Thought's

Never Borrow, Always Steal

Tipping the valet ten bucks as he handed him his keys Remy LeBeau climbed into the drivers seat of his rental car and placed the case on the passenger seat.

Ten bucks. Not too much or too little, just enough so he wouldn't be remembered.

Throwing his sunglasses on the dash in an irritated manor he slowly pulled away from the Taj Mahal Casino-the scene of his crime.

Remy Would've liked to hang around Atlantic City for a few more hours, taken in a game of Blackjack or two. But the mess he left at the hotel made that impossible he had to get back to NYC soon before it was discovered, if it hadn't been already.

"Merde, I'm a fuckin' professional!" The statement sounded no-more convincing now than it had the hundred plus times he'd repeated it to his self since leaving Aleister Green's Suite.

I'm a fuckin' professional!

I'm a fuckin' professional!

I'm a fuckin' professional!

Repeating it like some voodoo mantra or a god-damn irregular heartbeat. But it didn't help.

"Fuck it!"

What's done is done. All I gotta do now is drop off de case and I can just forget dis whole caper……Dat fuckin' case……What de hell might as well take a look.

Pulling over to the side of the road, Remy picked up the case and placed it on his lap.

"Locked."

He hadn't been given the code, but what good was a master thief who can't crack a three-digit numerical code on a briefcase? Popping the latches he opened the case.

"What de?"

The passing of a truck brought Remy out of a daze that he was sure lasted only seconds. Immediately shutting the case without daring to look again, he recalled the events that had brought him here.
