So, this one is an idea that I literally just had pop into my mind sitting in a dentist's chair on Monday morning while having a root canal. This idea literally jumped into my mind and I had a "why didn't I think of that one before" moment. This one deals with a time I think Harry should have been more proactive and refused to do something stupid Ron suggested instead of blindly following Ron.

Harry Potter's ears couldn't quite take in what he'd just heard Ron Weasley suggest.

"Could you repeat that please?" Harry asked Ron.

"We can fly the car to Hogwarts!" repeated Ron excitedly.

"NO!" declared Harry decisively.

"We're stuck, " reasoned Ron, "We've missed the train and we've got to get to Hogwarts, haven't we? Even underage wizards and witches are allowed to use magic in emergencies."

"This is not an emergency but an inconvenience, " said Harry in a crystal clear voice, "If we fly the car to Hogwarts, we risk getting caught. We risk the exposure of our world to the muggles. And honestly, we're bound to be caught. I don't trust the invisibility booster to hold up on a such a long trip. And even in and of it itself, I'd weary of that car breaking down on a long trip. Furthermore, if we steal that car and fly it to Hogwarts, even if we aren't caught right away what we did will eventually be found out and we'll be in worse trouble than if we deliberately caused mayhem in Snape's Potions class."

"But-" began Ron but Harry forestalled.

"You just want some adventure, " Harry told Ron bluntly, "I, on the other hand, don't want to get into trouble, don't trust the car to make that full journey, and can't bear the thought of being responsible for something going seriously haywire with our world. And how would your mom and dad feel if we did that. I'm throwing adventure to the wind here. I'm going to do the responsible thing and wait for your mom and dad to come back and explain it to them. Your dad will be able to arrange a more reasonable method of alternate transportation for us to get to Hogwarts on time. If you steal and fly that car, you're on your own and when your mom and dad get back, I'll tell them exactly what you did and how I tried to stop you. I don't think your mom and dad will be very proud of you if you do this."

Next nanosecond, Ron groaned as Arthur and Molly came into view and walked towards Harry and Ron.

"Did you miss the train, " Arthur asked Harry and Ron calmly.

"Yes," answered Harry honestly, "We couldn't get through the gateway. It sealed itself for some reason. "

"Well, " replied Arthur, "I'm going to take both of you to the Ministry with me by Side Along Apparition so that you can go to the cafeteria and have some lunch. Then later on I will also take you both to Hogwarts via Side Along Apparition. And Harry, I'm glad to see you reacted to this situation more maturely than Ron did. Molly and I overheard your argument. Harry, you hit on all the key points about why Ron's idea was stupider than petting a chimera. If Percy loves power and ambition too much, then Ron loves thrill and adventure too much."

"This was a case where I just couldn't blindly follow Ron, " said Harry proudly, "I just couldn't do something so retarded, dangerous, illegal, and potentially damaging to the Wizarding World."

"You made the responsible decision, " said Arthur proudly.
