Best Christmas Ever

Chapter 12

Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

The tree decorating was finished by early afternoon. Catherine and Lizzy had popped into the kitchen to whip up some lunch for the family, while the boxes were put away. Charlie offered to help with Colton, while the matriarch of the Beale clan dragged her reluctant youngest son in to help set the table.

Twenty minutes after the angel had been placed, the family was seated around the table enjoying some hot tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

"Man, bacon makes everything better," Chad declared around the bite of his bacon grilled cheese sandwich.

"I hear you, man," Beca agreed. "Thanks for lunch Mrs…" At Catherine's look, Beca course corrected, "…Catherine. How did I not know you could have bacon on your grilled cheese?"

"Just unlucky," Chloe observed.

"Seriously," Beca nodded. She then whispered so only Chloe could hear. "So is your mother secretly Martha Stewart?"

This caused Chloe to laugh, she then leaned over and answered, "Nah-but they are friends, and they have traded ideas."

With eyes round with awe, Beca asked, "Seriously?"

With a solemn nod, Chloe said, "Dixie Chick's serious."

Beca turned and just stared at Catherine. The older redhead felt Beca's eyes on her, and looked up. "Is everything okay dear?"

"You're incredible," Beca gushed out.

Beca now knew for certain where Chloe got her incredible smile. "Why thank you dear."

"Seriously, you're going to make her insufferable," Chad cut in.

"Don't listen to him, Beca, you feel free to give your honest opinion," Catherine said to the younger woman.

"So what are you kids going to get up to today?" Charles asked the table.

"Get up to? Man pop, I'm so tired from this morning, I feel like I could sleep for a whole day." Chad answered through a large yawn, heightening his point.

"I see your day bro, and raise you a week." Chase said, as he leaned his head into his hand with elbow on the table..

"Man after my own heart." Beca laughed at the younger boy's penchant for sleep, something they seemed to have in common. While engaged in the current conversation, Beca completely missed her red haired best friend deflate at the brunette's comment. A little bit of the twinkle in her eyes diminished.

"So are you kids really just going to sleep your vacation away?" Charles asked, though not entirely surprised by his youngest son's desire to do so.

"Well we thought we'd take Colton outside and build a snowman after lunch, if anyone else is interested." Lizzy chimed in from her seat.

"Ooh, that sounds like so much fun!" Chloe excitedly jumped in. She turned to her younger friend and asked with hopeful glee.. "Becs?"

"What? No, ohhh nooooo." The petite freshman answered quickly, waving her hands at the idea, as if to shoo the thought away. "What about the rest of the day being completely void of further physical activity?! Those were your exact words, Beale!" Beca defended..

"But it'll be so much fun!"

Beca dropped her head onto her crossed arms that lay on the table before her. Even without looking, Beca could see those impossibly blue eyes imploring her to agree. "Uhhhhng. But it's so cold out." She whined, her response muffled due to her position. "Plus aren't we supposed to wait like an hour or whatever after we eat?" She asked in desperation. She lifted her head back up to see if her argument had had any effect.

"That's for swimming you goof. Come on Becs, pleeeease?" Chloe dragged out the word, pushing out her bottom lip into an adorable pout which she had spent years perfecting.

The younger Bella sighed heavily. "Seriously, has anyone ever been able to say 'No' to that face?"

"No," answered Charlie, Chad, and Chase in unison.

"Well, Mom," Chad appended.

"And sometimes Dad," Charlie added.

"Sometimes?" their father asked, surprised at this assessment.

"Ehh…" Chad countered as he rocked his hand back and forth to visually depict 'sometimes'.

"Well if you all can't, how can I say no to that face?" Beca said in resignation. As she indicated Chloe with a wave of her hand. The family all chuckled in commiseration.

For her part, Chloe squealed in excitement and threw her arms around the petite brunette's shoulders for a full on Chloe Beale hug. When her lips were just centimeters from Beca's ears she whispered, "You know you can't. You really can't."

"WHIPPED." Chad coughed the word loudly into his fist. This caused Chase to guffaw.

Despite still being in Chloe's hug, Beca shot a stern glare towards the older brother. The small smile that tugged at the corner of her lips, and the color of her cheeks turning a burning scarlet, belied the true playful nature of Beca's response.

After lunch, everyone save for Chloe's father dressed in their jackets and put on gloves and hats, most at Catherine's insistence, and made sure they would be warm when outside.

Beca ended up borrowing a new pair of mittens from Chloe as the ones she wore that morning were still damp. She tried begging them off, but Catherine and Chloe insisted.

"Seriously Chloe?! They're bright PINK!"

"They look adorable on you Becs."

"HOT PINK, Chlo," Beca countered.

"Oh hush, keeping your hands warm is what's important," Chloe insisted.

"It's not that important," grumbled Beca.

"What was that, Becs?" Chloe asked in a sugary sweet voice.

"Nothing," Beca replied louder.

Chloe hugged the shorter woman from behind. from behind they heard Chase make his approximation of a whip sound. They chose to ignore him.

Once they all had the seal of approval from Mama-Bear-Beale, they all made their way outside and towards an empty space just past the back patio. Catherine decided to sit out from the actual activity of building a snowman, and instead took up a comfortable spot on her favorite porch swing on the back deck that overlooked both the patio area and the backyard.

Sipping her cup of hot tea, Catherine situated herself so she was comfortably looking out towards everyone. She had also brought her best camera, with a telephoto lense, so she could take more pictures. First out was Charlie and Lizzy, who placed Colton on the snow so he was standing on his short little legs. He immediately fell on his butt, into the snow, giggling all the way. Catherine had just picked up her camera and had captured a picture of Colton standing for a split second, and then him laughing sitting in the snow. She then took pictures as Lizzy knelt down to keep Colton occupied while Charlie got to work piling up a base for their snowman.

Next out was Beca. The snow crunched underneath Beca's borrowed boots. Snow, from when she was a very little girl, had always filled her with excitement. Those memories had been tempered down with what came later, but this day was resurrecting them. The snow was powdery white, the light of the afternoon sun reflecting off it, making it glimmer, which has Beca feeling a child-like delight she had not expected.

Looking up from the snow, her gray blue eyes landed on Chad and Chase. The two have set to work on some sort of snow wall, though Beca has no idea what purpose that will serve. She watched the two brothers work for a minute before hearing the redhead step up next to her.

"So Becs," Chloe started to say in her sweetest voice.

Oh no…

"Chloe!" Beca immediately realized what was coming next. She tried to emphatically put a stop to it. "Just NO!" She held up her index finger to emphasize her adamance, but she was wearing mittens, so the gesture was lost; hot pink mittens, Beca groaned in frustration.

Hot Pink!

Undeterred Chloe began to sing,

Do you wanna build a–

"CHLOE! I've already agreed to build a snowman," the younger woman tried to reason. She quickly realized it was too late, as Chloe started again.

Do you wanna build a snowman?

Come on let's go and play

"Chloe," Beca tried to plead, but Chloe was sweeping her up, and started to waltz around with the petite woman, who honestly wasn't putting up any resistance.

Do you wanna build a snowman?

It doesn't have to be a snowman

"Well if that's the case," Beca interjected. Chloe continued to ignore the freshman's snark and continued to dance them about, even twirling the shorter woman all the while singing.

Just let me in

We only have each other

It's just you and me

At this point she looked Beca in the eyes, a silent ask. With a sigh Beca sang,

Do you wanna build a snowman?

"Why yes Becs. I would love to build a snowman with you," Chloe said rather cheekily.

"Ugh…" Beca groaned. She looked deep into Chloe's bright blue eyes, so close as the redhead still held her. "I really never had a choice. Did I ?" Beca jokingly asked.

"Nope!" Chloe replied with a truly mischievous grin as she released the smaller woman and stepped back.

"Didn't think so." Beca smirked back knowingly. "Alright then, let's do it."

"Yay!" Chloe side-hugged her friend.

"Alright, alright," Beca said, though she did nothing to pull out of the redhead's hug. She did try to change the subject. "Frozen? Really?"

Chloe shrugged, still holding Beca from the side. "It's a cute movie."

"No comment," Beca snarked, then grinned, "Guess we're building a snowman."

-~Merry Pitchm as 2021~-

As everyone started to play in the snow, Catherine was glad she'd brought out her camera, because the scene laid before her was just perfect for her favorite photography. She had always enjoyed photography, it had been her favorite hobby growing up.

When it came to photography, Catherine had certain preferences. While she did often take pictures of scenery, she really preferred pictures of people. And while she sometimes took a still life, she always preferred candid moments of people interacting in real time. Chloe dancing Beca about was a perfect example of this. She had even made it a personal mission every holiday to get a perfect picture of every member of her ever growing family. Luckily for her, the Beale's were ones who liked doing things, so Catherine often had opportunities for taking candid pictures..

Catherine really loved photographing the different holiday activities, and had taken a number of amazing photos during the Christmas tree decorating, but she was really enjoying taking pictures of the family outside. There was just something about the action of the outdoor photographs.

With a smile she lifted the camera, and continued taking picture after picture. She felt it was always good to get multiple shots of what she was trying to capture.

Of course her camera found lots of pictures of her first grandchild, but something about the interactions between Chloe and Beca just kept drawing her attention. She was truly thankful that Charles had given her a telephoto lense for Christmas last year, because her camera was able to capture so many details, like how Chloe's eyes sparkled every time she looked at the petite brunette, or how Beca's cheeks would turn pink at something Chloe had said.

There was one particular moment, both girls were kneeling right next to each other, and happened to look into the eyes of the other in just such a way. They were laughing, and totally oblivious of anything other than the other woman. There was a carefree quality that each brought out in the other, and it was easy to see the love that was shared. Catherine was so thankful she had her camera pointed at them at that moment so she could take the most perfect picture.

Catherine smiled as she realized she now had the perfect present for both girls.

-~Merry Pitchm as 2021~-

Unaware of the pictures that were being taken, the girls had spent the last hour packing snow and rolling three sections into large sized spherical shapes to stack on one another. They made each one a bit smaller than the last. It took some effort as the snow was a bit heavy, but Chloe was determined that they do it without the help of Chad or Chase.

Beca wasn't sure if she was imagining it, but Chloe seemed especially determined to not have Chase's help. Except that would be silly, and Beca figured she was just imagining it.

Between the two of them they managed to stack the large snowballs, they then squared out the bottom base for stability. Once they got the body put together they stepped back and assessed the work so far.

"Okay something's missing..." Chloe said as she tapped her chin. She studied their snowman with furrowed eyes.

"Yeah, it doesn't have eyes, a nose and mouth or a hat." Beca chuckled amusedly.

"Yee of little faith." Chloe said over her shoulder as she went over to the patio and grabbed a box her mom had Charlie bring out earlier. "You're building snowmen with the Beales."

The redhead brought the box over, and opened it for Beca to see. It was filled with items that could be used to decorate the snowman. She opened a tupperware container filled with black rocks.

"You actually have coal for the snowman?" Beca asked incredulously.

"Of course," Chloe grinned as if this was obvious.

"Overachievers," Beca teased.

Chloe simply shrugged and answered, "Beales."

She happily grabbed a couple pieces of coal for the eyes. She smiled and nodded to Beca who returned the smile and grabbed a handful for a mouth, and on impulse grabbed one of the carrots from a second tupperware container, for the nose. This pleased Chloe to no end. She was really happy that Beca was getting into this activity.

Walking over to the snow figure, Chloe squinted her eyes and stuck her tongue out the corner of her as she attempted to place the coal just so, on the top ball to form the eyes of the face. Beca watched on with a warm grin. She always loves the adorable face Chloe would make when she was really concentrating on a task.

When the redhead was done, Beca stepped up and placed the carrot for the nose. She wasn't happy at first, and took it back down and broke the carrot in half, then placed the top half back on the snowman.

"Chase," Chloe called over her shoulder as she watched Beca placing the smaller pieces of coal for the mouth. When he didn't respond, Chloe turned towards where her two brothers were building a fort. When Chase didn't answer, she shouted, "CHASE!"

"WHAT?!"

"Did you bring that bag like I asked?" Chloe asked in exasperation.

Instead of answering, he gestured towards the patio. She turned and saw the bag sitting in a chair. The older Bella headed over to grab the bag, knowing it contained some final pieces of material for their decorating.

When she returned she noticed Beca's attention had been diverted to watching her nephew building their own snowmen, so she quickly placed the two objects around the midsection and over the front chest of their creation, wanting to surprise her friend with her design idea.

With her body blocking most of the snowman, Chloe straightened out the final piece of clothing as she heard Beca say, "It's looking really great, Chloe."

The redhead bent over giggling. "I knew it! You are secretly enjoying this."

"Fine! Yes, I do."

Chloe finished by placing a tweed ladies newsboy cap on the top of the snowman. She then turned her head towards the brunette and gave her a wide smile and a wink, knowing Beca can only see the head from where she's standing behind her.

"It is really looking nice, Chloe."

"Thanks Beca. It just needs one last detail..." she said before she whipped something from her jacket pocket to wrap around the snowman's neck. "And voila!"

Chloe stepped back a few feet till she was standing next to Beca. Together they surveyed their finished snowman. It took Beca a second or two to understand what she was seeing. When it clicked though…

"Are you kidding me Chlo?"

"What?" Chloe responded innocently.

"It's a freaking Bella snowman!" Beca exclaimed with a laugh, seeing the snow figure in front of her wearing what looked like a dark blue skirt and vest combo, with a gold and blue scarf wrapped snugly around its neck.

"Snow-woman." Chloe corrected.

Beca quirked an eyebrow.

"Snow-woman, really? Can she also sing Mariah Carey chart-toppers?" Beca joked, remembering the first conversation she ever had with Chloe and Aubrey at the Barden activities fair.

"Maybe, if you ask her real nicely." Chloe joked back with a grin.

"You've been planning this Bella snow-woman outfit for weeks haven't you?" Beca questioned slyly.

"I will neither confirm nor deny that accusation." The redhead stuck her tongue out playfully.

"Whatever weirdo. Well I think we did a pretty good job, but it's still missing something. Hold on a sec." Beca said. Unexpectedly the petite young woman rushed back into the house. A few minutes later she returned, a little out of breath. Without a word Beca walked up to the Snow Bella and placed an object on the face. "There." She said, stepping back proudly to reveal to Chloe her new addition. "Now she's a badass."

Chloe laughed at the sunglasses that now sat on the snow-woman's face, the coal that made the smile now sitting in a slightly smirking formation.

"You know what, I think it's perfect now." Chloe agreed with a smile, as she wrapped her left arm around the petite brunette's shoulders to admire their work.

"Totes." Beca bumped hip to hip. Something in her peripheral vision caught her eye, and Beca shifted her weight backwards to see Charlie and Chad chatting closely next to the giant wall of tightly packed snow that was the front of their snow fort.

"Hey, what do you think that's all about?" Beca asked the redhead out of curiosity.

Chloe turned her head toward what Beca was referring to and witnessed two of her brothers conversing quite conspicuously together. Now, Chloe knows her brothers better than anyone, and if their eyeline wasn't enough indication, the snowball Charlie was currently attempting to keep hidden behind his back made Chloe grin like a Cheshire Cat.

"I think you better prepare yourself, Becs." She warned the petite DJ huddled next to her, a slight hint of mirth in her voice.

"Prepare for what?" Beca asked, still confused. But before Chloe could respond, she watched Charlie take his aim from across the yard.

Lizzy was kneeling in the snow helping Colton straighten out a hat on top of his tiny snowman's head when she felt a surprising cold blow hit her in the back.

"Ahhhhh!" She screamed in surprise.

Staggering forward slightly, the blonde turned her head around to find the source, though she knew there could only be one. Spotting her husband laughing and high fiving Chad not ten yards away, she calmly picked up her son and walked over to where Catherine was seated on the porch taking pictures..

"Cath, would you mind hanging onto the little man for a bit? I need to go shove a pile of snow down your son's pants."

"Of course dear," the older woman answered with a grin whilst scooping her grandson onto her lap. She nodded her head to a couple snowballs she had randomly made over the last hour, knowing all to well where the afternoon would lead. "Give him hell."

Lizzy smirked as she reached down and took two snowballs, then took off in a sprint towards her husband. With the freshly packed snowballs in each of her hands, Lizzy quickly closed the distance between she and her husband. Distracted by planning their next move, Charlie noticed her charge a moment too late as he took a snowball to the side of the head before being tackled into soft powder.

"Not fair, woman!" Charlie gasped, squirming under her, as Lizzy zoomed in on her target from close range. Before he realized his wife's intent he felt her ice cold hand shovel snow under his jacket and sweater onto his stomach.

"No!"

Chad took off, leaving the couple to their tickle slash snow fight as Charlie scooped a wave of snow at his wife even as she went for the pin..

Meanwhile, a free-for-all between the others had taken hold. As soon as Charlie went down, Chase popped up out of nowhere and began throwing snowballs at Beca and Chloe, who scattered for cover. Taking hits left and right, Beca sprinted towards the shelter of a large oak tree, while Chloe ran for the stacked firewood.

Safely away from the onslaught of snowballs, Chloe set about to make as many snowballs as possible in a few minutes.

The redhead had a decent number of snowballs when she felt a whap to her shoulder. Snow showered the side of Chloe's head. Some of the snow got behind the collar of her jacket, causing an embarrassing squeak. She turned her head to see Chad holding a second snowball in his hand.

She whipped about ready to fire back, but felt another whap, as a second snowball hit her square in the chest.

Chad was laughing so hard he didn't dodge as Chloe cocked her arm back and let loose in retaliation. Whap. The tight ball of cold hit Chad square in the face, cutting him off. Half his face was covered in snow.

"Oh, you want some, Little Sis?" Chad challenged, scooping up more snow to make his next projectile. Before he even got a proper snowball made, he felt another snowball whap against his forehead.

As quickly as she could, Chloe balled up another snowball and pitched it at Chad before she took off for new cover. Just as Chad was rearing back to throw at his sister, her last snowball caught him in the face again.

"Seriously, ChloBear?" He asked indignantly as he began to wipe the snow from his eyes. "Have you been spending every other hour practicing throwing snowballs?"

"Your giant head just makes an inviting target," Chloe called as she disappeared behind some trees. He cleared his vision but his sister had escaped.

Beca had found herself about ten feet behind Chase. She stooped to gather some snow, careful to avoid making too much noise as the powder crunched slightly as she packed it into a ball.

"Hey, Chase!" Beca called, straightening up. Chase turned with a surprised expression, opening his mouth to respond as the petite brunette hurled the snowball at him. Chase stumbled back with a surprised grunt as the snowball whapped into his chest and covered the front of his jacket with powdery snow.

"Oh, you're in for it now," the youngest Beale declared.

Beca bolted for new cover as Chase frowned, then bent down to pack a snowball of his own. He rushed his throw as Beca was getting away. She dodged easily, smiling the whole time.

Beca's laughter carries across the yard, giving Chloe warm thrills down her spine as she knelt behind a snow drift to make another snowball.

When Chloe peaked above the edge of the drift, she barely had a second to scout out where Chase was before a snowball landed directly in front of her, sending the powdery snow all over her face. Chloe let out a giggle and lobbed two of her snowballs roughly in the direction of where Chad was hiding.

"You're in for it now, Lil'Sis!" Chad shouted from behind his own shelter of snow.

"Bring it on, Big-Broo!" Chloe called back, before popping up to hurl another couple of snowballs his way

"You can't hit the broadside of a barn-Aghh!" Chad was caught unaware by a snowball as Beca popped up and threw two in quick succession. Both found their mark. He jumped up to retaliate, but before he could Chloe nailed him in the chest.

She couldn't savor the well placed shot though as Chase pelted her, and she took off for new cover.

For the next five solid minutes the snowball battle raged punctuated by shouts of good natured challenges and copious amounts of laughter. Now though a lull had settled across the backyard.

Within the snow fort, which Chase and Chad had built earlier, crouched Chloe. She had managed to make quite an arsenal of snowballs. Armed with about fifteen at her feet, she covertly lifted her head up to peek over the wall and assess her surroundings. She spots Lizzy and Charlie tossing snowballs at Chad about twenty feet diagonally to her left. Chad is ducking behind one of the built snowmen trying to roll together a few snowballs himself. Scanning about the backyard, she spots Chase holed up near a large tree, and who seems to have set his sights on his oldest brother and sister-in-law, so not a worry for the moment. After a couple more discreet passes, Chloe realized she hadn't seen Beca in awhile..

Where could she be?

The redhead decided to make use of the bag she had brought the Snow-Bella clothes in, and loaded it up with as many snowballs as she could fit into it. After grabbing about a dozen snowballs, she started to inch her body around the defense wall. Chloe managed to catch her younger brother's eye, and using their sibling telepathy, both nod in agreement to attack their unsuspecting older brother. Slowly, they slink towards his location. As soon as both were about five yards away, Chase yelled out.

"Now!"

"Ahhh!"

"Take that!" Chloe laughed, pelting Chad with snowball after snowball, while Chase made his attack from behind Chad. Charlie and Lizzy also continued their assault, till Chad was taking snowballs from four directions. The middle Beale boy beginning to disappear under the white snow covering him as he desperately tried to defend his body with his flailing arms.

Quickly running out of snowballs, Chloe went to run back to the fort and grab her remaining snowballs. She took off into a sprint, but not ten feet from her destination, she was tackled from the right side. The force of the tackle spun her in mid-air and she landed heavily on top of a slightly smaller body beneath her in the snow.

-~Merry Pitchm as 2021~-

Once the group had split after their initial free-for-all, Beca had taken cover out of view behind a fence near the shed off to the right of the backyard. The sudden snowball war had her heart racing, and the subsequent laughing and running around had made her pretty out of breath.

Man I gotta take Aubrey's cardio tips more seriously.

She had caught sight of Chloe dashing behind the snow-packed wall of the fort, which stood about four to five feet high and four feet wide. Beca thought it was pretty impressive the brothers had put that together so quickly before the snowball fight broke out. Figuring she just needed to bide her time before the redhead revealed herself again, Beca sat patiently, drawing shapes in the snow and watching the others continue to run around and battle it out. About five minutes later, she caught a bit of motion behind a tree across the yard from where she was stationed. She could see Chase looking towards the wall then towards a snowman that she assumed Chad is hiding behind. She could see Charlie and Lizzy were throwing snowballs at the spot, most likely keeping Chad pinned down.

Not two seconds later she spots Chloe and Chase slowly making their way towards where their brother is hiding.

Oh boy, he has no idea what's coming.

Beca grinned as she heard nothing but yelling and laughter and the sound of multiple snowballs hitting somebody.

Beca watched on as Chloe emptied out her bag of snowballs. Laughing as she unloaded all of them on the taller red haired man before turning her head to look back towards the base she came from.

This is it.

Sneak attack time, Mitchell!

Careful not to give herself away Beca managed to slinked around the fence covering before she saw her red haired friend break out in a sprint for the fort. Beca took off on a sprint of her own. Her intercept course set, Beca braced herself for the impact as she ran. Att the last the petite brunette threw herself at Chloe, going to wrap her arms firmly around the redhead's waist. Unfortunately she mistimed her jump, and was a bit behind Chloe. She did manage to catch the senior, but she swung the two of them around as she tackled Chloe which meant Beca was under the redhead as she pulled her to the ground.

"Ahhhhh!"

"Oof."

Chloe felt the instant impact of the tackle, but only felt softness as she landed on the ground. Opening her eyes after the initial shock of being tackled, she realized her tiny brown haired friend, whom she had been searching for just minutes before, was beneath her. Her nose was near Beca's ear, and she could smell the gentle scent of vanilla and lavender mixed with the younger woman's natural scent. She could breathe it in forever.

Beca groaned slightly from the redhead falling upon her. This spurred Chloe to lift her head slightly out from the crook of Beca's neck. At this point the redhead noticed the compromising position she found their bodies in. Laying directly on top, Chloe was distinctly aware of the body underneath her. Even through thick jackets, Chloe could feel her breasts pressing against the other woman's, who was now breathing raggedly; she could tell that their legs were messily entwined and hips pressed tightly together.

"Beca?" Chloe breathed out, still stunned.

Beca opened her eyes slowly to meet the other woman's icy blue eyes. Her breathing is still shallow, but slowing down in pace as she comes down from her sudden burst of exertion.

"What was that?" Chloe questioned again after an extended moment of silence from the brunette.

"I uh… surprise?" The freshman laughed airily and Chloe gifted her with a brilliant smile.

"I'll say! You knocked the wind right out of me. Have you been hiding this whole time just to do that?" The redhead laughed, looking down into the younger woman's dark gray-blue eyes. Locking her gaze with the elder Bella, Beca remembered the playful banter the two women shared just earlier.

"I will neither confirm nor deny that accusation." She grinned coyly, and the redhead rolled her eyes playfully.

"Dork."

"You love it." Beca responded instantly, but after a beat, she noticed Chloe go quiet and the light in her eyes reflect a deep emotion she isn't sure she has ever seen there before.

The two women don't seem to take notice of the on-going snow battle as they lay entwined on the ground, breathing slowly beginning to meld together as their faces drift closer to one another. Beca could feel the thumping of her heartbeat loudly in her ears as she witnessed the centimeters of space evaporate between them. She watched as Chloe's gaze drifted down towards her lips before quickly licking her own and seeing those sky blue irises disappear behind closed eyelids. As she mirrors the action, she feels the anticipation of what she is hoping is about to happen. And as suddenly as the feeling was there, it was ripped away…
