The camera opened up back on Chris in the mess hall, just the same as it had ended the episode prior. "Welcome back to Total Drama! Battles of the Bs." He announced, causing the campers to look at him.
"Chris… What do you mean back?" Sky asked, speaking on behalf of most of the beauties and a few of the brawns. Scarlett rolled her eyes at the question,
"It's obviously a two-parter," Topher fired back, shaking his head. "Have you ever watched the show," he added, causing Sky to narrow her eyes at him and frown.
"Anyways, last time, our campers entered the island and just got accustomed to each other. With alliances and friendships and rivalries being brought back up, we'll just have to see what will go down as the campers face their first challenge in this episode."
The camera opens up to a familiar site of the island. Rushing through the dock, and foliage it stops at a random clearing where DJ could be seen
Dear Mom and Dad, I'm doing fine.
He's shown meditating with a flock of birds resting on him, and squirrels and other creatures surrounding him. Feeling a disturbance, he opened his eyes to see a mutant flying fish latched onto his nose, causing him to scream and run out of frame. Scarlett witnessing this, made a note in a journal of hers before the camera zoomed away.
You guys are on my mind,
The camera fell onto a lake in the middle of the island. Paddling on a boat, Dakota and Sam are seen chatting towards each other. A dark shadow appeared underneath their boat, and a tentacle emerged from the water, sending the two lovers flying off in a bout of screams.
You asked me what I wanted to be, and now I think the answer is clear to see,
The camera continued on its journey to the beach where a little gym area could be seen. Jo was seen doing pull-ups on some monkey bars, while Eva was squatting with barbels. Every now and then, Eva could be seen attempting to make some conversation with Jo, but Jo simply ignored her. Noah, witnessing this interaction face-palmed, clearly seeing wireless earphones in the jockette's ears.
I wanna be famous
The next scene shown was inside the mess hall. Heather was cooking up some sort of dish, and took a spoonful and tried it. Immediately overwhelmed by the taste, she spat it all out onto an unfortunate LeShawna who just walked in through the doors. Heather looked at her, mouth opened as LeShawna glared her down, doing a quick 180.
I wanna live close to the sun,
LeShawna started walking towards the restrooms, past the three cabins, as the camera took a pitstop inside one of them. Duncan was shown carving something on the wall of the cabin, while Rodney was asleep in his bed. Rodney fell out of the bed, startling Duncan who threw his knife an inch away from his face. Rodney simply reached out and held the knife as if it was the hand of some girl. Duncan sighed, as the camera went back out through the window, catching a glimpse of his carving. A heart with the initials D + C.
Well pack your bags, cause I've already won,
The camera next came to some sort of building setup for a game show. On the stage, Sky and Lightning were each doing tricks, Sky jumped into the splits, while Lightning fell into a death drop. Lindsey, who was watching from the judging stand, clapped her hands excitedly and held up a sign that read '10'.
Everything to prove, nothing in my way,
The next area shown was just behind the stadium where trees towered above another circular arena. This had two pedestals with Courtney battling Topher on the other, whacking at each other with foam sticks. Jasmine and Shawn watched from the tree nearby, laughing at Topher as he got knocked off and clutched at his face in mercy.
I'll get there one day,
Zooming back down, through a hole in that circular area, was a cave system where the next few contestants could be found. Cameron was hanging onto B, petrified as B used BEV to light up the cave system. The two boys found a crystal mine filled with crystals and were about to cheer with joy until they realised they were synthetic. Sugar on the other hand darted past them and tried plucking them out causing the cave system to shake and the boys to look at each with fear.
Cause I wanna be famous,
The final area shown was inside the mess hall. Anne Maria sat between Justin and Alejandro, both of whom were competing with each other for her approval. The woman gushed at both of their flirts before she noticed the time and sprayed her hairspray all over the table, causing the two boys to burst into a coughing fit. Anne Maria, now unimpressed, rolled her eyes and walked away leaving the two to splutter away.
As the harmonies played, all the contestants could be seen doing a variety of tricks and competing in different ways. Lindsey gave a model walk down the runway, LeShawna danced away, Scarlett buzzed to answer a question, B was seen tweaking at some sort of go-kart, Jo was seen throwing a javelin and Rodney was shown lifting rocks for Heather to examine the underneath of. The day shifted to night as the twenty-four campers all whistled along as Chris and Chef did a tap routine by the campfire.
As the camera cuts away, Chris quickly heads out of the mess hall, leaving the campers to their own devices. The three teams were quickly thrust into conversation, about strategy or forming friendships.
"Lindsey, a word please," Leshawna called out, beckoning the blonde towards her.
"Yes, LeShawna?"
"Now I gotta get this straight with you. Alejandro has got to be the first to go on our team, right?"
Lindsey burst into a flurry of nods, causing her friend to grin at her. "Alejandro has gotten too far before, and needs to be stopped,"
The aforementioned villain on the other hand was sitting cockily next to Anne Maria, wooing her with words of praise. "Ay mi amor, it's evident how you're on the beauty team. Some of these other girls can't compare to your looks," He told the Jersey girl, causing her to smirk.
"Damn right a girl get appreciated for her bangin' looks this time around,"
"Why Anne Maria, I'm sure a girl like you gets appreciation," Justin rebutted, noticing the Spaniard's attempt at wooing her. "I'd be lucky to walk around with a girl like you in my arms."
Anne Maria flashed a grin at the gorgeous boy next to her, whereas Alejandro glared at him.
—
"Alejandro has had his fun," Justin stated, relaxing his hands behind his head. "But now, it's my time to show these new girls what a small bit of the Justin experience can do,"
—
"This Justin, I haven't had the misfortune of competing with him before," Alejandro said, narrowing his eyes. "But he's… he's a second-rate me. No wonder I was cast in World Tour instead of him."
—
"It's about time ya' girl gets the attention she deserves," Anne Maria boasted, poofing her hair.
—
Dakota looked bored in between them, as Sugar yapped on about one of the pageants she had won on the break between this season and hers. Dakota, uninterested, looked longingly at Sam. She sighed, focusing her attention back towards Sugar, and gave her a soft smile, attempting to act interested.
—
"Off the bat, I'm not exactly the one with the strongest reputation on this team," Dakota confessed, before looking more seriously at the confessional. "But this time, I need to make sure I do everything it takes to get back to working with Sam. I need to get some allies, cause between you and me, Anne Maria isn't exactly what I would call an ally."
—
Topher giddily examined his team. "It looks like LeShawna and Lindsey are conspiring while Justin competes for Anne Maria's hand against Alejandro. Sugar and Dakota are forming a bond in the eyes of the other teams, but thanks to my insider's knowledge, I can tell you that Dakota is anything but involved in this conversation."
His outburst caught the attention of the other two teams, who looked at him confused. Scarlett grinned, mentally noting down the state of the beauty team. Alejandro facepalmed at him, whereas LeShawna smacked the wannabe host over the back of the head.
Heather looked at the interaction, with a soft smile on her face. She was quickly warped back to reality by Scarlett nudging her leg, grabbing her attention. She quickly did the same to Noah and Courtney, causing them all to look at her with a mixture of annoyance and intrigue. She gestured to an area nearer to a corner of the mess hall seemingly to get more privacy from the rest of the team, which, begrudgingly, the campers from the original cast followed her to.
"What is it Scarlett," Heather asked, representing one of the more annoyed campers.
"Well, I'm sure you can all figure out that on this team, we're more of the villains," She stated, causing Courtney and Noah to object but they were quickly shushed by Heather raising her finger to them.
"Go on,"
"It is what it is. Those four are sure to get on off the bat, leaving us at a clear disadvantage unless we work together."
"I don't see how this will help," Courtney said, crossing her arms.
"May I remind you a certain Sam was covered in leeches due to you," Scarlett prompted, shutting the CIT right up.
"We'll see," Heather finished, promptly making her way back to the bench. Scarlett nodded, satisfied, making her way back, as did Courtney. Noah was left with his own thoughts, as he processed the alliance offer.
—
"It's a lot to think about," Noah said slowly, still thinking about the interaction. "This time around though, I need to put my game first, and this could be a good way to survive a couple of eliminations… but Scarlett and Heather. Neither of them can be trusted."
—
"Scarlett's got something coming if she thinks she's not the first camper gone this time around," Shawn said, pointedly. "It's the brains team, most of them have had to have watched our season, and I know the guys will be on my side to get her out.
—
The rest of the brains team were talking amongst themselves, much less about strategy.
"I didn't know you guys gamed that much," Sam said, causing B to flash a thumbs up and Shawn to laugh, nodding.
"I play a ton of zombie games," Shawn stated as if it was obvious. "It's not the real thing but it's good enough practice."
"I can't say I can share the same passion," Cameron confessed dejectedly. "My mom never let me around video games, she said they were bad for my eyes."
"B has been working on developing his own video games," BEV announced, while B grinned. "Perhaps you guys could test it."
"That sounds awesome B… or… uh… Bev?" Sam asked, pausing. B smiled, and pointed at both his watch and him, before shrugging.
"Either is fine Sam," BEV confirmed.
"And for practical applications, I'll start training you guys for the apocalypse," Shawn added, grinning. "I'll have you guys fit for taking zombies on in no time."
—
"B feels great to be having these friendships form this time around," BEV stated for the silent genius. "It's changing his trajectory already."
—
"Scarlett is honestly kinda right to be worrying," Courtney lamented. "Looking at the other Bats, they're already a tight group."
—
The Brawny Bisons were a lot more rough and rowdy with each other but seemed to be unified for the moment. Well for that moment at least.
"Well Bisons," Jo announced, standing up. "We need a captain and I see it right to appoint myself as the lead."
"Woah, who died and made you queen," Duncan clapped back, being supported with nods from Lightning and Eva.
"Sha-Lightning should be leader if anything," the jock cried out, jumping up onto his seat, and flexing causing Sky to giggle.
"Uhm, news flash Brightning," Jo challenged, smirking at him. "You were first out on the villains."
"And weren't you second out," Jasmine asked innocently, wiping the smirk clean off the jockette's face. DJ laughed at this, smiling at the girl.
"What about you, my fair maiden," Rodney proposed, creeping Jasmine out,
"Woah buckaroo, I'm taken," Jasmine quickly said, looking at Shawn before looking back at her team.
"Why do we even need a leader?" Sky asked, curiously. "Our team is stacked and we'll just work like that. A team!"
"That's cute, but when have teams ever worked without a leader," Jo quipped back. Seeing the looks on all her teammates' faces, she grimaced and sat back down. "Fine, we'll put a pin in this conversation for right now."
—
"Our team has what it takes to make it all the way to the merge without losing anyone," Sky assured. "Only if we can work together as a team."
—
"I'm going to be driven insane by this team," Eva said blankly.
—
The campers continued to talk amongst themselves as an airhorn rang out, causing the more timid campers to jump. "Attention campers. Please make your way to the front of the cabins."
"Leave it to McClean to barely give us a chance," Duncan growled, leaving with his team first. The other two teams quickly followed, giving a chance for some of the friends who were placed on opposing teams to catch up.
Jasmine fell into stride with Shawn at the front of the pack, who gave her a soft smile as they linked arms. "All good with your team?" Jasmine asked him, worried for her boyfriend.
"Scarlett," He responded blatantly, causing her to roll her eyes.
"The way she got to come back," Jasmine added. "I would've much preferred Sammy or even Ella. Fuck, I would've even taken Amy!"
"You woulda knocked some sense into her at least."
"Are you going to manage okay with her?"
"I'd say so. I'd say she's going to be the first gone. I'm close with the guys and that's half the team anyways."
"That's a relief anyway. My team is a real piece of work."
Shawn raised an eyebrow at her, with a glint in his eyes. "How so?"
"Well, you have Jo claiming to be leader. Lightning, Eva and Duncan challenging her. DJ and Sky playing mediators, and Rodney being obsessive."
"I'm sure you'll find a companion in DJ. And we both know Sky's a good girl. You have them at least."
Jasmine responded with a kiss on his cheeks. "We'll be fine, and once we merge we'll be unstoppable."
More in the middle of the pack, Alejandro and Justin were still competing for Anne Maria's trust. Heather, noticing them, rolled her eyes, falling back to talk to the Team Victory trio.
"Man, I don't know what to do," DJ complained to the girls about his team dynamic, with Lindsey agreeing.
"It's the same for us."
"Half of our team has their head stuck up their asses," LeShawna stated, before narrowing her eyes, "And speaking of asses."
Heather sighed, expecting as much, although it didn't take the sting away. She took a deep breath in before speaking. "Hey guys, what are we talking about?"
LeShawna raised an eyebrow at her, cautious of trusting her rival. Lindsey shared the sentiment, whereas DJ, the nicest of the group, was a little more ready to start up a conversation with the girl.
"Just our teams, how's your team Heather?"
Heather smiled, turning to face the group. "A bunch of brainless idiots su-" She began, before realising spit was flying everywhere. She hadn't even noticed her salivating before, adding up to the nerves. But as Leshawna wiped spit away from her face, rage in her face, she knew she was fucked.
"LeShawna I.." She sprayed still, covering her mouth as the girl raised a hand to silence her.
"You bitch."
Noticing the sight of her teammate, Scarlett scoffed, turning to her Butterfly target.
"Sugar."
"Awh what do you want?"
"We both don't have the best reputations, and our teams are at quite a physical disadvantage."
"Get on with girl!"
"What I'm saying is for us to work together to bring down the Bisons."
Sugar grinned at the girl, sticking out her hand. "I'm in." Scarlett looked at the girl's hand with disgust, before swiftly moving away, cautious of the implications their interaction would have if they were spotted.
The walk wasn't a far one as the campers quickly realised there were only two cabins for the three teams. Chris and Chef stood in front of them, and before the campers could bombard them with questions, they quickly started moving towards the back of the mess hall.
"Now campers, save your questions. Yes, there are only two cabins. We decided to bring back the McClean Spa Hotel which is located behind the mess hall." Chris explained, showing it off as they passed. He paused and turned to face the cabins as a starting line was in front of them now.
"As for your first challenge? Nothing better than a foot race around the island."
—
"This will be an easy win for the Bisons," Jo boasted in the confessional. "Spa hotel here we come!"
—
"-with a twist."
—
"Well shit."
—
"As you can tell, this challenge would be a little too one-sided in favour of a certain team. So the race is split into three parts. An old-fashioned foot race for the first half, while the next two parts will have a beauty-centric topic, and a brain-centric topic."
Cameron thought silently to himself how beauty or brains could be incorporated into something like a race. It was clear he wasn't the only one, as Lindsey vocalised her thoughts.
"Uhm.. how are we supposed to race but… pretty?"
"You'll have to see my dear Lindsey," Chris answered with a smirk. "You'll have an hour to complete this challenge. The team with the most campers back here will win, and the team with the least will have to vote someone out in what I like to call the Shoot of Shame."
"And in case of a tie?" Noah asked, narrowing his eyes at the host.
"As I was getting to before I was interrupted," Chris continued, glaring at the schemer. "In case of a tie, the team who had their last member cross the line will be sent home. Any more questions?" Dakota raised her hand to ask something, as did Jasmine and Shawn. "No? Well, your hour starts now! Go!"
As soon as the okay was given, Lightning started bolting it down the track. Seeing this Jo cried out, chasing him as the other campers Bisons paused for a moment.
"Well, besides those two, I think we should split up into groups of two. At least then we'll have a hand in the other parts." Sky said, although her timidity seemed as if she was asking rather than commanding.
"I support that," Jasmine said, placing a hand on her teammate's shoulder. Sky gave a soft smile to her.
—
"These are some legends here," Sky defended. "But Jasmine and me, we're not to be underestimated."
—
Duncan turned to DJ, but Eva had grabbed him and started bolting already. Sky and Jasmine looked at each other, before shrugging and taking off too. Duncan sighed and looked at Rodney.
"Well dude, guess we're doing this."
"Yessir," Rodney said, as the last of the Bisons took off.
The other two teams were huddled too, but they had very different strategies.
"Now guys, I think we should all stick together. Or at least go in large enough groups," LeShawna stated, taking on the leader role in her team. Sugar, however, had a problem with this.
"Why are you calling the shots?" She accused, causing the girl to glare back at her.
"Do you have a problem with the plan?"
"No.. but-"
"Then it's settled."
"Who's with who?" Dakota asked, wanting to take this opportunity to make friends.
"Girl I don't know. We gotta make it quick though. Uhh…" Lindsey approached LeShawna and whispered something into her ear. LeShawna, while mad at it, sighed and continued. "Justin, Topher and Sugar. You're with me. Anne Maria, Dakota and Alejandro, go with Lindsey."
"Yes ma'am," Alejandro said, taking off with his group. They all followed, albeit Anne Maria with her complaints about running.
—
"I'm trying to play smarter this time," Lindsey confessed. "I know Alejandro won't get through my skin, Dakota seems like she needs a friend and I'm sure Alejandro can manage Anne Maria. The other beauties are a bit of work, but I know LeShawna can whip them up into shape."
—
"Those two girls are going to pay for giving up a potential ally to Alejandro," Justin stated, glaring at the camera. "I guess I'll have to work with Topher for the moment."
—
LeShawna sighed, looking at the three bored faces in front of her. "Let's go people, we have a challenge to win."
The brains took much more of a smarter approach to the challenge. "Listen up guys. We only get points per person that finishes. Work separately, and get through it on your own." Shawn said, surprised by Scarlett nodding in agreement.
"It makes the most sense. Allocate twenty minutes per section, although if there is a brainy element, we should manage that in less time." She said, taking off. Shawn quickly followed, as did Heather and Courtney. The other four were less passionate than them but didn't want to be the cause of defeat so they took off too.
—
"Man, I was hoping to talk to Dakota. Shawn is cool and all, but this competitive mode he has isn't fun." Sam complained in the confessional. "Although, if we're all separated… no one will notice if I find her."
—
Lightning & Jo: 0:01
Lightning was making easy work of the foot race, his two feet carrying him through every step he took.
"BRIGHTENING!" A voice rang out, causing Lightning to pause for a moment.
"Sha-What?"
Jo caught up to him and passed him, sticking her tongue out back at him. Lightning gasped, quickly picking up the pace behind him.
"Sha-Jo. Lightning admires your speed."
Jo smiled at his approval before realising he had overtaken her and jolted back to catch up again.
"GET BACK HERE!"
—
"Lightning didn't not mean what he said," He said, before thinking if that even made sense. "Sha-Lightning's confused now. At least I'm ahead."
—
Sky & Jasmine: 0:04
Not far behind them were Sky and Jasmine, while running fast, still taking the time to catch up.
"Sky, I'm gonna address the elephant in the room," Jasmine said, facing the girl. "Where have ya been? I feel like I lost all contact with ya' after the season ended."
Sky sighed, slowing down to a stop and looking at the other girl. Jasmine noticing also paused but was still conscious of the fact a challenge was proceeding.
"Truth be told Jasmine… I was embarrassed. I was runner-up but through what, drama with Dave being my only memorable moment. Thousands of people saying I should kill myself because of what I had done."
Jasmine's eyes widened at the confession. While she dealt with a small bit of racism, it was still minute as people perceived her in a more positive light.
"Sky, I'm so sor-"
"I just didn't think anyone on the cast even liked me after that. Ella was always on Dave's side and I just wasn't sure anyone else could come to terms with who I was. I dove into my training and forgot about the show, till I was invited back."
"Well Sky, you have me now."
Sky wiped a tear away from her eye, smiling at the girl. "Now come on, we have a race to win."
—
"I had no idea Sky had dealt with all that off the show," Jasmine said, honestly alarmed. "I guess Shawn was right, Sky is a good girl who doesn't deserve all this."
—
Eva & DJ: 0:06
Eva and DJ had watched the two other brawns pass, neither of them that upset because they were on the same team. DJ did have to calm Eva down, which she quickly realised would be vital for her time here.
"I'll tell you what DJ," Eva roared, startling the gentle giant as they had been running in silence for the most part.
"ARGH!"
"Don't get your panties in a twist. Based on your reaction, I'd say my offer will benefit the both of us."
"What is it Eva?"
"Well. Simple. I toughen you up, you keep me calm."
"Alright Eva. Let's try it." DJ subsided, catching a smile on Eva's face.
—
"Listen. I don't want to do this." DJ simply said in the confessional. "Toughing up with Chef on Action made me quit. But, I also don't want to die, and refusing Eva and dying… They look like they go hand in hand."
—
"Move it or lose it people," Courtney yelled, blazing past the two of them, with a few of the other brains close on her trail. Shawn and Scarlett quickly passed the two of them as well, infuriating Eva.
"Sorry guys," Heather cried out from behind, but while she was too focused on what she was going to say, she didn't realise she went barrelling into Eva, sending the girl flying into a patch of mud.
"HEATHER," She screeched out, ready to charge, while DJ tried her best to hold her at bay. Heather could only look at the girl with her jaw almost on the floor.
"Heather, I don't know what strategy this is. pissing everyone off, but Eva's not the girl." DJ said through his gritted teeth as he knew Eva would crush the villain. "Now run."
Heather complied, continuing her race, guilt racked through her body while DJ tried to act out his first lesson at calming Eva.
Alejandro, Anne Maria, Dakota & Lindsey: 0:10
Not that far behind them again were half of the beauty team. It turns out Lindsey was right with her choice, as she, Alejandro and Dakota were able to keep up a good pace. Even Anne Maria put aside her complaints and ran alongside them.
—
"Ya girl isn't going to let a little bit of running stand between her and a million bucks," the Jersey girl said in the confessional, spraying her hair.
—
Dakota was grateful to be able to talk to Lindsey in her human form and found a lot in common with the blonde. Alejandro himself also took this opportunity to continue to butter up Anne Maria, while also attempting the same with Dakota, but Lindsey was not allowing it.
—
"Heather was telling me about this Commander Lindsey," Alejandro spoke slowly. "I didn't take her seriously but seeing her in person is much more terrifying. She'll ruin my plans."
—
Justin, LeShawna, Sugar & Topher: 0:16
The other half of team beauty was struggling a lot more. With all three of her teammates refusing to run, LeShawna was left more and more annoyed. She ended up abandoning the three, taking off herself.
As soon as she was out of earshot, Sugar spoke to the two boys.
"Listen up y'all. LeShawna and Lindsey are running this game, and it ain't good for us. I say we knock 'em out."
"I'm with Sugar," Justin added. "They have control of our team, and it's for the worse."
Topher shrugged.
—
"Anything for screen time."
—
Duncan & Rodney: 0:19
The last duo from the brawns team were lightly jogging, not that worried about the challenge. The two of them more fit the strength category than the speed, and they were making light conversation.
"Rodney? Is there any reason you can't talk to girls," Duncan asked the other boy, in a rather accusatory tone.
"I.. uhh.. I guess I just don't have that much experience. I have five brothers, and Ma' died when I was young."
Duncan, similarly to Jasmine, was a bit alarmed at hearing this confessional from the other boy, but quickly gathered himself.
"Tell you what kid, while we're here I'll give you a hand. Hopefully that'll give you some confidence."
Rodney smiled back at the delinquent, as they continued to jog alone.
B, Cameron, Noah & Sam: 0:21
As for the other brains? They were making their way to the halfway mark, slowly but surely. B was in front at a light jog, with Cameron heaving behind him a distance away. Sam and Noah however chose to walk, both feeling secure and not wanting to over-exert themselves early on.
Jo & Lightning: 0:22
At the front of the pack, Jo and Lightning had reached the halfway mark, and their faces paled realising what they'd have to do.
"HIGH HEELS? MCLEAN," Jo roared out into existence, alerting every camper to what their second task would be.
Lindsey squealed with joy, grabbing Dakota's hand and running faster than anything she had ever done before. "SHOES!" The blonde rushed past Sky and Jasmine, both of them bewildered at what had just passed them. Dakota, albeit just as excited, was also very nervous regarding Lindsey's speed.
By the time Lightning and Jo had finished arguing about their situation, Lindsey had placed herself in a pair of heels, and was strutting down the next part of the track with ease. Seeing her competency, Jo strapped on a pair herself and took the first step immediately to go crashing into the floor.
"Good luck guys," Dakota said sheepishly, easily making her way through the section and attempting to catch up with Lindsey.
—
"So much for sticking together," Dakota said, rolling her eyes.
—
Lightning was too busy laughing at Jo to notice Jasmine and Sky catch up. Jo was yelling at him, although she was unable to get her footing.
"Uhm, Lightning we're still in a competition," Sky commented, helping Jo up.
"SHA-RIGHT!" He exclaimed, strapping on a pair of heels and immediately running across the track leaving the girls shocked.
"How the fuck did he do that," Jasmine commented, speaking for the three.
"Both of you. MOVE! Catch up to him," Jo commanded, as Sky let her go causing her to crash back down. As the two Pahkitew girls put on their heels, it was clear one was struggling a lot more as Jasmine took slow wobbly steps. Sky was a little more graceful, speed-walking to catch up to the boy. She looked back to Jo who was gesturing her to keep going, and Jasmine who gave her a determined nod.
—
"I'm tall enough with the heels," Jasmine explained. "So it's fair enough that I don't know how to walk in 'em. But, crikey, Lightning in those heels runs faster than crocs after their prey."
—
"Coach made us run in heels to keep our balance up," Lightning expanded in the confession. "Helped open the minds, and straighten our strut."
—
Alejandro, Anne Maria, Courtney, DJ, Eva, Heather, Scarlett & Shawn: 0:27
Courtney, Scarlett, Shawn and Heather were the next four to pull up to the halfway mark, followed swiftly by Alejandro, Anne Maria, Eva and DJ. Eva immediately stormed up to Heather again, with DJ once again, struggling to detain her. Alejandro jumped in, while not on the same team as her, worried for his partner for the most part. Heather, fear flashed all over her face, rapidly stepped into a pair of heels and started getting as far as she could. Courtney and Scarlett shared the sentiment as they strapped up too, and followed the girl across.
"Eva, down girl!" DJ exclaimed, as Anne Maria laughed silently to herself, placing a pair of heels on too, with Shawn as well. Shawn was struggling a little more, but was able to take baby steps closer where he saw Jasmine and Jo up ahead.
Alejandro stopped holding Eva back, as he also put on a pair of heels. He immediately started teetering and quickly came up with an idea, as Anne Maria crossed her arms waiting for him.
Alejandro fell forwards, hoisting himself up on his hand and started making his way to the girl on his hands.
"Shall we," He asked, smiling up at the girl who was impressed with his quick thinking.
"You clever devil."
"Is that even allowed ?" Rodney asked out loud, as he pulled up with Duncan next. A panting LeShawna and B were right behind them. LeShawna, not even paying attention to them and putting on heels and taking off. B took a small bit of time, pulling out a file from his hat and started shaving off the heel of the shoe, quickly leaving him with two flat shoes which he put on and continued jogging.
"Well Rodney, the only rule is that the shoes have to be on your feet, so Alejandro's tactic is valid," Chris's voice blared out from a speaker near that station. "And while I'm here, this is officially your 30-minute mark. With only half the time left, the Brawny Bisons have six members at the heel track, and two at the brain maze. The Beautiful Butterflies have three members on the foot race, three at the heel track and two at the brain maze whereas the Brainy Bats have five members at the heel track, with three left on the foot race."
Noah took in the announcement, and shrugged, still going at his own pace. He knew with Scarlett's alliance, and with the villain herself, he was at no risk of going home. Sam on the other hand picked up the pace a small bit, hearing the announcement scared of what either Shawn or Scarlett would do if they knew it was him keeping the team down. Cameron though… He was simply passed out three-quarters of the way through the foot race.
—
"Maybe it wasn't my smartest idea to run that hard immediately," Cameron commented sheepishly in the confessional.
—
Justin, Sugar & Topher: 0:33
As for the beauties left on the field… The three were slowly walking, more discussing strategy than anything.
"I'd say we get rid of LeShawna," Topher said. "She's the boss of the team."
"Well it was that darn Lindsey that split us up like this," Sugar clapped back.
"I've seen Lindsey at her full potential in a leadership role. She'll crack soon so I'd say keep her. It's Alejandro we need to go." Justin claimed, leaving the three at a stalemate.
—
"Those two boys don't know what's coming," Sugar argued in the confessional. "When Lindsey is gone, I'll be the most beautiful. Have you seen the others? Dakotazoid? Tan in a Can? And I have a bigger booty than LeShawna."
—
Dakota, Lightning, Lindsey & Sky: 0:35
As Chris mentioned, Dakota, Sky, Lightning and Lindsey all looked worried as they looked at a ladder leading down to a mine. On a small workbench next to the entrance, laid maps, torches as well as boots to change into which all four campers had done instantly.
"When it said maze, I didn't think it'd take place in the mines." Dakota muttered, as Lindsey grabbed some equipment and gestured at her to follow.
"Jasmine is not going to like this," Sky also muttered, as she turned to Lightning who had disappeared. "This boy!" She exclaimed, jolting down into the mine to follow him.
"LIGHTNING," She called out, wandering around in the dark, flashing around for him. She quickly found him, looking very confused at the first fork in the path.
"Lightning you can't keep running off," Sky sighed, catching up to him.
Lightning blushed slightly, "Lightning's sha-sorry. Pops told me to always focus on the competition."
"I admire that Lightning. But at the end of the day, we're a team and we have to work together. Now imagine what you'd do if you were alone." Sky laughed, looking at the map and deciphering the right direction as right. "By the way, where are Lindsey and Dakota."
"Oh! They went sha-left!" Lightning exclaimed, before adding two and two together. "We're going to win!"
"Let's go!"
Meanwhile, Lindsey was studying the map carefully while Dakota looked around the mine, not exactly having the fondest memories of it. "Lindsey, are you sure we're going the right way?"
"Uhh, to be honest. No."
Dakota facepalmed, having a look at the map before realising she had no idea where they were or how to read it.
"If only Sam was here."
The boy in question had just reached the beauty section of the race. He sighed in relief, seeing six pairs of shoes left meaning he wasn't last here for his team. He put on a pair, and took a step forward only to immediately crash to the floor.
—
"How do the girls in my games FIGHT in these wicked things," Sam complained. "Maybe I should've let Dakota beautify me."
—
Jasmine, Jo & Shawn: 0:37
As for the others on the heel track, Jo and Jasmine had opted for a crawling technique. Shawn who was teetering behind them, decided to adapt their technique and the trio was making a lot more progress than they were before them, taking the time to catch up.
"Babe, this is harder than I expected," Shawn commented, causing Jasmine to laugh.
"One thing I didn't think I'd have to practise for Total Drama was wearing high heels."
"They suit you though!"
"Awh Shawn, you're too sweet."
"Kill me now."
"What was that Jo," Jasmine asked her teammate.
"Take that stiletto. And put it through my skull."
Alejandro, Anne Maria & LeShawna: 0:39
Further ahead was LeShawna, who had caught up to Alejandro and Anne Maria. While she was confused about where the other half of their group was, she pushed it aside and was more focused on finishing. "Alejandro?"
"Yes, my queen?"
"Shut the fuck up. I ain't falling for that this time around, and you shouldn't either Anne Maria."
"Someone's jealous," Anne Maria snickered.
LeShawna rolled her eyes, continuing with her question. "Anyways, did Heather say anything to you about a strategy?"
"Not that I can recall? Why? Did she do something?"
"Just spit on me," LeShawna answered, causing the Spaniard to fully fall over. LeShawna noticed, sighed and pulled him back up onto his feet, slinging one of his arms around her and the other around Anne Maria.
"Girl what?" Anne Maria asked, confused.
"Just keep going," LeShawna commanded with a sigh, as the two women were near enough to the next stage. Alejandro was left deep in his thoughts, as he let himself get carried, or more accurately, dragged by the two.
—
"Heather may be mean but she isn't cruel," Alejandro rationalised in the confessional. "There's no reason she would spit on LeShawna. I need to figure out what's wrong with her."
—
Courtney, Heather & Scarlett: 0:40
A small bit further ahead, Scarlett, Heather and Courtney all had arrived at the brains section, a wicked smile on Scarlett's face.
"Ladies, I think we stick together now."
Courtney curtly nodded, while Heather held a little more apprehension. "Why now?"
"I'm certain between the three of us, this maze will be easy and it'll tot up three points for the Bats instantly."
Courtney grabbed a map, tossing a flashlight to Heather. She paused for a minute, before picking up another flashlight and handing the map to Scarlett.
"Here, I think you'll be better at this than I would," She admitted, causing Heather to raise a brow. Scarlett, startled, quickly gained her composure before continuing.
"Right, Courtney, light up the front. Heather, light on the map."
The three girls dove into the mine, easily finding the right path and working their way through the last quarter of the race.
—
"How… uncharacteristic of her," Scarlett commented, jotting something down in a notebook she had. "These new character dynamics are intriguing, and by staying on top of them, I'm sure to pull ahead."
—
"Listen. I was a CIT," Courtney said softly. "And we all saw how well that worked out for me. It won't hurt letting someone else take the reins."
—
Alejandro, Anne Maria, B & LeShawna: 0:41
B was still flying solo, swiftly making his way to the start of the brains section not long after the girls had gone in. He found LeShawna, Alejandro and Anne Maria all sitting down for a moment, rubbing at their feet, and putting on specialised boots for the mine.
"Hey B," Anne Maria called out with a smile, waving the boy over.
"Hello Anne Maria," BEV answered back, as the techy boy made his way over to three Butterflies, also changing out his shoes.
"Ay B. Would you say it'd be a good idea for us four to stick together?" Alejandro asked, a fake smile plastered on his face, causing B to shudder.
"Unafformative Alejandro. Three Butterflies and one Bat are not good odds in B's case." BEV fired back, as B gave them an apologetic smile, quickly descending into the mines.
"It was worth a shot," LeShawna replied, as the boy disappeared. "Now let's get moving, I'm not exactly the most confident about the three I left behind, or the two ahead of us."
—
"That's one disadvantage to coming back a third time," Alejandro said, with a scowl on his face. "Everyone already knows my strategy. Dios Mio, maybe I need to rethink things."
—
"B is still not fully recovered from Scott's trickery and his early elimination last time," BEV spoke once again. "It was quite traumatic."
—
Rodney & Duncan: 0:43
While B had had no trouble with the beauty section, Rodney and Duncan were barely able to take a step before crashing. Similar to Eva and DJ, who had merged with them into a group of four.
"Maybe singing wasn't so bad," Duncan said, cursing as he hit the floor again.
"Girls." Rodney simply added, quickly joining him on the floor.
"Wait… Chris did say all we had to do was wear these damned things on our feet."
"Duncan, I can't do a handstand," Eva said bluntly, looking towards DJ who nodded in agreement.
"No, don't be stupid." Duncan deadpanned, crawling forward on his knees keeping his feet above the ground. He started galloping forwards, and while a sight for sore eyes, was a better crawling strategy than Shawn, Jasmine or Jo had.
Rodney couldn't help but laugh, joining the other boy in his trot, the two of them quickly making ground. DJ shrugged and followed and looked back towards Eva who rolled her eyes.
"Fuck this show," She cursed, joining the other three boys.
—
"You know, being on this team isn't so bad," Rodney said happily in his confessional. "Other than Sky and Jasmine, I'm at least able to talk to everyone else straight."
—
The four Bisons had quickly caught up to the aforementioned trio, who adapted their strategy and all seven of them landed in a pile at the brain checkpoint, giggling like madmen and women.
"That was so stupid, how did it work," Jo asked.
"Beats me," Duncan answered. "But it did, and we're here now."
"ATTENTION CAMPERS. THIS IS YOUR FIFTEEN-MINUTE WARNING. CURRENTLY, NO ONE HAS MADE IT YET." Chris's voice blared through the island.
"Quick! What is this brain part," DJ rushed, as Jasmine paled seeing what was ahead of them. Everyone else was more preoccupied with getting rid of the heels.
"No…"
"Babe." Shawn attempted to cool her nerves, but it didn't work as the tall Australian had curled up into a ball.
"Who can read a map?" Jo asked as the Bisons all replied with a shrug. She looked towards the Australian on the floor, in a foetal position and cursed. "Well, we're fucked."
"Rodney, DJ, Jo and Duncan." Eva barked out. "You guys go, I'll snap her out of this."
"No!" DJ fired back instantly, surprising Eva. The boy whispered to the girl. "She doesn't need tough love, she needs support. You go instead of me."
Duncan turned to Rodney and whispered towards him too. "Dude, can you read a map?"
"I... uh... I… love…"
"Yes or no, quick."
Rodney nodded his head, and that settled it for Duncan. He grabbed the equipment necessary and pulled the boy into the mine. Instantly, Rodney snapped back straight, studying the map.
"We take a right first,"
"COME ON," Duncan roared out, prompting Jo and Eva to follow the two into the mine. Eva gave a last look back at DJ, who gave her a thumbs up before focusing on a panic-stricken Jasmine on the floor. Shawn was comforting her but was conflicted, as they were on opposing teams.
"Jaz…" Shawn asked the girl, causing her to look at him.
"Shawn. I'll be okay. But you have to go on. You can't throw the challenge for me. I just can't do this mine."
DJ placed a hand on the boy's shoulder, nodding at him. He placed himself on the floor next to Jasmine and spoke to her.
"Listen Jasmine. We don't know each other yet, but we don't have to do this. The other Bisons, they've got this."
Shawn, seeing DJ handle the situation, grabbed a light and map and started to descend into the mine, but not before giving a guilty look back at his girlfriend.
—
"I don't want to leave her," Shawn said. "But I also don't want to lose, the Bats are in last place right now and I can't afford a loss this early on."
—
"DJ, I just feel so bad for letting us down," Jasmine said quietly, as the boy wrapped an arm around her.
"Don't be silly. We're in first, and we got all eight members here. The other two teams still had three members still on the race when we had everyone on that damn heel walk. We can sit here for the rest of the challenge, and if someone comes, I'll hold them back." DJ responded, winking at her, causing Jasmine to smile.
"Hey DJ?"
"Yeah?"
"Thank you."
—
"My mental state would have been a lot worse without DJ there," Jasmine confessed. "Don't get me wrong, I would've loved to have Shawn but then guilt would be breaking my soul. DJ isn't only a potential ally. He's a good person, a good teammate and, most importantly a good friend."
—
Lightning & Sky: 0:48
Meanwhile much deeper into the mine, while it was taking them a while, Sky and Lightning were making no mistakes navigating the mines with ease. It genuinely surprised them to see light at the end of the tunnel, as both Bisons looked at each other and grinned, starting a full sprint up and out of the mines.
Lightning easily reached the line, and was about to cross out when he paused just before it.
"Sha-After you," He called out to Sky, who had slowed to a light jog, "After all, Lightning would still be in the maze if it wasn't for you."
Sky blushed, smiling widely at the other boy. "Why thank you Lightning."
Sky crossed the line, and Lightning stepped over it straight after, both of them eager to meet Chris.
"Well, good job guys," Chris commented, hitting a button from his seat. "AND THAT IS TWO POINTS FOR THE BRAWNY BISONS WITH SKY AND LIGHTNING CROSSING."
Sky cheered, overcome with emotion grabbing the other boy and pulling him into a hug. Lightning felt his cheeks go red, as Sky immediately jumped back realising what she had done, her cheeks still rosy.
"Well, I'm going to shower. I have mine stuff all over me," Sky said quickly, walking away from the end.
"Lightning will join you!" He called out. "Wait no, not like that! Lighting will wait right here."
Sky laughed, and waved him off walking away from. She couldn't help but let out a belch after she had made enough distance.
—
"Nope. This is not what I came to do," Sky panicked in the confessional. "I came to right my wrongs, not to fall in love. Not that I'm falling in love! Ah shit, delete this McClean!"
—
Courtney, Heather & Scarlett: 0:51
Courtney came out from the mine next, with Scarlett and Heather swiftly behind her. All three girls crossed the line one after the other, causing Chris to hit his button again.
"THE BATS FIGHT BACK SCORING THREE POINTS WITH ALL THE WOMEN FINISHING TOGETHER."
Courtney and Heather high-fived each other, while Scarlett adjusted her glasses with a genuine smile on her face. They didn't have much time to celebrate as B was the next to appear, causing Lightning to look a small bit downtrodden, although not by much as none of the Butterflies had appeared yet.
"AND THAT IS FOUR POINTS FOR THE BATS THANKS TO B. WITH SEVEN MINUTES REMAINING, WHERE ARE THE BUTTERFLIES?"
Noah listened to the announcement, taking a seat at the start of the beauty section. "This should be interesting."
—
"There's really no point putting myself through that torture," Noah summarised simply. "What can I say, sports are still not my forte."
—
Justin, Sugar & Topher: 0:54
The three of the Butterflies who hadn't even bothered with the challenge were simply sitting on some rocks during the brawns part of the racetrack. They were still somewhat discussing and somewhat discussing who they'd eliminate.
"I hate to break it to you guys, but we don't have the numbers," Topher reminded them plainly.
"Oh please, we're running the vote. LeShawna and Lindsey will have no problem voting for Alejandro and Alejandro and Anne Maria will do the same to them." Justin fought back.
"Mmmhmmm. Y'all saw how pissy she got when LeShawna made any sort of plan." Sugar added, backing Justin up.
"So we just have to decide which one of the three…" Justin repeated, causing Topher to sigh.
—
"So we're back to square one," Topher said plainly in the confessional.
—
Sam & Cameron: 0:54
Sam was still wobbling through the heels part, feeling a mixture of motivation and defeat. He knew his team was winning, but at the same time, he felt bad for letting them down. Cameron shared a similar sentiment, having regained consciousness and reaching the heels as well, he didn't really see a point to continuing. For the experience though, Cameron strapped the shoes on, took a step and immediately crashed to the floor and knocked himself out.
Lindsey & Dakota: 0:55
Lindsey and Dakota were still travelling around in the mine to no avail. "Uhh, Dakota have we been here before?"
"I could not tell you. Everything looks the same."
"Let's try left here," Lindsey suggested, with Dakota complying. They found themselves in a path that neither of them recognised at all, and that was saying something considering how similar everything else looked.
"WAIT!? Is that light!" Dakota yelled out, grinning widely as she started running.
"Dakota, you have the flashlight!" Lindsey called out after her, following her pace and finding themselves in what they were sure was not the exit.
The room they were in was covered head to toe in purple gems, as well as an excavating system. The jewels glimmered in the light, which the girls could now see was an opening at the top of the cave, acting as a skylight.
"Are these real amethysts!" Dakota exclaimed, running over to one and grabbing a chunk.
"Hmm." Lindsey pondered, walking back to the girl and looking at the gem with careful consideration. She tapped on the surface, flashed Dakota's torch, gave it a sniff and even a lick before speaking again. "Nope. It's as fake as Heather."
Dakota sighed, tossing the gem back down to the floor. "Better keep Anne Maria away from here. But I think we found our exit."
The two girls started to climb out of the maze, as another announcement went off. "FINALLY, WITH FIVE MINUTES LEFT, LESHAWNA, ALEJANDRO AND ANNE MARIA SCORE FOR THE BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES." More determined than ever, they started scaling the site ready to score points for their team.
"Sheesh, that was rough," Anne Maria said to Chris, dusting herself off. LeShawna looked anxiously into the mine for Lindsey as Lightning got increasingly worried realising the Bisons went from first to last and there wasn't much time left.
—
"It turns out that LeShawna is a lot smarter than she was when she was smitten by me," Alejandro told the confessional, thinking. "It may be a problem to deal with but, ay there's a lot of problems to deal with on this team."
—
Duncan, Eva, Jo & Rodney: 0:56
"Uhh, left- No! Right now," Rodney directed his team as Eva and Jo got increasingly frustrated at him.
"Which one doofus," Jo roared, causing Duncan to step in and play mediator.
"Back off dude, I doubt you could do any better."
"Yes, it's right I'm sure!"
Jasmine & DJ: 0:56
The announcement had also startled Jasmine, who grew increasingly worried. "Oh God, we're in last."
"Don't spiral Jas," DJ comforted, although he was also slightly spooked. He prayed silently that Duncan's group would manage to find their way out and score them the last few points they needed.
"I think... I think we need to go in," Jasmine confessed, looking at the other boy.
"Jasmine, Are you sure? With your claustrophobia?"
"I'm sure. I'm good with a map. We should make it out in time, but we have to go now." The girl took a deep breath in and studied the map carefully, before descending into the mine. DJ, worried by all hell's means, followed her down, unsure of how these last few minutes would turn out.
Shawn: 0:57
"LINDSEY AND DAKOTA HAVE MADE IT. FIVE POINTS FOR THE BUTTERFLIES," Shawn heard, as he took the last turn and saw the light. He was confused though to how Lindsey and Dakota had beaten him out of the only exit when he took every right direction, but he shrugged it off and jogged across the line.
"Hey Chris," Shawn turned to ask the host, but he shushed the boy.
"SHAWN TIES IT UP WITH HIS FIFTH POINT FOR THE BATS." Chris announced, before looking at Shawn. "What do you want?"
"Do we have to stay here, or like, can I go back to Jasmine."
"Do whatever you want, I don't care," Chris shrugged, causing Shawn to roll his eyes. He started jogging over the top of the mines back to the entrance where all that was left were two ass imprints on the grass.
—
"Don't tell me she-"
—
Duncan, DJ, Eva, Jasmine, Jo & Rodney: 0:58
With Jasmine's talent at reading a map, they had quickly caught up to the other Bisons. Thanks to DJ being a rock for Jasmine, and the implication they were near the end, Jasmine figured out the last two turns and they were almost at the exit of the mine.
"ONE MINUTE LEFT CAMPERS," Chris's voice blared once again, building up their determination even more as they realised how close they were to not making it.
"Guys we gotta go," Jo yelled out, seeing the light at the end of the mine, the same as so many had seen before.
All the Brawny Bisons started sprinting to the end line, where they saw a grinning Lightning and Sky waiting for them. All six crossed at the same time, and as Rodney stepped over the line, Chris blared the airhorn signalling the end of the challenge.
"AND IN A MIRACULOUS TURN OF EVENTS, ALL THE BRAWNY BISONS CROSS THE END OF THE RACE, LEAVING THE SCORES AT 8 FOR THEM, 5 FOR THE BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES AND 5 FOR THE BRAWNY BATS."
The Bisons burst into cheers, with high-fives being shared all around while the other two teams sighed. They knew they had gone from the two immune teams to the bottom two teams in a matter of a minute.
"Did we lose?" Lindsey asked LeShawna, worried. The other girl simply wrapped her arms around Lindsey, cheering.
"No girl! You and Dakota made it before Shawn! We're second."
"As LeShawna did confirm, Bats, I'll be seeing you at our first campfire ceremony tonight."
B, Heather and Courtney looked dejected, as Shawn jogged back, just as defeated. Scarlett sighed thinking about who to eliminate.
Chef Hatchet returned on a golf-cart, with the six campers who had not finished with him. Sam was rubbing at his feet, with Cameron panting furiously next to him. Noah was the only one who seemed content. As for the Butterflies, they just made their way to the rest of their team, not really that bothered by the outcome.
"Now while I have all twenty-four campers here, it's time to announce the twist for this season." Chris continued, drawing all eyes to him.
"Twist? I thought this was going to be like the other seasons." Dakota asked, confused.
"Well, with the exception of a few of you, every contestant has made the merge at least once before."
With this announcement, Anne Maria scowled, knowing the implications of what he meant and her whole crystal fiasco. Rodney and Topher both felt a little dejected, their runs not exactly bringing the status of the legend that the others had while Eva and Dakota knew that they had made a merge, but only through a return.
Duncan on the other hand, smirked, knowing merge was something he got to experience all four times he competed. "Meaning McClean?"
"A lot of you are much more focussed on strategy than the actual game, not that worried about eliminations due to alliances." Chris continued, an evil glint in his eyes. "To combat that, we are keeping the rich rich and the poor poor."
"Chris. What the fuck are you saying." Heather asked, her frustration growing.
"Simply put. The best person on the losing team gets immunity, and the worst person gets an extra vote against them."
Courtney's mouth dropped at this new piece of information. Scarlett was equally as intrigued, knowing her safety was much more secure with this, whereas a few of the more contestants that relied on their social games looked worried.
"Hopefully we'll have friendly fire, and even more suspenseful eliminations with this new aspect involved in the game. As for this week, Courtney. As the first Bat to cross the line, you have immunity. And Cameron, for passing out twice in this race, you will have one vote against you." Chris finished, smiling evilly. "Bats, I will meet you at the campfire in thirty minutes."
As the Bisons left to enjoy their Spa Hotel, and the Butterflies left to their cabin, the Bats looked at each other anxiously. Courtney in particular, was ecstatic to have solo immunity, knowing she had a one-way ticket to next week while Cameron felt a little dejected, knowing this was by far his best performance.
Shawn looked at the guys he had befriended earlier, eyeing up one specific contestant, while Scarlett whispered something to Heather who nodded in agreement and passed the message along. Scarlett and Shawn locked eyes, staring into each other's souls as one by one they all made their way to the campfire ceremony.
The Bisons were ecstatic as Jo and Lightning were relaxing in the hot tub, DJ, Sky and Jasmine were flipping through channels on a hot tub, and Eva was working out silently next to them. Rodney and Duncan were chilling in the guy's bedroom, talking about Rodney's personality issues.
"So, you seem fine with Eva and Jo?" Duncan assessed, stripping in front of the boy and lying on a bed.
"In the nicest way… they're not exactly my type," Rodney said, causing the other boy to laugh.
"You have a type? The guy smitten over everyone?"
"Listen, it may not be a narrow type, but it's still a type."
Duncan thought silently, thinking about the contestants on the season and who he got on with. "Okay, is there anyone else who isn't your type here?"
"Sugar," Rodney said instantly, shuddering at the thought. "The others are just so beautiful."
"Hmm… I'll see if Courtney or LeShawna or even Lindsey would be okay with helping me help you," Duncan said with a grin, before thinking about the first name again.
—
"It's been a long day so far, so I haven't even had a chance to think about her," Duncan confessed, the 'her' being quite obvious. He sighed before continuing. "Man, we really didn't end things on a good note. I need to fix that shit while I'm back."
—
Jasmine was trying to watch TV with the friends she had made, but something was picking at her brain.
"Jasmine, you really carried us through that last part," DJ told the girl, turning to her and seeing her worried expression.
"Yeah, I really thought we were going to lo- Hey, Jas? Are you okay?" Sky continued, noticing what DJ had too.
"Yeah... I'm just scared for Shawn… With Scarlett around and all."
"Awh Jasmine. I know Shawn, and he isn't going down without a fight." Sky told her, laughing.
"Yeah, there's no way he's going home first," DJ added, as both of them wrapped their arms around the girl. She laughed softly, a little more secure now.
Lightning and Jo on the other hand were a lot more chipper in the hot tub. They were splashing each other, and having a lot of fun which surprised them both considering their rivalries from their past seasons.
"You know Lightning. I think we work together well, and we have all the power this team needs." Jo said to the boy.
"Sha-What are you saying?" Lightning combatted back, causing the girl to roll her eyes.
"I'm saying we should work together… Like an alliance?"
"Sha-Yes!" Lighting exclaimed, pounding his fist in the air and splashing Jo.
—
"Maybe this was a mistake..." Jo said, rolling her eyes.
—
The Butterfly team was as divided as ever. LeShawna, Lindsey and Dakota were at one bunk talking about the challenge mainly, while Anne Maria and Alejandro were sitting together on another bunk with the former still wooing the latter. Topher, Sugar and Justin were still conspiring by one of the last bunks.
"I still think Alejandro should be the first one gone," Justin told the two, who both scoffed. "Hear me out, if we get rid of him, we'll have Anne Maria on our side. We can easily get the other three gone."
"Nah, Lindsey can go first. We'll break up LeShawna and Dakota instantly, they have nothing in common and they'll be easy pickins'" Sugar argued back.
Topher rolled his eyes, not even bothering to express how clear it was that LeShawna should be the first to go.
—
"This alliance has some issues, to say the least," Topher sighed
—
The camera flashed towards the campfire for the first time this season. By the dock, a contraption with multiple boxes suspended above the water was seen in which the eight Bats were located inside. A small window was available to them to look at Chris, but the rest of the campers were blocked from their field of view.
"Chris what is this?" Cameron asked nervously.
"Well Cameron, thank you for asking! This is our new Shoot of Shame. If you live to stay safe another day, you'll be slid down towards me without a problem. But a single vote will cause your box to shake and splutter, with the camper with the most votes being launched off and away from this island."
"Jasmine won't like this one bit," Shawn muttered to himself.
"Why am I in here! I'm immune, right?" Courtney asked, pounding on the glass.
"Suspense, I guess?" Chris said with a shrug. "Now, using the buttons below the glass window, please press the button of who you'd like to vote for."
—
"No more evil-doing for you," Shawn said with a shudder, hitting a button that read SCARLETT.
—
"I can't say she wasn't right about this idea. Sorry dude," Noah said bluntly, hitting a button.
—
Sam looked between two buttons and sighed. "After today, I think you're great but too competitive for me. And I don't think I'll survive the zombie training." Sam then hit the button with the name SHAWN.
—
"Now all eight votes have been registered, and Cameron's punishment vote included, I can now announce the votes."
"With immunity, the first person safe is Courtney." The girl in question screamed, as the floor beneath her fell away, but was relieved to see a slide take its place. She slid down to Chris and turned to watch the others, a little scared by the sight before her.
Under each column, there was a chute that pointed straight down. Looking at the slide she came out of, she saw that hers twisted into a soft arc as it led her way down to the dock. She was still confused about how the campers would be evicted from the island.
"Also safe are B, Heather, Noah and Sam," Chris continued, as the four brains, all felt a similar fear to Courtney as they landed next to her looking at the last three campers.
"Now for the fun part," Chris smiled, hitting a button on his remote control. The three tubes split apart from each other, as the ones the safe campers were in sank back below the water. The walls came down, allowing Cameron, Shawn and Scarlett to see each other and the rest of their surroundings, transforming into pedestals similar to that of the hunger games.
"Chris this is inhumane," Scarlett roared out, glaring at the host as Cameron shook on the spot. The other campers looked on, more worried, as they waited to see which of the three would get the boot.
"You three stand before me as you all received at least one vote at this elimination ceremony. But the camper going home, with five votes against them, is….

The bubble boy looked shocked for a moment, as did Shawn next to him. But before any of them could comment, Chris hit one last button on his remote causing the pedestal that Cameron was standing on to spring him off the island way over somewhere. All that could be heard from him was his screams, as they slowly faded away. The other campers looked on, in a mix of horror and surprise, as the camera focused back on Chris.
"With one gone, and many more to come, who will be the next to fly away this season? Will Shawn and Scarlett ever reach an end to their rivalry? Will the Butterflies ever decide who to boot, and will Rodney ever talk to a girl? Find out next time on Total! Drama! Battle of the Bs!."
—
Cameron fell with a scream, landing surprisingly in the Playa Des Losers. He got up, with a groan. "Well, I came back for more experiences, and that was an experience to say the least. Now I can enjoy this experience in peace."

And that is the second part of the first chapter done! My writing schedule is by no means fixed yet, but most of the time I have found myself just tipping away at this fic. It was my goal to do 1,000 words a day minimum and have a chapter once a week but I'm not that upset with how this chapter turned out. Many of the potential storylines have started, and the best way to discuss them is in their teams.
The Brains team is clearly divided into two halves, with the main arc being Scarlett vs Shawn. But Heather, Courtney and Noah all got their individual storylines expanded on a small bit throughout the chapter. B to some extent as well, while Sam… This just wasn't his chapter.
The Beauty time is also divided, which could be summed up pretty clearly in their last scene together. The Brawns team is the most unified, with the interactions between the campers being the most fun to write.
Now… Why Cameron? Well, I won't lie, he was only chosen because he was such a brainy character. He's not a character that I'm very fond of and as a previous winner, he was one of the targets on Scarlet's hit list. There's not much else to say about him.
I probably will start work on the next chapter in a few days, but I still do appreciate every review, follow and favourite.
Til next time, Space signing out.
