Once Greenly was all better from her emotion sickness, she and her mother spent three days at the family castle. Greenly was able to enjoy shopping, chatting, and eating ice cream with her mother. But most importantly, Greenly was able to catch up on all her thronework.

It was finally time for Greenly to return to Ever After High. But when she did, she got a huge surprise when she saw posters of Apple White and Maddie Hatter posted on almost every wall in school. "What the hex?!"

"Greenly! Welcome back!" Apple greeted. "I'm so glad you're feeling better!"

"Apple, what's going on around here?" asked Greenly. "What's with all these posters?"

"Well, it's time for the royal student council elections. And I usually win since I've had no competitors. But some strange reason, Maddie is campaigning against me!"

Greenly blinked twice. "Maddie?! Why would she run against you?"

Apple shrugged. "I don't know. But nonetheless, I intend to win!" she said with a look of determination before her sweet smile returned. "Anywho, I better get my mini apple pies ready to hand out! Bye!" And the princess waved goodbye and dashed off.

"Hats over crowns! Vote for Maddie!" said Raven's voice. Greenly looked down the hall and spotted Raven and Maddie handing out pins with Maddie's face on them. It just didn't make sense. Why would someone as mad as Maddie run for student council president?

Greenly decided to get to the bottom of this. She walked up to Maddie. "Hey, Mads."

Maddie gasped and dropped her basket of pins. "Greenly!" She gave Greenly a big bear hug. "Thank tea and crumpets you're okay!" She let go of Greenly and reached into her hat. "I made you a little something!" She pulled out a huge purple top hat with a long blue ribbon band and the words, VOTE FOR MADDIE, embroidered on the hat in big white letters. Maddie promptly placed the hat on Greenly head. "Ta-daaaaa!" Maddie sang.

"Uh, thanks?" was all Greenly could say.

"We were all worried so about you!" said Raven, who was just as happy to see Greenly as Maddie was. "What was wrong with you?"

"Uh..." Greenly wasn't sure about telling Raven that she was the cause of her emotion sickness. So, she decided to tell her half of the truth. "Well, it's kind of hard to explain, Rav. But I got sick because of this...disease that runs in my family."

"A family disease?!" Raven's eyes grew wide. "Are you going to be okay?!"

Greenly nodded without dropping her oversized hat. "Yeah, I'll be fine as long as I take the right steps." She smiled. "I'm just glad that you're doing okay. You are doing okay, right?"

Raven raised an eyebrow. "Me? I'm perfectly fine. You're the one who's been sick as a dog."

A dark shadow fell over Raven, followed by a growl. Raven turned and saw the General Villainy teacher, Mr. Badwolf, looming over her.

"What was that?" the teacher asked Raven, glaring at her.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Badwolf." Raven said immediately. "I didn't mean anything."

Mr. Badwolf shook his head. "Apologizing to a teacher? Just like that? I'm very disappointed in you, Raven Queen. I'll see you in my office after class." And the callous teacher walked away as Raven frowned.

"Don't worry about him, Raven!" said Maddie.

"Yeah, he's just trying to get to you." Greenly added. "Whatever he tells you, just ignore him. In one ear and out the other. Easy-peasy."

"Thanks, you guys. I don't know what I'd do without you." Raven tucked a lock of purple hair behind her ear.

"I'll tell you what you can do." said the snide voice of Duchess Swan as she swaggered up to the girls with her trademark smug look. "You can start acting like a real royal instead of hanging out with the riff raff." She thumbed over to Maddie. "And that goes for you too, Princess Plain Jane." Duchess said, pointing at Greenly.

"What is wrong with you, Duchess?" Raven asked, getting annoyed.

Duchess gave an arrogant grin. "Nothing's wrong with me. Unlike you, little miss-OWW!" Duchess jumped a foot in the air when a sharp pain in her rear end. She spun around and saw Greenly smiling at her, holding one of Maddie's pins. Duchess noticed the needle of the pin was sticking out.

"Oh, I'm so sorry." Greenly said with feigned innocence. "Did this pin accidentally puncture your tail feathers?"

Duchess was so enraged, white feathers started to fall off her body. "YOU...ROYAL REJECT!" Embarrassed, the swan princess stomped away in anger.

Greenly took a bow. "Thank you!"

Raven and Maddie clapped their hands, applauding Greenly's victory. Greenly smiled as she proudly adjusted her hat. "So, Maddie, you got some more pins for me to hand out?"

"Of course!" Maddie pulled out a basket of pins from her hat and gave it to Greenly.

Greenly took the basket and began handing out pins to students. "Vote for Maddie! Don't be sad! Let's get mad!" she announced. The students were surprised to see Greenly, a royal, support Maddie. Sure, Raven was royalty, but she was labeled as evil royalty. So, they weren't surprised that Raven would be supporting Maddie. But why Greenly? Was this some kind of trick?

"Don't be shy! Let the madness fly! Let's go mad and vote for Maddie!" Greenly cheered as she fist-pumped the air and offered pins.

Despite the odd circumstances, students actually started taking pins!

"Wow! She's a natural!" said Maddie.

"Yeah! I'll say!" Raven agreed.

"Hey, Raven!"

The girls saw Amber, Ian, Bentley arrived along with three other students. One was a brown-eyed girl with soft pink hair tied into two corkscrew pigtails. She wore a blue cape shaped like insect wings, a lilac dress with a flower belt and a small, blue spider shaped bonnet. The second one was a rather sloppy looking boy wearing a stained white t-shirt with a red windmill on it and baggy blue jeans, and the last one was a teen-sized gingerbreadman! He wore a purple tank top, orange shorts, white socks and purple sneakers. He had dark cookie skin, frosting white hair and white icing eyebrows.

The six students were carrying trays holding ups of what looked like frozen yogurt.

"Hey, guys!" Greenly said, happy to see the rest of the Fairytale Four. "Who are these three?"

"These are our roomies." said Amber. "Greenly, this is my roomie, Maisie Muffet."

Maisie waved. "Pleased to meet you!" she said in a squeaky voice.

"My roomie, Dave Quixote." Bentley introduced.

Dave waved. "Sup."

"And my roomie, Geoff Gingerbreadman." said Ian.

Geoff winked at Greenly. "Hey." he said with a cheesy grin.

"We made some of my famous frozen yo-curd to hand out for Maddie's campaign!" said Maisie.

Greenly tilted her head. "Yo-curd?"

Maisie smiled with pride. "It's my own invention! People expect me to eat curds and whey. But to be honest with you, it's disgusting!" She stuck out her tongue. "So, I made yo-curd. It's like curds and whey. But a hundred times better!" She handed Greenly a cup. "Try some! It's cherry!"

Greenly tasted a spoonful and it really was delicious! "Wow! This is really good!"

"They'll be a big hit and help Maddie win for sure!" said Geoff.

"Yay! I have a staff!" Maddie pulled out more VOTE FOR MADDIE hats and handed them to new staff.

"Sweet!" Amber gladly put on her hat.

As Greenly handed out more pins, a certain princess approached her. It was Briar Beauty, and she did not look happy. She crossed her arms and looked at Greenly with bitterness in her eyes. "Look, Greenly, I don't know why you're helping Maddie. But you've got some nerve stabbing Apple in the back like this after all she's done for you!"

"What do you mean by that?" Greenly retorted. "Apple hasn't done anything for me!"

Briar put her hands on her hips. "Oh, yes, she has! Apple treats you well just like everyone else she comes across. And this is what you do to her?! If you keep this up, you can kiss your spot in the royal ranks goodbye! Besides, why would Maddie even run against Apple! She has to be up to something! So, if I were you, Greenly, I'd take off that hat and forget this whole thing." Briar smiled and offered her hand to Greenly. "It's not too late to make this right. You can help Apple win and once she does, we're going to throw the most epic party yet, courtesy of me, of course."

Even though Greenly had no idea as to why Maddie would run against Apple, Briar had no idea what Greenly has been through. And after all Greenly's pain, suffering and learning the true meaning of her story, kissing up to the cool kids was the last thing on her mind. "Sorry, Briar, but Maddie is my friend. And whatever her reason is to run against Apple, I just know that her heart is in the right place. And besides, Maddie's been through a lot and despite losing her home, she still keeps her spirits up and keeps moving forward. So, Maddie is somebody worth helping. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have pins and yo-curd to hand out." And she briskly walked away.

Briar frowned.

I have to admit, it really felt good standing up to Briar. As for the election, you wouldn't believe how it turned out! The students that were rooting for Apple and Maddie were at each others' throats! Luckily, Maddie had a tea-riffic idea. That she and Apple become co-presidents! So, everything really did work out in the end! I was so proud of Maddie. With her out-of-the-box thinking and Apple's by-the-book thinking, those two will definitely make a great team.

Sure, I completely ruined by reputation with the royals for supporting Maddie. But it didn't matter. Now that I knew what my story was really about, I realized that I didn't have to be a royal suck up to be a princess. I'll always be a princess, a genuine princess, a princess who helps people who deserve it, like Maddie. My friends and I are really lucky to know someone like Maddie Hatter.

And so, with Legacy Day approaching, we were going to be assigned our animal companions in the Enchanted Forest. Not surprisingly, though, things took a rather interesting turn.
