Nova's POV

I enter my room and throw myself on my bed. I'm so mentally exhausted. Today was a boring day, choosing last minute party decorations and a final look at my outfit for tomorrow. Tomorrow….the day has finally come.

I roll onto my back, to stare up at the ceiling. I have to see Sparks tonight. And I have to tell him the truth. About who I am, why I lied. And why we wont see each other again. I'll thank him for showing me what life could be. For being the adventure I was desperately searching for. And I also have to…. Tell him how I feel. Even if I'm rejected, it wouldn't matter. But it'll kill me inside if I don't let it out.

Getting up and getting dressed, I leave my room, excited but also sad for tonight.

….

I made my way towards the waterfall that Sparks and I go to. He told me to meet him there yesterday. It's easier now that we've gotten closer, because now he just tells me where we should meet instead of me wandering around the bars trying to find him.

I walk fast all the trees and up the hill towards the waterfall, The night is beautiful today. Small breeze but the weather was warm enough to be comfortable, with a full moon shining. Being this deep in the forest, the stars shine brightly. When I finally arrive to the waterfall I look around but I don't spot Sparks. I walk towards the water and sit against a rock. The water reflecting the moon looked beyond beautiful. The ripples that the waterfall was creating, made the water appear as if it had pieces of broken glass reflecting off of each piece. I dip a foot into the water. It cool but not cold. I look around and still don't see Sparks. I really hope something didn't come up.

I look back to the water and smile.

''Welp, I better make my last day of freedom worth it.'' I say to myself. I take off my black hoodie, along with my pants. I remove my shirt and I'm left with my black underwear and bra. I set my clothes aside, making sure to keep them in a dry place.

I smile widely as I step into the small body of water. I feel the water round my feet and it excites me. It feels as if I'm doing something wild, swimming at night in a waterfall? My father would have a heartattck. I continue to step inside until I'm fully submerged.

I giggle to myself and push myself onto my back, Swimming round on my back with my eyes closed. It felt relaxing. The ripples of the waterfall guiding me back and forth on the water. The warm air hitting my face as I float around. Lost in my thoughts I didn't pay attention to what was going on around me, until all of a sudden I heard a voice.

''Swimming at night isn't the safest thing to do, you like trouble don't you?'' The voice startles me and I sink into the water, quickly standing on my feet, the water reaching my shoulders. I look over to see Sparks laughing next to me. When did he get here? I must have been so relaxed that I didn't hear him over the sound of the waterfall and how good the water felt.

''Sparks! You scared me!''

''You're lucky it was just me.'' I roll my eyes.

''Sorry for getting here late, I was dealing with a few things.'' He says.

''Like?'' I ask.

''Nothing worth talking about princess, now why don't you tell me why you decided to go for a swim.'' I playfully splash water around.

''I've never swam in a lake before, and the water feels good. The waterfall also looks very beautiful. I just wanted to have a little fun.'' I say splashing water at him.

''Fun? Hmmm..'' Sparks dives into the water an I'm confused as to where he swam off to.

'Sparks?'' I look around, waiting for him to come up. I'm then lifted up and thrown across the water.

''Wah!" I exclaim. I get onto my feet again, shaking the water from my face. I see Sparks grinning.

''Wasn't that fun?'' I splash water at him.

''Maybe it would be if you would warn me.'' I say with a giggle. He swims towards me.

''I think surprise are more fun.'' He says. He gets close to me and we are soon facing each other. His wet fur makes him look even more attractive then before, I blush and look up at the moon.

''Am I making you nervous?'' He says with a cocky grin. I blow raspberries.

''Only because I'm not sure what other prank you're going to pull.' I say. He puts his face close to mine, looking into my eyes.

''How about now?'' I blush but find myself mesmerized with his eyes. The beautiful moon reflecting off the water made his eyes sparkle. I look down at his lips. Sparks gets closer to me. I do the same. My heart beats fast and I find it hard to control myself. I know what I want. But… I can't have it.

I look away clearing my throat. Sparks does the same.

''Sparks… I need to talk to you about something…'' I say, looking away.

''I do too.'' I hear him say. I look over at him, his face now serious. I nod with a soft smile and we both start walking out of the water. I walk over to a rock, big enough for both of us to sit on. Feeling the breeze through my fur made me shiver.

''Maybe swimming without a towel to dry off in or extra clothes isn't a good idea.'' I say sheepishly while sitting down, wrapping my tail around me. Sparks walks towards me, but not before picking up his black jacket that was set aside with his other clothing. He hands the jacket to me.

''Here wrap this around you.'' I slowly take his jacket.

''What about you?'' I ask. He smirks as he sits.

''I don't need a jacket, I'm a strong man, my muscle keeps me warm.'' He says. I roll my eyes with a smile.

''Thank you.'' He nods. I look down at my hands, thumbs twirling. I don't know where to start. Do I just come out and say it? How will he take the news? Will he hate me? Even if tonight is the last time I'm going to see him, I don't want him remembering me as a liar or feeling spite.

I sigh.

''Sparks.. I-''

''Nova!'' I get startled when I hear someone yell my name. My eyes widen and I freeze.

''Who in the heck…'' I hear Sparks trail off as he gets up. I'm frozen and time seems like it has switched to slow motion. It can't be. How?...

''Nova! There you are!'' I slowly turn my head to see William, on his horse, with a glare on his face. I look over at Sparks and he's throwing on his clothes.

''Step away from her!'' William yells.

''Watch who you're yelling-'' William cuts off Sparks.

''If you don't get away from the princess I will be sure to have you executed!'' I quickly stand up.

''Princess?...'' Sparks says in confusion.

''William! Please, I'm okay.''

''Nova! Come here now!'' I clench my fists. I want to look over at Sparks but I'm too afraid to. I slowly collect my clothes and walk towards William.

''Hey! Who are you to be bossing her around like that!'' Sparks starts walking towards me and William glares as he puts his horse between us, cutting off Sparks.

''Don't you dare get any closer. Leave my fiancé be! Whatever you were trying to pull off, I wont allow street rat!'' I gasp and look over at Sparks. His stare slowly trails from William to me.

''Fiancé?...''

I look down at the ground and William steps off his horse to start helping me get on.

''I got it!'' I say, angry at him.

He continues to help me on.

William hops back on the horse and Sparks still looks confused. He's standing there with both hands on his sides. Looking at me. Expecting answers.

William scoffs at him.

''You're lucky I don't have you killed.'' Sparks gave him a hard glare and before William can move another inch, Sparks reaches forward and grabs my wrist.

''Nova?...'' He looks at me confused and angry.

''Spar-'' William takes his gun out and points it at Sparks. I gasp and push Sparks' hand away.

''William no! Sparks! Go!'' Sparks backs away a little and William lowers his gun with a glare.

''Please..''I whisper.

''Don't you ever touch her again, you street rat!'' He then kicks his horse and we both ride off. Leaving a sad and confused Sparks behind. What have I done.
