Amity POV

Amity looked at the illusion of Luz in front of her, with nothing but pure shock on her face. The illusion vanished as Luz ended the video, and the room was silent. Even the walls of The Owl House seemed to have stopped breathing. Several silent minutes passed, without a single sound, as everyone in the room seemed to be still trying to comprehend what they just saw.

Luz broke every rule of magic, gave her life to Belos, and did it all to save those currently in The Owl House?! Amity thought to herself, still not sure whether she believed everything Luz said or not. The first sound to break the silence was a soft clicking sound from Luz's phone. A sound that Luz had told Amity was the phone's way of letting you know it had sat idle for too long, and was going to sleep to preserve its energy.

As the quiet sound echoed through the room, it seemed almost deafening in the silence it broke. Immediately loud chatter broke out, everyone talking at once, trying to understand what they just saw. But Amity wasn't hearing any of them. She just stared at Luz's phone laying on the table. Her throat felt tight. Her heart felt like it was torn, and her eyes burned. But despite all of that, Amity didn't make a sound, as tears ran down her cheeks. Tears or relief.

Luz was alive.

Luz was alive!

Amity instantly stood up, and moved towards the door, all eyes in the room on her. But as she got to the door, she looked back at everyone in the room with confusion. "Why are you all just sitting there?" She asked, as if they were the ones behaving strangely.

"Where are you even going?" Emira asked, everyone nodding in agreement to her question.

"To go find Luz... Where else?" Amity responded, giving them all a incredulous look, as if they had just asked her why she had legs, or some other question with a stupidly obviuous answer.

"Amity... We can't." Edric replied. As Amity opened her mouth to argue, she was surprised to hear a choked sob from Eda, who then also replied. "We can't go get her... At least not yet." Eda said, voice tight. Trying to hold back her sobs.

Amity took a breath to respond, but Eda spoke first.

"First, we don't know where she is. From what I gathered about that spell she casted, she let Belos pick what happened to her. Probably to ensure he would let her keep her decisions about the spell. If Belos could have Luz, then he wouldn't need us." Eda finally let her tears flow.

"And secondly... She said not to look for her. She said that if we do, then it could undo everything she did..." Eda conceded, looking defeated.

"What does it matter?!" Amity cried out, looking at Eda with fury in her eyes. "When has Luz telling you not to follow her ever stopped you before?!"

"It never would have!" Eda yelled back. "It never would have, until now. Luz did something I can barely even comprehend... And she sacrificed herself. That much is clear. I don't know to what extent, but she did it. And I will be DAMNED if I let my daughters' sacrifice be wasted. " Eda shouted. The room fell eerily quiet at the realization that Eda called Luz her daughter, and the way she had just acted. Amity watched as Eda collapsed in on herself, sobbing freely now. Even Lilith looked shocked.

"I will not waste the opportunity Luz gave us." Eda finally added softly, once she regained some of her composure. "Luz told us what to do. And for once, I am going to do as she said. I don't understand this spell she casted. And I am not going to even try to do so. Without Luz here to explain it, Glyph magic always really confused me. Ask Lilith. The one time I tried to learn without Luz to guide me, I nearly destroyed this whole house!" Eda added, with a dry laugh, that sounded empty coming from her.

Amity watched Lilith give a small sad smile at that, nodding in agreement. "We may be smart, but when it comes to glyph magic, we need Luz to understand even the simplest of combinations. And that spell she did..." Lilith trailed off, eyes looking distant. "From what she showed in that... 'video' I think she called it... That was the most complex glyph combination I have ever seen. It would take me years and years to even start to understand it on my own. And that's in a small form. From what you four told us earlier, Luz made a glyph combo larger than the Owl house itself. I really have no hope of ever understanding what she did..."

Amity just looked at the two older witches in shock. Unable to comprehend what she had just heard. The two strongest Witches she knew had given up?! No. Amity wasn't going to listen. Luz needed them. And she was going to save her.

Luz had come and rescued her from her house when Amity and her siblings were locked up. She fought against Odalia and Kikimora to save them all. She had gone and faced Belos alone, again, to save everyone by herself. And every time, Amity was powerless to help Luz. Not again. Not this time.

Ignoring as everyone called out to her, Amity opened the door, and walked outside. She summoned her staff, or at least, tried to... However, Ghost; her white cat palisman, did not appear. Right. Back in time. That meant no Palisman yet. Fine. She could wak. If Belos had Luz, then she was in the conformatorium. Amity could make it by the end of the day. As she started to walk away, she felt a firm hand on her shoulder. She looked back with a glare, to find Lilith holding her back.

"Amity, don't. We need to respect Luz's decision..." Lilith said sadly.

"I don't care. I am going to get her back. She was there to save all of us... But who is going to save her?!" Amity cried out, jerking her shoulder out of Lilith's grasp, only to have Eda step in front of her now. "Move out of my way! I am going to save Luz!" Amity demanded, fury in her eyes now.

Eda stood strong, looking down at Amity. "Stop it, Baby Blight. Luz wouldn't want this." She said, her voice hoarse, and weak.

"I don't care. I am not leaving her now. Not after..." Amity trailed off, shaking her head. She pushed around Eda, continuing to try and leave, when she felt two pairs of arms wrap around her.

"Gus... Willow... Stop. I need to do this. I need to save Luz. I need her to be safe." Amity said, feeling her eyes begin to water, as she felt herself start to give in. No! She couldn't let them stop her. She needed to get to Luz.

She ducked down, out of their embrace, and started to run now. With a flash of Yellow Gold Light, Hunter stood in front of her. Holding his old Golden Guard staff. "Miss Blight..." He started, starting to reach out to her, but stopping before his hand came into contact. "You can't go. The human, Luz, knows what she is doing. She knows how to handle Belos better than anyone else in the Isles. She even navigated his mind with me..." He trailed off.

Amity just shook her head. "I don't care! She needs to be safe too!" She shouted, shoving Hunter back, hard enough to knock him to the ground.

Amity felt small claws grabbing at her leg, and looked down to see King hugging her leg. He looked so sad. "Please... Don't leave... I can't lose another friend..." He sobbed. The small broken voice he held would have made her heart weep. But right now, Amity couldn't care less. Especially not when she saw Hooty right behind King, looking at her hopefully. He didn't say anything, something she was thankful for. But she knew she had to do this.

Amity pulled her leg from King's grasp with a sad look, before lifting the small demon and sitting him atop hooty. She nodded at the Owl Tube, then turned. She took one more step before bumping into the only two she had hoped wouldn't stop her.

Ed and Em. They stood side by side, eyes red from crying. They simply looked at her, blocking her path. Amity tried to walk between them, but they put their arms out to block her. She tried to push through, and they hugged her tightly. Tears stung Amity's eyes, and she struggled harder. But the twins simply lifted her into the air, pinning her between them in a hug.

"Let me go! Luz saved everyone! EVERYONE! Someone needs to save her! And I can't lose her! I can't!" Amity loudly sobbed. She struggled hard, kicking and trying to break away from the twins grip. But they held her strong. She could hear them starting to cry too.

Slowly, Amity went limp in their arms, and just sobbed again. She gave in finally, and let out a wail of pain and sorrow, calling out Luz's name.

"Luz!" She screamed out, before continuing to loudly sob. No longer concerned about how others saw her. She sobbed harder. "We had our first kiss." She finally conceded. "You promised to take me out on a normal date. To show me the Human Realm! You promised!" She wailed even louder.

Her siblings lowered her to the ground, and Amity just fell to her knees as they continued to embrace her. Slowly, everyone in the clearing closed in, one at a time joining in the sad embrace. Trying to comfort the mourning girl.

"Luz..." Amity called again, her voice growing softer and softer each time she called out the Human's name. "Please... Come back to me..." She finally concluded, before she fell truly limp in everyone's arms. Her sobs slowly fell silent as she cried herself into unconsciousness.

~4 Hours Later~

Amity awoke laying on the couch of The Owl house. The last few hours she slept hadn't been very restful... Yet she felt calmer. Her mind hadn't slept, only her body. She had come to terms with all she had learned. After all, when you are asleep, your mind is able to work faster, since it doesn't need to work as hard to keep you awake, to move, or do anything else.

Luz was gone, for now. And Amity had to accept that. All that she could do was thank Luz for what she did, and move on. To use the time Luz gave them to come up with a plan, and to defeat Belos once and for all.

Amity looked around the room, and was glad to find that she was not alone. Everyone was still there. As she turned into their conversations, they seemed to be reminiscing about the memories they shared with Luz. Amity listened as everyone laughed together about the wild things she would do. Amity's attitude quickly soured as she realized what this felt like.

This felt like a Funeral.

Amity sat up, looking at everyone. "Stop. Don't do that." She said, realizing her voice sounded raw and sore. She cleared her throat and looked at them all. "Stop acting like we will never see her again. Like she is really gone."

Eda opened her mouth to say something, but Amity raised a hand to stop her. "I know. We can't find Luz right now. But we will. One day. But instead of acting like she is gone, we should instead do what she asked. Let's start working. Let's kill Belos." She said, her raw voice filled with venom and hatred as she spat the Emperor's name out, like it tasted rotten in her mouth.

Wide eyes all looked at her, then to each other. Everyone slowly came to realize that Amity was right. They nodded, and everyone stood, gathering their things. Books, papers, pencils, anything they could use to help brainstorm.

"First things first..." Lilith said, looking around the room "What day is it..." She asked.

Everyone seemed to be puzzled at how to answer that, as none of them knew. Suddenly, Gus exclaimed a soft "Oh!" And summoned his scroll, turning it to face the room. "If all of us are reverted back to how we were at whatever date Luz chose, then so should all our belongings."

Sure enough, his scroll displayed the date right on top of it. However, most faces in the room simply donned a confused expression. How was this day Luz's "first mistake" as she had stated in her video. Amity hadn't even known about Luz yet. Only Eda, King, and Hooty seemed to understand. The former letting out a choked sob.

"Is that really what Luz thought? Is that how little she thinks of herself?! That this is what her 'first mistake' was?! Really?!" Eda asked, her voice shaking in anger, and sorrow. "You are a damn fool Luz, if you really think of yourself this negatively. A complete moron."

"What? What is it?" Willow asked in confusion, everyone nodding along at her question.

"..."

Eda didn't respond, only brought her hands to her face, and began to softly cry. King was the one that stood, looking at everyone, his expression sad.

"Today..." He cleared his throat, taking a deep breath, then stealing his nerves. He looked down at the ground, then turned his head to the front door. Almost as if he was expecting someone to walk through it. "This was the day Eda, Hooty and I met Luz... And if her spell brings time to the point of her first mistake... Then I think it's pretty clear what Eda means..."

"Today was when Luz first arrived in the Demon realm. The day she became a part of our lives."
