Nova's POV
When William and I finally arrived home. I was scared. I was afraid on what he would say to me, or do. Did he tell my father? Is Sparks safe even though William now knows what I've been up to? I had so many questions and so much fear running through me. How did William find me? Was he waiting for me to leave to follow me?
I frown as I look down at the ground, William stopped his horse behind the house wall, where I normally climb down from to escape.
He stays silent but we continue to stay on top of his horse. He doesn't look at me. He must be very angry I'm afraid.
With a deep breath he gets off his horse and I slowly follow, jumping off but tripping, I had all my clothes in my hand and as I stepped off the horse, it all fell on the ground. I trip and fall along with it, landing on the small pile of clothes. I grip Sparks' jacket that I had on tightly and continue to sit on the floor by my clothes, avoiding eye contact with William. The dark night around us, silent. Nothing to be heard but our breathing and his horse taking a few steps as he eats some grass. I hear William start to laugh. I look down more and close my eyes.
''So that's what you've been doing when you sneak off….. Sleeping with some disgusting street rat..'' I stay silent. I hear the anger in his voice.
''Look at me Nova.'' He says flatly. I grip the jacket tighter but avoid eye contact once again.
''I said LOOK AT ME!'' He reaches for me and grabs my shoulders, lifting me up and pinning me hard against the concrete wall. I gasp and shiver as he holds my arms tightly, making me face him standing up.
''Am I a joke to you? Do you think you can go off and sleep with another man while I wait for us to finally be committed? Is that why you wanted me to let you sneak off? Ha! I thought you were just wandering around the walls looking at the damn stars. But little did I know…'' I stare at him, I don't know what to say.
''Answer me! Is that why you wanted our announcement to be postponed for tomorrow?! So you can sleep with another!'' I feel tears swelling in my eyes, there's so much emotion running through me.
He glares at me and lets me go. I lean against the wall hugging myself. He begins to laugh again, covering his eyes with his hand as he laughs. I look away.
''I'm getting real mad Nova….'' I look at him and his fist comes flying towards me, I thought he was going to hit me, but he lands his fists next to my head, hitting the wall. He grabs my arm with his other hand and glares as he leans in.
''I deserve an explanation!'' He yells. I shiver with fear.
''I-I…'' I stutter.
''I didn't sleep with anyone!'' I yell at him. He glares.
''Doubtful! Then what kind of relationship do you have with that rat! You guys were awfully close when I arrived!'' I take a deep breath, gathering my courage. I push his arm away from mine.
''Let me go William. I didn't sleep with anyone, he was just a friend showing me around town!'' He laughs.
''Oh yea, a friend. How was it swimming in your underwear with your friend!'' He rips the jacket off of me, making me shiver as the cool wind passes through my exposed fur. I go to grab the jacket again but he pins me against the wall.
''William stop!'' I yell.
''I was nice to you, just for you to go off and be a slut!'' He grabs my wrists, pinning them against the wall.
''You're mine and if you need me to remind you of that, then I will!'' He kisses me , causing my face to scrunch up in disgust. But I don't pull away. He's angry enough and I'm afraid. The fact that we are behind the wall and not already inside, or the town being awoken by gaurds that I'm missing, must mean that he hasn't told my dad yet if he plans on it.
He lets go of my wrists, grabbing my waist hard. He kisses rough, and I hate it. He's always been rough and gross. Finally, he breaks the kiss and looks at me.
''Now you want to behave…'' He says.
''I never slept with anyone. I was just curious on what the town was like!'' I exclaimed. He glares at me.
''Please don't hurt him! Or tell father! I'll do anything you ask! He innocent. He didn't even know I was the princess-'' He cut me off laughing.
''Didn't know?! How oblivious can you be Nova. Do you know what his kind does? They take stupid rich girls like you for money! You think he was trying to be your friend? Ha! More like make you trust him enough so he can either sneak into your home and steal, or kidnap you!'''
''He wouldn't do that! If he wanted to kidnap me he would of done so already!''
''Please Nova, I thought you were smarter then this. There's only one thing those rats think of and its money. If you honestly think he cared about you even a little then you're dumber then I thought.'' I glare at him. Sparks wouldn't do that right? He… He and I were friends. But…
''I'm not going to tell your father what you did. Mostly because he would be greatly disappointed. I don't want anything to ruin our announcement day.'' He lets go off me.
''Never leave the walls again. Next time I'll have him killed.'' I nod slowly as I hug myself. His instructions don't matter. I wasn't planning on seeing Sparks ever again after today. I'm aware that my little fairytale has ended. Without a happy ending.
Sparks' POV
I'll kill him. Who did he think he was pointing that gun at me.
''Wow Sparks, another drink? I didn't know today you felt like partying!'' Otto exclaimed, his voice ringing in my ear, it could have been the drinks making my head spin or his loud voice.
I stay silent and continue to take another shot of tequila. I was sitting downstairs at our secret bar in ur meeting room. I didn't feel like hearing the loud music and monkies dancing around me. If it wasn't for these sound proof walls, I would be going insane right now. I am defiantly not in the mood.
''Let me take one with you!'' Yelled Otto with a huge grin, grabbing a shot glass. I grab the tequila bottle and take a drink straight from it. Otto stares at me with a puzzled look at first but then gives me a cheeky smile.
''Oh.. I know what's going on here…'' He says, teasing me. I look at him with a cocked eyebrow.
''Oh? Do you?'' I say nonchalantly.
''I think we all do.'' Says Louis, coming downstairs. I growl and turn my back towards him, facing the bar and slouching over.
''You haven't stopped drinking since you got here, did your little girlfriend-'' I stand up immediately and throw the bottle against the wall.
''Shut up Louis! I'm not in the mood for any of your stupid jokes!'' I yell. Louis smirks and crosses his arms across his chest. I glare.
''It's 4 in the morning Sparks. Even the bar tenders upstairs are beginning to lock up for the public. And you're still here drinking. I think we all know what's going on.'' I glare at him harder but he just walks towards me.
''Me and Otto are heading off to the other side of town today, I've heard there's going to be a celebration that has to do with the royal family. A great opportunity to scout anyone and maybe steal from a couple houses since they're all going to be distracted. Clean yourself up. You have to be ready for tonight just in case we set target on any house we want you to head to.''
A celebration today?
''When…w-when is the celebration..'' I begin to slur my words. Catching myself a little bit.
''It's at six in the afternoon.''
''Let..me come..'' I say.
''I don't think so. You reek of alcohol, you won't even be allowed to enter one of their corner stores before they kick back over here.''
I sit down at the bar again.
''You said at six… I'll beee fine.'' I say, placing my hand on my head.
''.. Okay then. Pull yourself together.'' Otto and Louis step out and I'm left by myself. Thoughts roaming through my head. Crazy ones, stupid ones. My fists tighten.
What was she looking for?! Another idiot peasant to have fun with? She made a fool of me, probably thought it was hilarious that I didn't recognize her. I should of known something was up when Louis said she looked familiar. He goes into the rich side of town often, unlike me, I do most of the work during night, never really paying any attention to the royal family. But even then, I've heard rumors of the royal family having a secret daughter, but only a few have seen her. I've never payed attention to those rumors. I never cared. Do I care now? Why do I care so much now? Is it because she hurt my ego? No… It's because she made me feel things that I've never felt before. Things that I wanted to continue feeling.
I glare at my hands. And that guy! Her fiancé? I'll kill him. She was engaged this whole time and decided to make a fool like me fall for her?
Fall for her. Yea. That's why I'm so angry.
I hook my head, snapping back to my reality.
''This alcohol…'' I groan.
My thoughts easily go right back to her again. But she's one of them? One of the royals. Those cruel people that I've been waiting to get my revenge on for years…
I soften my gaze. My revenge.. That's it…
Maybe this is my opportunity. She had to have felt something with me too, right? She trusts me…
I stand up, halfway stumbling.
''I'll show you who is the fool…'' I mutter to myself, stepping out.
Nova's POV
I stare at myself in the mirror. I wore a light brown gown. Long skirt, covering my feet, lacy chest piece, strapless, with a tight corset, showing off my curves.
''You look beautiful Nova.'' My Nanna says.
''Your first official appearance to the town as an engaged women. How do you feel?'' She smiles at me. I sigh and sit down on my bed.
''Nanna. I'm not happy, I don't want to do this..'' I say looking down. My Nanna sits next to me, placing her hands on mine.
''I know sweetie. But I feel like its inevitable. Lets try to make the best about it.''
''Nanna… I… I have to tell you something..' She smiles.
''I'm all ears.''
I wanted to tell her about my adventures. About Sparks. About everything. I trust her. She's like a second mother to me. She was my mom's best friend before she passed. Her and my mom were always extremely close. I take a deep breathe.
''I…'' A loud knock comes from my door.
''Come on Nova! It's time!'' My Nanna gives my hands a squeeze.
''We'll talk after, okay?'' I smile and nod at her. We both get up and open the door to my father waiting for me. He smiles widely.
''You look beautiful Nova! William is already waiting for us up at the balcony where the announcement will be made! Shall we go?'' He holds his arm out to me. I nod with a small smile.
The walk to the balcony seemed to take no time at all. I wanted more time but I knew my time was up. This is my destiny and I sadly can't change it. Reaching the huge balcony doors, we step out and I see William and his father standing there with grins. I see the town, I could see people running around and gathering up. The gates are open and crowds of people dressed in nice gowns are seated. I see the front lawn had tables for people to sit in, along with beautiful decorations, along the walls and floor. I'm able to somewhat peer down at everyone, but not enough to have them see me yet. I see William and his dad approach us.
''Well the time has finally come!'' Says my father happily.
''I'm happy to have my son and your daughter become one my dear friend, uniting our families and towns!''
I smile at Enzo, Williams father.
''I'm happy to announce to everyone who my soon to be wife is going to be.'' Says William as he grabs my hand and kisses it, locking my arm to his.
''The ceremony is about to begin!''
Sparks POV
I was barely able to put myself together before Otto and Louis were ready to head to the rich part of town. I dressed nicely and bathed, hoping I didn't smell of alcohol anymore. I wasn't drunk anymore but had a slight headache. Could be the alcohol or could be the fact that I haven't slept.
Making sure my shirt is tucked in nicely, Otto and Louis step into the bar.
''You cleaned up nicely.'' Says Louis.
''When don't I.'' I say smugly.
''Back to your old self?'' Says Otto. I push him playfully.
''Please, I just drank a little too much.''
''A little?''
Louis sits down on a chair, facing us.
''We're going to have to blend in as always. Getting past where our town splits from theirs isn't very hard, I suppose most police are going to be up by the royal house, making sure nothing get out of hand, but we can't be too reckless. As long as we blend in, we will be fine.'' I cross my arms as he says this.
''I know, I know. This isn't my first time going over there in the daytime.'' I say.
''Just making sure.''
I scoff and we head off. I know why Louis and Otto were heading over, but I didn't tell them why I was. While they're going to be looking for things to take or girls to seduce enough to steal from, I'm heading for the big prize. This is what I've always been waiting for, and this is my chance.
Your lives wont be in vain mom an dad. I'll be sure of that. They took from me when I was just a little boy. I needed you guys. I was helpless. But they didn't care. None of them did! I'll be sure to hit that 'king' where it hurts the most.

The town was crazy, seeing everyone run around, trying to get passed the streets was near impossible. The huge crowd forming in front of the royal house was insane. We were stuck in the middle, trying to get through. I looked around, I don't remember the last time I came here during the day.
We stood by a busy tore, Louis leaning against the wall.
''Everyone is super distracted right now. Follow me-''
Before Louis could finish speaking, we heard loud horns being blown coming from the royal house. The crowd went silent.
''I guess the ceremony is beginning. Co-'' I ignore Louis and I speed walk towards the huge gate doors from the Royal house. I need to get inside.
I try squeezing by but the crowd is huge. I squeeze by until I finally make it inside. I heard some monkies making rude remarks or groaning at me but I ignored it. When I was finally inside, I looked around. I saw the people who were able to get seats, sitting down and the crowd slowly moving into the huge lawn. Everything was decorate nicely with roses and the floor had nice gray carpet rugs to walk on. I walked towards a buffet table that was serving food.
The food smelled amazing. Of course nothing but the best for these people. I swipe a couple shrimps, throwing them into my mouth. I spot a bar at the corner of the lawn. At least I thought it was a bar. I see them serving glasses of wine and cocktails. I feel a hand on my shoulder.
''Sparks, why are you here? We're suppose to be-'' I cut off Louis.
''I was curious on what this announcement is about. Why don't we stick by for a little.'' I say, walking towards the wine bar. Louis and Otto follow.
''Since when do you care to be in here?''
''It must be an important announcement don't you think? They opened their gates to the town.'' I state. He crosses his arms.
''I thought you could barley stand to be around these people and now you're going to drink wine with them? ''
''Relax, maybe I'll be the one to seduce a rich chick this time.'' I say smirking at him. I grab a glass wine thats being served.
''How about we stay for a little?'' Says Otto sheepishly, inching towards the buffet.
''That's my job.'' Louis says flatly to me, ignoring Otto.
I ignore him as I take a sip of the wine. It dries my mouth. I could tell this stuff was expensive.
''Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome and thank you for coming to this very important ceremony!''
Everyone claps. I watch the robot monkey that's standing up in the large balcony facing us. It's him. The ruler of this town. My fist tightens. Bastard.
''As you are all aware, my time as ruler of this beautiful town is almost coming to an end! And because of that, I am here to announce who will be taking my place very soon! Some of you may be aware but my daughter, Nova, Is to be engaged to William! The prince of the kingdom over! They will marry, uniting us forever!''
I hear everyone cheer. Nova?.. That was her, right? I stare up and I see her step out. My eyes widen and my heart stops a little. All the anger I was feeling this morning, washed away the moment I looked at her. Her fur shined as the sun hit it just right. She looked beautiful in her dress.
The moment was quickly ruined, because out also stepped the monkey that threatened me. I grip the wine glass hard and I see them locking arms.
''Please, welcome my beautiful daughter Nova, and her fiancé William!''
I hear everyone clapping and cheering as my ears ring. So this is how it is. She was just making a fool of me.
''Hey… Isn't that your little girlfriend?'' I hear Louis say. I look over towards him and Otto also stares at me with a plate full of chocolate strawberries. I stay quiet.
''So that's where I recognized her from. She is, isn't she!'' Louis comes closer to me.
''I don't know if you're smart or dumb Sparky. Are you trying to win the grand prize by messing with the kings daughter? How did you even manage to talk to her? '' He whispers in my ear. I shove him away lightly.
''I told you Louis..'' I look back at them.
''One day I was going to get my revenge..''
Louis laughs at me.
''I'm all for some hard game Sparks. But you'll get yourself killed if the king finds out you're messing around with his daughter.'' He whispers to me again. I pour the rest of the wine by a nearby plant.
''Don't you worry Louis. He won't'' I say. Louis throws his arm over mine and Otto's shoulders.
''Well boys. Looks like soon, we're going to be very rich. With the profit we can make with her, we can leave this horrible town.'' He says quietly with a chuckle.
Rich. I didn't care about being rich. I wanted my revenge. The revenge I've been longing for a long time. I tune everyone out as I look back at Nova. I'll get my revenge on you too. I'm not some fool. I knew what I was feeling was stupid. Things like that and me don't go together.
Everyone starts cheering loudly again and I see William and Nova wave at everyone. William steps aside to talk, I tune him out right away. I'll kill you.
I see Nova rest her hands on the balcony as she smiles down at everyone, looking around. I continue to stare at her. A frown falling on my face.
''We're friends right?''
The memory of her asking if we were friends came to mind. I thought we were. I thought I could trust someone. But not her. Not someone of her kind.
Nova then locks eyes with me. I know she has spotted me. I feel the world around us disappear and its like its just us two right there. I see her eyes slightly widen and she looks away. I smirk to myself. Looks like its time for my plan to begin.
She looks down but I continue to stare at her, hoping she feels my gaze. And she does. She cant help but look at me again, William finishes his speech and instead of cheering, I hold my empty wine glass at her with a smirk. I'll see you tonight.
