"This was not part of the deal! You told me you would make sure she stays in a coma!" A figure shouted in the clinic with clenched hands.
"I promised I would help you get Yi Jung and Ga Eul apart, I can never hurt anyone that Ga Eul loves. I merely gave Mrs. So some sleeping pills, of course, you helped by continuing to give her the pills so she stays asleep" Jae Rim replied with a smirk on his face as he sat down in front of his table.
"I will tell Yi Jung everything!"
"Go ahead, you are lucky the butler didn't get to say your name. Imagine if he did, where would you be then?" Jae Rim rubbed his chin then motioned to his cabinet with a smile, pulling out a remote. Clicking a button his tv turned on playing a video. The figure turned around and watched the video in shock
'I want Yi Jung's mother to suffer and stay in a coma forever, this will weaken Yi Jung and his foundation and finally, all his riches will be mine…'
The figure turned around as the video came to an end "you didn't.."
"You aren't the only one who knows how microphones and cameras work Ms. Eun Jae." Jae Rim leaned back in his chair as he smiled towards the figure.
"Looks like you have learned a lot from me" Eun Jae's lips curved upwards as she sat herself on the chair in front of Jae Rim.
"It wasn't hard when I first found the microphone in Ga Eul's room in New Caledonia, you really don't let anything get past you. You know if we both had the same target we could have been friends" Jae Rim interlaced his hands as he shifted his view towards Eun Jae who mirrored his expression.
"Guess the training we had together still makes us enemies"
"You know very well FBI agents and mafias never train together, I was assigned to capture you but we ended up making a deal. You help me and I don't turn you in. Having an inside person really helps me get things done smoother" Eun Jae rolls her eyes moving her head to the side with annoyance "I am not your inside person. Get that out of your head, I am merely helping you to put my revenge into action. But I have to admit" with that Eun Jae turned her head back to view a smiling Jae Rim "if only things were less complicated, I could see us being a cute couple" hearing this both burst into laughter. Time passes as they both stop laughing and just look at each other "jokes aside, Ga Eul and Yi Jung getting married really put things down the drain. I don't see us getting out of this too easily" as those words left Eun Jae's mouth Jae Rim carrying a smirk turned his chair around, his back now facing Eun Jae.
"Don't worry, I have a pawn who will do all my bidding"
"Alright, Mrs. So I will let you rest now. I will check on you regularly from now on again" Ga Eul stated with a serious tone which only made Mrs. So laugh.
"Ga Eul you are even cuter when you are angry. But do not worry I will take care of myself" Mrs. So replied, soon after Mr. So walked into the room with a glass of water, with nothing more than a smile and relaxed eyes.
"If she doesn't you will be the first I inform." With that Ga Eul bid them goodnight and headed out the room, shutting the door behind her. Turning around she was presented with Ji Hoo.
"Ga Eul I am really sorry for what happened today"
"I cannot forgive Yi Jung for how he behaved with Oppa but I am just glad Mrs. So is okay. Yi Jung told me how much his mother meant to him so I could only imagine how he must have felt" Ga Eul replied with a soft tone as she began to walk downstairs.
"So you aren't upset with him?" Ji Hoo questioned with a calm tone as he pushed his hands in his pockets and walked beside Ga Eul.
"Well I would still like him to apologize to Oppa but personally I am not mad, he really loves his mother and his reaction was valid and-"
"Then here you go" Ji Hoo handed Ga Eul a shawl. It was the same one he had given her the last time when they were in New Caledonia playing hide and seek. Ga Eul narrowed her brows and cocked her head before words could escape her mouth Ji Hoo began to speak "Yi Jung is at the beach right now and refuses to come back home, the others tried but he wouldn't budge so they left, maybe you can do better?" Ga Eul grabbing the shawl wraps it around her shoulder and heads out asking the driver to take her to Yi Jung's location, as the car drives off Ji Hoo heads towards his car with a grin never leaving his face. As he sat in the driver seat, he grabs his handphone and begins to type a message 'leave Ga Eul at the beach with Yi Jung, his car is there and they both will come back in his car' hitting send Ji Hoo smiles to himself shaking his head, he really had some stubborn friends.
Ga Eul stepped out of the car and walked forward, without realizing the car she came in had driven away. Her eyes finally finding their target, a breath of relief leaves Ga Eul's mouth, and she begins to head his way. For some reason, seeing him upset, was something hard for her to look at.
"Are you ok?" Ga Eul walks up to Yi Jung, who sat on the hood of his car looking out at the waves crashing on the shore on a chilly night. Yi Jung does not respond.
"It's cold out right now, I think you should come back home, you might get sick." Still, Yi Jung gave no response; he continued to look out to the ocean. Ga Eul sighs giving up, but before leaving she removes her black shawl from her shoulders and manages to place it on Yi Jung`s shoulders.
"Don't stay out too late…" Saying her last words she begins to walk away.
"I`m sorry…" Yi Jung`s words made Ga Eul pause her steps and look back at him with shock. But instead of questioning him she walks around his car and sits next to him on the car hood.
"I am sure you want to ask me what made me behave the way I did" Ga Eul doesn't respond to Yi Jung, taking her silence as a confirmation he continues to talk.
"I don't believe in happy endings" Ga Eul looked towards Yi Jung and awaited him to continue what he meant. Still looking towards the waves Yi Jung continues to tell his story.
"When I was little my parents were never there for me, my father never took care of us and my mother was depressed to the point she forgot about her kids. My older brother left to live his life how he wanted but this made my grandfather disown him from the heritage and I never saw him since. I guess growing up I learned to keep to myself without anyone's help, I told myself if I didn't have anyone close to me, I don't have to worry about getting hurt. Thus no happy endings to lose or gain" Ga Eul nodded her head and shifted her view back to the waves.
"But I was proven wrong. When I was informed that my mother is getting better and wants to live I felt another self of mine be reborn. Seeing my mother happy for the first time in my life made me want to feel alive. Just her being near me made me so happy. I used to visit her all the time in the hospital but would always find her wanting to fix things with my father or her body would be unconscious but-" Yi Jung turned his head towards Ga Eul "You gave her the reason to want to live and thanks to you I finally have a mother. I guess just having to see her unconscious again made something in me snap, my hope vanished. I must have done something right to still have her by my side. I know I am not the best, I wanted to do so much for her soon as she was back but reality forced me to keep my guards up to make sure I don't get hurt again. I am not the best son"
"You are right you aren't" Ga Eul still looking out to the waves commented making Yi Jung lower his head. Ga Eul turned her head back towards Yi Jung and placed her hand on his "but that doesn't mean you can't be better. Everyone should have a chance to change and think of this as yours. You are a good person, just stop being afraid and be yourself." Yi Jung looked up to view a smiling Ga Eul causing him to mirror her image.
"I am not sure about the wife part but you do make a decent friend" Yi Jung's words caused him to be hit on the shoulder by a furious Ga Eul "decent? Being your friend I should get an award" both laugh together sharing funny conversations and enjoying each other's company. Their conversation interrupted as a cold wind hit them, Ga Eul covered her shoulder with her hands, sooner after Yi Jung placed the shawl onto her shoulders.
"I think we should get back now I will just head back with the driver-" Ga Eul points towards the area she was dropped off but no car was present. Before Ga Eul could inquire Yi Jung was guiding her into his car "we live in the same house, it would be rude if I didn't bring you home plus Mother would just kick me out again. Let's just save the both of us the trouble" Ga Eul just nodded and sat in the passenger seat. Both exchange smiles and with that Yi Jung drives off to their destination.
"Tell me why I am watching this again?" Yi Jung questioned as he closed the last button of the silk pajama shirt and sat down on the couch, watching Ga Eul start the drama.
"Because I won fair and square in rock, paper, scissors for what we get to watch" Ga Eul replied as she recalled them coming home a while ago and neither of them were tired so they decided to watch something but they both had different picks leading them to argue, finally letting a small children's game decide what they will watch. Ga Eul adjusted herself on the couch, sitting next to Yi Jung as she hit the play button.
'Tale of Nine-Tailed: Episode 1'
As annoyed as Yi Jung was for not being able to watch his pick Mrs. Cop 2, he found the show to be quite interesting in a way. It was a mixture of historical and modern events, and of course lots of fiction. The story was about the main character Lee Yeon searching for his loved one for more than 100+ years, this drama was full of reborn nonsense Yi Jung thought to himself, and the only way Lee Yeon would be able to find his lover was from the fox bead she had of his. In all honesty, all the fictional events are not what kept Yi Jung on the edge, his annoyance arose from how many times Ga Eul gushed over the main character's brother Lee Rang. The brother played the villain role so it was interesting to see him being Ga Eul's favorite. Every time she saw him appear on screen she would leave so many girly comments about him; however, she was cursing out Lee Yeon 'the good guy' for beating up her Lee Rang.
'Her Lee Rang' Yi Jung mentally scoffed at her comment, she acted like he was a real person, under all the makeup and lighting Yi Jung knew that actor would never compare to his great looks. As time passed they reached episode 5, where a kissing scene appeared between Lee Yeon and his supposed lover, this drama was so confusing Yi Jung thought, wouldn't Lee Yeon know by now that it was her? Yi Jung was getting annoyed by how this storyline was progressing, but his thoughts were halted as he felt Ga Eul shift in place, seeing the kiss scene was still on Yi Jung looked towards Ga Eul how she avoided looking at the TV. Yi Jung found this action of hers to be adorable and he couldn't stop himself from staring and before anything else, Ga Eul looked his way and thus began the staring contest. As if time had stopped, they couldn't come to avoid each other's gaze and some invisible force was pulling them together, Yi Jung cupped Ga Eul's cheek, seeing she didn't move gave him the answer he was looking for, she wasn't afraid of him. Without losing another second Yi Jung closed his eyes and leaned towards Ga Eul who had finally shut hers, their lips now only mere inches apart.
Rinnngggggg
Ga Eul hearing her phone ring moved back and ran towards her room. Yi Jung left alone smiling to himself, maybe this drama isn't all that bad.
PREVIEW OF NEXT CHAPTER:
"Well, this was a nice picnic. Thank you for bringing me here" Yi Jung stated as he laid on the blanket.
"I thought you could use some fresh air and -" Before Ga Eul could finish, she was cut off as rain started pouring down on them. Quickly rushing to protect the food, Ga Eul put everything back in the basket as Yi Jung rolled the blanket. Both ran towards the nearest tree.
"I think it is about time you tell Jae Kyung what happened" Ji Hoo requested placing a hand over his friend's shoulder. Woo Bin shrugged it off and turned around to face Ji Hoo.
"You are insane! You want me to tell her everything? Tell her how her life was almost taken because of me? Remind her of all the pain she had to go through because I loved her."
