Been in a groove lately, thanks for sticking it out with me through these years.
North was looking through the shelves of the convenience store, having to scour the stock to find the perfect snacks for her and Imato. She blushed when she caught herself caring too much again about Imato.
She really needed a new crush, she sighed loudly with a little growl coming out. The woman at the register cleared her throat but kept reading the magazine she had in hand. North glanced over to her and blushed, looking at the clock behind her made it all the more embarrassing. She'd been there for ten minutes already.
She put her face into her hands, 'Get it together North' she mentally slapped herself upside the head. Stark came around the shelf after finding what he wanted for a snack. Hurry up and get your ears out of your ass', he huffed as he passed her and sat patiently by the register with his snack in his mouth.
North glared at him, but he was right, she'd been hung up on impressing Imato with every little thing. Only because it was a little rare for her to be away from Aero. She groaned again, grabbing dried sardines and dried venison packs.
.
After checking out North made her way to the Library where she was to meet Imato. Grumpy over her hearts dumb yearning. She folded her arms with bags in tow, walking angrily with her short stature made her look too cute.
Yang had seen her walking down the path all angry like and could only give an 'awwwe~' as North reminded her of Weiss. She quickly got her scroll out and called her girlfriend, whom she missed very much.
.
Arriving at the Library North took note of the lack of students. It was quiet, almost too quiet but that was nothing, the thing that bothered her was her internal war.
Her heart was taken by Imato and the girl probably didn't know it. She grumbled once more as she swiftly made her way through the stacks and up the stairs to where Imato awaited her. She stopped when she saw that the table did indeed have books on them but Imato was nowhere to be seen.
Sighing, she set the snacks down and picked up Stark to sit in her lap. She stroked his ears and laughed whenever his tail wagged.
.
Imato had seen North enter the library, but before she called out to her she noticed the lack of emotion on the girl's face. Showing she was deep in thought, Imato couldn't help but cringe a little.
She couldn't exactly place the feeling she had whenever she saw North deep in thought. Sometimes when she looked North in the eyes and it was almost as if North was plotting her demise.
She wasn't really looking forward to spending her afternoon with the wolf faunus. She felt she would either upset North and cause Wind to come out or that she would be so boring that North will become difficult.
She really couldn't put a finger on why North was so weird. All she knew was that she missed Aero. Imato's heart pinched at the thought of the striped haired girl. Aero had been spending more and more time with team RWBY or rather Weiss and Yang, Today she had gone to Vale with Weiss to see a play.
Of course the other day she went to hang out with them. It seemed they had already built up their own little friendship. She sighed solemnly, because of that she was to spend more time with either her brother or with North. Imati had also been playing the moody disappearing act on her, which didn't nother her as much, he was her brother after all.
She slapped her cheeks and put on a determined face, "Let's find out why North hates me" she spoke to herself. Grabbing two copies of the same book, she made her way up stairs to greet North and suggest they start a book together.
.
North was getting impatient, she'd been sitting there for a while, no longer than three minutes, but it was long enough. The more she waited the more anxious she got, she wanted nothing more than to jump off the balcony, break her leg, and be sent to the infirmary.
The sound of footsteps on the staircase put her on alert. She was beginning to sweat in her palms, she was giving herself a mental checklist. 'Say hi, don't stare, be distant, we're just here to do homework, no talking it's distracting she might get-'.
"Hey" North mentally screamed in surprise, "Sorry I was downstairs looking for a book". Imato said as she rounded the table to sit across from North. "And what do you know?" she lifted the two books, "There were two copies: she smiled and handed one to North who was waiting a moment to reply. "So why don't we read these together?" she leaned forward a little on the table, "It's supposed to be a heartbreaking romance story, What do you say?"She waited for a response.
North was at a complete loss for words, 'Why is she being so chatty? Read a book together?', she was puzzled but she gave a reply after a moment. "Sure" was all she said. Imato wanted to strangle her now, "Great! We can start the first chapter after we finish our homework" she smiled, then another thought came to her, "Oh! What if we only read it during study sessions that include just us? It could be our thing" her tail waved behind her.
"Okay", another lame response, North then proceeded to open her study books. Imato wasn't ready to give up but before she spoke North put the bag of snacks on the table. "I got these.. I wasn't sure which one you'd prefer" she shrugged.
Imato was caught off guard at this presentation of snacks, it showed her that North had gone out of her way to go across campus just to get her snacks. She eyed the snacks then watched as North began her homework paying no attention to whether she'd take the snacks or not.
"Wow that's so thoughtful" she giggled, "These are actually one of my favorites". She took the bag and opened the dried Sardines. North hummed in acknowledgment but didn't meet her gaze.
Imato sighed but decided to leave it be for now. She opened her study book as well and began to read. 'This is gonna be a long day' Stark grumbled from where he sat on the table.
