Seeing Robin is the last thing she expected when she went home. It's not entirely unwelcomed but it is confusing. He's not supposed to be there and yet he is. Her heart is pounding because she just saw him with another woman last night so yes, it's all messed up.
He made her drink water as he took care of her in her bedroom. She has no idea how they got there but Robin took charge when she had her outburst in the living room.
Yes, he really shouldn't be there with her.
"You can go. I'll be fine", she said, giving him the way out because she's not in the best head space to talk.
She realized it's a lost cause because as it turns out, he can be stubborn too. He didn't leave. Instead, he sat on the bed with her, eyes burning holes on her.
"Regina, I don't regret sleeping with you at the lake. I only regret at how it made you feel afterwards because that's never my intention. You have to believe me. I will never do that to you. I will never hurt you like that",
The thing is, she believes him…all of it. That's how far gone she is when it comes to Robin. After everything that happened to her, she forgets them with him.
"Marian?"
It's absurd because she has no right to ask. She's not his girlfriend. Hell, she does not do relationships. She told him that so if he wants to screw another woman right after screwing her, she has no right to feel anything about that.
"She's an old girlfriend from college, one that does not matter to me anymore. Last night, there's nothing there, Regina. They invited her over. Well, they invited themselves to my house. She wore my shirt just to play her wicked games on me, to mess up my life but that was it. I swore it",
She wants to tell him he does not need to explain anything to her because they're not together but she also felt relieved. Seeing Marian in his house wearing his shirt really did mess up her mind.
It was an ugly feeling settling in her stomach that she couldn't ignore. She hates it. She hates Marian. She hates how she lets things to get this far over a man when she swore years ago that she's never going to be like this again.
Then, Robin waltz into her life and her resolve quickly evaporated.
"Oh…fuck it…" she muttered before crashing her lips onto his.
She was quick to straddle his thighs as she felt his arms wrapping once again around her body. That lifted a ton of weight from her shoulders and her chest. Feeling him so close, it eased her nerves and nothing else matters other than just having him there with her.
Isn't that absurd?
He then broke the kiss and stared at her. "Regina…I don't want to ruin this so, tell me now if I am misreading this—"
She cut him off with her lips and kissed him deeply, her tongue swirling with his. She is being greedy but she wants him. She needs him.
"Regina…"
"Please, don't talk. Right now, I am yours. Do whatever you want with me…please", did she just say please twice?
The growl it tore from his throat sent shivers down her spine. He quickly removed her top before unclasping her bra. His mouth instantly latched onto her breasts as she threw her head back in bliss.
Yes, she is giving him free reign to do whatever he pleases with her body and she knows at the back of her mind, it's more than just her body she's giving him.
The thought scared her to death but she is helpless. She couldn't control it nor do anything to stop it. She is giving the man everything and she knows that he now has the power to destroy her if he wishes it.
Robin flipped them over so he is hovering above her before he kissed her again with that fervor that's making her insides churn. His expert hands roamed around her body until he removed her remaining clothes.
There laying bare for his eyes, he took a moment to stare. It made her conscious because the way he's looking at her is something so powerful, she feels she could melt. He then removed his shirt before exploring her body again with his mouth.
He went down and down until he suddenly latched his mouth into her center and she swore she saw stars.
"Robin! Oh my…"
The things the man can do with his tongue should be illegal. Her entire body is on fire and he showed no sign of stopping. He feasted on her that she didn't even notice him removing the rest of his clothes.
"I want you to cum in my mouth", he said and she moaned.
She gripped the sheets because she needs something to anchor herself or else, she would fall over the cliff.
It's coming, she can feel it building in her abdomen and she didn't want to lose control just yet. It scares her but when his hand found hers, she just lost it. She cried out his name and he drink everything she has to give.
He climbed his way back up before kissing her again. She is still high from the intensity of her orgasm when he slid into her, burying himself to the hilt. She wanted to scream but no sound came out.
"Fuck, Regina…" he growled into her ear and she clings to him.
This is so different from their time at the lake. That one was rushed, filled with desperation to chase her release. This one is slow and intense that she feels like crying. He is not fucking her. No. He is making love to her and she does not know what to make of it.
She must have cried because he halted his movement and wiped the tears that had escaped her eyes.
"Am I hurting you?" he asked,
His voice is laced with concern only for her. What on earth did she do to deserve a man like him?
"No, you're not…but I am afraid that you will",
"That's not going to happen. I swear it in my life. I will always catch you as you fall. Please, believe me", he said.
She does. Her words stuck in her throat, she can only nod and with that, he started moving again. They didn't break their gazes from one another, and it made the whole experience even more powerful.
When he increased his pace, her nails dug deep into his skin. Her release is building once more and she knows it's only a matter of time for her to break. When he pressed his lips on hers again, she broke and let go. He swallowed her moans before he followed her.
They lay side by side on her bed as he traced lazy patters on her bare skin. It's another thing she does not do, cuddle. Usually, she just kicks the men out of her room once the deed is done. She never let them stay. Robin, however, is a different case. She does not want to let him go.
"I don't do this, Robin", she confessed as she listened to the sound of his heart beating.
"I know",
"I shouldn't be doing this",
She felt him tensed and she thought he's going to finally leave but he only held her tighter.
"Why?" he asked.
"…because the last time I let myself fall, I ended up getting burned. It messed me up so badly I thought I wouldn't survive it. I don't want to go through that again",
It was a nightmare and it's something she does not want to find herself in what's remain of her lifetime.
"I can't promise to be perfect, Regina, because I am not, but I can promise that I will always be here for you. I know it's hard for you to trust people but I will never put you through things you don't want to", he said.
She chuckled.
"You always know what to say, don't you?"
"…not really. I had my moments…like last night. I could have said something but I didn't. I shouldn't have let you think that I was just using you even for a second and yet, I did. That was a mistake I don't plan on repeating",
She pushed herself up to look at him.
"I feel like I should warn you that I don't know how to do this…us. It's been so long that I forgot what it's like. Things may get difficult. I am difficult. If you want to back out—"
He pressed his lips onto hers, shutting her up completely.
"I don't mind difficult. I am here, Regina, and I am not going anywhere. I will take whatever it is you're willing to give. No rush. No pressure. Take your time if you must but I will always be here",
The next day, she woke up at an empty bed.
For a moment, she thought she just dreamt the whole thing but her clothes are nowhere to be found and she can still smell Robin on the pillow next to her telling her that it's not just a dream.
Did he leave? That would have been a complete bummer because after last night, she really thought things have gotten better between the two of them.
It's not something she planned on happening but she had already jumped over the cliff and now, she feared he realized that he really does not want to deal with her messed up head.
She grabbed a robe and then went downstairs to check if he indeed left her house. She didn't let herself think how that would make her feel if he did because she knows the answer to that but she needs to check.
Once she's down the stairs, she smelled food coming from the kitchen. It got her curious, so she went there, arms crossed on her chest. There, she found Robin busy setting up the table. She can see pancakes on the plate and a freshly made coffee.
"What are you doing?"
Her voice startled him so badly he almost dropped the mug.
"Jesus, Regina…what are you doing down here? You should be sleeping still. I'm not done here!"
She wanted to laugh because he seems really upset that she caught him preparing breakfast.
"Oh, should I just head back upstairs and pretend to be sleeping?"
He rolled his eyes around before approaching her. "It's supposed to be a surprise one that you spoiled. Good morning, love",
The term made her tense but as soon as he kissed her, it dissipated. She decided she didn't mind him calling her that. It felt good.
"Should I expect this every morning?"
"Only if you will let me…come on, before the food gets cold",
She followed him to the table and she lets him serve her a good amount of pancake. "Sorry I invaded your kitchen but it seemed to neglected and unused. I would have ordered something from Granny's but I wanted to do something nice so I just cooked",
"I don't mind you using the kitchen", she was surprised how steady her voice sounded despite her eyes watering a bit.
No one has done something for her like that before. It all still feels like a dream to her, one that she does not want to wake up from.
"Good because I actually enjoyed it. You have a nice kitchen",
They ate their breakfast as Robin chatted about his company and this new project his working on. She enjoyed listening to him. He seems so passionate about his work and he cares about his people which is refreshing. There's not a lot of that in her world and in the field she's at, there's no room for care. It's all about competition.
"So…why don't you get ready for work while I clean up here?"
"Oh no…I'll do that. You already made the breakfast. I can clean it up",
"Nonsense. This is my territory now", she arched a brow at that. "Go get ready and then, I'll go home to do the same. Perhaps, I can take you out for lunch later?"
She should say no but it's too late for that so instead, she agreed. "Lunch would be nice",
