"Our victims were all shot with the same .40 caliber pistol," Maura said, handing the ballistics report to Korsak, who had just joined the others in her office.
"Stacey's wrists have marks that are from being tied tightly with some kind of thick cloth. She was the only one bound."
"So Jeff was in on it?" Jane suggested.
"Or he was taken by surprise. Maybe he arrived home after the killer?" Frost said.
"I don't want to guess, but the latter is more likely," Maura answered. "How'd it go with Stacey's sister?"
Jane sighed, feeling completely confused by Maura's blatantly ignoring her.
"You were definitely right about Abigail. Stacey's sister knew Jeff wasn't her father," Korsak said. "But she doesn't think Stacey has been in touch with him. I got his last known information from her, though."
"Wait," Jane interrupted. "Jeff isn't Stacey's baby daddy?"
"Abigail does not share Jeff Cornell's DNA," Maura confirmed.
"Could Abigail's biological father be our killer?" Frost asked.
"He's definitely our number one suspect at the moment," Korsak explained.
"He's our only suspect," Jane grumbled, her mood shifting drastically at the way Maura was acting toward her.
"The guys at Jeff's garage did say they saw him having a heated argument with some guy that none of them knew just a few days ago," Frost said.
"Well, let's find out if Abigail's father was the guy they saw and let's bring him in for questioning," Korsak replied.
Jane followed them out of the morgue and headed to the cafe for more coffee. She was going to need it.
"Janie, have you seen Maura?" Angela Rizzoli asked immediately upon seeing her.
"I just left her office, Ma."
"Is she alright? I never heard her come home last night and then her car was still there when I left for work this morning and I haven't seen her all day."
"She's fine. She just wasn't feeling well this morning," Jane explained, exasperated.
"Poor thing. I should check on her!"
"I told you she's fine, Ma."
"Are you girls fighting again?"
"I don't think so," Jane sighed.
"How do you not know? Jane, what did you do?"
Angela put a hand on Jane's shoulder.
"I didn't DO anything to her!"
All eyes in the cafe turned to Jane. Angela lowered her voice to a harsh whisper.
"Whatever you did, fix it now. You're making a fool of yourself."

Maura headed for the elevator to find Jane, feeling remorse over the icy way she'd treated her friend. She saw Jane at the cafe counter, talking with Angela. She hurried over, eager to make amends. Angela widened her eyes, obviously happy to see her.
"Maura's moods are just impossible to deal with lately," Jane was saying.
Maura was in shock as she stood behind her best friend. Here she was coming to apologize and Jane was talking about how she wanted nothing to do with her.
"Then don't," Maura snapped.
She turned on her heels and walked quickly back toward the elevator. Jane ran after her.
"Maur, wait," she called out.
Maura got onto the elevator without turning around and Jane blocked the doors from closing with her foot. Maura crossed her arms over her chest and stared at the elevator buttons.
"I didn't mean it. I'm sorry," Jane pleaded with her.
"You mean you didn't mean for me to hear it. I got it, Jane. I'll stay away."
Jane could tell that Maura was pissed. She couldn't believe this was happening. There was nothing she hated more than fights with Maura and she seemed to be in them more and more lately. She stepped back and let the doors close, wondering what in the world it was that made them act so crazy around each other. Her phone rang, shaking her from her thoughts. Korsak.
"Hey Jane, we've got Abigail's father. Turns out he purchased a .40 caliber Smith & Wesson a week ago and Jeff's co-workers ID'ed him as the guy starting trouble at the auto shop. We're bringing him in now."
"Fantastic. Can I have him first?" Jane asked, desperate for a distraction.
"Sure, Jane," Korsak laughed.
She hung up the phone and headed to her desk to busy herself with paperwork while waiting for her suspect to show up.

Maura sat at her desk, frustrated and sad. She didn't want to fight with Jane, but she couldn't understand why her friend would say she wanted nothing to do with her. She thought back to the last few weeks. There was a possibility her moods had been a little crazy lately, but nothing her friends shouldn't be able handle. Friends were supposed to be there for each other no matter what. Exhausted, she put her head in her hands, feeling the tracks on her face from the tears she hadn't even realized were falling. She decided that maybe she was being overly emotional, but she didn't know why. There was no rational explanation for...
A sudden thought struck Maura. She jolted straight up in her office chair.
"Oh my God," she whispered aloud.
