Nova's POV

He's here! But… why is he here? Spotting him in the crowd made my knees weak. He didn't look angry or upset. He held his wine glass up towards and gave me one of his smirks. Maybe he doesn't hate me? But he looked so angry and confused last night. I look towards William, hoping he hadn't seen Sparks. But he's too distracted waving at the crowd. I let out a sigh of relief.

I look towards Sparks again and I see he's already left. I feel disappointed but relieved that he did. I wouldn't want William spotting him in the crowd. He would go mad.

''Please everyone! Enjoy the food and drinks, tonight we celebrate!'' My father finishes up and walks towards me, embracing me in a hug.

''I'm so happy for you Nova, William will be an amazing husband for you.''

''You can count on that.'' Says William, taking my arm again. My father happily holds his hands together.

''Shall we join our guests? A seating area for us has been set up.'' I nod with a smile and we all head downstairs, exiting the house, towards the celebration. They clap for us and bow as we walk towards our seats. I feel everyone's eyes on me. It felt strange to have so much attention on me. My father has kept me locked up every since my mothers passing, fear of history repeating itself. We all sit down and wine glasses are brought to us.

I watch as some people approach us to give us their blessings or bow. I offer a nice smile and nod, just like my father taught me. The time goes by slowly. Watching everyone dance in their beautiful gowns has began to bore me. I've been sitting here, and the sun has finally went down. Nice lights are lighting up the lawn and tables, people drinking their wine and laughter going around.

''Come on Nova. Don't you want to go around and meet some of your guests?'' I look at my father. I don't want to talk to anyone. The amount of things going through my head is enough.

''Sure, I guess.'' I say. He smiles at me. I stand up and walk through everyone. I hear them congratulate me and offer me a smile. I'm as friendly as I possibly can be, finally being able to walk towards the side of the house, keeping my head low, hiding between some bushes and trees that covered the lawn. The side of the house is darker, most lighting is at the front where the guests are, I shouldn't be spotted easily here. I lean against the wall, peeking the corner, making sure no one saw me. Or followed me.

''Finally…'' I mutter to myself. I begin to back away a bit more into the dark until I feel myself bump into someone. I freeze and feel the person behind me cover my mouth. My hand fly to their hands, trying to set myself free. My screams are muffled. No one will be able to hear me.

''Shhhh princess… it's only me.'' I hear someone whisper. I stopped struggling and the person lets me go. I turn around rapidly and Sparks flashes me a grin. I glare.

''Why would you do that!'' I yell. He holds his hands up.

''Shhh, you don't want us getting caught here, now do you?'' I soften my glare.

''Besides, you deserved a good scare after lying to me Nova.'' He says while crossing his arms. I hug myself in a guilty way. He doesn't appear to be angry.

''I'm sorry Sparks. I was going to tell you! I promise I was! I just… ran out of time..''I say to him. He leans in, and I feel myself blush.

''Don't worry. I'm not mad. I cant be mad at someone like you.'' He smirks at me. Everything about him made me weak.

''So is our little adventure over?''

I nod slowly.

''I can't risk it anymore. I'm probably going to be watched over a lot.'' I say. He then grabs me by the waist and pulls me in. Surprised, I stare at him, with my hands on his arms.

''So how about we start another adventure?'' He whispers to me. I gulp. He's being so forward.

''W-what do you mean?..'' I say nervously.

He smiles at me and leans in.

''You know what I mean Nova. I don't want our adventure to end just because of him. Unless you do?..'' I gulp. He's so close to me.

''I-I…I don't but-''

''Then?''

''I thought you would hate me… I am a princess..'' I say. He leans back. Still holding me.

''I thought so too but… I can't Nova.''

''Why?''

''I like being with you..'' He says. I blush. I felt happy. Happy he felt this way. I smile at him.

''It makes me happy that you do..'' I say.

I had almost forgotten where me and him were standing. And what we were doing. I cant be doing this anymore. I can't risk being seen with him. It's too dangerous.

I pull away from him, stepping back.

''You need to go.'' I said. He steps towards me.

''But I want to keep talking with you.'' He says. I wrap my arms around myself.

''It's too dangerous for you here, if William sees you, he would want to kill you.'' I say with worry. He scoffs and crosses his arms.

'' That pretty boy? Please. I'm not scared of anyone.''

''I believe you but I am, please go Sparks.''

''Will I see you again?''

I stay quiet. I knew the answer but I didn't want to say it. I wanted to see him everyday. But I wasn't able to sneak out anymore. William will probably keep a sharp eye out for me from now on.

''I-I don't know Sparks, I can't sneak out anymore-''

''Then I'll sneak in.'' He says.

''In my room?'' I say with a shaky voice. He smirks.

''You trust me, don't you?" He smiles at me smugly.

''Y-yea but…'' I knew it wasn't the best idea to have him sneak in. Being caught is one thing but being in a room with him alone is another. He gives me a wonderful feeling. I'm afraid to fall deeper for him then I've already have. But of course I didn't do the right thing here.

''Okay then. But please be careful, my room is the one facing the big garden in the back, It'll be the only room with the balcony doors open and pink curtains.'' I say. He smiles at me.

''If you were able to sneak out then it should be a piece of cake for me to sneak in.''

I roll my eyes.

''Just don't get caught.'' I say teasing him.

''Have you seen princess Nova?''

My eyes widen as I hear Williams voice asking for me, I peak around the corner and he's talking to a few guests.

''You have to go now.'' I say to Sparks, nudging him.

''Yea, yea I'm going. I'll see you soon princess.'' He winks at me and runs off into the dark stalls where the horses are kept. I let out a sigh of relief.

''Nova, there you are, what are you doing hiding over here?'' Asks William.

''I just wanted to get away from everything.'' I say, placing my hands behind my back. He looks at me almost like he didn't believe me, but he didn't push it.

''You look amazing today.'' He says getting closer to me. I step back a little.

''Thank you..'' I say.

''Why are you stepping back? You're my fiancé, come here.'' He grabs me by the waist and holds me close. I let him.

''You drive me crazy, you know that? I can't wait to finally be able to share a bed with you.'' The thought of that made me almost gag. I remained quiet. He grabs my chin, making me face him until my eyes met his. Then he kisses me, harshly. I kissed him back but he hugged me tightly and kissed me deeply. His kiss was strong and gross. Almost like he couldn't control himself.

He breaks the kiss and smiles at me.

''I like when you behave.'' He says. I roll my eyes.

''Come on..'' I say, walking back to the celebration.

The night was long but finally over. After the gates shut again, and saying goodnight to my father I went straight to my room. I was sleepy and tired. Just when I was about to open my door to step into my room, William stops me.

''Goodnight Nova.'' He says.

''Goodnight.'' I mutter. He grabs my arm, leaning into my ear.

''And don't even think about sneaking out. From now on I'm going to make sure there is someone out there looking out.''

I stare at him as he walks past me.

''Idiot…''I mutter to myself.

Stepping into my room I let myself fall onto my bed. Sparks didn't seem angry at me. Maybe he wont hate me after all. I let out a sigh as I sit up. Looking down I see the engagement ring on my finger. My heart sinks. I guess this is my future.

''Why so down?'' I gasp, the sudden voice making me stand and face my balcony. I see Sparks standing there with a smirk.

''Sparks…'' I whisper, walking towards him.

''Told ya I would be here.'' He smugly says. I run towards my door, locking it quietly.

''No one saw you?'' I ask quietly.

''I don't think I would be here if they did. I think your dad needs better security if he's going to try and keep me out.'' He grins. I smile.

''I'm glad you came. I thought…. I thought you would be too upset at me.'' I say, shamefully looking down at my feet.

''Well I can't say I wasn't mad. But I don't hate you….Nova.''

The sound of his voice saying my name made my heart fly. I smile shyly at him. Now that we are alone I can explain myself better.

''I'm sorry Spark. I was going to tell you! I promise! But then William came and..''

''Shh, It's okay. No need to get all worked up. I still want an explanation but calm down.'' He says with a chuckle. I sigh and we both sit on the edge of my bed.

''Why didn't you tell me your real name?'' He asks.

''At first it was because I didn't want to be discovered. I didn't want anyone to find out who I was. I didn't want my father to find out that I was sneaking out. Going into town is forbidden. Especially your side of town….''

''Well seeing how roughly you adapted, maybe you should of listened.'' He teased. I push him jokingly.

''I wanted to explore the town. I felt lonely and sad here. I cant talk to anyone or have any real friends. My father forbids it.''

''Not even with the snobby rich folk?'' He asks. I shake my head.

''I was raised to believe that my only purpose is to find someone worthy to marry and have children. To keep the royal family strong and to go on.'' I say. I look down at my hands. I was very lonely here alone. Sparks places a hand on top of mine.

''But you want more?'' He asks. I nod.

''But Nova, you have this huge home. Protection, power, and you're rich. What else could you possibly want?'' He asks.

''I know, I probably sound ungrateful but I just want to be a normal girl. I don't want this responsibility or the power. I just want friends, love… I want to make my own choices…'' I trail off. Sparks stares at me in disbelief.

''Ever since…. My mother passed away, my father changed. He didn't let me see anyone he didn't approve of first and it was all learning how to be a proper princess since I was little. He became distant and rarely payed attention to me, let alone listen. He found William, a great prince for me to marry. But he doesn't understand, I'm not in love and William isn't someone I want to be with.''

I feel tears flooding my eyes. Whenever I think of my mom it makes me sad. I miss the time with her, our family when she was alive.

''But you're going to marry anyway?'' He asks.

I nod slowly.

''I have no other choice…'' I say. Sparks squeezes my hand.

''What about running away?''

Run away? No, I cant do that. Who will I go to? I barely know this world. Where would I go? I stand up, facing my balcony.

''I can't do that Sparks… I have no where to go, no one to go to…..'' I say. I feel Sparks wrap his arms around me from behind. He hugs me.

It felt so nice to be close to him. His arms hugging me made me melt, I wanted to stay like this forever.

''What if you come with me?'' I hear him say.

''I can't do that, if anyone finds us, you'll be killed!'' I say, facing him, his arms remained wrapped around me. He smirks.

''That's would be hard for them…'' He says.

''My father will do anything in his power to find me. I can't risk you getting hurt.'' I say with worry. He leans in.

''Care about me that much?'' He teases. I roll my eyes.

''Besides, where would we go?''

''Well you wanted adventure no? We can go anywhere we want Nova. Just me and you.'' I look into his eyes. Just me and him. I sigh sadly, looking down.

''But my father…. I can't leave…''

''But what about you Nova? Your happiness?'' He lifts my head by my chin to look at him, the moonlight coming from my balcony made his red fur look a beautiful dark maroon color.

''I wouldn't mind having you with me…'' He whispers. He gives a warm smile.

''Spark… I'm-''

''Don't say anything yet. Answer my question first, did our time together mean anything more to you?''

I feel myself blush. Of course it did. It meant the entire world to me. I'm in love with you.

''I-I, Sparks, don't ask me something like that.'' I shyly look at him.

''Why not? I think you owe me an answer to any question I got after that little thing you pulled with me.'' He says.

''I know, it's just…''

''Or was I just an exciting game for you?'' He asks.

''No! of course not.''

''Then?'' He leans in closer.

I stay quiet. It wouldn't be fair for him. I'm soon to marry. He has to find his happiness with someone else, even if it means losing my own. I can't hurt him, and I can't risk him getting hurt.

''I don't think we should see each other again Sparks. Its dangerous and-''

''I thought you liked danger..'' He smirks. I melt. I don't have the strength to tell him to leave.

''I don't want to bring you any trouble Sparks.''

''What if I want it? What if I was willing to risk it?''

He wraps his arms around my waist tighter, closing any space between us.

''But why?'' I ask.

''I can show you.'' He says, leaning in and kissing me.
