It didn't take long before the pirates were gathered on the great field, waiting for the command which would tell them to charge. Gil stood in between Harry and Jay. He couldn't see his father anymore. The main army of Auradon stood in front of the pirates. The armour created a sea of blue and yellow, blocking most of his view. Gil could just get a little glance of a dark army still crossing the bridge. His father should be near the end. The fierce sound of the horns would soon fill the air and the two armies would collide.

Gil looked towards the sky, trying to set his mind on something else than the upcoming battle. He could see three strange birds flying in the sky, all three of different sizes. He had to ask Jay later what kind of birds that could be, Gil thought when a small smile appeared back on his face. Not just Jay and all the other amazing people he had met here, there was still so much more in Auradon that needed protection.

The sudden sound of rustling leaves brought Gil's attention back to the situation at hand. Lonnie jumped out of the tree and landed in front of Uma.

"We're in luck," Lonnie reported to her. She and a few other pirates had been sitting in the trees to have a better view of the battlefield. "It seems like Gaston is also splitting up his armies and both his sons take command of the two other fronts. To put it simply, they're splitting up."

"Easier to get to them like that," Uma smirked and was completely focused on the battle to come. She didn't even notice the side glance she got from Harry. It was one of the many reasons why Harry admired her so much. Her calmness and strength made all the other soldiers glow with confidence and hope. Even the new troops, which were facing their very first battle, seemed to be at ease in her presence. Harry nodded to himself, nothing could go wrong.

The loud horns were blown and suddenly the still blue and yellow sea started moving towards the bridge. The sound of the horns got accompanied by the cries of hundreds of soldiers who grabbed their weapons and stormed towards the enemy. It had begun. Gil took a deep breath and looked over at Jay. Jay smiled back at him and gave him a reassuring nod.

'No matter what happens, I'll be here,' his eyes told him silently. Gil tried to steady his shaking hands. At least he didn't have any doubts anymore about what he had to do.

"Any sign of Yzma?" Uma asked Lonnie.

She already shook her head. "If there was, you would've known. I also would've told Carlos already. But no, nothing."

Uma frowned for just a moment. "Then we just need to keep watching our backs. But I'm sure Evie and Carlos will warn us in time if Yzma is spotted. We set our plan in motion." Uma looked over at Harry, Gil and Jay. For a moment she scanned their faces, but all three of them, even Gil, seemed confident. "You know what to do. I'm counting on you three."

Harry gave her a smirk, raising his hook high up in the air. "Be there in time," he warned the others. He left the group, with Jay and Gil following him closely.

The taste of battle gave him an indescribable rush through his body. Definitely this time, knowing he would finally get his revenge on the LeGume twins. He had been waiting a long time for that. An evil twinkle could be seen in his eyes, while he walked past the Auradon soldiers. The soldiers in front were already in a wicked fight with the warriors from the Isle. The men and women were still anxiously waiting for their command to reinforce the troops wherever some weak points would occur.

Harry was still just a kid, but he didn't feel anxious at all. He was raised for this. He didn't even care that his father was in the opposite army. Not when his best friends, his sisters and Uma were all counting on him. Harry glanced over his back, just making sure both Gil and Jay were still close by. He showed them an evil grin and a gleam of excitement was shown in his eyes. They had almost reached their goal.

Gil could see them again. His dad rose above all the other warriors on a huge, black horse. He held a sword in his right hand and the reins in the other. Gil could even see the pistol his dad had placed behind his belt. The same confident, evil smirk and exciting gleaming eyes were clearly visible on his dad's face. It made Gil shudder. He shook it off and took his gaze away from his dad. Instead he looked over at Jay, who was running beside him. He looked focused. Ready and confident, but there was no bloodthirst to be seen at all. Gil let out a shaky breath. No matter what, Jay would be there.

"There!" Harry screamed and suddenly stopped. Jay almost bumped into him, but stopped just in time. Gil didn't even slow down. He saw the man Harry was pointing at and he knew what he had to do.

Trip wasn't on a horse, but his huge posture still made him stand out in the huge group of people he commanded. Warriors in dark were fighting the blue and yellow soldiers, with the huge commander standing over them. Gil took a little knife in his hand. He had to do this correctly, making sure he wouldn't hurt anybody. Without putting too much thought into it, Gil raised his hand backwards and threw the little knife towards his brother. Just in time Trip saw the object flying towards him and easily blocked it with his shield. The knife felt harmless on the ground and Gil sighed relieved. Trip put his focus on him and took some firm steps towards Gil, already raising his sword. Gil took his own sword tightly in his hand. It had to look convincing.

"Looks like you actually showed up on the battlefield, little Gillie. Dad thought you wouldn't have the guts to do so."

"I have orders to defeat you," Gil said back. He had been repeating the line over and over in his head, so he would actually manage to say it out loud.

Trip just laughed at him. Gil agreed; it indeed sounded ridiculous. "You're not serious, I hope!" Trip exclaimed. Gil swore his brother's laugh could be heard over the entire battlefield.

"I'm serious, Trip. You better surrender." The laughter got even louder and Gil's courage sunk even lower. He knew both Harry and Jay were still close by. He knew what to do. And for this moment he just had to stand his ground.

Trip's laughter finally ended just as abruptly as it had started. He looked over at his warriors, who looked confused back up to him. "Don't just stand there, attack those mongrels. Let me handle little Gillie over there."

Gil took one last deep breath before he raised his sword and waited for his brother to attack. He didn't have to wait long, since Trip launched at him within a second. Gil could easily parry him and jumped backwards. Another blow of Trip's sword got blocked. And another, and another, and another. Gil stepped back, slowly lurking Trip away from his men. He had to wear him out, make him angry and basically completely focused on him. For the first time a little smile appeared on Gil's face. It suddenly didn't seem so hard as it had been before.

Gaston stabbed another Auradon soldier with his sword and left the person lifeless on the ground. He forced his horse to stumble over the body to get to his next victim. They were on the winning hand, Gaston was sure of it. He had to admit; the start of the battle didn't go according to plan. Just before the passage he learned all of their boats were sabotaged. Their only option was to cross the bridge to get to Auradon, leaving half of his warriors trapped on the bridge, but not for much longer. If they could push back the Auradon soldiers, and they definitely would, then more and more warriors could reinforce his troops. Even though the Auradon troops weren't supposed to be here. It was meant to be a surprise attack, but somehow the fields were filled with Auradon troops ready for battle.

Gaston knew someone had betrayed him, but at the moment he couldn't care less. He would get this traitor after they had won the battle. Gaston smirked to himself, kicking a soldier in the face. It was probably better that the Auradon soldiers had already arrived, giving him and his warriors immediately the opportunity to fight. Gaston was enjoying every moment of this, but the best was yet to come. When he would be standing face to face with the old Beast. After all these years, he would finally triumph and get what righteously belonged to him all along.

Suddenly another horn filled the air. Gaston looked up. A wave of blue and yellow soldiers came towards them. The flank on the left had weakened and another group of Auradon soldiers came in to push the warriors of the Isle backwards. Gaston cursed to himself. This was not how it was meant to be. The other troops were never able to cross the bridge if they weren't able to make room for them. His eyes glanced over to the left again. Trip was nowhere to be seen. Gaston cursed the boy. He should be there, commanding the troops. How was it even possible that his own son was failing so hard. Then his eyes fell on two boys fighting each other. The two were only focused on each other, while only one of them rained down attacks on the other.

"Gil," Gaston grunted the name through his teeth. He yanked on the reins, ignoring the horse's frightful whine. He hated abandoning the front ranks where all the action happened, but he had to fulfil his duties as a leader. Therefore he had to find someone.

"Shan Yu," Gaston cried out to the commander of the Huns. The man was massive and even Gaston didn't dare to come close by when the warlord swung his massive sword around. It was hard to imagine how this man was stopped by a little girl. Shan Yu immediately shot his yellow eyes towards Gaston, his face and clothes covered in blood. His horse wanted to run away again, but Gaston commanded him to stay his ground. The horse decided the man on top of him was even scarier and obeyed. "I need you to look after my troops. And let one of your men send a message to my son Junior to meet me as soon as he can."

"Consider it done," Shan Yu growled in response. He killed another soldier in blue and yellow before he turned towards one of his messengers who was always close by.

Gaston nodded, secretly grateful for the warlord's help. Gaston would never admit it, but this entire attack would've been helpless without the help of the other villains. Shan Yu had always been a leader of a great army and therefore much more experienced in leading such a stronghold. And Yzma, who could be there any moment to launch an incredible attack from behind, had some experience in ruling over a country. But, so Gaston knew, he was a much better leader in general and therefore the only righteous commander of the Warriors of the Isle.

Gaston smirked to himself. Things might not be going according to plan, like the destruction of the ships or one of his own sons failing him, but victory was only a few moments away. He was certain of it. He indeed didn't have to wait long, before Junior showed up by his side.

"Dad, what's going on?" the boy asked immediately.

"Grab your men and help the left flank over there!" Gaston yelled and pointed at the mess where his younger twin brother should be.

Since Junior wasn't on a horse like his dad, he couldn't get a clear view of what was happening. His huge size made him stand out in the crowd, but he still wasn't able to look over the heads of all the other warriors. He still obediently nodded, not asking any of the questions that were running through his mind. Wondering what went wrong on his brother's side. And, more importantly, if Trip was still doing okay.

"Alright dad!" Junior yelled back and immediately gathered his troops.

Carlos, Evie and Dude were standing on a hilltop and looked out over the entire battlefield. They could see the soldiers of Auradon already winning some terrain, while most of the warriors of the Isle were still stuck on the bridge. However, they were not paying much attention to the front fighting. They scanned the entire area, searching for anything abnormal. So far they didn't see anything strange at all. It seemed impossible for Yzma to send a surprise attack from behind, since there was no way she could lead several troops behind the ranks of Auradon. Still Carlos and Evie stood on their post.

"What if they were planning to take one of the ships," Carlos wondered out loud. "Their plan would be ruined since they were all destroyed. We would be standing here for nothing."

"This indeed won't do," Evie sighed.

Carlos looked up in surprise when Evie dropped her binoculars and started to rumble in her purse. "What are you doing? We still need to be on lookout."

Evie then showed him her little mirror with pride. "Thought I would bring this little trinket with me today."

"Wow, haven't seen that one in a while," Carlos said with a smile.

"I told Fairy Godmother I might need it, she immediately agreed," Evie answered, before turning towards the mirror. She looked at her reflection for a split second, before she started to rant out the spell. "Mirror, mirror in my hand. Show me where Yzma and her men stand."

Carlos looked over her shoulder when the reflection disappeared and showed an entirely new image. They both could see Yzma, with just two other men standing by her side. The rest of the street they were standing in was empty.

"That's already close to the castle of Auradon!" Carlos exclaimed. "How did they already get there? How did they get passed off all the soldiers?"

"Not really important right now, buddy!" Dude said back and already made his way downwards.

"Dude is right. Somehow we already missed them, so now we just need to find a way to stop them." Evie ran after Dude, putting her mirror back in her purse. Carlos quickly followed them.

"But there were also just three guys. What are they planning with just three guys?" Carlos continued questioning out loud.

"We need to go there and figure that out, don't we," Evie said back, while trying hard not to lose her footing.

Out of breath the three of them reached the city of Auradon and looked out for any big armies on the move.

"Where are they?" Evie looked around, already grabbing her little mirror again.

"It's no use, every street in Auradon looks mostly the same. It's impossible to exactly pinpoint where they are. Definitely since they were with just three." Carlos stopped talking and looked over at Dude. The dog had his right front paw lifted and his nose was high in the air. He sniffed intensely, trying to identify the weird scent that had caught his attention.

"You found anything, Dude?" Carlos asked carefully, not wanting to snap the dog out of his concentration.

"Follow me!" Dude simply answered and ran off again. Dude followed his nose while he ran through the empty streets, closely followed by Carlos and Evie. It didn't take long before Dude found the source of the weird scent he had picked up on. Three empty vails were laying on the cobblestones of the street.

"It smells like magic," Dude said, still carefully sniffing the bottles. Evie picked one up and looked at it. A few drops of pink liquid was still left on the bottom of the vial.

"Probably because it is magic," Evie said to herself.

"Good job, Dude!" Carlos praised the dog, petting him on his head. "Any idea where they went after this."

The nose of the dog went back into the air again. Indeed the same scent was clearly in the air, not even so far away from here. "This way!"

Gil could slowly feel his arms going numb. He had no idea how many attacks he had parried by now, but he knew he had to keep this up a little longer. He had spotted both Jay and Harry in the mess of fighting soldiers and warriors. Gil could also see other pirates around them, like both Harriet and Sammy, who made sure they stayed close by. They made sure none of the warriors would be interrupting his duet with his brother. Even though so far it wasn't much of a duet. All Gil did was trying not to get hit by his brother's sword, while he slowly drew himself away from the battlefield. His warriors were left confused, not sure if they had to follow their commander or if they had to stand their ground.

"Come on coward, fight me!" Trip suddenly yelled up to him.

"I really can't," Gil answered through all the noise around them.

"I knew it! Dad was right! You're weak and a coward!"

"I don't want to do this!" Gil yelled back. He had to quickly raise his sword to block another of his brother's attacks. It felt like Trip was just randomly striking him from different angles. It was one of the characteristics he had inherited from their dad, as Harry had pointed out when they discussed the battle plan. Quickly out of patience and once they were they would lean into rage. It would only take a couple of minutes before either of the twin brothers would be blinded by rage if something wouldn't go according to plan. Break their patience, wear them out and make them completely focused on the duet. A simple, yet exhausting plan. Gil still stood his ground, not planning on giving up soon. He had to do this. And he had to do this right.

"Fight back!" Trip growled again. Another hard blow came from the right. Gil lifted his sword to protect his head, but the impact of the sword made him stumble backwards. He quickly found his balance again and took a firm stand in front of his brother. He breathed heavily and his arms were slightly shaking. But he still had a determined gleam in his eyes and he held a tight grip on the heft of his sword.

"I won't." It wasn't more than a whisper that had left Gil's lips, but Trip understood it nevertheless. He narrowed his eyes for a moment, giving them both a short break from the rain of attacks he had brought on Gil. It was suddenly very clear his little brother was indeed part of the LeGume family.
