AN:
Hello, I know that it's been a really looong time since I have updated GSQ. I do apologize for that but I promised myself that I will finish this long fanfic. Please bear with me as it might take awhile. I already half forgotten about this and how I wanted the story to progress. I'm slowly getting it back on track.
As I reviewed my past additions to this fic, I started editing some of its contents. (primarily spelling and misuse of certain words and scenarios) I hope you like it. I will also insert image links for imagination purposes along the way. Since FF doesn't support placing images mid chapters.
Please use this link to view image references since FF doesn't allow mid chapter images. Please also be reminded that all the photos in the pinterest link are NOT mine. All the credits goes to their original owners because they made really amazing photos that I can use for inspiration.
The board contains images of how I imagine Branwen's looks, Her Clothes etc. I will be continuously updating this together with the fic.

Disclaimer: I do not own Kyou Kara Maou and any of its characters. This story is made solely because I can't get enough of Conrart and Yuuri.
Yuuri's POV
I woke up early despite not having the amount of sleep I usually have.
I did all my morning regimen and walked towards the winding corridors to the dining hall. It was surprisingly easy to remember the way. I thought that because of the large space I would have a hard time going around the palace. When I arrived at the door, the soldiers then announced my entry. I braced myself to see Lord Von Beilafield. But found not a shadow of him or whatsoever. My gaze turned to Gunter who looks like he has not gotten any ounce of sleep. I can tell from the circles below his eyes. Conrart's and Lord Von Voltaire's chairs are also empty. Lady Cecilia, seems to be very excited.
"Ohh your majesty! I'm so sorry, please hang me now! I was not able to come up with a way to stop your duel!" Said the crying Gunter.
"Ma, ma, kinishi nai de Gunter! Everything will be alright. Don't worry!" I tried to calm him down but it seems that I only made things worse. (Sweat drop)
"Ohh your majesty!" My time was spent trying to calm him down until the time of the duel. Geez. He's not helping..
The designated time arrived. It was exactly noon. Everyone gathered in the courtyard including the soldiers. The guys including Lord Von Voltaire stand at the sides pillaging Lady Cecilia who has a big chair that was sure to have only been brought out for her.
"Gambate Heika! You too Wolf!" She cheered.
"Are we going to start now or what?" Asked impatiently by the opposing side.
"No need to rush! We have all afternoon!"
Sigh..here goes nothing. But Conrart is still nowhere to be found. A moment later, we heard a horse coming. It was in a hurry.
"Your majesty! Forgive me for not being punctual. I got what you asked!" The man said while dismounting the horse. And immediately handed me the object. It was a sword. A thin sword that fits me. I asked him to find me a sword that resembles a should be about the same weight but it's still not as flexible as a sabre.
"Hm! It's perfect! Thank you! Conrart! But I won't be using that. I already thought of a way to duel. But let me borrow it for a bit." I said reassuringly.
Then he called for my attention again."Wait Heika, I have something to give you!" I turned to him as he reached for his pocket and pulled out an object covered in cloth. He showed me a beautiful blue necklace. It was as if it was mirroring the water of the pond near us and the azure sky. "It's beautiful Conrart! What is it for?"
"A dear friend gave it to me as a good luck charm. Now I'm hoping it will give you good luck and protection as it has given me. May I?" Asking if he could put it on my neck. His actions were watched by everyone in the courtyard. It made me feel uncomfortable yet secure.
"Are you sure you are giving this important item to me?" unsure if i should take it.
"Yes, Your Majesty. There is nothing in this world more important than your safety." He turned my back against him and placed the object on my neck.
"Thank you Conrart." I looked at him as he smiled at me. Then a voice cut us off, reminding both of us that there is a matter to settle.
"ehhm! Are we going to duel or are you guys gonna waste my precious time by staring at each other?" said Lord Von Beilafield while tapping his foot in annoyance cause of the obvious delay.
"If you're in a rush to taste defeat, then let us begin. But We won't be needing a sword. We'll settle this in a hand to hand combat."
With the sword that Conrart got me, I started drawing a circle on the ground,
"What kind of symbol is that, are you trying to bewitch everyone here so that you can earn your victory?" I can't believe that a simple circle will startle a proud lord. I can't help but chuckle to myself.
"hahaha! It's only a mere circle, little lord. This will serve as our ring. Whomever's clothing or any part of the body aside from the feet loses." I explained while taking off my jacket.
The expectators were seeing it as absurdity and amusement at the same time.
"This is madness! Why do I have to battle with your world's ridiculous game?"
"Well, little Lord, have you forgotten you were the one that said that any method is fine and that I should be the one to decide which? Plus not of this world's way? Isn't hand to hand combat taught here?" I looked at the expectant audience and they all agreed to what I said.
In no less than a moment, a furious lord agreed to the rules I have set. Both of us entered the circle I made and went to position. I learned self defense as a child. I remembered my mom saying that it would be useful especially since I'm a girl. Everyone will look down on me just because I'm a girl so I have to take a stand, she says. I never knew this could be useful.
I looked at the people at the side once more. I saw a very worried Conrart and Guinter; I smiled at both in hopes of calming them down and focused on my target. A referee was set for the match and said "Three, Two, One Start!"But none of us moved. We stared at each other waiting for someone to make the first move. This seemed to be the longest minute in my life. Just before a leaf fell to the ground I decided to make my move. I gave him a roundhouse kick towards his side. He blocked it easily, I decided to go offensive; I can see his face going blank as if wondering where and how a girl like me can fight him on equal grounds. I took that opportunity to go under him and placed an elbow to his gut. He cowered in pain and I took that opportunity to side kick his ankle to set him off balance.
I won! I had him touch the ground! It felt refreshing and Guinter ran towards me to say that it was an amazing victory without bloodshed.
"You lose. I don't ever wanna hear anything about this."I said looking angrily at him.
I thought we're done but he started saying "NO! I refuse to accept defeat! If YOU want to be Queen of this land then you must fight with the rules of this land!" He rushed towards me and unsheathed his sword just as the same time Conrart tossed me the sword I asked him to get the other night. "Catch Your Majesty!"
Guinter was panicky! "NO! WOLFRAM STOP IT! Her Majesty has already won the match!" Just as when Guinter was about to intervene, Conrart stopped him.
"Why do you stop me Conrart? Are you not worried about Her Majesty's safety?!"
"Have a little faith in Her Majesty Guinter, you make her sad by your actions. She's a Fencer."
If not for Conrart's accuracy, I would not be able to block his attacks. He continued to strike me in a rhythm as I continued to block.
I just remembered what my fencing teacher said to me back then: "You have to adjust to the rhythm of your opponent. You have to remain calm at all costs and not forget to read into your opponent's attacks and know how to counter it."
I jumped back away from the furious Lord. I gripped my sword in one hand and took my stance with pride.
"You're pretty good but your attack has a pattern, your footing is off, that's why you can never strike me down. Have you not learned the basics of the sword? Yours is crying at the way you handle it."
I can see our audience smile in awe and shock. As he charged towards me again, I positioned my sword to disable his, disrupt his footing and strike as hard as I could to send his sword flying away from his hand.
"That's it, We're done! Give me a break would you?! If you want to fight me again let's do it some other time! I'm tired" I wailed as I sat on the ground. I'm really tired. I haven't got any good sleep. My body's failing me.
As I turned my back at him, I felt heat rising from my back. "I refuse to lose from a mere human girl like YOU!" A fire is forming at his hand.
WHAT THE HECK?! NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS! OHH NO!
"Your Majesty DOCK!" Conrart said in panic!
"Wolfram! stop it! Your Majesty has yet to make a contract with the elements!" Guinter was about to step in only to be stopped by Gwendal. "Why do you stop me now?! This fight is just unfair!"
"If she truly has the soul of this world's demon queen, then she should not have any trouble arousing the power hidden within her. Because her soul belongs here. Why don't we see it now once and for all. I also want to see what she really is capable of. It's not just about her skills with hand to hand combat nor her skills with her sword."
I blocked the fireballs he sent me with the only weapon I have. It was working well until he summoned a big lion made of fire.
"YOUR MAJESTY AVOID IT!" Conrart shouted at the top of his lungs and I instinctively docked. The relief I felt suddenly turned to horror when I heard a woman scream! I turned toward the scream and saw the girl just as she fell down unconscious and guards ran towards her asking if she was fine. I snapped at the Lord Beilafied.
"Is this what you call a duel?"
"Involving an innocent girl…. Is this it?" I shouted at the top of my lungs letting anger get the best of me. I heard a line that seemed to snap in my head and my mind went blank.
Normal POV
The clear sky quickly became cloudy, but the dark clouds only extended over the courtyard. A downpour that you couldn't even breathe in clapped down on the pavement. With his eyes barely open, there was a reflection of Yuuri_ at the same time not the likeness of the Queen she had been with the past few days. Cat-like eyes burning with fury as if piercing Wolfram to his soul ; Short jet black hair that frames the mysterious lady's small face. A fierce looking woman emerged at the center of the courtyard.
"...Your Majesty?" Gunter's voice was trembling as he called out, but she wasn't turning around. Even her voice, not even mentioning the tone, sounded like a different person.
"Heika?"(Not her?) Conrart's thoughts
"Without admitting defeat, You rampage and break the royal rules. You involve a harmless girl. Do you crave victory that much? Is that what you call a duel?" Yurri's eyes glimmered as a lighting struck.
"Wh, what are you saying like some sort of actor?" (Where am I?Who are you? Listening yet not seeing this place is warm. It's as if it's cradling me to sleep.)
"Is this what you call a real duel?! shedding the blood of others just so that you can attain victory? If that's the case, I can't let people like you do whatever you want! It's not my intention to shed blood, but I have no choice, I will cut you down!" Yuuri's voice echoed in the courtyard.
Wolfram was flabbergasted at what he was seeing. Only muttering "What?"
Though she said "cut", Yuuri's weapon was not a sword.
"Judgment!" Another thunderous roar escaped Yuuri's lips. It appeared at the tip of her fingers like the fire magic that Wolfram used. It was two serpents that had fangs and were the same blue as the pouring rain. It is almost a magnificent sight if not for the words, justice at the top of the serpents
"What is this, how, that isn't a very Queen-like figure." Conrart chuckled to himself
"More importantly than that, when did Her Majesty make an oath with the element of water? Besides, it's virtually impossible to manipulate particles without saying the commands. How is Her Majesty doing that even though no one taught her..." Gunter was baffled at this.
As both people in Yuuri's group expressed their own thoughts, Gwendal muttered so lowly that neither of them would be able to hear it. "I see, so it seems his soul is authentic."
"Justice" was faintly written on the translucent, glittering side of the serpents. It was really out of place. Without error it coiled around its Mazoku quarry. Wolfram let out a scream that was unlike himself, as he resisted and tried to shake it off. Every time he created flames at his fingertips, the downpour would squelch them. This was evidence that a water user had an advantage over a fire user. Victory or defeat of an embodied element was decided by the owner's status and ability.
"Get this thing off me! How the hell could you do this, so suddenly... You, who are you really?!" Wolfram scrutinized
"Who am I? Did you forget my other face? You, who selfishly snatched away an innocent life, I absolutely won't allow it!" It was completely like a historical play. Yuuri eyed Wolfram through her ca-like eyes.
"Guh..." Two water serpents tightened around Wolfram, lifting him to the mid-air trying to punish him when a soldier called out joyfully.
"He~y! She's recovered consciousness, she's not in any danger." Said a soldier
The girl was in the man's arms, with her eyes open as she recovered. She let out a small groan with a hand to her face.
"...I...why..."
Yuuri and Wolfram saw that. Both of them were relieved that the girl was okay but Wolfram wasn't about to make an excuse to avoid the mad "foreigner". If she was going to kill him, then kill him. For a brat who grew up as a royal and a full blood, being conquered was humiliating especially if it's by a half blooded mazoku and he would rather die like a military man than kneel and beg for his life.
However, the water serpents that were wrapping around his neck evaporated and vanished rapidly. Out of strength, he sat down. Even Yuuri's radiant eyes weren't that of a normal person as she glared, and she pointed at Wolfram, declaring,
"The one who is named Wolfram Von Beilafield, You shall repent for yours sins and change your ways..God is forgiving"
"M... Mercy?"
Calling herself the lord, she gave a loud splash as she hit the muddy ground and fell unconscious. All the spectators had a new found respect for their new Queen.
