After Damsel in Distress class, it was off to lunch. Greenly could just tell by the hexcited chatter from the students that summer vacation was getting closer and closer. Greenly could pracitcally taste summer now! Maybe she should text her friends and see if they were in the mood for some ice cream.

"Hey! Wait up!"

Greenly turned around and saw a familiar-looking girl made of wood. She was holding Greenly's gold pencil case. "You left this behind in class!"

"Thanks." Greenly said, taking her pencil case back. She stared at this unusual wooden girl. "You're...Cedar, right?"

"Yep, I'm Cedar Wood." Cedar said with a kind wave. "Pinocchio's daughter."

"I can tell." Greenly smiled. "It must be amazing! I mean, being made of wood and all." she said as she and Cedar walked together.

Cedar's smile fell a little. "You...don't think I'm weird? Being made from wood?"

"Of course not!" Greenly replied. "If anything, I envy you!"

"Wait a splinter!" Cedar stopped dead in her tracks. "You envy me?! But you're a princess! Fairytale royalty!"

"That doesn't mean anything. You have such a memorable story! It's got so much in it! And me, well, all I do is sleep on a pile of beds just to find a pea underneath." Greenly sighed. "I wish I was in your shoes, Cedar."

Cedar frowned. "Trust me, no you do not. Not only do I feel like an outsider because I'm not a real girl, I have to worry about termites and woodshop class, giving people splinters when I high five them and I have his whole truth spell put on me."

"Truth spell?"

"Yeah, see, when I was little, my dad cast a Truth spell on me. So, not only can I not tell a lie, I blurt out the truth against my will. So, if you have a secret, do NOT share it will me or someone will easily get it out of me!" she warned seriously.

"Yikes! That's awful. Not being able to lie. But isn't being able to lie part of your story?"

"Yeah, but the spell wears off once my story starts. Still though, it would be nice to lie just once and keep things to myself." Cedar said sadly.

Greenly felt the pain in the puppet's words. "Well...even without that spell, it wouldn't make much of a difference."

Confused, Cedar looked at the princess. "What do you mean?"

"Think about it; when you tell a lie, your nose grows. So, people can obviously tell when you're lying. And telling lies and stretching the truth are never good things to begin with anyway. What if there was a misunderstanding that everyone believed except you, who knows the truth without it being exaggerated. You have the power to clear up that misunderstanding. You see what I mean? You just got to make lemons into lemonade with this truth spell."

Cedar began to smile. "Or make peas into pea soup?" she joked. The girls shared a laugh. "But yeah, you make a good point."

"True. But I still think you're so lucky to be part of an amazing story like Pinocchio!"

"Yeah, but I wish I can be fairytale royalty like you!" said Cedar. "I mean, sure, I'm besties with Raven Queen, who's royalty. But it's still-"

"Waitwaitwaitwaitwait!" Greenly interrupted. "Raven Queen is your roommate?!" She thought the future Evil Queen would have no roommate at all! Anyone who would be roommates with Raven Queen has got to have the worst luck in the fairytale world! Just think; a perfect target for Raven Queen to practice all kinds of evil spells and curses or being tricked into taste-testing poisoned apples!

"Yeah, but don't worry! Raven and I have been friends for a long time. And she's the nicest Queen ever after!" Cedar said happily. "She's wicked cool and doesn't have a mean bone in her body No lie!"

Greenly felt like a giant pillow smacked her upside the head. Sure, Raven Queen was quiet in all of her classes. But nice?! "You mean, you're saying she isn't mean at all?"

Cedar nodded. "Yep!"

"I mean, are you sure? What if she's really evil but hides it really well?" Greenly asked suspiciously.

"Absolutely not!" Cedar huffed, quite offended by that question. "Raven's the greatest and the nicest person ever after! And I don't care how many people keep asking me about it! They're only gonna hear the truth and that's that!" she exclaimed with pride. "And to prove it, I'm going to sit with her at lunch and enjoy her company!"

"Wait, other people have been asking you about her?" asked Greenly. "Like who?"

"Just one person in particular, Miss Gold from Princessology. She asks me all kids of questions about Raven." Cedar replied.

"Like what?" asked Greenly, growing curious.

"What Raven likes to eat. Does she have any siblings. Her daily routine. How good is she at magic. Lots of random questions." Cedar answered. "I mean, I don't blame her for being paranoid, but come on! She asks me practically everything about Raven!" Cedar spotted Raven sitting by herself at lunch. "Anyway, I gotta go. See ya!"

"Later." Greenly waved goodbye. As she went to join her own friends for lunch. Greenly couldn't stop thinking about what Cedar said. Why would a teacher ask all those personal questions about Raven?

As her friends started to eat, Amber noticed the strange look on her roommate's face. "Hey, you okay, girl?"

"Huh?" Greenly blinked twice. "Uh, no, not really." She looked around to make sure no one was looking. "Guys," She leaned in close. "I think something's wrong here." She told her friends about Miss Gold asking about Raven Queen.

"Hmm, that is weird." Amber said. "Why would a teacher be that nosy about a student? It's none of their business!"

"If you ask me," Ian began. "Miss Gold has it out for Raven. And since Cedar is cused to tell the truth, Miss Gold's asking her everything there is to know about Raven. I mean, when you think about it, having Cedar assigned as Raven's roommate can't be a coincidence."

Greenly gasped. "You think Miss Gold is plotting something against Raven?!"

"It's a distinct possiblility." Ian said. "I've heard that all kinds of people want Raven and her mother dead in a coffin, but nobody has the guts to actually try to destroy the Evil Queen, let alone her children."

Greenly pounded her fist on the table. "Then we have to make sure nothing really bad happens to Raven!"

But her friends didn't look very motivated. "Come on, you guys!" said Greenly. "I know Raven's not our friend and she's destined to be an evil and dangerous villain, but that doesn't mean we should turn our backs on her! If something does happen to her and we didn't do anything to prevent it, that would make us just as guilty!"

Amber, Ian, and Bently looked at one another, still unsure. Greenly groaned and tossed her hands in the air. "Fine! Then I'll just handle this myself!" She picked up her lunch, dumped it in the trash, and huffed away. As she marched down the hallway to her dorm, she spotted two people she didn't want to see.

Duchess Swan and Faybelle Thorn were squaring off like two dragons about to breath fire. "You were blocking my side of the hallway!" Duchess snapped.

"Well, you were in the way of my wing space!" Faybelle snapped.

"STOP! STOP!" Greenly Pea got in between the two girls. "That's enough! Can't you guys just get along?!"

"No way!" they said together.

"Why not?" Greenly questioned.

Duchess crossed her arms. "Because Faybelle is obnoxious, rude, and always showg off! I don't want anything to do with her!"

"And Duchess is all of those things times ten!" Faybelle snipped. "She's a princess, but the only thing royal about her is acting a royal pain in my wings! She should be more like those dumb girly princesses like Apple!"

"Uh, excuse me?!" Duchess honked. "Don't you dare lump me with that goody two shoes Apple! Everyone thinks she's so perfect but I'm the only one who thinks she's not!"

Faybelle blinked. "Well, you're not the only one. I hate Apple with every inch of my body. Little miss perpetually perfect Apple White! Always kind, always thoughtful!" Faybelle wretched in disgust.

"I know, right?!" Duchess said in agreement.

"See? There it is!" Greenly said all of a sudden.

Duchess and Faybelle looked at each other. "What is?"

"You guys have something in common! You both hate Apple!" Greenly said. "Sure, you guys have your differences, but if you guys take the time to get to know each other, you'd realize you two are more alike than you are different, like me and Amber. When everyone sees us together, no one would assume we're friends in the least, when really we're really best friends!"

"Wait a spell." said Faybelle. "You're best friends with my cousin, Amber?"

"WHAT?!" Greenly took a step back. "Cousin?!"

Faybelle put her hands on her hips. "Yeah, didn't she tell you?" She shrugged. "I mean, her magic is nowhere near as powerful as mine, but we are related, unfortunately." She rolled her eyes. "I guess there's always one like her in every family."

"Ugh, tell me about it. I have this cousin who's the absolute worst!" Duchess said. As she and Faybelle walked off together in friendly chit-chat, Greenly stood there, dumbfounded.

"Hey,"

Greenly turned and saw Amber, Ian, and Bentley. Amber was stone faced as the boys looked at their fairy friend in shock.

"Amber, Faybelle's your cousin?!" Greenly blurted out. "Why didn't you say anything?!"

Amber's eyes flashed. "Because you saw what Faybelle is like! Do you really think being related to her is something to brag about?!" she said in anger. She took a deep breath to calm herself down. "I'm the niece of the Dark Fairy, the most evil and powerful of the fairies! And I'm the only fairy in the family who's magically weak! I can't do big things like her or Faybelle! Ever since we were kids, Faybelle has always been the popular one! Everyone in the family likes her best! She gets to be the villain of a major fairytale and I don't even know what story I'm going to be in! It's just...NOT FAIR!" She stomped her foot in anger.

Greenly waited patiently for her friend to calm down. "Greenly, I know you're not like Faybelle, but that's a good thing. I mean, you're the first actual friend I ever made. And you're really fun to hang around with. Plus, you're good at magic in your own way. So, you don't need to compare yourself to anyone, especially not Faybelle. Because you're awesome just the way you are. You're one of a kind."

Bentley smiled. "Everything she said times ten."

Ian smiled and nodded.

Feeling much better, Amber hugged her roommate. "Thanks, Greenly."

Greenly smiled and hugged her friend back. "Anytime. So, how long were you guys were you guys watching?"

"Whole time." Amber answered as she and Greenly pulled apart. "We wanted to tell you we changed our minds. We're going to help you with Raven."

"Really?! You are?!" Greenly was surprised to say the least. "What made you change you minds?"

"Well, you did." Amber answered. "You were right. If something's wrong and you don't do anything about it, you make yourself just as guilty. And if something does happen to Raven, I don't want that on my conscience."

"And I want to help Raven because I want to!" Bentley said. "Evil or not, a lady is still a lady. And ladies always come first in my book."

Ian just shrugged. "I just want to help cause I'm bored."

"Good enough." Greenly said. "Let's do this!"
