voice, Kazuki turns around becoming shocked to see Yuna along with Rin and Elizabeth here in the hot spring resort.
"Girls, what are you doing here?" Kazuki asked.
"Man, this place sure is big and fancy for being all the way out here." Kari commented as she walked into the bath as well.
"Miss Iba!" Kazuki shocked to see his homeroom teacher here too.
"Oh my, mother! You got the mate mark just like Mother Yuna!" Elizabeth smiled upon seeing it.
Yuna and Rin gasp as they too saw the mark on Kuriko's breast as she giggles with a wink and sticking her tongue out a bit.
"KURIKO?! I KNEW IT!" Yuna shouted in rage and literally in fire.
"No, wait, Yuna! We really came here for my spell count!" Kazuki tried to calm his raging girlfriend down.
After Yuna had finally calm her anger down, she and the others rested their bodies into the warm water as they listen to Kuriko and Kazuki about what they are trying to do at the moment before they came here.
"Holding your breath for over two years! That's crazy and impossible!" Yuna gasped.
"Yeah, the longest I can go for is about two minutes or so." Kazuki nodded.
"As you can see, there's no way Kazuki can hold his breath for that long." Kuriko said.
"Damn, looks like you got yourself in quite the pickle here, wolf boy." Kari commented.
"Yeah, and the lady said that two humans, a werewolf, and a vampire were able to do it though I still find it hard to believe." Kazuki exclaimed.
"Oh, trust me on this, darling. It really happened." Romeco said suddenly appearing behind Kazuki causing him to spook and stand up.
Doing that causes his mini, but big elephant to be expose for the girls to see blushing of shock though Kuriko was able to cover Elizabeth's eyes in time while she and the rest are feeling a little warm more than from the bath.
"Kazuki, the water is that deep!" Rin glared.
Kazuki look down realizing that he just expose himself to the girls and quickly lower his body back into the hot bath while blushing of extreme embarrassment.
"In any case, if ya'll want to quicker way to increase your spell count than there is another way by leaps and bounds, you know." Romeco mentioned.
"Really? You have a second option?" Kazuki asked as he and the girls are surprised to hear this.
"That's right." Romeco nodded.
"Oh, what is it?" Yuna asked.
"Well, I got to warn ya there's a big of risk involve." Romeco warned.
"That doesn't sound good." Kazuki gulped.
"I don't care, when it comes to Kazuki, I'm alright with a little danger. I'll take the risk." Yuna determined which surprised Kazuki feeling his heart racing a little.
"Alright then, here goes." Romeco clapped her hands.
Suddenly the water in the bath went all wild like being in the ocean during a huge storm as the water disappeared revealing a baseball field, there are also some green-skinned men wearing black baseball uniform smirking at them.
"What the… What is all this?" Kari asked shock.
"I think those men are spirits like me." Elizabeth guessed.
"See them? Those baseball loving spirits live in this hot spring! Play them and win, the wolf boy's spell count is yours to do as you wish." Romeco revealed exciting.
"How come they play baseball?" Kazuki wondered.
A little later, Kazuki and the girls went into the room to talk about playing the baseball game.
"Are you really going to play?" Elizabeth asked.
"Of course, we are! We've come this far, and we don't want to this done it all for nothing." Kuriko answered.
"Hey Elizabeth, what will happen to us if we lose?" Kazuki asked a little nervous.
"Well, all of your will go to practice camp in Hell." Elizabeth answered.
"IN HELL?!" Kazuki gasped.
"Rumors from the afterlife says the training course at the camp is really nasty, and the Red vs White game last forever." Elizabeth explained.
"Seriously, the game never stops like at all?" Kari asked.
"Indeed, this is Hell we're talking about, and you're not allow to rest. Therefore, you suffer eternally." Elizabeth nodded.
"You know, maybe we don't have to do this. After all, I can always use my werewolf powers to just do about anything I need to do without using my magic." Kazuki stated.
"I don't know, the kind of guy that you are, there's a good chance you'll end up using your magic to help others." Kari pointed out making Kazuki flinch.
"Which is preciously why we're doing this. After all, it is my fault to come here in the first place." Kuriko admitted.
"We're gonna see this through to the end, it is too late to turn back now." Rin determined to help Kazuki, not for liking him or anything.
"Can I play too, mother? You're gonna need all the help you can get." Elizabeth offered her ghostly hand in this.
"Of course, sweetie." Kuriko smiled at adopted ghost daughter.
"What about you, Miss Iba?" Kazuki asked.
"Well, I originally came out so late at night is because of a video game, but I had a sudden change of heart. So yeah, I will play with you guys!" Kari smirked with a thumb up.
"(Wow, Miss Iba never cared anything else than video games. I guess she really is becoming a good teacher.)" Kazuki thought smiled.
"Okay girls, let's go out there tomorrow and win!" Kari said before they cheer.
"And Kazuki, you be sure to focus only on your werewolf physical abilities because we'lre gonna need that the most." Kari said.
"You got it, I'll give it all I got!" Kazuki nodded.
"(Though I really hope we can win against those guys.)" Kazuki thought concerned for the girls.
(Morning)
Kazuku's team are well-rested and made their way to the baseball field where the baseball loving spirits are waiting for them and Romeco is there playing as the rep for the game, Kazuki can tell these spirits have way more experience than anyone though he can hope they can beat these spirits and not go to Hell.
Kazuki looks at the scoreboard seeing that his team's name is "Aoi Academy" and the other team's name is "Spirit Team" which make sense since these guys are ghost and all.
"Alright then, we're gonna have a special match between the baseball loving spirits and the Aoi private campus volunteers." Romeco announced, getting really excited on the inside.
"Now bow to each other." Romeco said to show good sportsmanship to each other.
"Good luck." Both teams said to each other as they bow before going to their own side.
The first batter of the Aoi team is Yuna as she hold the bat firmly in her hands and made her way to the to field.
"Yuna said she never played baseball before, will she be alright?" Kazukui asked.
"Hopefully, after all, this isn't regular baseball. You can square off using magic." Kuriko pointed out.
"Well, if you say so." Kazuki said.
"Let's play ball!" Romeco called the start of the game as she put on the mask.
The ghost spirit playing the pitcher first look at Yuna fiercely and then threw the ball hard as it glows like gold from the magic energy it was place by the ghost, Yuna saw this coming and ready herself with magic into the bat and swings with all her might. But she misses completely, and she didn't do well on when she got to strike three.
"I'm sorry, I tried my best." Yuna sobbed.
"Don't worry, I'm sure even baseball players had a hard time getting the hits in." Kazuki cheered Yuna up, though he never really watches nor understands baseball.
"Okay, Kazuki, you're up next." Kuriko informed.
Kazuki nods before patting hard on his own cheeks with his ears and tail standing up strongly as he made his way onto the field with a bat in his hand, he looks at the pitcher waiting for him to make the throw.
"You can do this, Kazuki. You are the Werewolf King like your grandpa, meaning you too can do the impossible." Kazuki talked to himself.
The only one who heard him said those words is Romeco as she is shocked with her eyes widen though didn't say anything as the baseball game has just started.
The ghost pitcher threw the ball while smirking, thinking this kid won't be able to get that ball consider how fast it's going except the opposite happen when Kazuki use his superfast reflexes to see the ball coming and hit it hard and sending it far away.
"Holy molly, it's a homerun!" Romeco gasped as the baseball loving spirits are shocked too.
"Alright, way to go!" Kari cheered.
"That's my Kazuki! Show them what for!" Yuna cheered.
"Father really is amazing!" Elizabeth amazed of the swing he did.
"He certainly is." Kuriko smiled with one hand onto the Werewolf King mate mark.
"Oh yeah, that should put us ahead of the spirits!" Kazuki smiled as he ran all around the field and back to the home base.
"Don't get too cocky, Shikimori. This is only the first round, so we got to stay focus." Rin advised.
"Okay, you got it." Kazuki nodded.
The game continues on being intense for everyone, Aoi team are doing their best against the baseball loving spirits showing they are more than meets the eye, even with Kazuki's super werewolf abilities, these ghost players are proving to be tougher than they thought.
So far, the game has finally reached the final round and team Aoi is ahead of them by one point meaning they have to make this their win otherwise it will end up being a lose or worse and they'll be sent to Hell.
"Okay Yuna, it's all on you now." Kuriko said.
"Sheesh, way to say it like that." Yuna scared a bit.
"Remember, we're doing this for Kazuki's sake." Kuriko reminded.
Yuna threw the last ball at the ghost batter hoping the magic she put in is fast enough to hit the glove, but the ghost batter is faster than that and hit the ball about to go far though Kazuki was able to catch it.
"Kari!" Kazuki threw the ball very fast, faster than a speeding bullet.
Kari managed to catch the ball in her glove and Romeco blew the whistle.
"That's game! Team Aoi Academy wins!" Romeco announced.
The girls and Kazuki smile as they are surprised and glad to have won the game, the girls are more grateful that they won without Kazuki having to waste a spell count too.
"Okay, that means I can increase my sell count now?" Kazuki asked.
"That's right as promise, and there's a bonus for you, wolf boy!" Romeco said.
"I heard you calling yourself the grandson of the old Werewolf King and being the current one, is that true?" Romeco asked.
"Yeah, that's right." Kazuki answered honestly.
"Well then, you can now increase your spell count up to 108!" Romeco announced shocking everyone.
"You're not pulling our leg here, right?" Kuriko asked.
"Nope, the Werewolf was such a kind costumer and helped the spirits feel at ease when playing even though he had to do it alone." Romeco explained.
"He fought them alone?!" Kazuki gasped.
"That's right, and for that we have a special rule to those who are related to the Werewolf King can have their spell count increase up to 108." Romeco nodded.
"That's wonderful, Kazuki!" Yuna hugged him as he chuckles smiling.

Now that was a ball game even though I never played baseball nor a fan of the sport, this sure turned out different than how the anime ended and now Kazuki's spell count has increased WAY up to 113. Now the girls won't have to worry about Kazuki turning to ashes anytime soon.
