After Maka had her appointment, her thoughts were running around. How was she suppose to learn things about Adora? What if she doesn't learn anything by tomorrow? Of course, Maka wanted to be better, she knew that Adora was in here for Alcohol abuse-drinking too much and Maka knew that could be one thing. She shook her head as she knew that she couldn't use that, everyone knew that she was here because of her drinking. That was not new. She needed to learn something new. Maka took a deep breath as she went go look for Adora, she had to be outside, right?
Adora was sitting under the tree she spotted Maka from earlier that day before they had their one on one meetings with the doctor. She reflected back on what Medusa was telling her. She won't get better in a week, she would get better over time. Though, who was she really when she wasn't trying to drown herself with Alcohol? Who was she without being drunk? Adora looked up at the sky as tried to figure herself out. She wanted to know more about who she was as a person while she was here. Maybe she could ask Maka to help her understand herself better.
Just then Maka spotted Adora. "Adora!" Maka smiles slightly as she walks over to the girl. "Hey."
"Hey Maka," Adora said as she looked at the blonde. "What can I do for you?"
"How am I suppose to ask her stuff - without letting it know that it was an assignment by Dr. Medusa?" Maka thought as she sat next to Adora.
"I...I just want to talk to you. You seem nice." Maka responded as she looked at Adora.
"Well, sure, we can talk."
"Thanks."
"Is there anything you want to talk about?"
"Books!"
"Books? What the hell is wrong with me?!" Maka thought as she looked at Adora.
"We can, but I didn't really like reading that much."
"Well, what did you like to read?"
"I suppose I read the first book to the Harry Potter series."
"Mental note: she read Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone." Maka thought as she nodded her head.
"It gets better after the first book. My dad brought my whole series here, if you want to reread the book." Maka smiles.
A real smile was plastered on her face. There was nothing fake about her smile. To Adora it was nice to see such a smile on Maka's face. As the two of them got to talking. Maka found out that she had a brother, Black Star. Maka could tell the way that she talked about Black Star that this was something that was going to make her want to get better.
"She talks about her brother a lot." Maka noted as this was something else she looked at Adora and then wondered what else she would figure out about what was inside Adora's head.
The next day came and it was time for Maka to report to Dr. Medusa on what she found out about Adora. This felt wrong, but it was something that needed to be done. Dr. Medusa opened the door when she knew that Maka was outside.
"Maka, hello." She smiled.
"Hello Dr. Medusa." Maka walked into the office with her little notebook.
"Why don't we start, that way you can go ahead and meet up everyone up for lunch."
"Okay."
"So what did you learn about Adora."
"She read Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, but not any other book"
"So you talked about books, I see. Did you tell her stuff about you as well?"
"Yes. I have all the books here and I told her if she ever wanted to read any she can."
"That's nice of you to share your books with your new friend"
"She has a brother. He's a year older than me"
"Oh really?"
"Yeah. She said his name is Black Star."
"Well, that's good that she opened up to you about family"
It went on for a while with Dr. Medusa. The meeting ran longer than it usually. Maka was talkative today and it was good sign that she was doing better. No one could be dismissed and headed home until Medusa said so. They needed Doctor clearance. Maka was making better steps today, and it was time to update Spirit on it. Once in a while, Medusa would update the family when the patient hit a good milestone in their progress.
Medusa dialed Spirits cell phone number. Waiting...waiting.
"Spirt Albarn.." Spirit said into his phone.
"Ah, Mr. Albarn, it's Dr. Medusa." Medusa said.
"Oh. Hello." He spoke into the phone. "She hit anoter milestone?"
"She did. Maka is doing better. I had her learn about another fellow patient, trying to get her to make new friends. She came through and told me everything she learned about this girl. Unfortunately, I can not tell you her name."
"It's fine. I'm just happy that she was able to make a new friend"
"Well, I was just want you to know, that this weekend is Family day. You are welcome to come and bring something for Maka."
"I'll make sure to come this weekend."
"I'm sure Maka will love to see you"
"I'll be there, I have a class to teach now."
"Goodbye Mr. Albarn"
Medusa hung up the phone. The next call she made was to Adora Stein's adoptive parents. She dialed the house number. She knew that it was going to be Marie answering. Medusa always talked to Marie whenever it came to Adora's milestones.
"Stein residence, Marie speaking" Marie said into the phone.
"Hello, Mrs. Stein? This is Dr. Medusa."
"Oh! Hello Dr. Medusa. How are you?"
"I am well. I'm calling to let you know that Adora has reached her second milestone while with us."
"That's great news!"
"It is, and I was wondering if you and Mr. Stein would be willing to come up for family day this weekend."
"Is it alright if we bring our son? Adora's younger brother?"
"That is alright with me. I'll let the office know that there will be three passes this time. You know, she made a friend here with someone in her group."
"I'm so happy for her."
"You know, I can't be revealing anything, but maybe she will tell you about her."
"I hope so. It would be nice to meet the one girl who was able to get Adora to talk."
"Well, I do have to go, there are more people to call and tell them about their children."
"Thank you for calling, Dr. Medusa. See you this weekend."
"Good bye Mrs. Stein"
Family day. The day that is going to either bring Adora and Maka closer together as friends or they would go back to square one. There is no telling what is going to happen during Family Day.
