In the basement, the maintenance man pushes around a large, blue bin and comes to the bottom of the garbage shute. Gabe puts away the bin that he was pushing to the side and walks over to another large, blue bin filled with trash. Looking at the new bin, something caught his attention. Gabe saw a face covered up in an old towel. "Wow! A Buddi doll!" he whispered to himself. Just looking at it gave him ideas. He picked up the Buddi doll, carried it to a table and laid it down. From there, Gabe turned on an operational light brightening up the basement. About 5 minutes later, Gabe came back with a car battery and sat it on a trolley next to the Buddi doll. The man reached for the operational light and pulled it down to shine on the Buddi doll. Gabe paused and took a good look at it. "It's in pretty good shape. I should have this bad boy up and running in no time." He proceeded to connect the car battery wires with Buddi's wires protruding out of its chest. There was a little spark in the process. Gabe jumped a little and said, "There you are."

The Buddi doll powered on. Its eyes and the blue light from its chest came on and its head and arms moved around like it was a live baby. But it couldn't speak.

"The connectivity's down but not in bad shape. I'll make some good money on eBay once I get you all fixed up." Gabe turned around and grabbed a drill off the trolley then faced the Buddi doll again. "Time to open you up Buddi and see what we're dealing with." He pressed the button on the drill to make it whirl.
