Disclaimer: I don't own the Dragon Ball Series or RWBY, and never will…sad isn't it?

Notice: I realize now that Goken is a common OC name. I realize that now. No I will NOT be going back and changing his name. I may remake chapter 1 in time.

It was a new day at Beacon Academy, the sun had risen on the warm summer day. It was perfect weather to enjoy as in another month the weather would start to cool down. Asleep in her new bed at Beacon was one Weiss Schnee of Team RWBYS, her hair was flowing free as opposed to the lop-sided ponytail she usually sports. Her pajamas a simple faded blue nightgown with short sleeves and the symbol of the Schnee family on it. The Schnee Heiress began to stir as sleep slowly slipped away from her. She stretched lightly as she took in the light of the morning. As she began to awaken, the sound of the shrill gym whistle rang in her ears. The heiress only took a quick notice of her silver-eyed teammate and leader blowing the whistle in her ears as she fell to the ground with a startled yell.

"Good Morning Team RWBYS!" Ruby shouted happily. From on the ground, Weiss glared at Ruby harshly.

"What is the matter with you!?" She shouted. Ruby didn't answer Weiss…or more seemed to just ignore her.

Blake rolled her eyes a little and Yang chuckled at their leader's antics. A loud yawn interrupted their thought as the only male of team RWBYS woke up.

"Mmm…man Rubes…you used to be dead until 1 or 2 in the afternoon." Goken commented as sleep slowly left his eyes. If anyone was expecting Goken to be sleeping naked or in just boxers…nope! Our hero can be slow but he does acknowledge he's sharing a room with four girls, three older and one younger. His pajamas were a pair of old shorts and an orange t-shirt that sported the kanji for turtle on it. Ruby sent him an adorable pout and glare and cleared her throat. Given the events of yesterday, they didn't really discuss a few things. Ruby took in her team, while Goken and Weiss were still in their pajamas; she, Blake, and Yang were dressed in their school uniforms. The R, B, and Y of the team were wearing the standard uniform of Beacon Academy, which was a pair of brown shoes, a red tan shirt, white blouse with maroon trim and thin red bow, a brown vest with gold buttons, and maroon blazer with gold trim, and alongside knee-high black socks. Granted Yang wore her gloves and Ruby also wore her cloak with their uniforms.

"Now that the two sleepyheads are awake, we can get to the first order of business." Ruby said in a manner that was both joyful and somewhat serious.

"What?" Weiss asked in confusion as Goken stood with his teammates.

"Decorating!" Yang cheered, holding posters and such.

"Okay? What else Rubes?" He asked but the sound of Blake's suitcase busting open answered his questions.

"We still need to unpack…and clean." The fanuas amongst them said that last part bashfully since it was her stuff that now cluttered the floor.

'I hope they didn't see my book.' Her cheeks turned a little red, hoping her "Special" book wasn't revealed.

"Sounds good, give me a sec to get dressed guys." He requested with a nod from his leader. Of course, he now proves how he is related to Goku. Goken took his uniform out of the closet "accidentally" forgetting the tie and started to take his pajama shirt off. A startled shouted came from his teammates, mostly Ruby and Weiss. Goken turned to them with a confused look, his top half off revealing a developing four-pack and toned stomach, enough to show he trained evenly in strength and speed. Blake's eyes were drawn on a jagged looking scar as a look of shame mixed with her shock.

'Did…I do something wrong?' He thought in confusion as he noticed their expression. Ruby was the same color as her cloak and was covering her eyes like a kid seeing 18+ things they shouldn't. Weiss looking like a mixture of shock, anger, embarrassment, and a little aroused as steam was literally shooting out her ears and was ready to yell. Blake had a crimson blush like Ruby but was holding her cool, even as her bow seemed to twitch rapidly. Yang had a blush like Blake's, if anything, but she was shooting the Saiyan flirty looks…oh she was going to enjoy teasing/embarrassing her male teammate for a long time.

"What?" He asked simply with a tilt of his head.

'How can he be smart enough to know to wear pajamas when sharing a room with us but so dense as to changing with us here?!' Weiss fumed in her thoughts

'Goken…topless…abs…weapons…cookies…' Ruby's thoughts swarmed as she threatened to have a meltdown, trying to think of anything else

'He's gotten so strong looking…this is like "Ninja's of Love volume 69" when Rukinata caught Ichiruto changing…NYA!' Blake's perverted side shouted as a small amount of blood dripped from her nose, his scar forgotten for the moment.

'Damn, he's not that scrawny runt anymore when she said with me and Ruby. It's kinda upsetting, not seeing you grown into when you've become so far Goken.' Yang thought, the blonde bombshell's thoughts being more on her motherly/big sister side than the flirtatious side.

The tension was palpable and before the Saiyan knew it, he was shoved into the bathroom and it was slammed shut. His vision swam for a moment as he groaned, his eyes swirls of confusion.

"Ugh…what hit me?" He groaned as a red rose petal fell on the floor with four female voice shouting.

"FINISH GETTING DRESSED GOKEN!"

Followed by his uniform being thrown onto him and the sound of the door slamming shut. With a shake of his head, Goken groaned.

'Note to self: get dressed in the bathroom.' He thought as he shook the cobwebs loose as he finished getting dressed…mostly.

Goken opened the bathroom door, however, he wasn't in "full uniform" so to speak. While he did forgo his weighted shirt, he did grab his weighted boots and wristbands. He also placed his weighted cloak on in a similar manner to Ruby. Oh, and he chose to ignore the tie. No one spoke, it was very awkward.

"That's not full uniform you know." Weiss voice spoke crisply, having gotten dressed in her uniform and only having to put her shoes on. Goken looked up at her and shrugged his shoulders.

"I know, but if I don't wear my weighted clothing then I can't keep training. It places a strain on the body to I develop my stamina and strength." He spoke to her.

"And the tie?"

"No."

Weiss shot a freezing glare at the boy that he refused to follow the rules. Goken gave her a challenging grin, daring her to do something about it. There was something about Weiss he just couldn't stomach now. And it was same for her to him. Before any words could be exchanged, Ruby blew her whistle again.

"Stop! Both of you! Weiss, if Goken doesn't want to wear the tie then don't force him. Goken, please don't antagonize my teammate only the second day in." Ruby scolded/pleaded. Weiss scoffed and turned away from the boy as Goken walked up to and stood with his teammates. Decided it best to start, Ruby shouted in as cherry a voice she could.

"Alright then! Weiss, Blake, Yang, Goken, and their fearless leader Ruby are off on their first mission! Banzai!" Ruby shouted and punched her fist into the air.

"BANZAI!" The team of three repeated their leader as the snow princess watching in annoyance and disgust.

(One Decorating Montage Later)

Upon completion, the team of five took in their room. While they were given a larger room with a private bathroom due to them being a larger team, it was a still a tight fit for 5 people. The curtains had been cut by a certain red reaper and repaired by her snow-white teammate. Our favorite hidden faunas were setting her books in the bookshelf…well, most of them as the sight of "Ninjas in Love" made her go wide-eyed and blushed, hiding it.

'Best not let Ruby see that.' She thought, fearful of what Yang would do if she corrupted Ruby.

The, arguably, physically most powerful of the group, were mounting a TV. That being, Yang was directing the Saiyan on how to place it and Goken was moving it as she said. That was working well…for 8 seconds before the boy lost his balance and tripped on Cresent Rose, Yang rushed forward…and the TV was saved. Goken hit the ground for the second time that day but a small dent was left in the floor for the excess weight of his weighted clothing.

"Saved the TV!" Yang chirped with a grin and playfully stuck her tongue out at the boy. Goken shot the blonde an annoyed glare and flipped her off as he stood up. He was still moving easily but he didn't have his weighted shirt on.

"Goken that's bad!" Ruby scolded her big brother figure, Goken's shoulders slumped in apology not wanting to fight Ruby about the reason for flipping Yang off.

"Hey Goken," Yang spoke up as she mounted the TV and shot him a mischievous grin, "anytime and anyplace." She winked. Goken coughed in embarrassment and blushed deeply. Weiss scoffed and rolled her eyes at Yang's childish response to Goken's childish and vulgar action. Ruby had steam coming out her ears at the implication. Blake shot her female teammate a jealous look before looking away.

'I still got it.' Yang chuckled, she didn't mind Goken flipping her the bird, but seeing him get very shy and embarrassed was worth it.

'Does he remember?' Blake thought as she looked at her weapon, Gambol Shroud, in the corner. A guilty look in her eyes and a quick flash of a memory she tried to forget.

Once the room was finished, it was well furnished. A few posters on the walls, some of boybands and a couple of pop culture manga and games, closed curtains that were stitched back together, a small entertainment system for the team for the five with some video games and movies, a rack for their weapons, and a pile of beds in the middle…wait…what?

"This…isn't going to work." Weiss stated in a hesitant manner.

"It is…kinda cramped." Blake sighed but not too worried as she was used to cramped spaces.

"Guess we could ditch some of our stuff." Yang spoke, upset she'd have to send some of her comforts of home back home.

"Maybe we should get rid of the TV and electronics, that might give us some space." Goken suggested, it died when Yang shot him a glare, evidently that was a bad idea to the blonde of the group.

"Or," Ruby started, "we could ditch the bed…and make them into bunk beds!" She cheered.

"Um…that sound incredibly dangerous." Weiss started nervously.

"And super awesome!" Yang cheered.

"It does seem sufficient." Blake spoke up.

"Maybe, but we have five beds…I don't think we can make a stack that three high." Goken spoke, adopting a thoughtful look.

Weiss was a little shocked, the Saiyan didn't fully agree with her but he didn't exactly disagree…kinda neutral if anything.

'Hmm…he has a point.' Ruby thought as she scanned their room. A small twinkle came to her silver eyes. She did love Goken, as an older brother, but she'd be damned if she didn't get some payback for leaving for all that time. She and Yang shared a look, somehow knowing what the other was thinking.

"Well, we should put it to a vote." Weiss protested, despite knowing she was outvoted.

"I think we just did." Ruby said cheekily with Blake giving a thumbs up, Yang giving the rock and roll sign, Weiss sticking her tongue out in disagreement, and Goken shrugged his shoulders.

'Once Ruby has a plan in mind, don't bother trying to change it unless you have cookies on hand.' He thought fondly as they got to work.

The cacophonous sounds of the team rearranging the beds rang out and were soon complete.

"Objective complete." Ruby smiled.

If you could call it that. Two sets of beds were only held apart by stacks of books. One could see Blake studying the stacks before smiling in relief. The other was held above with a few well-placed ropes and had a curtain over top of it. Most of the team smiled…again…most of the team smiled…

"Um…Ruby…where's my bed?" Goken asked her in annoyance. He knew the girl just pranked him…it was payback for being gone for so long. Ruby ignored the sole male of the group and chose to continue.

"Now, the second objective for today is…" She stated happily, ignoring Goken's protests.

"Classes." She grumbled as she looked at her notebook.

The rest of her team took out their class schedules as they looked them over.

"Now, we have a few classes together. One at 9:00 am at…" She started.

'Wait? 9:00 am?' Weiss thought in shock.

"Wait, did you say 9:00 am?!" Weiss asked in hotly.

The rest looked at her in confusion.

"It's 8:55 you dunce!" Weiss yelled and shot out the door. The rest of team RWBYS looked at the clock in their room.

"Ah crapbaskets!" Goken growled and ran out with the rest not too far behind.

"Ah, t-to class!" Ruby commanded as JNPR peeked their heads out the door hearing the commotion.

"Wait, classes!?" Jaune shouted out as JNPR fell in heap at their dorm door. Jaune was the first up.

'Damn it!' He thought in a panic.

"We're gonna be late!" He panicked and followed team RWBYS with the rest of JNPR taking up the rear. In their run, they passed by their headmaster and assistant headmistress of their school. Glynda only looked at the disproveingly while Ozpin sipped his coffee.

'Truly this will be an interesting year.' He thought as he looked over the group of 9 running past.

Sitting in a lecture hall setting, team RWBYS, Jaune from team JNPR, and a few other students were listening to their professor, an older, heavyset man named Peter Port, lecture. Well, by lecture they mean grandstanding and listening meaning trying to stay awake. Behind the professor were portraits of a few Grimm and their exterior anatomy. This was their Grimm Studies class…Kais help them.

"Monster, demons, prowlers of the night!" Their professor started in a very grandiose way.

"Yes these creatures of Grimm have many names, but I merely refer to them as 'pray'." He let out a hearty laugh.

'This is…sooo….boring!' Was the thought of most of the students.

Most of the students at this point weren't paying attention. Blake was faking looking over the class textbook while actually readying a copy of Ninjas of Love, Yang was looking at the professor but wasn't really paying attention, Weiss was actually taking notes while trying to not be bored out of her mind, and Ruby was, well it looks like she's taking notes, she's actually doodling. Since the area of benches was only big enough for four, Goken took to sitting next to Jaune whom was trying to stay awake.

Goken had stopped paying attention and had his eyes closed. He and Jaune were far enough away and he figured maybe Blake or Yang would let him copy their notes…maybe Blake will let him copy her notes. Now Goken wasn't asleep, far from it. He was going through something known as image training. In his mind, he was fighting the Ursai that he and Yang found at the beginning of their entrance exam in the Emerald Forest. For the demi-Saiyan, it was easy. The Ursai were young and immature, just as they were in the forest.

The image Ursai fought as berserkers, charging for Goken with each chance they had.

"Geez, this is almost too easy." He snarked with a grin. He was feeling pretty good. He was teammates with his old friends, yes Weiss got on his nerves, but he would get over it and vice-versa, maybe. But he had Ruby, Blake, and Yang. He was in Beacon Academy like his master told him to join, he got a nice Zenkai boost between the Senzu Beans and a good night's sleep. He'd deal with his missing bed later; he had a sleeping bag which would be enough.

The Ursai charged again and he was tired of playing defensive. Goken rushed forward, delivering a flurry of punches to the one Ursa. With a quick ki blast to the head, one fell dead. The next one roared in rage and charged forward, Goken's response was simple.

"KAMEHAMEHA!" He roared and released the attack. The blue-white wave blew through the Ursa and it fell to the floor, dead before evaporating into black mist. Goken was tempted to continue his image training but decided against it. It would only be so long that Professor Port wouldn't keep notice. He'd better wake up. He woke up when he saw Weiss' hand shoot up.

"I DO SIR!" She yelled in anger and determination.

'Weiss?' The rest of the team thought but Goken was just confused. He turned to Jaune in confusion, but the blond knight only shrugged his shoulders. Jaune had stopped paying attention also and lamented to just making sure Goken didn't get busted for falling asleep.

"I wasn't sleeping." He argued in a hushed voice as Port spoke up.

"Well then, let's find out." He spoke and pointed to a cage that he had brought it.

"Step forward and face your opponent."

Weiss stood up to get out of her uniform and into her battle outfit as Goken sat up.

"Ah, Mr. Son Goken. I'm hoping you're feeling refreshed, I'm guessing you didn't sleep well last night?" Professor Port spoke sarcastically. Goken looked like a deer in head lights as most of the class went.

"Oooohhhh."

"Now now students, no need to 'Oooohhh' but Mr. Goken, I want you to join the rest of your team. Right now, you'll be sitting in the front so I can keep a better eye on you."

Goken hung his head in shame as he took Weiss' seat between Ruby and Yang.

"Yes sir." He mumbled

"Busted." Yang teased him, Goken almost flipped her off…but settled for just sticking his tongue out at her and watching the upcoming battle. Professor Port however, noticed there was the telltale signs of physical activity regarding the boy.

'Hmm, he wasn't sleeping though.' The professor thought.

'He actually looks like he was doing some light exercise, image training maybe. Smart but not while in class. I'll talk to him after class.'

As Weiss stepped forward, having changed out of her uniform and into her battle outfit. Myrtenaster was in her hands and already in her stance. The professor took his weapon, a combination of a two-sided battle axe and a blunderbuss rifle as her team cheered.

"Go Weiss!" Yang shouted happily

"Fight well!" Blake cheered in a bit more of a controlled manner as she waved a small flag that said RWBYS on it.

"You can do it!" Goken cheered, kind of to Weiss' shock. Goken and her may not be on good terms but he knows Weiss has strength behind her and he knows she'll put up a good fight.

"Yeah! Represent Team RWBYS!" Ruby cheered and Weiss shot a glare at their leader.

"Ruby! I'm trying to focus!" She snapped, making her shrink back a little.

"Oh right…I'm sorry." Ruby said sadly, having a kicked puppy look on her face.

Blake, Yang, and Goken's expressions changed from cheerful to irritated. Okay, maybe Ruby was showing too much exuberance but too completely admonish her…Weiss wasn't exactly favoriting with the rest of the team right now. Even Professor Port's attitude changed, not that they really noticed now.

'I guess I'll need to talk to Ms. Schnee after class also. But for now, let's get class finished.' He thought seriously and raised his weapon.

"Alright, let the match…begin!" He shouted and cut the lock on the cage, releasing the creature. It was a boarbatusk Grimm, the creature charged to the Schnee Heiress with intent to impale her on its tusks. Weiss spun on her heel and slashed at the Grimm. There was no damage to the creature as the sound of her blade bouncing off the creature's natural armor. The Grimm slowed its charge to a stop and turned, facing Weiss as she growled in frustration.

"Haha, weren't expecting that, were you?" Professor Port taunted a little. Weiss looked back at the teacher exasperatedly.

"Hang in there Weiss!" Ruby cheered her teammate on. She was the only one who did. While the others paid attention, the only one that really had interest invested as Goken, if only to see the fight.

'Okay, so a Boarbatusk has a strong defense upfront, charging headfirst probably won't be best. It's probably immature too since it charged headfirst as it is. Hard armor patches on its hide too…but what about its belly?' He thought as Weiss charged headfirst despite that being a bad idea, but the Grimm was smarter than Goken gave it credit for. It turned its head at the last second and caught Weiss' weapon in its tusk.

'Ah damn it all!' Weiss growled in anger.

"A bold new approach! I like it!" Port laughed much to the heiress rage.

"Come on Weiss, show it who's boss!" Ruby continued to cheer for her teammate, Weiss shot Ruby a glare that the young leader didn't notice. Unfortunately, that distraction caused the Grimm to yank the rapier from Weiss and threw the white-haired girl back. Her weapon landed on the other side of the room away from her and behind the Boarbatusk. Another swing of its head and Weiss was shoved back and onto the ground.

"Oho, what will you do without your weapon?" Port chortled.

But he noticed how she was so hostile to her leader and her teammate.

'And by the looks of it, so has the rest of the team.'

Weiss just barely rolled out of the way of charging Grimm, causing it to crash in the desks on the bottom floor and fall over, letting out a shout of pain. Quick on her feet, Weiss grabbed her weapon.

'Can't let myself get distracted so easily, just tune her out and…'

"Weiss! Go for its belly, there's no armor…"

"Stop telling me what to do!" Weiss snapped at Ruby, causing the silver-eyed girl to shrink back in sadness.

Goken went to get up but a sharp look from their teacher told him otherwise. His look screamed to let Weiss finish her battle and save his words for when there ISN'T a Grimm ready to kill her. Goken growled but relented, he was probably already in hot water for the image training, he didn't need outright disobedience on him also. The Boarbatusk squealed and tucked itself into a ball and, in fashion like certain hedgehog, did a Spin Dash at the heiress. With the Grimm charging, Weiss form a Glyph that made a makeshift shield that knocked the Grimm back and onto its back with a squeal of pain. In that same moment she formed another Glyph that held her at an angle.

'Shit…she was right…there is no armor.' For Weiss it was a bitter pill to swallow that Ruby was right, but she was also working off of adrenaline and launched herself forward, impaling the Boarbatusk with a sickening squelch that killed it. The Grimm let out a pained squeal as it died. Weiss panted heavily as her adrenaline rush faded. Tired but victorious, but she didn't feel victorious. She, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, master (in training) of the Schnee Glyph Bloodline, and a slayer of Grimm and yet…she must play second fiddle…to the child that is Ruby Rose. She didn't listen to or acknowledge Professor Port's words; she chose to glare at the silver eyed girl.

'Why? Why you, because you're special? You're only 2 years younger! Why are you the leader?! I should have been chosen!' Were the raging thoughts of the Heiress as the professors dismissed the class. Ruby's face fell more as everyone began to stand up and leave, Weiss stormed out without even a goodbye to her team. The remaining girls of the group shared looks of worry while the lone boy of the team glared at the heiress back.

"Sheesh, what's with her?" Jaune mumbled with worry at Weiss's actions, she may not have been the nicest to him, but she was still his snow angel…in his mind.

Goken got up, intended to give Weiss a piece of his mind but Professor Port stopped in.

"Son Goken, please stay, we have something to talk about…now." He spoke in a tone that left no room for argument or refusal.

No words were exchanged yet between the professor and the young Saiyan descendent. Goken did have a look of shame on his face for how he acted. Professor Port just finished chewing the boy out for falling asleep in class, to being ready to attack Weiss and acting out with a Grimm present. Said professor had a stern look on his face as he looked at the boy in front of him.

'Clearly his temper is a problem. He is 16, I suppose it's not too uncommon for that to be there. But on a mission, that could be a problem. It's obvious he has a soft spot for Ms. Rose, a crush maybe…or something else…either way.' The professor cleared his throat.

"Now I hope you understand young man, save your trainings for after classes…unless you have combat class of course. And try to keep a lid on your temper. Meditate, listen to music, read a book, but do something. And you can't be so protective of Ms. Rose."

Goken opened his mouth to protest but the professor stopped him.

"I understand she's your leader and your friend, but after these 4 years, there is no guarantee that you two will still be on a team together. You'll have to keep in mind that you can't be over her shoulder 24/7. Be her friend, protect her if needed, but let her fight her battles."

Goken's shoulder slumped at the professor's words, relenting to him. As much as it bothered him to admit it, Professor Port was right. He and Ruby were on a team now…but that might not hold true in the future. With their conversation finished, Port motioned for the boy to head to his next class. Goken left the room, evidently, he had some thinking to do.

'Of course, Ms. Schnee needs to be talked to as well.' The professor thought as he gathered his materials to head for the next class he was to teach.

Goken was walking down the hall, trying to cool off a little. He wasn't mad at Professor Port, he knew the lecture was coming the moment he was caught doing his image training. No, he was mad at himself for letting his temper get the better of him and at Weiss for singling Ruby out. Deciding that he would do some training after class, he continued down the hall but out of the corner of his eye noticed Ruby having a conversation with Ozpin. Ruby looked pretty upset to him and he wanted to go see her but Professor Port's words rang in his ears, and rang true.

'He's right…I can't continue to baby Ruby. I can ask her later but for now, maybe I should let Headmaster Ozpin talk with her.' Goken thought, worried for his friend but relenting as he walked back in the other direction.

"Do you think she was right?" Ruby asked Ozpin with teary eyes.

"Did you make a mistake?" She looked up at him, almost pleading that his answer would be no.

'But…what if Weiss is right? I never was a leader back at Signal. Heck, I still had 2 more years until I graduated. Do I want him to be wrong maybe?' She thought as the self-doubt began to enter her mind.

"That remains to be seen." Ozpin said with a kind smile and a gentle chuckle in his voice.

Ruby gave him a confusing look.

'What does he mean?'

"What do you mean?" She voiced her confusion to the headmaster.

'I think she's more like Summer than she realizes.' Ozpin thought sadly.

"I mean it's only been one day." He spoke as he sighed sadly.

"Ruby, I've made more mistakes than any man, woman, or child on this planet. But, at this moment, I do not consider your appointment to leader to be one of them." He leaned in gently so he could look at her eye to eye.

"Do you?" He asked her gently.

Ruby wasn't sure how to answer. If she said yes to his question, that will show her insecurities. If she said no then that was honestly just false bravado and she knows it.

Before she could answer thought, Ozpin continued, seeing her confusion.

"Being a leader isn't just a title you carry into battle with you. It's a badge you wear constantly. If you aren't always performing at you absolute best and striving to improve, what reason do you give others to believe in you?" He spoke sagely.

Ruby went wide-eyed a little.

'Always…improve? And performing at my best huh?' She thought as Ozpin turned away, but not before giving her one last word of advice.

"You've been burdened with a daunting responsibility Ruby. I advise you to take some time and think about how you will uphold it." He spoke as he stepped away and back to his office. Taking a sip of coffee from his mug that…somehow…was still piping hot. Ruby turned also, seeing away also, seeing Weiss and Professor Port with Professor Port walking away. Weiss looking to be in thought also as Ruby smirked, thinking of her words.

'Studying huh?' She thought.

'Always improving…maybe but there's someone else I need to see.' She nodded as she rushed off.

As the same time Ruby had been getting her lecture from Headmaster Ozpin, Weiss had been getting one from Professor Port. Having just told Ruby off, the Schnee Heiress was feeling a little better and a little worse at the same time. She got her frustration with Ruby off her chest…for now. But there was still Goken and the fact she's not the leader of the team.

'Maybe if I talk to one of the professors, surely one of them will see why I'm the better choice.' She thought in a self-assured manner. She found herself by Professor Port and decided he'd be the best one to talk to.

"Excuse me, Professor Port?" Weiss called out to him in a polite manner.

Professor Port, whom was admiring the sunset, heard her voice and turned to her.

"Ah, Ms. Schnee, what can I do for you?" The professor spoke in a manner both jovial and professional.

"I-I enjoyed your lecture." She spoke bashfully.

'Not.' She thought, it was boring…she thought so like the rest…but if she's going to get her way somehow, she'll need to tow the line a little, and some flattery won't hurt.

"Of course you did child, you have the blood of a true huntress in your veins." He spoke, making Weiss smile.

'But you also seem to be irritated with Ms. Rose…something about her but what…let's see if I can get her to tell me.' He thought as he looked at her student look away in an upset manner.

"Hmm…something's troubling you?" He questioned her, to which she nodded.

"Yes, sir." She spoke sadly.

"Dear girl, confess to me your strife!" He spoke in an over the top and exuberant manner that Weiss didn't take notice to.

'This is it.' They both thought as Weiss spoke.

"I-I, think I should have been the leader of team RWBYS." She spoke, trying to sound humble

'And there is it.' He thought with a hidden smirk.

"That's preposterous." He scoffed. Weiss's jaw dropped.

"Excuse me?" She asking, still shock and bewildered at the professor

"I've believed in Professor Ozpin for many years, and the man has never one led me astray." He spoke proudly.

Weiss was shocked, almost wide-eyed at Professor Port's words.

'Just like that?! Just because his boss said so?!' She thought angrily

"So you'd just blindly accept his decision despite see how exceptional I am?!" She almost shouted but kept her tone controlled, even thought some heat rang out from her voice. Port's eyes narrowed a little, his tone becoming stern as he spoke to her.

"With all due respect, you exceptional skill on the battle field is only matched by your poor attitude." He told her seriously to which she reacted.

"How dare you!?" She yelled in shock and anger.

"My point exactly." He told her to which she glared in frustration and denial.

'Damn it!' She thought as the professor continued to speak.

"I see a girl in front of me who spent her life getting exactly what she always wanted."

"That's not even remotely true." Weiss scoffed and crossed her arms, turning her head away from the professor. Port raised an eyebrow but said nothing as Weiss' stance slowly lessened and her tone changed to reluctantly agreeing.

"Well…not entirely true." She admitted.

Inside, Port smiled and nodded.

'I think she's getting it.' He thought as he spoke.

"So the outcome didn't fall in your favor. Do you really believe acting in such a manner would cause those in power to reconsider their decision?" He asked her, but he knew the answer, as did she.

'No…they wouldn't…they'd probably see me as Professor Port is saying…a spoiled child who always got her way.' Weiss thought sadly, ashamed of how she acted. This isn't like Atlas where all she has to do is throw her name around and people will do as she says. No, they couldn't care less here.

'And I came here to get away from my father and the Schnee heiress responsibilities…to prove myself as a huntress.' She thought, becoming a bit more determined.

Seeing her eyes change, some warmth and recognition in them, Professor Port spoke again. His tone becoming gentler but still stern.

"So instead of fretting about what you don't have, savor what you do. So hone your skill, perfect every technique, and be not the best leader but the best person you can be." He spoke with passion and kindness, hoping to drive the point home.

Weiss slowly began to smile a little at her professor's words.

'I guess…I owe Ruby an apology. I really was unfair to her…and, maybe I'll see if I can talk to Goken…at least try and clear the air with him.' She thought as the professor walked off, bidding her good night.

What none of them knew…well…maybe Ozpin did…Goken had stayed close by. He did want to at least talk to Ruby and give Weiss a piece of his mind. But…he couldn't. He looked up into the sky, seeing the sun setting and he sighed.

Night soon fell at Beacon Academy, the door to Team RWBYS dorm room opened and in stepped Weiss. She took notice of Blake and Yang fast asleep. Blake almost seemed to be curled up like a cat and Yang was sprawled out on her bed, snoring.

'Hmm…Goken isn't here, it was lights out not too long ago.' Weiss thought and sighed in annoyance. Evidently he was somewhere doing God knowns what. Not that she could really talk right now. She pulled back the cover of Ruby's bunk, the silver-eyed leader was fast asleep. Ruby was out cold, snoring loudly as she slept. Weiss wasn't surprised by that…honestly, she was more surprised by what was on Ruby's bed. Homework, textbooks, even different books on fighting styles like hand-to-hand combat.

'Ruby…she's studying? Maybe I judged her wrong.' She thought as she gently shook her teammate.

Ruby snorted as her sleep was suddenly interrupted by…

'Weiss?' She blinked as sleep quickly left her.

"Weiss?!" She almost shouted as she took note of her teammate.

"I-I was studying and fell asleep…I'm sorry." She spoke quickly. Weiss rolled her eyes and covered her mouth with a gentle shush, not wanting to wake Blake and Yang. Weiss took note of the empty coffee mug, evidently the youngest of the group tried to cram as much as possible in a single night with a caffeine high.

'Well, not that I haven't done that before.' Weiss thought, remembering her younger years.

"How do you take your coffee?" She asked in hushed tone.

Ruby looked confused as she didn't get why she asked that.

"I…I don't…" She spoke in a confused tone until Weiss interrupted her.

"Just answer the question." The white-haired heiress spoke impatiently without yelling.

'Uh! Cream and five sugars!" Ruby answered quickly.

Weiss rolled her eyes with a sigh.

'Of course she'd like it sweet.' She thought.

"Don't move." Were her only words.

Ruby shifted in the bed, still trying to piece things together…Weiss…was being nice to her.

'This is the same Weiss that called me being leader a mistake…right?' Ruby thought in a confused fashion.

Weiss returned a couple minutes later with a fresh and hot…-ish cup of coffee due to all the cream and sugar Ruby likes in it. She handed the cup of coffee to the younger girl and gave her a small smile. It was genuine and kind one as her blue eyes also shined kindly. Weiss took in a deep breath, Professor Port's words echoing in her mind.

'Be not the best leader, but the best person you can be.' She thought as she spoke.

"Ruby…I think you have what it takes to be a good leader." She told her kindly. Ruby went wide-eyed again, shocked but soon her shocked faded into happiness. Hearing those words gave her some comfort and confidence. She smiled to her teammate as Weiss continued.

"Just know, I am going to be the best teammate you'll ever have." Weiss declared, it honestly made Ruby feel better. She knew Weiss was strong and very intelligent. She knew with her as her teammate, she could grow as a better leader. Weiss gave Ruby one more smile as she hopped down from the bed.

"Good luck studying." She quickly hopped back up.

"That's wrong by the way." She pointed out as she went to the door, intent on finding the only male of their team.

As Ruby got back to her studying, Weiss spoke up one more time.

"Hey Ruby…two things…" Weiss asked her.

"Uh-huh?" Ruby questioned her, looking at her.

"I always wanted bunk beds as a kid…and where is Goken at, it's lights out. I don't think anyone wants him getting in trouble." Weiss spoke with a small chuckle. Ruby smiled and pointed out the window.

"He's in the courtyard, he wanted to finish something before bed but he probably lost track of time and well…I guess the rest of us fell asleep." Ruby chuckled sheepishly.

Weiss nodded with a smile and closed the door and Ruby smiled brightly, going back to her studying.

"Damn it…come on…one more time…" The demi-saiyan growled as he began to throw ki spheres. The ki spheres went a certain distance away before stopping in mid-air…suspended. Goken panted heavily, he was only able to get 6 ki spheres to start. His arms trembled as he held them out.

'6 is my limit right now…I need to practice this…but lets see if I can get this right…using my ki…manipulate the ki spheres I have suspeneded…cross my arms to use my ki to have them collide with my enemy…this move is…

"HELLZONE GRANADE!" He yelled and crossed his arms…the ki spheres rushed towards each other…and to him.

'Ah crapbaskets.' He thoughts and shouted in pain as his own attack crashed into him.

Goken groaned in pain as his attack knocked him on his ass and into the dirt. Burns and bruises littered his body. His training gi had been burned from his training.

'Damn…I still can't control that one yet…what am I doing wrong?' He growled out but stopped when he heard footsteps. Letting his eyes focus as he turned his head to the sound, he looked kinda…well…surprised honestly.

"Weiss?" He whispered out, his throat dry from training. He wasn't the only one surprised. Weiss was surprised to see the state he was in.

'How? What training has he been doing? Why hasn't his aura healed his injuries? Don't tell me that idiot let his aura run down to nothing.' She thought in anger and worry…she was actually a little worried about him, seeing how he was. The Schnee heiress approached the descendent of Son Goku and crouched down, making sure her dress covered her to not give him a peek…not that he had the energy to even think about that. Goken opened his mouth to spoke but Weiss stopped him.

"What can I do?" She asked gently. He went wide-eyed but relented, he overdid it again and didn't even have the energy to grab a Senzu bean.

"Water…Senzu bean…there." He pointed at a water bottle and a small pouch next to the tree. Weiss didn't know what a Senzu bean was…but figured it would help him until they got to the infirmary.

"Here, sip slowly." She spoke in tone that was…well…almost motherly…as she held the water bottle to Goken's lips. He was in no shape to question things as he drank the water. With his throat quenched, Weiss put the bean in his mouth. A loud crunch was heard as he ate the bean. His body, which was tense from pain, relaxed slightly. He let out a relaxed sigh as he sprang up to his feet, scaring the white-haired girl.

'What the…how the…when the…' She questioned before getting mad.

"If that was ploy to get me to feed you Son Goken…" Weiss threatened to which Goken waved his hands in defence.

"It wasn't I swear…that was a Senzu bean…basically it heals anyone that eats it back to full health and keeps them full for a long time." He spoke, not wanting to get smacked by her. Weiss shot him a suspicious glare but relented.

"That's a pretty interesting semblance you have." She spoke honestly, pretty impressed by it.

'Semblance?' Goken thought in confusion and turned to her.

"You thought…what I was doing…my flight, my Kamehameha, Hellzone Granade…that's my semblance?" He asked her with a raised eyebrow. Now Weiss was confused as she spoke up.

"Obviously, what else could that have been?" She spoke in a matter of fact tone.

"Ki." Was all his said as he stretched, he didn't know what time it was but he figured it was almost lights out…he was wrong.

"Ki? What is…ki?" She asked him in confusion.

"Ki…Life energy." He told her as he took a long drink from the water bottle until it was empty.

Weiss looked confused but chose to let the questions on ki die down for now.

"Skipping that then…what is your semblance?" She asked him.

Goken was a little wierded out by Weiss' questions, until he remembered watching her talk with Professor Port.

'First she gets me a Senzu and water and now she's asking me about my powers? I guess she's genuine.' He thought as he exhaled lightly with a smile.

"Honestly Weiss…I don't have a semblance." He told her. Weiss looked a little shocked but not entirely so.

'It's not too uncommon for people to not discover their semblances until much later but still…'

"So…all that strength, your stamina, your power…that's just from training and using your aura?" She questioned carefully.

Goken shook his head negatively.

"No…you see, I never had my aura unlocked." He told her sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head similar to his ancestor.

Weiss looked floored. No aura, no semblance…it was unheard of. All that enter one of the Hunters Academies have, at least, basic understanding of aura, and an idea of their semblance. And yet him…

'Who are you Son Goken?' She thought as she looked at the demi-saiyan, a serious glare coming into her eyes.

"Bullshit." She said bluntly, almost flooring Goken with her use of language. A glyph sprang up and Weiss launched forward, seeming to glide, at the demi-saiyan. Deciding to put her money where her mouth was, he moved just enough that she'd cut his cheek…and she did. Weiss stood there as Goken winced from the sting of the cut. Blood leaked from the wound but it was shallow enough that it would heal in a day or so.

Weiss glared at the wound on his cheek, as if trying to will it to heal. But it wouldn't. Her glare slowly became one of shock and realization that Goken told the truth…and there horror that she did that to him. In her mind…if she was just a little more to the left.

'I…I'd have…no…' She trembled and sunk to her knees. If she was just a little more to the left…she'd have killed him. Okay, she may have forgotten about the Senzu beans at the moment but that's not the point. Goken wiped the blood away and approached Weiss…only for the heiress to punch him in the gut. Goken grunted, it didn't wind him but he felt it. Weiss began to pound on his chest shouting obscenities at him.

"YOU IDIOT! JERK! ASSHOLE! WHY DID YOU LET ME DO THAT!?" Weiss shouted, some tears in her eyes that she cut a member of her team.

Goken smiled kindly.

"Because…I decided to trust you. I could have dodged that. And besides, you'd never believe me if I didn't. I don't have an aura or a semblance. I use ki, life energy, to fight." He spoke again, his tone gentle as he wiped the blood from his cheek. Weiss had so many questions until the sound of grass crunching alerted them.

"Headmaster Ozpin?" Wiess asked as she and Goken turned to their headmaster. A kind smile on his face as he nodded.

"Good evening Ms. Schnee, I take it you were out finding a member of your team? Mr. Son, I noticed you were training in your ki manipulation." The headmaster sipped his coffee, a response not needed from his students.

"That said, it's rather late. Lights out was about 30 minutes ago. I think it best you two head back to your dorm and get some rest. Wouldn't want one of you falling asleep in class again right?" He teased, causing the demi-saiyan to look away and blush in embarrassment. Weiss sighed and shot him a disapproving look.

'What am I going to do with you?' She thougth but shook her head at that.

'Why did I say that? Ruby is the leader and he's Blake and Yang's teammate.' She blushed a little. Deciding to walk off to their dorm room, making sure Goken was following her…and laying some ground rules as he is sharing a room with four other girls.

Goken looked back and up for a moment, he nodded and continued as Ozpin sipped his coffee. Soon, the headmaster spoke.

"So…what do you think of his progress so far…Piccolo?"

The sound of footsteps landing behind Ozpin was heard. Behind him was a green skinned male wearing a purple gi with a cloak and turban on. He was a tall being, roughly 7 ft in height with pointed green ears. He had a stern but wise look. His age was unknown but he almost looked to be middle aged, just shy of his elder years. This man…no…this warrior…is the reincarnation of the demon king become defender of Remnant, rival to Son Goku and mentor to Son Gohan, Piccolo.

"Well, he's not Gohan or Goku I'll say that, but that's not a bad thing. He'll grow Ozpin…or would you prefer Ozma?" Piccolo snarked.

"Hehe, Ozpin now old friend. Has Dende found anything about Salem?" Ozpin asked seriously.

"Yeah…she's pretty well hidden in her agendas but he found something. She has a small group that plans on sneaking into the Vytel Festival but her objective and who they are we aren't sure yet. We also think she's gotten the White Fang and Roman Torchwick involved…but again I'm not sure how yet." Piccolo scowled thinking about the damage the Grimm Queen had planned.

"I understand Piccolo, for now we will play ignorant. And train up Goken, I hate to say it…but we might need a legend with this."

Piccolo scoffed.

"Please…I'm telling you with how your warriors fight now, a Super Saiyan would be overkill. That said, it would give the runt a leg up." Piccolo mused.

'Goku…Gohan…all of you…I hope you're watching over things…I'm not sure how things will go but for Ozma to was Goken to be a Super Saiyan…watch us old friends.' Piccolo thought as the night went on and his student and teammates were all tucked in for the night.

(Fin)

Been a while since I touched this one. I've had this chapter mostly finished for a while just needed time to finish it.

Yes folks! I am having Piccolo and Dende in this story! Some of the Z Fighters that…realistically…could be alive…will be here. So expect cameos from Piccolo, Dende, Mr. Popo. Andriod 17 and 18, and of course, Majin Buu. And if I'm feeling daring…maybe Beerus, Whis, and Frieza…big maybe.
