Yi Jung exhaled deeply as he stood near the cabin's front door, observing the view outside. The sun was out and the wind passed calmly across the island. The sand was all dry, even with the great amount of rain from the day before, if felt as if it hadn't rained at all. Yi Jung quietly waited; he knew he had already lost, there wasn't anything that could help him today.
"Omo! Ga Eul you look so cute!" Jan Di complimented Ga Eul, as she came of the bathroom wearing a light pink fluffy lace skirt, which went down her thighs, and stood an inch above her knees. She matched the skirt with a white cotton shirt, and black flats, with a small heel on the bottom. Topping everything with a net light brown hat.
"I don't know Jan Di, but I think it is too much… I know you were trying to help but I think I will go change."
Ga Eul was about to head back into the bathroom, but Jan Di grabbed her hand, "Ga Eul trust me this is perfect. Please don't change." Jan Di pouted and her pupils became dark, but in a cute pleasing way. Ga Eul sighed and passed Jan Di a soft smile. "Okay, I won't...By the way have you seen Jae Rim? I was meaning to talk to him before we leave."
"No I haven't, but I am sure he will show up soon. Probably with the boys." Jan Di smiled and Ga Eul mirrored her expressions.
"Yah what kind of dare was that anyway?" Woo Bin questioned as he fixed his hair in front of the tall mirror.
"Well, I believe it is the greatest dare ever." Ji Hoo responded with a smirk hanging on the corner of his lips, while adjusting his white net hat on his head.
"Woo Bin turned around and looked at Ji Hoo curiously. "You aren't planning to really get them close are you?" Woo Bin raised his eyebrows and Ji Hoo chuckled upon hearing his friends question.
"Of course I am, what else does it look like?" This made Woo Bin's temper increase slightly.
"Yah! Whose side are you on? You know Yi Jung doesn't like that girl!"
"Well firstly 'that girl' her name is Ga Eul. No matter what, Yi Jung is my best friend and Ga Eul is my sister from now on, and I am thinking the best for both of them." Ji Hoo commented as he was now all set to go.
"How can you possibly be thinking the best for both of them? Yi Jung has lines of girls waiting for him, he can have any, anytime. How can you make someone you met two days ago, your sister? What is wrong with you Ji Hoo?" Woo Bin continued to question, even though his words were bitter, Woo Bin knew they were right to ask.
Ji Hoo's lips formed a straight line as he faced Woo Bin, "for how long?"
"Huh. What do you mean?"
"How long will Yi Jung continue to wake up every morning with a new girl, whose name he can't even remember? How long will you continue to pick him up from the bar since he becomes so drunk? How long do you want to see your friend cry in pain, seeing his family being broken up and he is abandoned and left alone?"
Woo Bin was taken aback by what Ji Hoo said, he himself didn't really think about that deeply, and he was suppose to be Yi Jung`s best friend. Ji Hoo placed his hand over Woo Bin`s shoulder and smiled at him, Woo Bin lifted his head, and slowly made eye contact with Ji Hoo.
"I think it is time for Yi Jung to receive true happiness. I want him to wake up every morning smiling, and not with a headache. I want him to proudly remember the girl who will always be by his side, and not some stranger. Ga Eul will help fill up the gap Yi Jung has always received from his family. She will make him happy always. I can guarantee you that." Woo Bin nodded his head understanding Ji Hoo`s words, but then something popped in his head as he was agreeing.
"What about Eun Jae? You know how much Yi Jung has liked her, since he was little."
"Has she ever given him a positive response? She only goes to him when she wants to or needs to, but temporary happiness is not what I want Yi Jung to get. I know Ga Eul is the only one who can give Yi Jung the lifetime happiness he deserves, I promise. By the way I need you to make sure Eun Jae does not go with Yi Jung, make sure to hold her back so she only goes with us."
"Alright, but it better help Yi Jung. I will make sure Eun Jae isn't near him today. You just keep your promise and I will keep mine." Woo bin replied with a firm agreement as he reached out his hand, Ji Hoo smiled and shook it, "I promise."
Being all set to go, Jun Pyo walked up to the cabin's front door, he witnessed the Casanova having his arms folded across his chest and leaning against the edge of the door watching the view. Jun Pyo knew this was a call for help, and he knew he was a great problem solver. He walks up to Yi Jung and hits his back, fast enough to surprise Yi Jung and hard enough to make his back hurt a little.
"Aish! What was that for?" Yi Jung yelled as he rubbed his back as far as he could reach.
"So what's bothering you?" Jun Pyo asked right away.
"What do you mean?"
"Yi Jung I know you long enough to know you are upset." Jun Pyo raised his eyebrow and looked at Yi Jung. Yi Jung went back into his desperate position he was in and shifted his view back outside.
"It's because of Ga Eul right?" Still, Yi Jung gave no response.
"Listen, I am sure it won't be that bad." Yi Jung's head snapped and he faces Jun Pyo with eyes screaming out anger.
"Not bad! Do you even know me at all? I can barely tolerate that girl, let alone spend hours touring her!"
"Woah! Calm down first. Listen it won't be bad, because maybe you don't have to spend much time with her."
"What do you mean?"
"Okay so I heard Jan Di say, Ga Eul likes high places, how about you take her to the area above the village, there is a higher mountain area, where no one has dared to go. I can assure you Ga Eul will, and if you are lucky enough she might hurt herself. She will have to stay in the cabin while you come with us and have real fun."
"What if there is a chance of her not getting hurt?"
"Well then you have to plan something, to make sure she does. Remember how we alway do?" Jun Pyo flashed Yi Jung a smirk and Yi Jung did the same. As a thought came to mind, Yi Jung headed for his room.
As Yi Jung left, Jun Pyo was surprised to see Ji Hoo standing there in front of him.
"Yeah what are you trying to do? What kind of stupid advice is this to get Ga Eul hurt? I am going to go tell Jan Di right now!" Ji Hoo was about to walk away when Jun Pyo grabbed his arm, "yeah you crazy? She will hate me!"
"Well that's what you get for giving Yi Jung such stupid advice!" Ji Hoo crossed his arms in front of his chest, and glared towards Jun Pyo in anger.
Jun Pyo's pressed his lips together and exhaled deeply before opening his mouth, "listen I know what I told Yi Jung to do is harsh, but trust me it will knock some sense into him."
Ji Hoo raised his eyebrow, his lips remained a straight line, "really? You what me to believe that him hurting Ga Eul will knock some sense into him?"
"Okay, I know Ga Eul will receive some pain, but trust me, it will make Yi Jung change. I thought this through and this is the best way to get them closer."
"How can I believe you, someone who hates Ga Eul as well?" Ji Hoo still remained unpersuaded by Jun Pyo`s words.
Jun Pyo's eyebrows knitted together and his lips made an "O" shape as he raised his finger, "okay, one I never hated her. Two I just thought since Yi Jung didn't like her I didn't want to be going against my friend. Three I think it was time we helped her. I mean she is perfect for Yi Jung." Ji hoo was shocked is this really the Great Gu Jun Pyo? "What kind of game are you trying to play?"
"I am not trying play anything with anyone..." Ji Hoo raised his eyebrow unable to believe what Jun Pyo said.
"Fine here is the truth..." Jun Pyo shifted his vision to the side. "Remember the time when we played a prank on this new girl who was in our kindergarten class."
"You mean, 'you' played a prank on her cause you said she was ugly and she was too whiny."
"Well at after that prank, the kidnaping incident happened with me and after that I actually felt what that girl must have. Being abandoned, scared, all alone and surrounded by danger."
"Mhmm..."
"Well that girl turns out to have been Ga Eul... I was just informed today, she came from the same orphanage as that girl and on her file she has the same situation as well, and I just feel as I owe her a lot. Maybe she can never forgive me, but I want to make it up to her and make her happy."
"Wow Jun Pyo you actually have a heart! And it doesn't only work for Jan Di!" Ji Hoo replied with a smile, finally believing Jun Pyo's words.
"Yeah well...Hey!" Jun Pyo raised his finger to argue, but was interrupted by the figures coming their way.
"Yo, ready to go?" Woo Bin asked as he approached them with Yi Jung by his side, before either one could respond, Jan Di and Ga Eul emerged into the direction where everyone stood.
"Let's go?" Everyone nodded.
"But where is Eun Jae?" Ji Hoo was the one to ask, because he needed to be sure.
Jan Di looked at Ga Eul and Ga Eul looked back at Jan Di and then at the same time they look back at the boys and shake their heads. "She wasn't with us." Jan Di answered. This got Ji Hoo worried. Then looking around there was another problem.
"Where is Jae Rim oppa?"Ga Eul questioned, but she received the same answer. No one knew. Everyone become worried, but Ji Hoo couldn't let those two ruin his plan.
"I am sure they will turn up. They are grown ups they will find there way." Ji Hoo smiled trying to cheer everyone up, everyone agreed hearing his words. Ji Hoo took a deep breathe of relief.
"Alright then Yi Jung , Ga Eul after you two." Yi Jung smiled and lead the way, Ga Eul smiled to Jan Di and the boys and they did the same. With that Ga Eul followed up behind Yi Jung.
"So pretty!" Ga Eul yelled as she witnessed the beautiful village below her. Then she turned around facing Yi Jung and began taking selfies with her hand phone. Yi Jung scoffed and looked to the side.
With no other choice, Ga Eul hands Yi Jung the phone. "Can you take my picture?" Yi Jung rolled his eyes upon hearing her request, "you do all tourist things." With that said, he takes the phone from Ga Eul's hand, into his, taking a few pictures, Yi Jung instantly hands back the phone. "Let`s go?"
"Wait…" Ga Eul grabbed Yi Jung`s arm.
"What, you came here, you saw this view, what else is left?"
"We haven't gone up there yet!" With excitement, Ga Eul ran up to the mountain. "Yah, the F4 and I have come here 9 times and I haven't gone there once!" Ga Eul was already out of sight to hear what Yi Jung said. Even though all this was planned, he had to make sure that to her he didn't seem like the bad guy. He turned around and faced the village below him and just thought to himself as he smiled, "everything is working just as planned!"
"Ahhh!" Ga Eul's loud scream was what he waited for, carrying a fake worried look, Yi Jung ran up where Ga Eul went, soon as he reached the top, Ga Eul was nowhere to be found. 'Did she fall down?' Yi Jung thought to himself. He looked down below, just then Ga Eul walked up behind him, "Isn't it great you came up here?" Yi Jung startled turned around, and sighed seeing her in front of him, 'damn it, she is fine.' Yi Jung tried his best to differ his thoughts from his expressions, "you?..." Yi Jung breathlessly questioned.
"That is what you get for dragging me all the way here." Ga Eul smirked and Yi Jung only smiled to her response.
"Well you know it wasn't my choice. Also you weren't the one I wanted to bring along." Yi Jung confessed looking straight into Ga Eul's eyes, but she avoided them.
Ga Eul's smile vanished and she shifted her vision to the side. "Oh… I mean you still got to bring her along. I just hope Jae Rim oppa and Eun Jae unnie are okay."
"They are grown ups, probably having fun with each other."
Ga Eul`s head snaps towards Yi Jung, "Yah! Jae Rim oppa isn't like that!"
Yi Jung couldn't help but chuckle to her response, "what were you just thinking now?"
Ga Eul could feel her cheeks begin to turn red with embarrassment, she looks down trying to hide her face, "let's go…" Ga Eul leads the way, and Yi Jung smiles and follows her.
"By the way, if you don't mind me asking, how did you and Jae Rim meet?" Yi Jung questioned as they slowly walked down the mountain side by side.
"Why?"
"Well I mean it makes me curious, how can a guy be so crazy over a girl like you?" Yi Jung smirked to his own words and looked at Ga Eul, for some reason he saw something, the sun was behind her and it made her eye shine and not only her eyes but her face, Yi Jung couldn't believe he was saying it, but she really was beautiful, how come he never saw that side of her?
Ga Eul scoffed upon hearing his words, "well, he isn't the only one who wanted to be with me, there were many others, but Jae Rim was the only one I trusted." Ga Eul looked up at Yi Jung and witnessed him starting, "hello?" Ga Eul waved her hand in front of Yi Jung`s face and that made him snap back to reality.
"Oh...Sorry about that…" Ga Eul couldn't help but laugh to Yi Jung`s reaction.
"What's so funny?" Yi Jung knitted his eyebrows, but decided to keep his view forward.
"When you are taken by surprise, your reaction is funny." Ga Eul raised his hand to her mouth to cover up her laugh, Yi Jung continued to smile. "So you like something about me?"
"No. I only like Jae Rim oppa." Ga Eul said with confident, as she continued to walk and Yi Jung had stopped walking, for some reason, what Ga Eul said, didn`t sit with him well. But he pushes his thoughts to the side and catches up to Ga Eul, keeping his cool, soon as he reaches her, he keeps up with her slow pace.
"Well maybe that's why me and you are so different. We have different tastes. I mean Jae Rim, he is a complete 0 in front of me!" Yi Jung spoke with confidence as he fixed his hair, but Ga Eul gave no attention to his words.
"Not really, in the rich world yes, but in reality if you two were to compete, Jae Rim oppa would win within the first round."
"How so?" This Yi Jung had to know, what was so great about this Jae Rim anyway?
"Well for starters, he is a great listener, he always put my needs before his. He has always cared for me more than himself. When we were little, he was in the same orphanage as me. I never talked to anyone, he was the one who always tried to make me laugh, he helped me come back to reality. Thanks to him I am here today, or I would have gone mad crying all the time. One time I remembered, when he was 20 and I was only 17, he went out of state to study, and he called me one night and all I did was sneeze, and the next day he was at my doorstep, making sure I was alright." Ga Eul smiled recalling all the memories.
Yi Jung rolled his eyes with disappointment "sounds like a desperate man."
"No, that is whom you call a true man in love. If Eun Jae unnie was sick wouldn't you go make sure she was alright?"
Yi Jung shook his head. "She doesn't like it when we see her sick, she feels uncomfortable, isn't that called love, because she doesn't want me to get sick?"
"Nope." Ga Eul's response made Yi Jung curious. He made sure he listened closely to what Ga Eul had to say. "That is not love Mr. So Yi Jung. If one is too afraid to show you their face when they are at their worst, then they never really want to see you when they are at their best either. In every relationship you need to built trust, that no matter what condition they are in, you will be there for them. That itself will make the one upset or in pain, feel much better."
"What are you a love guru?" Yi Jung joked, Ga Eul laughed upon hearing his question.
"No I am someone in love." Ga Eul didn't really mean it, sure her and Jae Rim were childhood friends but she never felt that way towards him, but the only reason she said all this in front of Yi Jung was to make sure he doesn't think she is lonely in love, if Yi Jung wants to play the game of having a lover while his wife was there, then Ga Eul wasn't any ordinary wife to hold back.
The rest of the walk was silent as they continue to keep their gazes upon the great view present to them. Soon as they reach the bottom, Yi Jung takes a deep sigh, "how about we start over?"
Ga Eul cocks her head towards Yi Jung, "what do you mean?"
"I mean sure we are tied up in a relationship, but even though we have others in our life, we don't have to completely act like strangers, we might even have things in common. So what do you say, want to be my friend Ms. Chu Ga Eul?" Yi Jung extended his hand out to Ga Eul. She took a few minutes to process what just happened, proving to herself this actually is happening, with a smile she shakes Yi Jung`s hand. Yi Jung smiles back at her.
