The coppery fireball leisurely climbed into the pale blue heavens, bathing the glorious realm of Aurelais in its tender blanket of hope. Aurelais had gone from an obsolete monarchy into a more forward-thinking constitutional monarchy. This concept may go over many people's heads.

To simplify, what a constitutional monarchy is? A constitutional monarchy is a system of government in which a monarch shares power with a constitutionally organized government. The monarch may be the de facto head of state or a purely ceremonial leader. The constitution allocates the rest of the government's power to the legislature and judiciary.

It is also called a limited monarchy. A monarch is the head of state. However, they must follow a constitution. Most constitutional monarchies use a parliamentary system. Constitutional monarchs embody and represent the legitimate constitutional authority of the state. They are performing ceremonial and official functions in which the identity and control of the state as such. Rather than that of the incumbent government, it is emphasized.

King Charles and Queen Cinderella worked hard for nearly two decades to reform Aurelais. But, unfortunately, it hadn't been effortless to undo the ex Duke of Mallory, Ferdinand's widespread damage.

Cinderella's fairy godmother, Lenore, had been unquestionably beneficial to the royal household. Since magic wasn't unlawful any longer, and they'd welcomed the fair folk back to the kingdom. Lenora had been a fantastic godmother to Cinderella's four children. She loved them as much as she'd love all of the women in Cinderella's bloodline.

Charles and Cinderella had a set of identical twins, Chase and Chance. Their middle daughter Cynthia, and their youngest daughter Ash. All four children's names held symbolic meaning.

Charles had selected the twins' names. Because one should continuously chase their dreams, moreover, take chances in life. Cinderella's name choice had been after herself. A few housekeepers had taken to calling her Cindy, so naturally, she'd named her firstborn daughter, Cynthia. Her second-born daughter got Ash's name because it was another term for cinders.

The eleven-year-old twins possessed thick, longish chocolate-brown locks. Each had a lean build with dazzling copper eyes. Chase's favorite color was green, while Chance fancied red, which remained the most effortless way to tell them apart.

Nine-year-old Cynthia took after her great-aunt, Duchess Genevieve. She enjoyed reading adventure novels, particularly regarding pirates. Furthermore, she only wore her great-aunt's color of lavender.

Six-year-old Ash was a mini version of her mother. Ash loved to wear decorative headbands with pretty rose pink dresses. She always had a smile on her face and looked on the bright side.

The younglings were currently in school. However, their parents insisted they attend Valors's Academy, the regional public educational institution. Three different facilities for the various school age groups.

Their parents desired them to have a normal childhood, make genuine friends, and ultimately not become entitled. Avoiding becoming an entitled individual remained highly essential.

A good leader is humble, respectful, and capable of listening to others. Therefore for the sake of the future for Aurelais? The children spent time in the public eye to learn humility and the struggles of the everyday folks.

The twins had quite a challenging time paying attention when it came to school. They'd short attention spans, racing thoughts, and struggled to remain focused on the topic at hand. Luckily, their teacher, Ms. James, proved far more patient then their previous teachers.

"Alright, class, settle down," the petite platinum-blonde educator clapped to get her pupils' attention. Everyone promptly settled down, turning their focus onto their glamorous professor.

"Alright, I know we're all a bit fidgety today. Considering it's the first nice day in two weeks. I know everyone would rather be outside enjoying the beautiful weather. However, we must remain focused on today's lesson," as she picked up a piece of chalk to begin writing on the chalkboard.

"As you may recall, we've exams coming up in two months. Therefore, we will be covering history, topography, science, and mathematics. These exams will account for a majority of your final grade.

Since you require high scores to graduate? I suggest you take this seriously. After all, I'm confident you want to move up in your education. So shall we begin?

We will start by going over history then covering geography after lunch. Next week we'll work on our science and arithmetic skills. So please open your history textbooks to page 29. Chase, will you please start reading from the top of the page?" she requested to the young prince.

Chase promptly began to read aloud the founding of his kingdom. Despite the twins' ADHD? Neither fooled around when in school. Consequently, the twins did their best in school. Plus, like virtually all boys in their year? They had major crushes on their teacher. So, of course, they did their best to impress her.

Cynthia sat in a specialized classroom down the hall and around the corner. This respective schoolroom existed for students with various disabilities, ranging from learning, physical or verbal.

A pair of kindhearted professors, Ms. Arrow and Mr. Sexton, spent two hours each day with the students who required a bit of extra help. Ms. Arrow has been assisting Cynthia with improving her speech.

Cynthia's speech had been delayed as a toddler. At first, her parents assumed it was due to her shy nature. However, by the time their daughter reached school age? They'd become more concerned with her slurred, slow speech. Cynthia had extreme difficulty figuring out the exact words to use. Furthermore, she had an incredibly challenging time pronouncing or utilizing words in the correct order.

Ms. Arrow was having Cynthia practice her lip and tongue exercises. So naturally, Cynthia didn't find this incredibly amusing. Honestly, she felt ridiculous for practicing in front of her mirror every night.

However, she shortly finished her exercises. Then, they moved on to the next part of her lessons. Ms. Arrow had taught the young princess to take deep breaths before gradually enunciating sentences.

They'd been using flashcards to help her learn to say sentences correctly. First, they'd use them to help her say different words. Then they arranged them into a sentence for her to say aloud.

It was a challenging time. Yet all of Cinderella's children inherited her never-give-up attitude. So they'd complete a task no matter how hard it was. This trait stood out in Ash, and for a good reason.

Little Ash was listening to her teacher read a fairytale. But, unlike the other children, she didn't sit on the carpet for storytime. Instead, she sat in her wheelchair. No one truly knew why the young princess used a wheelchair.

The little princess wasn't incapable of walking. However, not even the royal physicians understood Ash's symptoms. For the last year, she'd failed to see out of her right eye, had muscle weakness, numbness, and loss of coordination.

A few times, this did end up in temporary immobility. She also wasn't able to control her bladder at all. She also had a slight hearing loss as well. Either way, the physicians couldn't figure out what was wrong with the child. Also, Lenora firmly declared she wouldn't utilize magic on Ash. She feared it might end up aggravating the unidentified disease.

Even with her limitations, Ash tried to keep smiling, doing the best she could. She did have a helper with her at all times. Ash may not like to accept her limitations, but she didn't argue that she required help.

Eventually, school let out. The children lingered on the steps while they brought the carriage around. Chase groaned loudly, "How do they expect us to remember every significant event in the kingdom's history?"

"What...do...you mean...Chase?" asked Cynthia again, speaking slowly, so they understood her.

"Chase's just sore because he can't recall all aristocratic families' names. So we have got a practice test on Friday covering the aristocratic households in the kingdom," explained Chance to which his brother scowled.

"Like you did any better, Chance? As I recall, you couldn't keep the boundaries of the domain straight, let alone landmarks."

"Oh, shut it, Chase! I'm confident if we go to the royal library, we find more then enough to assist us in passing our practice test!" his brother pointed out, irritated.

"Will you two...stop...acting like that? You should...act your age for a...change," admonished Cynthia.

"Please, let's not argue," pleaded Ash with her siblings. "We're all stressed from school. So let's unwind in the gardens when we get home."

"You're right, Ash. I'm sorry I started the fight, but sis is right. We're all under pressure with the end of the school year approaching," reasoned Chase, to which the other three nodded.

"I'm positive Mom and Dad will help us with our schooling. I'm sure they'll even let us study outside," Chance suggested hopefully. At that moment, the coach pulled up. The children's coach was by far the least grand of them all. Again to humble them and make them easier to relate to. They helped each into the carriage before it took off.

Arriving at the palace, they're greeted warmly by their mother's best friend Louisa, the seamstress who assisted their mother after Lady Termaine attempted to sell her. "Hi, Aunt Louisa! How are you doing today?" the twins asked at the same time. The bubbly young woman smiled, "I'm doing fine, younglings. I wanted to let you know I mended your school attire.

I imagine it's been problematic this last week having to wear the same outfits," glancing at their wrinkled and slightly stained garments. The school didn't have uniforms, but it did have a dress code.

The dress code called for semi-formal. So they expect the children to wear nice, pristine shirts/blouses—slacks for boys, skirts for girls, and dress shoes. But, unfortunately, due to the recent stormy weather, plus a minor accident at home? Their regular school clothes were a mess. So they'd put on their second-best clothes.

"Thank you...Aunt Louisa...for fixing our clothes. Was it hard too...get the stains out?" Cynthia asked to which her aunt shook her head and smiled.

"No, my mother and I know how to get any stain out. Some take more work then others; you'll find them in your wardrobes. Your after-school snack and coco are waiting for you in the gardens. I hope you enjoy it."

"Thank you, Aunt Louisa! Have a nice day!" chimed Ash cheerfully. The seamstress smiled once more before giving them all a hug before heading back to the Blooms and Looms. Then, along with one escort, took them to a nearby pavilion where their parents awaited them. The second the children showed up, their parents dropped what they were doing.

"Hello, my lovelies. How was school?" their mother asked as they took their places. The servants quickly served everyone, ensuring everyone was comfortable before departing to give the family some privacy.

"We've final exams coming up and could use some extra help to pass them, Mom," Chase explained while correcting his posture. Between him and his twin? Chase was the more well-mannered one.

"It'll be so embarrassing if Aurelais princes can't pass the sixth grade! However, attempting to remember all the details? Ugh! Gives me a migraine!" his brother groaned, pulling at his hair.

"Careful son, you don't want to end up bald like Grandpa, do you?" chuckled his father. His son didn't look remotely amused by the joke yet calmly answered.

"No, I don't, Dad. I may like to play the occasional prank on the staff. However, I'm serious when it comes to my school assignments," he reminded his father.

"Only teasing you, son. Just trying to help you loosen up some. I don't want you to psyche yourself out before the exams."

"I'm glad Ash...and I don't...have to worry about exams yet," Cynthia added thankfully. If she'd been with anyone else? She'd instantly run away due to her shyness. However, as long as she was with her family? That mousy young girl didn't feel mortified or unconfident. Instead, outsiders intimidated or ridiculed her due to her speech impediment.

"I'm not confident I'd be able to do much for exams," Ash tried to smile as her mother helped her drink her hot chocolate, as her entire right side remained paralyzed. Furthermore, she remained blind in her right eye.

"Don't worry, my loves. Your father and I'll make sure you get all the help you need. Of course, a little extra tutoring won't hurt a thing. But, for now, let's enjoy ourselves and worry about those things another time?" Everyone agreed as the family returned to their bonding time. Life was good.

The wisdom of kintsukuroi

Kintsukuroi is a Japanese ceramic style. The word means to repair with gold. In the kintsukuroi tradition, an artist will fuse the pieces back together when a ceramic piece breaks.

They'll use liquid gold or gold-dusted lacquer. So instead, then cover it up? The breaks become more evident while a new piece emerges. Kintsukuroi embraces flaws and imperfections. It teaches us the essence of resilience.

Every crack in the piece is a part of history. With each piece becoming more beautiful because it's broken. As people? We will fail, fall, and damage. But, we'll stand up and repeatedly repair ourselves. We'll eventually become different then before, yet we'll become whole. We'll be more beautiful and better people due to our flaws and imperfections.
