Amity POV

Amity looked around the room at the 9 faces surrounding her. Her mind physically could not process everything that had just happened. She was at a loss for words, and didn't know whether she wanted to scream, cry, laugh, pass out, or all of the above. Instead, she settled for silent bewilderment.

Right as Eda opened her mouth to ask a question, Amity heard a sound behind her. A sound she recognized, from the number of times her clumsy human had dropped her phone on the floor. She turned around, seeing the very same phone, laying on the floor yet again, cracked screen and all, with the screen pointed upwards. She walked over to it, picking it up, aware that the other 9 current inhabitants of the house were watching her.

Looking at the screen, she saw an image of Luz, expression tense, and tired. Probably after a long day of studying glyph combos, Amity reasoned. She recognized the expression on the human. However, seeing it, it brought back an image to her mind. One of bright pink light, and glittering particles raining down around her. She felt the tears flow from her eyes, but she was so overwhelmed, not a single sob escaped her. She just collapsed to her knees, holding the phone tight to her chest.

Amity had been lost in her thoughts for a while, that much she was sure of. All she could see was the same scene playing over and over in her head. And 4 resounding words that shook her to her soul. Luz Noceda was dead. When she finally awakened from her stupor, she looked up to see all of her friends' concerned faces looking at her with questioning expressions. She felt grateful that they all cared. And for once, was even touched by Hooty's presence.

But she was in no state to accept it. She just simply looked at the three faces that had the same horror behind their eyes as hers. Willow. Gus. Hunter. She locked eyes with them, and the tears started flowing again. This time she sobbed. Broken, loud, unprofessional, and ugly sobs. She wailed in anguish, as her friends all began to quietly weep too. Everyone in the room, crying together. When one heard a cry like that, it was impossible not to cry as well. It was overwhelming.

The cry of a shattered soul.

-10 hours later-

It had taken some time, before Amity ran out of tears. She never knew she could cry that long without stopping before. But eventually, she couldn't any more. She felt exhausted. After the long day of fighting without rest, then 10 hours of sobbing uncontrollably, she couldn't help but feel the tiredness in her body.

Over the last 10 hours, Willow; Gus; Hunter; and herself took turns explaining the events that happened at the Titan's Skull, recounting what had happened. As the current speaker began to sob again, the next would pick up where they left off. After they finished, the tears flowed fresh again, as all 10 individuals currently present began to weep once more. Hooty, eventually, returned to his spot in the front door, simply wanting to be left alone. And for once, Amity wasn't even horrified at the image of the bird tube ripping itself out of the small bird house, and reattaching to the door, once again bringing the house to life.

After all, she had seen something much worse. Hooty would probably never horrify her again. He was nothing compared to watching a loved one literally explode in front of your eyes. Even if it was an explosion of magical energy, and not gruesome proportions, it was still haunting.

And after everything, Amity knew she would never be the same. She wanted nothing more than to go to sleep, and wake up tomorrow thinking this was all a bad dream. But, she knew it wasn't. She was far too aware of how real this all was.

She was about to just curl into a ball again, and just let herself fall apart, when she heard the front door open, and an annoyingly shrill voice shouted into the house "Uh... hey guys?" with a nervous tone.

"What's wrong Hootsifer?" Lilith aked the owl tube, walking over to him, concerned by his expression.

"Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Luz's friends say that the Titan's Skull was blown up?" Hooty asked, looking over at Willow, Gus, Hunter and Amity.

"That's correct..." Lilith confirmed in a confused tone. "Why are you asking?" She questioned.

"Because... The Skull is just fine. It looks the same as it always has." He commented.

The four friends looked at each other in confusion, before turning to hooty. "What do you mean?" Gus asked.

"Well, from the clearing right over there" Hooty said, pointing his body in the direction he meant, "You can see a lot of the Island Clearly. It's a great view point Luz found. I went over to cry some more, and noticed that the Skull was not blown up." He replied, his own eyebrow raised in confusion.

The 9 people present all rushed outside, following as Hooty stretched himself across the yard and through part of the forest, into a clearing. There, as they all looked, was the Titan's Skull. Completely intact. In fact, as they looked around, none of the destruction from the previous night was present.

As Amity looked out stunned, she heard Gus speak up, noticing one thing she had missed.

"Uh... Hey guys?" He asked, looking out over the horizon. "Where is the big arena and conduit for the Day of Unity spell?"

At once, all 10 heads turned to the point where the massive pire and walls had been built. It had taken well over a month to construct it, yet as everyone looked out, the portion of the forest where it was constructed wasn't even cleared. It was as if it was never there at all.

The group's confusion only grew, as chatter broke out, questioning what was happening, when Amity heard her brother Edric suddenly gasp. "Wait! That's not the only thing different! Look at Amity's head!" he shouted.

Amity brought a hand to her face where she had been cut by Belos. She grimaced, knowing it would probably hurt later, when the reality finally set in. "I know. It's a bad cut, but that doesn't mean you need to be rude" She commented curtly, not having the patience for her siblings teasing right now.

"Cut? What cut are you talking about Ams? He was talking about your hair." Emira replied, looking confused. As she commented on it, everyone's eyes went wide save for Amity's.

"What's wrong with my hair? What do you mean 'What cut are you talking about'? What is happening?" She questioned, when Willow walked over to her, and pulled the hair tie out of her hair, releasing it from its half up style she kept it in. Wait... I cut my hair. How did it get so long? Amity wondered, before seeing green locks fall in front of her face.

"What in the world?!" She asked, bewildered, as the group all looked at each other.

"The twins are right" Hunter stated, looking around "All of our wounds from fighting Belos are gone..." He looked down at his close, instantly jumping as he threw the cloak he was wearing to the ground. Amity noticed he was back in his pristine Golden Guard attire. Something he hadn't worn in quite some time.

Amity looked around the group in utter bewilderment. Everyone's appearances had changed. Eda and Lilith had matching eyes, not the heterochromatic ones they had after sharing the curse. Lilith's hair no longer had a white streak. Willow was wearing her school uniform, Abomination collared. Gus was shorter, and his voice higher. The twins... Well, they looked the same. But everyone else seemed to have been reversed. Even King's broken horn was missing the half that Luz glued back on.

What in the Titans name is going on?! Amity wondered to herself, when a voice interrupted her thoughts.

"Baby blight" Eda called her by that dreadful nickname "Do you still have Luz's human scroll thing?"

"Yes. I do." Amity responded, holding up the device in her hand. "It appeared in the room with us when we all appeared in The Owl House."

"Do you know how to use it?" Eda questioned

"Somewhat... Luz had shown me a few things before..." She felt herself choke up again

"WAIT" Lilith all but screamed, startling Amity out of her rapidly approaching descent into another sob fest. "Didn't you guys say Belos accused Luz of using magic forbidden since before he arrived?" She questioned frantically

"Yes, but what does that have to do with..." Willow responded, when she was cut off as Eda gasped.

"Wait! You don't think she..." Eda questioned looking at Lilith, with a mix of emotions on her face.

"I am starting to think she did..." Lilith responded, her voice filled with dread.

"Can someone explain what in the world is going on?!" King exclaimed, looking very annoyed. If Amity's emotions weren't so messed up right now, she would have acknowledged (silently, mind you) the fact that his small form looked adorable, acting all angry and threatening. However, she was now locked onto Lilith and Eda's mumbled ramblings. Slowly, she started to realize what they were talking about.

"There is only one type of magic that has been banned since before Belos took control of the Isles... At least, that's what all the history books say..." Amity said, feeling her heart start to race at the thought.

"What magic was it?" Gus realized he would never guess it on his own. In fact, most wouldn't. The only reason Amity did think of it was because of the many late nights she spent with Luz studying wild magic, the origins of magic, and the Glyphs.

"Time Manipulating Magic" Eda said, her voice icy with dread, and fear. "Time Manipulating Magic was deemed far too dangerous very long ago. Before witches developed bile sacs. Back when everyone did magic the way Luz did. Since it was banned so long ago, there is no known way to cast it like we do, with drawing spell circles using our bile. However, with glyphs... It would technically still exist."

"And" Lilith joined in "If there was ever anyone to learn that spell, it would have been one of two people..." She paused, looking at the wide eyed group around her. "Those two people would be Luz Noceda, the one that rediscovered glyph magic, and has an unnatural knack for it..."

"And Philip Wittebane..." Amity said, her voice hollow at the realization. The group gasped at the name they all knew now.

"The first human in the Boiling Isles... who became the emperor" Willow concluded.

"And Luz had been studying his private journal... With that mouse showing her all he recorded." Eda continued "I had assumed she stopped researching after she and Lilith went back in time and learned who Philip really was... But maybe she didn't stop. And if she found some of Philip's notes, and used her own genius to figure it out..."

Turning, Eda sprinted back to The Owl house, everyone following in tow only moments behind her. As they entered, she turned to Hooty. "We don't know what's going on right now. I need you on full lockdown. Treat it as if Lilith was back in her old Coven Head days and brought 50 guards to come capture me again. No remorse to anyone who isn't a trusted friend." She said quickly.

Hooty did what Amity could only assume was his version of a salute, before turning to patrol around the house with renewed vigor.

Eda then bolted up the stairs. The group followed her as she flung open the door to what would have been Luz's room. However, when Amity looked in, it looked like nothing more than a storage closet, filled with junk. Eda practically dove into the massive pile, digging through it like a madwoman, muttering about how "It's gotta be here" before Lilith stopped her.

"Edalyn..." She said softly "If Luz did what we think she did... Then right now, this room is how it was before she arrived in the Isles. The journal is not here."

"It's gotta be though! We have to figure out what she did so we can undo it! I need to make sure my little owlet is okay!" Eda frantically responds.

Amity realized she had to be the voice of reason here. "What about Luz's phone?" She asked hopefully.

"Her what?" Most of the group responded, but Gus jumped up. "Her human scroll thingy! Didn't she record almost every journal entry on it, since she was worried the mouse wouldn't be able to show it to her again!?" he said excitedly

Eda turned to face Amity, and for the first time ever, Amity felt how a vole would when an Owl swooped in to catch it. She felt like prey as Eda stalked towards her predatorily. She was completely in mama owl mode now. Amity was saved when Lilith stopped her by placing a hand on her shoulder with a firm "Eda." that sounded more like a command than a way of addressing someone.

Eda seemed to snap out of whatever trance she was in, and bashfully apologized to Amity, motioning to her. "How about you show us what you know about that device?" She said, then ushered everyone downstairs, where they could all watch together.

-Downstairs-

The device was small. It would have been too small for everyone to even watch, had it not been for Gus. He knew a lot about human things, and apparently, worked with Luz enough to have a solution. He had Edric and Amira help him with the spell, as without Luz's powerful glyphs, he needed more witches to complete it. When he was done however, the video on Luz's phone came to life. An illusion of Luz floated in the air above it.

As Amity looked at the illusion of Luz, she felt her hand begin to shake. Her emotions still hadn't settled yet, and she didn't know what to think. All she knew was that there was a chance that Luz was still alive. And judging by Eda and Lilith's reactions and theorizing, Amity was pretty sure it was a decent chance.

That was all she needed to steele her nerves, and keep her emotions in check. With a trembling hand she reached forward, and pressed on the button Luz had called a "Play Button". The room filled with the sound of Luz's voice, as the illusion hovering in the air began to move.
