By the time they had reached the bar the next morning, the bounty hunters were already waiting for them. They had brought two more people to help.

"Where is our gold?" a green twi'lek asked.

"You get half now, and half once the job is done." Ventress snorted.

Kenobi held out a large bag and sat it on the ground, the twi'lek walked up and opened the bag, and placed it on her shoulder.

"Alright, what do you need us to do?" she asked.

"Let's go inside," Kenobi replied and walked into the deserted bar.

Once everyone was settled, he continued. "We need a distraction. You will pretend to rob the market, but first, what are your names?" Kenobi asked.

"What does it matter? We don't ask yours, and you don't need to know ours." a Human male replied.

Ventress rolled her eyes. "So shall we call you Asshole?"

The twi'lek replied."What my friend is trying to say is it will be less confusing if we can call each of you something."

"My name is Dosse. The asshole is Alcor, and this is Jakar, Kiratt, and Myn.

"Nice to meet you. My name is Ben, and this is Alruia. Here are some communicators. They are on a secure channel. We will notify you when you are to rob the market. Once Alruia and I have infiltrated the headquarters we'll notify you, and you are to get out of the city and stand by the ship in case we need a quick exit. Anything you acquire is yours to keep, but I must ask you not to kill. Incapacitate, yes, but do not kill anyone that isn't an immediate threat to your life. Our issue is with Alyonen, no one else.

"What do you want with Alyonen?" Myn asked.

"Information about who has been raiding the farmers and why. We are looking for those responsible," the Jedi replied.

"Why?"

"Does it matter?" Ventress asked icily.

"You'll have to excuse Myn. This is her first mission, and she doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut," Dosse said.

"That's quite alright," Kenobi replied. "We are looking for two dathomirian brothers. They are responsible for my father's death, and we are seeking justice."

"Does one of them have robotic legs?" Myn asked quietly.

Kenobi's eyes opened wide. "Yes, have you seen them?"

"He killed my parents and burnt our farm to the ground. They didn't talk or it seemed they didn't even use weapons. It was like my parents were lifted off the ground and then just died. Then they killed my sisters the same way. They allowed me to escape. I don't know why. Maybe to serve as a warning to others?"

"I am sorry for your loss. How long ago did your parents die?" Kenobi asked gently.

"Two months ago."

Ventress looked at Kenobi. It was only a few weeks since they fought them.

"Let's go. It will take us a few hours to get there." Ventress said and walked out of the bar.

They arrived just past the solar noon. They were able to get into the city without too much trouble. Ventress was walking through the vendors looking at the various weapons when Kenobi caught up with her.

"Do you really need another blaster? You have five of them strapped to you, along with your sabers. I have no idea where you put them all in that outfit."

"Wouldn't you like to know?" Ventress flirted while caressing the gun.

Kenobi raised his eyebrows. "I think that will have to be a mystery for another day.

"Are you ready?" Ventress asked, putting the gun back on the table.

When he didn't reply, she looked over at him and saw that he was staring at two lightsabers on the table. "They friends of yours?"

"No, I don't believe so. I don't recognize them. But I can sense them." The Jedi replied quietly.

"Come on, we have a job to do." She grabbed his hand, and lead him from the table towards the heavily fortified headquarters.

She didn't let go of his hand until they reached the side of the wall surrounding the Red Nova, even though the moment of sadness faded as soon as they left the vendor. She didn't know why she kept holding it but found it comforting, nonetheless. She told herself that allowed the people they passed to think they were a couple on a stroll around the market. They found a deserted alley backing up to a security wall protecting the headquarters. Ventress took off her cloak and hid it underneath a rock. They had planned to scale the wall once the fake robbery distracted the guards. She reached for the communicator in her pocket.

"Dosse, it's time. Good luck."

"To you as well." Dosse voice replied.

About a minute later, Ventress heard shouts and blaster fires. Several guards left their post. She looked over to Kenobi who nodded, and it took three jumps for them to reach the top. She laid down and took the binoculars that Kenobi offered.

'There are about 10 guards in front of us. To the left, there appears to be an exhaust port, that is where we should enter. To the right, it appears to be a guard tower with a sniper. If we stay low on the top of the wall, we should reach the exhaust port unnoticed." She whispered.

Kenobi nodded and made their way to the exhaust port. They reached it without any trouble. He forced the gate of the port open and put his respirator on. Ventress did the same thing before putting the gate back on. Kenobi nodded his head towards the long tunnel and they ran silently until they reached a junction that went four different directions. Ventress motioned to keep going straight and started down the path when Kenobi grabbed her hand and shook his head. She turned around and saw that he was pointing up to a tunnel. She nodded and jumped up. After landing, she looked up through the grate and saw the first floor. She heard two voices talking.

"Have they caught the ones responsible?"

"Not yet. A few individuals were involved at first, but in the chaos, it seems to have grown. It seems there is a rebellion starting."

"We need to take care of this before Alyonen finds out. Otherwise, it will be our heads."

"Is he back from the meeting with the Hutts?"

"He arrived a few hours ago. I am supposed to meet with him soon to discuss the recent asset we acquired. Please take care of this as quickly and as quietly as you can."

Ventress waited until their footsteps disappeared before quietly removing the grate and heaving herself onto the floor. She ran to an open door across the hall. Kenobi followed. As soon as they were inside she shut the door behind her and removed her respirator. The office seemed deserted at the moment.

"Get back to the ship. You have more incoming," Kenobi whispered into the communicator.

"Roger."

Ventress sat at the computer terminal and looked for the building's blueprints. It seems this person left their computer logged in. She would bet it was one of the two men that she just heard talking. Kenobi walked over and put his hand on the back of the chair.

"Find anything interesting?"

"Alyonen's office is on the third floor, right above us. The shaft we just left will take us there, I imagine there will be guards outside."

"That's convenient." Kenobi chuckled.

"The armory and barracks are on this floor. The computer doesn't have access to the personnel currently on the base. I could risk trying to bypass the security, but I would rather put a floor or two between us and the barracks before I attempt it."

"Agreed. Can you see if you can find us a quick exit if we need it?"

"From the blueprints, there aren't a lot of options. The exhaust port is one, the sewers, and there is a landing pad on the roof, but it will only be viable if there is a ship."

"Could Dosse pick us up from there?" Kenobi asked

"It's feasible, if they don't get shot down or abandon us. Bounty hunters are not the most trustworthy bunch. It was foolish to give them half of their fee upfront, Kenobi. Most of my colleagues would take the money and not look back."

"I have a good feeling about them. They will not abandon us. You need to trust people more, Darling." Kenobi placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Trust is for fools. It will only get yourself killed."

"After everything we have been through, don't you trust me?"

Ventress ignored the question. She was trying to plan their escape plan. It seemed their options were limited. Hope the bounty hunters didn't abandon them or fight their way to the sewers. She preferred the latter since she had little faith in the bounty hunters.

"Let's go," the former assassin said. She walked over to the door and looked back at Kenobi who was still standing by the chair, with a slight look of frustration on his face. He gave a sigh and walked over to the door with his blaster in his hand.

"On my mark," he said, before putting the respirator back on.

Ventress nodded and did the same. They opened the door and discovered the hallway was deserted. Ventress looked over at Kenobi. Everything was a little too easy for them. They expected more resistance to get into the compound. Obviously, they were walking into yet another trap. Ventress looked over at Kenobi to convey that feeling through the force. Either Kenobi understood her or he felt it too, since he took off his respirator at the same time she did.

"I sense we are walking in to trap," Ventress whispered.

"Let's not keep them waiting."

They took the turbo lift to the third floor and found it all but deserted besides a cleaning robot. They proceeded to Alyonen's office and paused outside the door. She tried to use the force to see if Opress was inside and was unsuccessful. She looked over to Kenobi, who shook his head. He must not have sensed Maul either. Even though the brothers could hide their force signatures, she doubted they were here. It takes a lot of effort to learn how to hide your force signature. Opress had to have learned this skill in the past couple of weeks. It also wouldn't make sense, especially if they had already recruited Alyonen. Unless he disobeyed an order Maul would have only communicated via holoprojector. A slight feeling of relief went through Ventress. She wouldn't have to decide between the Nightsisters and Kenobi today.

Ventress grabbed her lightsabers and opened the door. The office appeared to be empty.
