Hello, all. Thank you, everyone, for the over 15000 views that Things That Should Have Happened in Cannon surpassed since its last update. Much love from Arizona to all of you.

It was a few hours before the Hogwarts Express was set to pull out of Hogsmeade station to signify the end of the 1992-1993 Hogwarts school year and Luna Lovegood was sitting at the Ravenclaw table in the Great Hall having just finished a breakfast of pancakes, sausage patties, and Budweiser when a school barn owl approached her seat and dropped a letter into her hands before flying off again.

Luna unfurled the letter to read:

Dear Miss Lovegood-

Please meet me in my office as soon as you receive this letter.

-Professor Flitwick.

Luna had no idea what might be up, but she obeyed the letter and walked up to Flitwick's office and calmly knocked on the door.

"Please come in, Miss Lovegood, " said Professor Flitwick kindly as he slowly opened the door.

"Hello, Professor Flitwick, " said Luna warmly.

"No need to sit, we shouldn't be here too long, " said Professor Flitwick in a businesslike voice, "But I saw the notice you put up on the Ravenclaw Common Room Message Board last night. Did you get all your books, clothes, and possessions back?"

"Oh, yes, " said Luna nonchalantly as she stared at the ceiling, "Throughout the year people would take my possessions and hide them you know. As I have to go home today, I really did need them back."

"Do you know why people have been stealing and hiding your possessions?" Professor Flitwick asked Luna quietly.

"Oh, " said Luna dreamily, staring off at the walls now, "A lot of people just like to mess with me and torment me because they think I'm odd. You know, my radish earrings and butterbeer cork necklaces and such. But it's all good. It all always comes back in the end and it's all good fun."

"No, it's NOT all good, " said Professor Flitwick firmly. "No one deserves to be harassed or tormented because they choose to wear some unusual accessories or have some different beliefs. At any rate, taking the property of another person without his or her permission is stealing. Stealing and hiding other people's personal property is mean and uncalled for. What was the worst it got for you this year?"

"The time around Christmas when I had to go barefoot in the cold for several days because my roommates had stolen and hidden all of my shoes and I didn't succeed at finding any of them until they eventually miraculously reappeared the day before the new semester started in January, " explained Luna.

Professor Flitwick had a very steely look on his face now and said clearly, "Your shoes were returned to you just in time for you to not have to go to class barefoot, " realized Professor Flitwick, "Your roommates must have known that if you went to class barefoot what they had done would be discovered."

"That's almost certain, " agreed Luna.

"By the way, " said Professor Flitwick clearly, "You can change roommates to former roommates. Because of the circumstance of you having your rightful property taken from you regularly, I am going to give you your own room in Ravenclaw tower. "

"That sounds great in theory, " said Luna slowly, "But it won't stop other people from getting into my room. The spell to unlock most doors is a first year spell after all."

"Ah, " smiled Professor Flitwick, "We've hit the key point. Kindly follow me back to Ravenclaw Tower."

Professor Flitwick and Luna walked at a leisurely pace and came to the entrance to Ravenclaw tower.

The entrance was closed, and Professor Flitwick and Luna found themselves faced with a riddle.

Voiceless it cries.
Wingless flutters.
Toothless bites.
Mouthless mutters.

"Wind, " guessed Luna a nanosecond later.

"Nice thinking, " replied the same voice and the entrance opened to let Professor Flitwick and Luna in.

"Just follow me, " said Professor Flitwick instructionally.

"Yes, Professor Flitwick, " promised Luna.

Professor Flitwick started walking in a zigzag pattern with Luna tailing behind him.

"So, " explained Professor Flitwick when they reached the room with the door closed, "I have placed a permanent Anti Invader Charm on this room. The Anti Invader Charm makes it impossible for anyone but the current user of the room to decide who to allow and not allow in into the room. I have already put the spells on this room to make it yours. Other people can only enter if you let them so you can choose to not allow anyone besides yourself to enter this room. Once you close the door from the inside, the Anti Invader Charm will take full effect."

Luna quickly opened the door and entered the room and pushed the door shut again and suddenly heard a loud bang which she knew meant that Ant Invader Charm had been successfully completed.

Looking around, Luna happily saw that her trunk, wand, and other possessions had already been transferred to this room, so she was ready to go home and see her dad after a long first year away at Hogwarts.

Luna smiled. Her second year was going to be a lot less anxious knowing that people would not be able to get into her room to steal and hide her stuff. As Long as Luna could account for her own things, she didn't have to worry about other people getting at them anymore.

"Thanks, Professor Flitwick, " said Luna to herself as she finished packing and carried her trunk out of her new room, closing the door behind her.

"Thank you, Professor Flitwick, " said Luna again, this time looking her head of house face to face, "I tried to take it all in stride, but I'm not going to miss wondering what happened to my things or when I will see them again."

"I take it you will not allow anyone but yourself access to your room?" guessed Professor Flitwick.

"Certainly not, " confirmed Luna, "Having my own room is the perfect solution. But how do I keep people out of my room?"

"You don't have to do anything. The only way for another person to access your room is for you to explicitly tell them you want them to come in and show them the way in. However, permission to enter your room is permanent once you grant it to someone so a word to the wise to tread carefully. "

"I understand, " responded Luna in an unusually serious voice so that Professor Flitwick knew she had gotten the message.

"I'm delighted you got an O on your end of year Charms exam, " Professor Flitwick told Luna happily, "I'm always happy when my Eagles do well in my subject."

"She died when I was nine, " said Luna quietly, "But my mom would be immensely proud of me. Charms was her favorite subject too. And I know how proud dad will be of me when we discuss my report card."

"Have a nice summer, Miss Lovegood, I'll let you go now." finished Professor Flitwick with a smile.

"Have a nice summer, Professor Flitwick, " returned Luna with a smile of her own, "And thanks again."

A/N: I always thought Luna should have been given her own room that only she could access at some point to stop the stealing and hiding of her possessions.
