Chapter Eleven: In Which Betrayals Are Mentioned

"He's from Durmstrang!" spat Ron. "He's competing against Harry! Against Hogwarts! You — you're —" Ron was obviously casting around for words strong enough to describe her crime, "fraternizing with the enemy, that's what you're doing!"

"Hark who's talking," said Harry, scathingly. "Fraternizing with the enemy, he says. Who's the one that thought I was an attention-seeking liar? Who thought I put my own name in for the fame? Was it Hermione?"

Ron's mouth fell open.

"Who wouldn't talk to me until I nearly burned to death? Who cast aside our three-year long friendship in one moment? Was it Hermione?"

By now, the music had stopped and everyone was listening to what Harry Potter had to say.

"Who wouldn't even talk to me after my name came out of the Goblet? Who treated me like scum? Was it Hermione?"

"Harry —"

"It was you."

The words seemed to echo around the Great Hall.

AN: Ron should be trying to mend their broken friendship after he betrayed them. Harry was kind enough to accept his half-hearted apology after the first task, so Ron should be supportive of him and his other best friend. But he doesn't. He talked trash about Harry, and now he's talking trash about Hermione! What the fu**? What an a**hole!

Ahem.
