A/N: Ayoooo!
How's everyone?
This is a little prompt I made as a gift for one of my first friends on this site. The guy's been a fan of work and helped me out by offering his support!
Big thanks to AlphaCentauri0!
"Waaaaah! Waaaah!"
"Shion? Shion! Why is she still crying? Something happen?"
"Waaaaah!"
…
"Oh my God! Shion! Who did- YOU!"
"Indeed. I told you didn't I? When your happiness reaches its peak, you'll rue the day you left me alive!"
"Zetsu! Damn you! Let my daughter go!"
"You know… these Sharingan eyes really are fascinating. A few tweaks here and there and you got yourself some very interesting results"
"Waaaaaaaaaah!"
"I SAID LET HER GO YOU BASTARD!"
"Hehehe! Even if this technique kills me, I'll make sure to take you and your spawn with me"
"NO-"
Magnolia, Kingdom of Fiore
The great town of Magnolia, one with a rich history and an even greater reputation as both a merchant town and a place of great prosperity for Mages since the ancient era, was slowly being bathed by the first rays of the sun.
In one of the smaller buildings near the Kardia Cathedral, a blond-haired man dressed in orange pajamas lay sprawled on his back, sleeping on a queen-sized bed. The sight wouldn't be so strange if it weren't for the smaller figure sleeping on the blond's torso, seemingly unbothered by the snores their bedmate was producing.
From a window on the other side of the room, the light made its way through the curtains, announcing the arrival of a new day. The man squinted his eyes as the morning rays illuminated his head, but remained asleep.
Minutes later, the room's door opened up with a quiet creek as, strangely enough, a penguin poked its head inside. Seeing the two on the bed, the small animal waddled its way towards the foot of the bed.
"Wenk!" it said, in an attempt to awaken the two.
It did not work, however, as the man simply snored harder, even bringing up a hand to swat down half-heartedly at the disturbance.
"Wenk! Wenk! Wenk!" the little penguin shook aggressively.
Snnooooooooore
The two-foot-tall bird narrowed its large eyes in frustration before waddling to a desk sitting in a corner of the room. It pulled the chair out then pushed it to the bed, before climbing on it with some difficulty.
As it balanced itself atop the chair's top rail, it gave out a mighty battle cry and jumped at the sleeping pair, aiming for the man's head. Seeing as it was a flightless bird, especially one so small and lacking in leg power, it is understandable that it would miss its target… and land square between the man's legs.
"OOOF" the reaction was immediate, the blond sat up with a look of surprise and pain, his abrupt movement all but catapulting the smaller figure off him.
"Huh? Crap!" the man's eyes went wide as he raised a hand towards his smaller bedmate. This seemed to summon a much larger appendage made of golden energy from the extended arm, and intercept the child, preventing any injury.
"Bwu?" the child awoke upon being enveloped with the golden hand, rubbed their eyes before looking at the man, revealing the face of a little girl, one with two distinct whisker-like marks on each cheek.
Seeing the blond man, her lilac eyes opened fully, and a smile bloomed, stretching her pudgy cheeks wide.
"Baba!" She called out, arms stretched out to the man.
The larger blond sighed in relief. He briefly shot the animal a glare, one which the flightless bird met with a vengeance before the blond shifted his attention to the girl.
Any traces of negativity vanished from his expression and he retracted the arm, bringing the child to him, cooing all the while.
"G'mornin' my little Suzu-chwaan" he accepted the girl's wordless demand for a hug and nuzzled into her lovingly. Dressed in a light purple onesie with a green underbelly and a purple hoodie that covered her short blond hair and was adorned with two small horns, the little girl seemed to be about two years old. Her sleepwear was made to look like a dragon costume and even had two plushy wings attached to its back with a purple tail to complete the look.
All in all, she was the most adorable thing Naruto Uzumaki had ever laid eyes on.
His daughter.
His light.
His musings were interrupted by a loud "WENK!" from his pet.
Naruto sighed in exasperation.
"Alright, alright Gunter, I'll go get your breakfast," he said with annoyance at the little monster.
"Gunda!" the little girl chirped, letting go from her embrace and stretching her arms out to the animal.
Seeing her shift of attention, the man obliged his daughter, hesitantly lowering her down as she wobbled on both legs for a moment, before hurriedly walking after the penguin.
"Gunda! Hug!" Gunter did not appreciate the attention and made it known by flapping his wings. The movement made a small sheet of ice appear on its stomach as it used the now slick surface to glide on it and out of the door, with the two-year-old on its heels.
Naruto chuckled at the sight and followed them out while stretching his back.
The penguin had been a surprise for sure. The Uzumaki had originally bought a celestial key from a traveling vendor. The man had given him the idea of getting a pet for his daughter, and thus the father had been sold on the idea. He'd bought the key, went back home, and established the contact as expected, and when a cute penguin had popped up, his Suzu had been over the moon with delight.
Four months later, Naruto felt like he had gotten scammed. Celestial spirit? Ha! Gunter might as well have been a demon.
Wenk this, wenk that, always asking for fish and refusing to give his darling girl the affection she wanted and rightfully deserved?
That little diva was lucky it was cute.
Naruto reached the kitchen in time to see Suzu had caught the pet in a vice grip and was petting its head while the bird squirmed in protest.
Suzu, in true Uzumaki fashion, however, only saw a target for her hugs.
Naruto was so proud of his little girl!
But all joking aside, he needed to prepare for the day.
He raised his bandaged right hand, channeled a small amount of chakra into it, and touched his thumb with his index finger, before doing the same with the pinky.
A few rune-like inscriptions (Shiki Fujin) flashed briefly over the limb before it died down. On the other side of the kitchen, a crystal ball propped up by a stand and inscribed with several strange runes glowed blue as well. Soon enough the sound of pan pipes accompanied by various instruments filled the room. An audible pop was heard as a second Naruto appeared and took over the cooking, while the original twirled back towards Suzu and the still-struggling Gunter.
With a skip in his step, he walked towards his little bundle of joy and scooped her up, grabbing the bird out of her hands and putting it on the ground so it can ruffle its feathers. Humming a tune, he bounced his giggling daughter while his clone continued to cook.
Even with his light dancing, he reached into a large cupboard, opening it to reveal an empty space save for the multitude of seals inscribed on the wooden surface. With another small application of chakra, an average-sized herring was in his hand which he threw in Gunter's direction. The little bird simply caught it with its beak and knocked its head back to swallow it whole.
As he moved back to set the table, he placed Suzu in her high chair while he took a seat on the opposite side. Between them sat a third empty seat, with only a picture occupying the space in front of it.
Naruto smiled sadly at the framed portrait and for the millionth time, he wished his wife could've joined them.
Shion would've loved it here.
Had it not been for that bastard-
"Baba! Foo-foo!" His daughter clapped her hands with a pout, demanding her breakfast.
As if to answer the little princess' request, the clone came back with a milk bottle and a plate of sliced fruits.
Before she could reach for it, however, the clone wagged his finger playfully in front of her.
"What do we say?" the clone asked with a smile.
"Foo-foo!" The girl puffed her cheeks in anger.
"Not until I hear the magic woooord~" the original Naruto crowed, with both hands under his chin.
"Mou~" Suzu furrowed her brow in concentration before raising both hands in the clone's direction.
"Pwease! Foo-foo!" she jumped in place impatiently.
The clone teased her a couple more times before finally relenting and putting her breakfast on the table.
The little girl gave a yelp of delight as she chugged on her bottle, while the clone moved back to a pot he had set on the ceramic section of the counter. A pot that stood over a circle of Shiki Fujin glowing red from the heat.
A pot of his favorite dish and the one he unabashedly was having for breakfast like a madman.
Ramen!
The man wiped the drool from his mouth, opting to look back at his little bundle of joy as she continued to drink her milk with gusto.
He sighed tiredly.
He was glad she could be so happy. Even a year and a half after the incident, he still had a hard time adjusting to their sudden journey across space and time. Even his partner, Kurama, had been silent since and Naruto was starting to fear the worst for his friend.
However, despite these issues, his relentless determination had allowed him to build himself and his daughter a new life in this new magical world.
He'd be damned if he didn't make the best of this situation!
Later
"Thank you! Please come again!" Naruto waved at the satisfied customer, seeing him walk out with a large smile on his face.
"Com gan!" his little girl repeated from her place to the side with a few large blocks and toys to play with.
Both of them had gone through a change of wardrobe. The father opting for a more professional look consisting of an orange dress shirt under a pair of blue pants held up by a black belt. A pair of dress shoes and a black bow tie completed the look and made sure the man was approachable enough to attract business.
His daughter, on the other hand, was dressed in a puffy lavender gown and a hairband with dragon horns to top it off. His little Suzu loved both princesses and dragons curiously enough.
Adorable… but weird. Maybe it was all these bedtime stories he read her.
Gunter had gone off somewhere to do his own thing. The father wasn't really worried about him, the little terror could handle itself.
The Uzumaki stood in the middle of a medium-sized shop, one filled with a random assortment of objects, accessories, devices, and strange items.
"Uzu's Big Bazaar" was his new project, one he needed as both a source of income and stability. He could have taken quests like those big fancy mage guilds and made some easy cash while leaving Suzu with a babysitter, but the girl needed to be raised in a peaceful environment, and he was adamant about providing it for her while being present in her life.
It's what his late wife would've wanted, bless her soul.
With that said, the shop was, as the sign said, a bazaar. One filled with objects for multiple uses, many of those unique in nature.
[Creation of All Things] was a fun ability to play around with.
He prided himself on offering his customers solutions to their problems or even an answer to their demands, no matter how outlandish it seemed.
It helped that the energy of this world, magic as it was called, was of a similar frequency to chakra. Naruto could thus adapt easily to using various magical tools, especially Lacrima, which served as a battery or even a multi-purpose item for many of his creations.
A magic-powered dust sweeper? Piece of cake.
A magic-resistant belt that forced the pants to stay on the wearer? Weird, but easy enough.
Something that helped a young girl get taller and have a more womanly figure? An odd request that honestly made him chuckle, but an alteration of the standard soldier pill did the trick…
Even if it only really insured the girl would grow up healthier, and thus, more beautiful.
Cute kid though, Suzu took a shine to her too.
The bell above the door rang suddenly, taking him out of his thoughts. As he turned to greet the new client, his usual smile widened into a grin as he saw one of the first friends he made here.
"Hellooo~ Naruto-san!" a beautiful young woman said with a cheerful wave, her face adorned with a smile just as bright as the blond man's. The lady, dressed in a sleeveless, ankle-length maroon dress with a pleated skirt, walked over to the counter while her large blue eyes observed the assortment of objects in the shop.
"And just like that, my morning just got ten times better. Mira-chan! How are ya?" he greeted his frankly, favorite customer with enthusiasm. Even going so far as to reach for his daughter.
"Suzu! Look who's here!" He carried the little girl, making her look up from her toys towards the newest arrival.
Mirajane's smile only grew larger as she saw the child, and walked towards her with her arms open for a hug.
"Suzu-chaaan! How are you?" she greeted the blonde girl, who upon recognizing her, began babbling excitedly and reaching for her as well.
"Miwa! Miwa!" Naruto smiled at his little girl's excitement.
This was one of the reasons the white-haired beauty was his favorite customer, he had shared that sentiment with his daughter who had taken an immediate liking to the Fairy Tail mage.
"Oh, you absolute darling! Are you dressed like a dragon princess today?" Mirajane cooed as she took the child and held her close to her bosom.
"Dwagon pwincesh have pwetty boom like Miwa!"
"Awwwwww" with a loud 'mwah' the mage gave her little fan a smooch on the head.
The sight was oddly melancholic to the father, whose smile dimmed a tad.
'Shion would've held her like that' he thought sadly as the mage continued playing with Suzu, unaware of the shop owner's thoughts.
This went on for almost ten minutes, with Mirajane completely engrossed in entertaining the child while the father simply gazed at the two.
'Heh, Suzu can really charm anyone' he remembered when the young woman came to his shop the first time out of curiosity, and with an understandable amount of skepticism. She had asked him several questions at the time about the nature of his work and prodded further into the inner workings of the business, later on revealing that it was because of the rumors she'd heard about him. Folks weren't too used to businessmen popping out of the woodworks and offering them innovative and great quality products at fairly low prices, so it was natural some suspected a nefarious plot to be afoot.
Luckily for him, he hadn't needed to reveal much as the timely arrival of his daughter seemed to catch the mage's attention, and like many women before her, ensnared her with her childish cuteness. She hadn't completely dropped the case of course, but she'd settled on watching over him (and mostly Suzu), both in an attempt to befriend him and keep to her duties.
That wasn't to say he didn't enjoy her company. Great looks and a great personality always made for a fun hang and Mirajane being a very entertaining and caring young lady only scored her additional brownie points with him.
His daughter loved her transformation magic and had multiple times requested she turn into a dragon, only to be disappointed each time. Dragons were, as Naruto found out, just as rare and mystical here as they were in his own world and his daughter had grown obsessed with the creatures.
"Soooo Mira-chan, not that I don't love your visits but is this a social one oorrr…" he trailed off questioningly.
Mirajane stopped making faces at the little girl in her arms and turned to him with a raised brow.
"Ara ara" she began, "can't I visit my favorite shop in town?" she teased as Suzu giggled.
"I'd believe that if you didn't frequent the bakery more" he rebuffed then playfully leered in her direction. "What? Suzuko-san finally convinced you to date her son?" he turned to the side to pout.
The last statement made Mira snort in amusement.
"As if!" she turned her nose up "You know me Naruto-san, I only have eyes for members of high society!" she sniffed in a fake haughty tone. "Besides, I only go there to get ingredients for the guild"
Now it was Naruto's turn to raise an eyebrow. The bakery was across the street from him, and he could clearly see Mirajane come and go every two or three days from there with a large sack of flour.
So he asked the most obvious question, and she chuckled, once again poking Suzu's stomach playfully.
"Let's just say, one of our members likes her cakes," she said with another wink.
Damn…
That's like him and Ramen in a way. Whoever that person is though, they better have a fast-acting metabolism.
So much sugar can't be healthy.
"With that out of the way, though, I should tell you that I did come here for another reason," she said. "Master Makarov has been asking questions about the shop. He's interested in knowing if you can do some larger-scale commands"
"How large are we talking?"
"It depends. Remember those pills you gave Wendy?" she gave him a brief glare at that and he shrugged. "Well, we initially had them tested by our medical advisor Porlyusica and results were apparently impressive. He's been wondering if you have any other variations we could buy. Something with a more practical use perhaps?"
"Like for missions?" he prodded. It was the only logical reason, them being a guild and all.
"Yes," she nodded. "Master Makarov wanted something similar but with a bit more oomph. Perhaps with restorative properties?"
Naruto hmmed before nodding, "I got just the thing for ya" he tapped his right hand's fingers together in a specific order before bluish runes appeared on the bandaged limb, and a poof of smoke came out in his palm.
Mirajane was surprised to see the man holding a small glass jar filled with blue candy-like balls in it.
He took one out and held it up to the mage, making her come closer to the counter.
"I haven't gotten the opportunity to test'em yet, but these little beauties should be the answer to Magic exhaustion that some of you could suffer from after missions and even during them" he put the round pill in her Mira's outstretched hand.
The mage observed the product curiously whilst making sure to keep it away from the two-year-old's grabby hands.
"This is amazing!" she said in surprise, "but what do you mean untested? Did your supplier not complete the work on them?" she asked.
Naruto chuckled.
"Mira-chan wanna know a secret?" he curled a finger, gesturing for her to lean in. The young lady put the girl she was carrying down before obeying as the blond raised a hand to his mouth conspicuously.
He didn't notice the mage's cheeks redden slightly at the closeness but still whispered in her ear.
"I'm my own supplier" he admitted, making her eyes widen at the information.
"Wait. You made these?" she asked in wonder.
"Eyup! And everything in here too!" the man gestured with his hands at the entire shop and grinned at her stunned face.
"I.." she gulped at the discovery. "This is amazing Naruto-san!"
"I toldja many times to just call me Naruto no? You let me call ya chan after all! Haha!" he guffawed.
She smiled at him, "but this could work too! We'll have them tested and if they're safe, try them out" she proposed.
"And since you're beta testing my stuff, I'll give you a discount neh?" he winked at her, making her beam.
"Oh, Master Makarov will be very pleased with this! Thank you Naruto-sa- I mean, Naruto-kun!" she said with some embarrassment, before taking his hand in both of hers and shaking it happily.
Naruto nodded with a smile of his own as Mirajane bid both Uzumakis farewell and made for the door to report back.
Before she reached the exit, however, she paused in thought and turned back to the man.
"Umm Naruto-kun? Are you sure you don't want to-" she began asking a question that the father had heard many times before.
"Again, thanks for the offer Mira-chan, but I'm happy where I am" he gave her one last wave while Suzu did the same.
"Babay Miwa!" the blond girl waved her tiny hand at the woman.
The white-haired beauty pouted, "Mouuu" she said before turning to the little bundle of joy, "and bye-bye Suzu-chan! Be a good princess for your Papa okay?"
"Oki! guud Baba!" the girl nodded with a toothy smile.
Mirajane silently gushed at the cute sight before taking her departure.
Naruto smiled at retreating back of his favorite customer, putting the pill back in the jar and moving to put it back.
He idly rubbed his hands in thought.
'Her hands are soft' he thought appreciatively.
A/N: I just keep posting unfinished works don't I? Also, what can I say? I love me some father-daughter/son fluff!
In any case, Happy New Year!
Hopefully, 2022 isn't just 2020 in a different outfit.
