Yang's eyes flashed green right before Raven's sword struck against her daughter's green-black prosthetic.

Weiss quickly recovered from her shock, already raising her sword to summon her Arma Gigas. But she was far too slow.

Raven moved, kicking Ozpin away, the fearsome Nevermore mask she wore staring straight at Weiss, forcing the ex-heiress to desperately parry the sword going for her neck.

"Weiss, get back!" Ozpin warns Weiss, leaping back into the fight, Yang's metal arm going for a grab at Raven's weapon.

But this time the bandit queen was ready, rearing back and striking the arm away, then, pressing the opening, unleashes a flurry of stabs, forcing Ozpin to back off.

"She wasn't this tough before!" Yang hisses. The fact that she wasn't in control of her body did not make the blows sting any less.

"She wasn't thinking straight before, her attacks more controlled by her anger rather than driven by it. Now that she's calmed down, she's much more level-headed to try and kill the three of us."

Yang cringed mentally as Raven turns her attention back to Weiss, her white-haired teammate now locked into a deadly clash.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but since Raven's 'calmed down', is there a chance we could reason with her?"

Ozpin frowned, already back into the fray and diverting Raven's attention from Weiss. "While that would be preferable, Miss Branwen's not the type to back down just because we ask her nicely. If she hasn't let us go back at the camp, then she still wants to kill us, anger clouding her judgement or not."

"Jeez. The hell did you do to piss her off this much?"

Ozpin didn't answer, partly because he didn't know, mostly because he was locked into a death match with said woman he 'pissed off'.

Still, it seems Raven's pride got the better of her. Skilled as she was...

A glowing, blue, gigantic set of armor grabs Raven mid-battle, holding the bandit queen captive with both hands. Nearby, Weiss Schnee looked up, exhausted but wearing a small smile on her face.

...She was still outnumbered two-to-one.

Ozpin looks up at the Arma Gigas and the struggling, roaring woman in it's grasp. "That... was strangely anticlimactic."

"Don't jinx it," Weiss gasps out, panting. "Please."

Ozpin nods, still watching Raven. "Take your time."

"Think that's gonna hold her?"

"It depends on Miss Schnee's aura. Obviously not indefinitely, but I doubt Raven's getting out anytime soon."

Weiss, finally recovered, walks up to Ozpin warily. "So, are you going to talk, or should I keep on wondering?"

Ozpin sighs. "Miss Schnee-"

"No!" Weiss shouts, frustration clear on her face. "Who are you?! What did you do to Yang?! Why is her mother trying to kill us?! Why did she call you Ozpin?!"

"Don't you think we have bigger things to worry about?" Ozpin says, trying to calm Weiss down. "We still need to make sure that..."

Ozpin looks up again at Raven. At her red, glaring eyes.

Red eyes aglow with aura.

Oh.

"Oh no."

"What is it?"

"Miss Schnee, run."

"What?"

"What?" Weiss asks, looking up at Raven as well... and the smoke coming out of the Arma Gigas' fists holding her.

"Run!" Ozpin shouts, more urgently.

"What's wrong, Ozpin-!?"

"We were wrong, Yang. The Spring Maiden isn't Vernal-"

Suddenly, there was a great explosion, Ozpin and Weiss being knocked of their feet, the Arma Gigas evaporating into the air...

And Raven Branwen floating above the two, eyes alight with fury and magic.

"-It's your mother."

"..."

"Fuck."

And that was when said Spring Maiden raised her arms and shot fire from her hands.

Weiss began running when the madwoman started throwing fire at them.

Ozpin/Yang began running only when they were sure Weiss was running ahead.

Raven began flying after them, shooting ice, fire and all sorts of elements when it was clear Ozpin wasn't going to stand there and be exterminated like a good pest.

It was almost comical, the two girls (and one immortal) being chased after a flying, screaming magic woman, jumping and dodging the blasts of lightning and chunks of rock thrown at them at a hairs breadth.

You know, if it wasn't so terrifying.

"Can't you make a shield?!" Weiss shouts, her hair almost catching fire from a stray fireball. "Like the one you've made back at the bandit camp?!"

"It won't hold up long." Ozpin says, leaping over a fallen tree, which was quickly crushed by a boulder the size of a car. "And anyway, I've run out of energy to do something like that again anytime soon."

Weiss' eyes blew wide. "You ran out of Aura?!"

"No, I-" Ozpin pauses, contemplating, before taking a page out of Yang's book and pushed on brazenly ahead. "I ran out of magic."

Weiss gaped. "That's- it doesn't-"

"Miss Schnee, we can argue about the existence of the supernatural later, when we're not running for our lives."

Weiss gulped. "That's fair."

Yang, however, had her own concerns. "How long does your magic usually take to recharge?"

"Firstly, it's our magic now. Secondly-" Ozpin pauses to pull Weiss away from another elemental blast coming dangerously close to hitting her. "-not quickly, I'm afraid."

"So we're screwed. We can't fight, we can't run forever-"

"I never said that. She may seem unstoppable now, yes. But like any force of nature..."

Raven visibly starts sweating, the consequence of pushing herself too hard, too long, now making themselves known.

"...they eventually have to recede."

When the blasts of magic stop, Ozpin takes a risk to look behind them.

And he sees Raven a distance away, in a crouch, seemingly catching her breath.

Weiss also sees this. "Did she run out of magic too?"

As if in response, Raven growls and shoots another blast of lightning, only blocked by Ozpin deflecting the attack with Yang's prosthetic.

"No." Says Ozpin, unfurling Yang's Ember Celica. "But she's manageable now. Better than her flying around like some kind of witch, at least."

"...I was kidding when I said that." Weiss cringes, already unsheathing Myrtenaster. "You're saying she has magic too?!"

"Yes." Ozpin says, and in very Yang-like fashion, rushes head on towards a very dangerous enemy.

"Wait! We don't know- Ugh!" Weiss groans, running after Ozpin. "Sometimes I'm convinced you are Yang!"
