Disclaimer: I still own nothing, if I did own this show Aoshi and Misao would have gotten married.
Author's Note: This is StarShipDelta's very belated birthday story. Read and Review as always but Flames will be scoffed at. Thanks!
Our Aoshi's and Misao's
By Spaceroses
Shinomori Aoshi: aloof, distant, an icicle of a man.
Makimachi Misao: bright, vibrant, a warm, exuberant girl
They were night and day, north and south, ice and fire. Polar opposites and yet we could see so much clearer then they could. We could see how much they needed each other.
Our Misaos needed Our Aoshis for support; she needed his strength to bear her through the worst times of life.
Our Aoshis needed Our Misaos love and companionship to help him find a measure of peace in his soul.
We could see it so clearly, so we began to write, imagining different scenarios and adventures they could have together.
We made Our Misaos a child again, eager to please her Aoshi-sama.
We made Our Aoshis a broken man, feeling unworthy of her love.
We tore them apart, confident that even death could not separate them. And we were right.
We made them leaders of the Oniwaban, having to choose between duty and love.
We put them into different times, different worlds and even different dimensions but no matter where they were we always put them together.
We gave them different jobs and different dreams but we always gave them love. Whether they were outlaws or coworkers, whether she was his boss or he was her employer we always made them find love with each other.
Some of us, despite all of the proof that lay right in front of us, refused to believe they were destined for each other.
We gave Our Aoshis to Our Kaorus, Our Megumis and our own creations as replacements for Our Misaos.
We made Our Misaos fall for Our Enishis, Our Setas and even Our Saitous to fill the void left by Our Aoshis.
But we knew that Our Aoshis and Our Misaos were as meant to be as Our Kenshins and Our Kaorus.
So instead of trying to separate them we put them together. We made Our Aoshis oblivious to Our Misaos flirtations.
Our Misaos mirrored our own frustrations with Our Aoshis slowness to confess his feelings.
But finally he did, finally we gave him the courage to ask Misao to marry him and of course she said yes.
But that wasn't the end of their adventures; in fact that was only the beginning.
We made them parents with children. We made them warriors who fought side by side. We made them grandparents.
And through it all we gave them pure, sweet love for each other.
They'll always be together in out minds and our hearts.
Our Icicles and Our Weasel Girls.
