AN: Hello there everyone! This is Mr. Raleigh D giving you all a new chapter for the story, Ben 10: A True Hero. I hope many of you all enjoy this chapter as much as I had writing it! However, just to let everyone know, the Ben 10,000 that I am using is from Ultimate Alien, NOT from Omniverse or the Reboot-since those two I do not like or care for, but if you do, that's great. It's just that personally, I don't like it. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this fic as much as I had writing it! Please always leave reviews, they are always appreciated! Thank you!

CHAPTER 2: BILLY

He was hard at work at the construction site that busy, hot day. With one swing with a hammer, he destroyed the remaining wall in the way. His supervisor, a stubby, plump middle-aged man with a full beard approached him with a hearty smile on his face. Ben stood in attention to him. "Hard at work, are ya Tennyson boy?"

"That I am, sir, and just in time for lunch too," Ben said.

"Got somethin' for ya," his supervisor gave him his check for the week, $2,100 to be exact. Ben took the check and let out a light chuckle, smiling after a long day of work.

"That's what we're talking about! Thanks, man!" Ben said.

000

Ben walked down the street after receiving his check at his job. Instead of his casual wear, he sported an outfit that he used to wear when he was just a teen: a light, green jacket with a vertical black stripe on the right with the number 10 on the side over a black tee, blue jeans, and sneakers. He had his hair combed back and had a sunny smile on his face. His hands were in his pockets, living carefree.

He spotted a dazzling, digital billboard yonder facing a tall building in the distance. There he saw the Seven posing like anime characters while advertising Coca-Cola. He shook his head at this as he kept walking.

In the weeks since his stay in this strange universe, aside from the ego-centric superheroes and the over abundance of product placements, so far nothing happened while on his watch. He was pretty much confused as to why Paradox would want him in this universe? His parents did not die? Vilgax did not slaughter everyone he ever loved, Kai Greene is still a thing and still got on his nerves, even after a messy divorce. It was just him, his family and that was it. He was pretty much content.

Not to mention the time where the owners of the warehouse basically found him asleep in the office and threatened to call the cops. Ben was civil enough to offer to buy it off. He had enough money saved up for him to do so. So, he bought the place.

Just immediately after, he started to install a few security devices around the place; renovation was a plus to this man. He still had access to Azmuth to whom, well at first he thought it was folly to bring in Level 20 tech to this universe. Ben reassured him that barely anyone visits this warehouse.

"You want me to bring my bots and drones to duplicate your home in your home universe to this one? Do you have any idea what consequence that would bring? The humans in this universe were bearable enough! The humans in that universe you harbor? They are a different kind of beast! They are level 2 or 3 at best! 1.4 at worst!"

"So were we before I got my first Omnitrix, Azmuth. All I need are the essentials, a mini particle accelerator, an ID Mask, a DNA Repair Gun, a Null Void Projector, and a Mark X Laser Lance Plas. 5. Everything I can do on my own," he said.

"What are you trying to do? Conquer the world?" Azmuth argued.

"Nope, just my warehouse," Ben smirked as he saw Azmuth sighed painfully as he tried hard not to pinch his face out of his own skull, much to Ben's amusement.

After that, Azmuth, even though he really hated doing it, sent in the essentials. Though warned him not to let anyone know or see these devices.

He used Clockwork to reinvigorate the warehouse to its prime before time started eating it at the seams; Gray Matter to construct massive computer systems, install advanced security tech around the home to make it...well more like home.

After a few weeks of redecorating, the warehouse was converted more into Ben's home.

Inside the office area we see a sitting room with a couch, two armchairs in front of a TV and a wardrobe. There is also a small kitchen area with a stove, refrigerator, sink and some cupboards. The TV gets only the local basic channels via an over the air antenna. Also there's a Wi-Fi router and modem. There was a bathroom with a shower, toilet and small sink-all high tech though.

Ben popped squat at a comfy green couch he bought from the Furniture lot not too far down the road as he enjoyed his stories. As he laid his remote to the table, he heard a voice.

"Nice place, mate."

Ben immediately turned, his mind on fire as his hand was on the dial of his Ultimatrix, programming a tiger humanoid. In front of him was a middle-aged, bearded man who wore all black and wore a permanent smug on his face.

Ben quickly got up and asked, "I hope you know that it's rude to break into a person's house without an invitation, pal."

"You left the back door open," he jerked his thumb to the left towards the back where the back door was literally opened. "FYI, if you gonna make a home, make sure all the locks are installed."

"Okay well...note taken," Ben said, "Who are you and what are you doing here?"

"Just investigating a man who can transform into Pokémon-monsters," he lit a cigarettes and too a puff, "The news was blasting about a man doing heroic deeds. An unknown who became a superstar overnight."

"Right?" Ben said.

"There was an incident in which A-Train was somehow clobbered by some hard object, ran on a wet banana pill like a cartoon character and crashed at a brick wall, thus the couple was moved slightly away from the curb. You see, no man alive is faster than A-Train. Yet… another man was able to move faster than him and stop that woman's death." the man said

"You the fuzz?" Ben asked.

"No, and you're not under arrest. Like you I also have a few secrets too I would rather keep quiet." The man said

"Then what's this about?" Johnny said

"Just a little introduction to this universe, Ben 10,000," the man asked

Johnny paused for a second before saying, "How did you...how much…"

"Enough. Just know your secret's safe with me. The fact that you are from another universe and the source of your powers," said the man pointing to Ben's Ultimatrix.

"It wasn't hard to put the pieces together. Every creature shares one characteristic, and it is that they all share that symbol. What gets me is that you are working at a normal 9 to 5, no superhero costume, no mask, no nothing, and you are living at a damn warehouse. Why do you keep yourself hidden? You could be very famous and rich… and yet you just do the job for free." the man said.

"If you want to be a superhero because you want to be famous, then really, you're not really a hero now aren't you?" Ben said, "I'm not gonna pretend that I'm not famous or anything, sometimes I will let that get to my head but I will never let it distract me from saving lives. In the end, it's just tabloids. Those things will vanish when the next scandal comes around."

"You have all that power and yet…"

"To quote a wise man, the path of a hero is its own reward," Ben said.

The man looked surprised.

"You're serious… You are the first supe I ever met that was… honest in his work," the man said surprised

"I'm not a supe. I admit you caught me, I am Ben 10,000, but I am no supe. I thought you might have figured regarding my gauntlet.." Ben said, "By the way, what's your name?"

The man slowly approached him and said, "I am Billy Butcher. I'm the one who spanks the supes when they get out of line. You haven't… yet. So I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for now. But I'm watching you, and I'll keep your secret."

He then proceeded to leave before Ben said, "Thank you… But before you leave I have one question. The heroes in those billboards, those commercials...they're not like me are they?"

Billy paused and turned to face him.

After a minute Billy said, "Come with me…"

000

At a bar, not too far from the warehouse, Billy and Ben had a couple drinks, well Billy had a bottle of rum and Ben had a glass of water.

"OK, here's the deal. Every year hundreds of people are killed by the supes due to collateral damage or loss of control of their powers," Billy said

"What?" Ben said, "That's terrible…"

"No. The terrible part is that their deaths are either swept under the rug or they'll just downplay it as if it were not a big deal, pay off the victims and then go off their fucking merry-way."

"Wow, they are very incompetent. How so no one called them out?" Ben asked.

"Protesters protesting a mentally ill psychopath, a muscle bound, amazon bitch, a masturbatory, ego-driven speedster, a Deep, the Black Suit, and Fairy Girl? You might as well mass-order body bags and schedule said bags to be hauled and burned in a Hawaiian volcano somewhere to keep the smells away," Bill said.

"So...hell no," Ben said.

"Now I have a question for you… How did you know the A-Train would run over that woman?" Billy asked.

"I'll be honest, he did. I just undid it by reversing time," Ben said casually while drinking his water.

"Huh?"

"Yep, reversed time. Transformed into my Chronokinetic aliens and...I think I said too much," Ben said looking at the hilarious reaction Billy showed. He had no words. He couldn't deny it, this was the same man who could transform into a plant, and various other creatures. Seeing here that he could transform into a being that can control time was...was alien.

Ben was not the person to take lightly. If this was true and that he reversed and paused time, the Seven would be really quick to take him in. He was very conflicted in this situation. A supe who can manipulate time. That's dangerous.

However, Ben does not mean any harm at all. All he did was just help people. However, he was curious on why he was in this universe though. Ben seemed to be a normal guy.

His eyes glanced at Ben's Ultimatrix, the source of his power. He started to calculate all the possibilities this man could have done. This man had ALL of that, but he was afraid that there was more in that watch than what his imagination would want to lead him to believe.

His heart slowed down a bit after regaining his composure. Ben gently patted his back and had a worried look on his face, looking more of guilt than entertained.

"I think I said too much there. Are you ok?"

"You know… Normally, I wouldn't believe someone when they say some crazy shit like that… But, you're not licensed by Vought and I am assuming you hacked into those servers to add yourself to the system so you could go around unnoticed." Billy said. "And what can you tell me about that doohikey on your arm. The source of your transformations?"

"Well, promise you're not gonna black out?" Ben asked.

"Is it something outrageous or is it inside the boundaries?"

"I'll give you a logline to shorten it up. Short and to the point."

"Then go ahead."

000

Inside of this prestige, dimly lit office, Stan Edgar sat at his desk looking at articles from his phone. Article after article it always traced back to one person.

Ben 10,000.

He was an unlicensed hero; nothing from Vought, which would make owning his powers as well as his personhood difficult. However, he was curious about the object he would have around his wrist though. This was something that interested him the most. He would be at his desk pondering.

He was becoming obsessed with the device around his wrist. While at first he dismissed at as some sort of toy, but the more of the news he consumed of this man, the more he saw him reaching over to the watch and a flash of light will appear, replacing him with another creature from out of this world.

Out of all the heroes, Ben 10,000 interested him the most.

"You are full of surprises, Ben 10,000," he said as he reached over to his cup of tea.
