Okay I am never trying to spoil chapter names again. I was hoping Dark Swordsman would be a good fit for this one, but things didn't go as planned so I decided to postpone that name for the next chapter, where Marth will be getting more of a focus. Anyway, enjoy!
Chapter 20- Clash of Kings
November 3, 2056
One didn't need facial expressions to tell that Marth was angry. Kuroba could tell just from the murderous aura around the boy she loved. She's never seen him look this angry before. On one hand, she was glad that he was alright, but on the other this fury disturbed her.
The remnant of Celine, her first life, had mentioned something about Marth being the Wrath Lord, the seventh demon lord, and of a dark power that was hidden within him to her during a dream. Of course, the original princess chose to be as vague with her wording as possible, claiming that Kuroba will find out for herself soon enough. It would seem that Celine was just as secretive with information as her.
It was times like this that Kuroba cursed at her amnesia. She already knew the answers to the questions she had, but they were locked behind a powerful mental block that couldn't be broken by traditional means. The only way to weaken the block was for Ashen Wolf to level up in Brain Burst, allowing Marth (and by extension his friends) to slowly regain his memories. It was strange that Brain Burst seemed to have this strange power but given how it delves into a Linker's subconscious to bring out their mental scars, it wasn't too much of a stretch to think that it could recover lost memories too. But that is a topic for another day.
Even without her memories, Kuroba had the terrible feeling that it was dangerous for Marth to get angry. Sure there was the whole "angry people are more likely to make mistakes" thing, but there was more to it in this situation. First off, he was the Wrath Lord, meaning giving into rage shouldn't be that bad, but something about this just felt wrong. That dark power Celine mentioned…does it come out whenever Marth was in this state? Just thinking about it sent a chill down her spine. Now is not the time for the demon prince to lose control of himself and go on a rampage. If that happened, he'll attack anyone within sight, including his friends. She needed to do something to calm him down quickly. She could already see a faint black miasma forming around him.
"Marth…" she started to say, her head lifting up towards her protégé.
Without even a glance, Marth calmly interrupted her. "Don't worry, Kuroba. I'm fine." The traces of the miasma vanished without a trace, as if they were never there to begin with. "I am furious at Radio and his lackeys, but this isn't the ideal scenario for me to snap. Right now, we need to focus on winning this battle. Can you stand?"
It was incredible to hear that he knew exactly what she was thinking. Sure, he didn't know that she was aware of his dark power, but she already knew that he became very dangerous whenever he was angry. He was probably just saying that to reassure her. After this battle was over, though, she'll have to make sure they have a private talk over his "condition". She wanted to know what was befalling her beloved protégé.
As for her being able to move her avatar again, the resistance had decreased dramatically. She was able to move her arms with some effort, though her legs were still stiff. However, she had a feeling that won't be a problem for much longer. Now that she had witnessed the boy she loved regain his will to fight, how could she not do the same? It would be an insult to him as the leader of the Harbingers and to herself as one of the Seven Kings of Pure Color.
Yes, she regretted what she did to Red Rider. She executed him in a cowardly way that brought shame to her title as King, rather than defeat him in an honorable duel. All because she fell for that person's words. No matter how hard she tried, she will never be able to make up for that terrible mistake. Instead, she has to accept what she did and keep moving forward. She will uncover the secrets of the Accelerated World, no matter what it takes. This time, however, she will not be walking this blood-soaked path alone.
The pale light in her eyes intensified as a violet aura surrounded her from head to toe. The dust that had coated her body due to the battle was blown away, restoring the reflective sheen of her onyx armor. The swords of her arms and legs chimed loudly.
Everyone watched in awe and fear as the jet-black avatar rose from the ground, almost like it was being pulled by an invisible thread. Standing up straight, Black Lotus flicked the tips of her legs, floating slightly above the ground before leisurely hovering towards the side of her protégé.
"Does that answer your question?" she asked smugly, to which Marth chuckled in amusement, a rare sight, especially on the battlefield.
"Yeah. I'll get Kisara. You go rescue Kirito and the others."
"You're leaving the hard part to me? How cruel. As your guardian and Legion Master, I should be ordering you to do that."
Kuroba wasn't at all serious when she said those words, nor did her anger for the Yellow King suddenly dissipate. As Marth's guardian and a girl who has feelings for him, she felt it was her duty to keep him safe from any harm. She was fully intending to make Radio and his lackeys pay for this treachery, which is ironic considering that she is labelled as the greatest traitor in the Accelerated World. However, that didn't mean she couldn't have some fun with her protégé before the battle began.
While he was completely hopeless when it came to female affection, Marth could generally tell whenever she was messing around. Sometimes he would even play off her little acts, mainly just to see how everyone would react.
"Then I guess you'll have to punish me later then," he replied, sounding so casual about it that Kuroba couldn't help but laugh. It was a great way to relieve tension, as almost everyone was looking at the duo in bewilderment.
"Ugh, can you two save the flirting for later?!" Yuniko screamed in protest. Her fortress was in terrible shape, with some of the plates having been torn out and one of its main weapons being pulled out from its socket. There was also a big gash of sorts in the front, showing the small avatar inside.
"Buzzkill," Kuroba chided before taking a firm stance, as did the gray avatar next to her. "Let's go."
The two avatars shot forward, going in different directions. The enemy that was incapacitating Kisara seemed to be a user of electricity. As a lightning mage, Marth was the perfect counter. He'll be able to make quick work of them without any danger to himself. As for Kuroba's opponents, well they were screwed regardless of their abilities. The Black King was one of the top players in the entire Accelerated World. Her speed and attack power had next to no equal, not factoring in the other Kings of course. Taking advantage of these aspects, and of her avatar's characteristics, she could easily rescue Kirito and others from the Yellow Legion's close-range unit.
"Marth knew this. He knew exactly how to best use our avatars' strengths to overcome the enemy. It doesn't hurt that his little plan has me showing off my strength as one of the Seven Kings. He's trying to use me to intimidate the Yellow Legion and lower their morale. Very clever."
The demon prince was quite the strategist. He always did his best to stay at least three steps ahead of his enemies. He rarely ever struck if he didn't have enough information to form a strategy, not to mention factoring in a few contingencies. No wonder Kuroba was so infatuated with him. She saw quite a bit of herself in him.
The way she moved was like that of a black beam, moving dozens of meters in just the blink of an eye. In an instant, she appeared beside the enemy's close-combat leader, who had moved to the ground of the crater.
"What the?!" A startled cry slipping out, the enemy avatar dropped the red artillery he had been holding, unfurled his hands that had abnormally tough fingers, and danced toward Kuroba. Given how he managed to rip out one of Niko's main armaments off through brute strength alone, he was most likely not a pugilist type. If the Black King were to hazard a guess, he was most likely a grappling-technique duel avatar.
Getting a wicked idea, she stuck her arm straight out, practically begging for it to be grabbed. Taking the bait, the enemy's eyes were alight with a fierce fire. His arms struck out like snakes, attempting to take hold of Black Lotus's arm from two places.
"Gotcha, Black King! One Way Thr—" Shouting the technique as he angled his body around, the avatar hoisted the captive arm against his right shoulder and took on a posture for a one-armed throw.
And at that precise moment, something spilled down, falling in pieces. Ten thick, curved cylinders. They were fingers, fingers the enemy avatar had used to grasp the sword that was Kuroba's arm, severed against the blade through their own strength alone.
"Sorry, but grappling techniques are basically useless against me," she said to the now frozen enemy. The blades of Black Lotus embodied absolute severance. To put it plainly, they could basically cut through anything, with a few exceptions, of course. This was the same trait that Celine's divine weapon, the Black Lily Sword, possessed. It was quite possible that Black Lotus simply inherited it from the divine sword. But that was a story for another day.
Taking advantage of her opponent's shock, she brought down the arm placed against the enemy's shoulder, the edges of the thin black blade pointed diagonally. In just a single moment, a thin ray of light escaped from the right shoulder to the left flank. From there, the muscular torso of the enemy avatar slid smoothly away and dropped to the ground, leaving about 70 percent of his body behind.
The avatar screamed as he fell, the pain of being bisected unimaginable. Unfortunately for him, the damage had not been enough to kill him, which would have been far preferable for him. At least that would have put him out of his misery.
Rather than watch him bounce around, Kuroba glared at the remaining seven or so close-range combatants. They had Kirito and Asuna surrounded, the couple standing back-to-back. She had seen the duo work brilliantly as a team many times, both in tag-team duels and on missions in Eternus. Chances are they could probably last just fine on their own, but that was only when factoring in just close-combat fighters. Given that there were still a lot of long-range avatars surrounding the edge of the crater, that drastically lowered their survival chances since they would have to avoid attacks from them too.
"What the hell?!"
Kuroba tossed a glance to the left, where she saw that Marth had engaged with the avatar with the old transformer. The enemy avatar had wrapped a few wires around Ashen Wolf's left arm, but rather than cut them off, the latter just let them be. They were also using that Shock Therapy attack on the dual wielder, given the bluish-white lightning that was coursing around Marth. However, unlike his younger sister, he looked totally fine. In fact, he seemed to be absorbing the electricity to the point that no energy was being directed to Kisara, who had severed the cords binding her with her rapier and was back on her feet. In just a few quick seconds, the large transformer short circuited, cutting off the flow of energy. A plume of white smoke rose out from the machine as well.
With one swift movement, Marth skillfully severed the wires around his left arm with Lunara. "Thanks for the charge," he said, sounding uncharacteristically smug. "I need to make up the time I spent napping while my friends were fighting for their lives."
"Wh-what the hell are you?" the electricity-generating avatar cried out in fear. "Why kind of wolf has the ability to absorb electricity?"
"Oh quite a few if you know where to look. Fair warning next time, electric attacks are useless against me. You were at least useful for charging up my special-attack gauge. I've got no use for you now, so you can go now. Kisara, would you be so kind as to send this guy on his way."
A wicked chuckle came out of the purple avatar. "With pleasure, Brother." The poor electricity-generating avatar tried to flee in terror, but Kisara followed in hot pursuit, running her rapier through their back.
Seeing that side was taken care of, Kuroba returned her focus to rescuing Kirito and Asuna. With a sudden dash, she appeared by their side as they prepared to make their last stand.
"Glad to see you back in action, Lotus," Graphite Edge said casually.
"Good to be back. I'll take out the four on the right. You and Asuna will the ones on the left."
"On it. Good luck."
She wanted to say that she didn't need luck, but chose to hold her tongue as she watched her teammates engage their assigned targets. It was interesting to see the pair at work. They masterfully made use of the Switch maneuver, where one teammate used a Sword Skill to knock an enemy's weapon aside, leaving them open, while another teammate strikes the defenseless enemy with another Sword Skill. They left no openings for the enemy to launch a counterattack. They'll be fine. As for Kuroba's opponents…
"I harbor no grudge against you." Her voice was calm, but it did contain enough violent undertones to make anyone watching to hold their breath. Even four avatars surrounding her looked nervous. Perhaps they know realize just how unmatched they are against a King. "However, if you choose to fight me, then I guarantee that you'll lose a limb or two." She raised the swords of her arms into a battle stance, left sword in front, right off to the side, a fighting stance she learned from Marth. "Not to mention that any pain you feel on this field is twice the amount of a regular duel, but it's too late to turn back now, isn't it?!"
Like a bird of prey, she leapt towards her first target, a slim white avatar. The high-pitched sound of metal screeching filled the air along with the Linker's screams as Kuroba effortlessly cut them to ribbons. As if she were performing a dance, she gracefully moved onto her next three targets, cutting them down just as easily. In just barely thirty seconds, the four fighters collapsed onto the dirt, all of them in pieces. They soon shattered like glasswork, shooting up as pillars of light.
That didn't take long at all. Perhaps if Radio hadn't used her regret over Red Rider against her, this battle would have gone down much faster. Takumu might not have needed to sacrifice himself to protect her and Marth. Ah yes, there's still that matter she needed to deal with.
"Why?"
Kuroba perked her head up towards the crater's edge, her eyes glaring daggers at the Yellow King. Yellow Radio continued with his rant, sounding almost like a petty child that didn't get his way, "Why do you appear now and ruin this carnival I've been preparing for years, Black Lotus? Why after hiding in some hole for two years do you appear now?"
The upturned eyes within the clown's laughing face filled with a white light. He spread his arms out to his sides, jumped up onto one leg before then shaking his head from left to right. Then, from beneath the mask, there slipped out short beats of laughter. The Yellow King pointed accusingly at Black Lotus with his right hand, before speaking in a voice befitting of a trickster.
"Does this mean that you've forgotten about the friend you betrayed and beheaded? Our friend? I wonder what he's doing now and where he is. Do you think he might be thinking about the Accelerated World and how he can never return…or maybe the person responsible for his banishment? I certainly couldn't forget it. It would be one thing if it happened in a true duel, but to pull a surprise attack like that…Makes you wonder, hmm?"
The anger in Kuroba's heart swelled up tenfold. Radio was trying to rile her up again, to make her psychological wounds too much for her to bear and go back into Zero Fill. He was afraid of her. That's why he was trying so desperately to incapacitate her again so that he wouldn't face her wrath. Unfortunately, she was not going to fall for the same trick twice.
"Does this guy ever stop talking?" Marth questioned as he stood by Kuroba's side. He sounded a little annoyed, and rightfully so. After all, he suffered the worse thanks to this scum of a King.
"Unfortunately, no," she answered back. "However, that issue can be fixed, because there's a fatal flaw in Radio's thinking."
"Oh?" the Yellow King spoke in challenge. "And what's that? You can't possibly try to justify yourself that what you did wasn't a cowardly attack."
"No, it's not that. It's you thinking that taking your head will affect me as much as Red Rider's. There's something I've been meaning to tell you for a long time." Kuroba brandished her right arm with a click, aiming it menacingly at the Yellow King. "Ever since we first met, I hated you!"
The very venom in her words was enough to reel the yellow clown back with a start. If Kuroba didn't know any better, she would say that he was feeling scared right now.
"Hey, Marth. What do you say to a little team-up? I'm sure you want to pay Radio back for that little gift he gave you, right?"
"Oh I would love to," the Dark Swordsman replied, "but I think I'll take my anger out on his flunkies instead. If I beat him, he'll just revive within an hour. But if you beat him, he'll be banished from this world forever. Just let me know if you need assistance and I'll back you up in a heartbeat."
Yeah, she kind of figured he'd say something like that. Also while he didn't say it outright, she knew that if she engaged Yellow Radio in single combat, it would allow Marth to get an idea for his fighting style. Once he saw enough, there was no doubt that he would move in to back Kuroba up so that she could claim the Yellow King's head with no issue. That is, of course, if she asked for his help.
"I see. Very well then." She glanced back quickly and yelled, "Rain, your weapons have finished recharging, right?! Take out the rest of the fighters. Wolf, Graphite, Flash, Flare, you guys cover her! He's mine!"
And with that she charged straight for the Yellow King, like a predator about to pounce on their prey.
Marth couldn't believe he fell for Radio's tricks so easily. Just goes to show that your past came come back to bite you in more ways than one. He didn't remember what had happened to him after seeing that video of his memories. The most he could recall was being lost in an abyss, being swallowed by his past regrets. Somehow, he managed to get out, all thanks to a certain voice calling out to him. He needed to remember to thank his sister properly for saving him. If it wasn't thanks to her, he might not have ever recovered.
Don't be like that. After all, I'm still with you.
He let out a gasp. Who said that? It sounded familiar, yet he couldn't quite identify it. He looked around from his position but no one else seemed to have heard it. Next, he looked at Lunara, but saw that nothing about it had changed. That meant it wasn't Sophia reaching out again. It certainly wasn't Cynthia either. There was something more unsettling with this voice, something that not even the Spider of Despair could match. Was he just imagining things?
He shook his head to clear his thoughts. This was not the time to think about such trivial things. He hadn't been standing around doing nothing while Kuroba and the others were finishing off the rest of the Yellow Legion's close-range fighters. His sister mentioned something about a jammer on the enemy side that was disrupting Yuniko's weapons. If they wanted to end this fight quickly, that jammer needed to be taken out immediately.
He felt a little sorry for the Red King. Her fortress was practically in ruin. The only weapons she had left were her right cannon and some half-destroyed missile pods. Still, it should be enough to finish off what remains of the enemy's long-range battalion.
"There you are." Right at the northern edge of the crater was a yellow avatar, hiding themselves behind a red type. The pods on its shoulders were deployed, and a light effect of concentric circles was being generated from a parabolic antenna protruding from the center. Yep. If that wasn't a radio attack, he didn't know what is.
His target located, Marth summoned his wings and took into the air. There was a thirty-meter-long distance between the center of the crater (his original position) and the outer edge. Not even Ashen Wolf was fast enough to travel that amount of distance in an instant. There would be just enough time for that red bodyguard to react and try to stop him.
The red type had already noticed his rapid approach, aiming their gun in retaliation. If this was Gun Gale Online, Marth would be able to see the bullet line to see where the bullet will travel, but this world is not GGO. Just like in real life, he will have to rely on his instincts evade and close the distance. That jamming avatar needed to be taken out, otherwise Yuniko won't be able to use her weapons. Without her firepower, it would be up to just Marth and the others to take out the remaining long-range fighters so that they couldn't target Kuroba, and that was dangerous they were primarily close-range attackers. Sure, Marth and Kisara had ranged spells that could probably cover the distance, but none of them could eliminate their enemies all at once.
Just remain calm. It's not the gun he needs to worry about. It's the person behind the gun. That avatar looked to be a sniper of sorts. It kind of reminded him of Sinon. If there's one thing that he remembered from seeing how she fought with her bow, it was to wait for a sign telegraphing the pull of the trigger.
He blocked out everything else on the battlefield. As far as he was concerned, it was just him and the camouflaged sniper. Suddenly the back of the enemy's neck stiffened, their right shoulder moving up by a few millimeters, their right arm shaking.
"Now!"
By the time the sniper squeezed the trigger, Marth was already on the move. A heat beam shot out from the muzzle of the gun. He could try to block it with Stormveil, a wind defense spell, but prevented him from moving, which would defeat the point of his task. There was also the possibility of intercepting the beam with a lightning javelin, but that wasn't a good idea either as he wanted to conserve his special-attack gauge to use against Radio. He needed to be at his best if he wanted to up against a King. That left his only option to be evading the enemy shot. Fortunately for him, he was rather skilled in aerial combat, all thanks to his wind affinity (to be explained at a later date).
He twisted his body and barreled left, causing the laser to skim past his chest and right shoulder before continuing past him. The heat from it was intense, but Marth brushed it off, having felt hotter flames than that before, mainly from his sister and Elaine, and traveled the remaining ten meters, slipping right by the enemy sniper.
Before either they or the jammer could react, both of whom only managing to look rather stunned, Marth destroyed the antennas on the jammer's shoulders with his swords. Once he visually confirmed that the device had been successfully destroyed, he flew straight back into the air. As if that maneuver itself was the signal, or that she had sensed the jamming signal being severed, Yuniko's remaining weapons fired at once. Any assailants on her right flank were mowed down by the heat beam from her main cannon, meanwhile the left was being rained on by missiles. Soon a curtain of flames could be seen traced along the outer edge of the crater. The enemy forces hadn't been entirely defeated by that single volley, but it had been enough to silence the enemy barrage that had been barreling on Black Lotus.
The explosions died down, but that was soon replaced the raging howl of Kuroba Yukiko, the Black King herself.
"Radio!"
The sword of her right arm drew a black arc. Split soundlessly in two and sent flying into the air was none other than the right corner of the clown's enormous hat. Marth couldn't help but chuckle at the sight. He was going to enjoy this. It was always a pleasure watching Kuroba fight.
"Lotus!" the Yellow King answered back just as angrily, his voice no longer containing even a hint of the trickster before. His counterattack came from a long, large, baton-shaped weapon that he materialized out of thin air. With her left arm-sword, Kuroba knocked aside the thrust launched at her, drawing out a yellow line. The sparks that flew out from the clash lit her up beautifully. It made Marth's heartbeat quicken a little.
He could have gone to rejoin his sister and the others while the Red King continued to issue cover fire, but instead he drew closer to the clashing Kings at the western end of the crater, maintaining some distance so as to not get in the way. Instead he just continued to watch the spectacle unfold from the air.
This was the first time in the entire history of the Accelerated World that two Kings have fought each other. With the exception of Yuniko, all the Kings had reached level 9 at around the same time about two years ago. That was also when they learned the harsh sudden-death rule in order for them to reach level 10. That sudden-death rule was what caused the previous Red King, Red Rider, to propose the Nonaggression Pact to prevent those death fights.
Of course, that was also the meeting where Kuroba beheaded Rider with a surprise critical hit. It was the first and only time where a King had defeated another King. That single act branded Black Lotus as a traitor and caused her to hide out in Umesato's local net for two years to avoid being hunted by her former comrades. While he has criticized Kuroba's actions, he can't deny that if she hadn't have done it, then the two of them might not have been reunited.
Marth. Kisara. Kirito. Asuna. Yuniko. And the dozen or so remaining Yellow Legion members, they all stopped what they were doing and watched the fight with bated breaths.
They were fast, impossibly fast. They might even be faster than Marth in his real body, which was high praise coming from him. If he didn't focus enough, all he would be able to make out were two bolts of lightning popping off in succession in the area where the pair faced off. The Black King slashed out four, no five times in a row. She wasn't using any Sword Skills, likely choosing to preserve her special-attack gauge for one finishing move. Meanwhile Yellow Radio impressively stopped every blow with his baton, twirling in a frenzy. Next, he kicked out a long leg, exploiting the slight opening she left. Each time Kuroba intercepted those kicks with her leg, shock waves spread out like ripples on the water's surface, distorting the background.
Perhaps because of all these successive and incredibly high-powered attacks, cracks started to spring from the ground beneath the feet of both fighters, with pieces of rubble sent flying everywhere. For some reason, this reminded Marth of a similar battle, one that he had fought on top of a tower that he could barely remember. The air seemed to hold some kind of pressure as the lights emitted by the pair's armor seemed to increase in strength.
"Nearly there," Niko spoke up, watching the spectacle from inside her fort.
"What are you talking about?" Asuna questioned.
"Their special-attack gauges should be just about full now. This is when the real battle begins."
Just as she said the last word, a remarkable crash exploded, and both fighters moved away from each other.
Rather than charge back into the fight, Kuroba leisurely lowered her hips and pulled back her right arm-sword as far back as she could. A crimson light shot out of the blade as the metallic roar of a jet engine boomed in the air. That wasn't one of Black Lotus's special attacks. None of them could produce an effect quite like this. Marth then audibly gasped in recognition. He knew that attack. He knew very well. After all, it was one of his favorite Sword Skills to use.
Vorpal Strike.
It is a one-hit One Handed Sword Skill, one that both Marth and Kirito consider to be broken. It was a charging attack with a full thrust of the sword, capable of having the same reach as a spear when using your full arm. That one attack has saved both boys a lot back in Aincrad. As for how Kuroba knew how to use it, Marth taught it to her while coaching her on how to use Sword Skills in the real world. It would seem that knowledge then got passed onto Black Lotus, allowing her to use the skill in this world.
But why would she use that attack instead of her more familiar "Death By Piercing" attack, which was basically the same attack but with a purple light effect and a low-frequency vibration? It took Marth a second to catch onto her intent. It was a way for her to get back at Radio for what he did to the demon prince. It was her way of adding Marth's will to the fight without getting him directly involved.
Yellow Radio crossed both arms in front of his body and inserted his yellow baton between his fingertips. The spheres attached to both ends of the wand began emitting a cyclic light.
Power alone wasn't going to win this battle. What matters is speed. Whoever strikes first with their special attack will be the winner. From what Kisara told him, Radio seems to specialize in illusion attacks. That means it all rides on whether Kuroba's blow can land before the illusion takes hold. Just thinking about it gave him a chill. It's been while since he's felt like this, especially from a fight he wasn't in.
Black Lotus called in a clear voice, "Vorpal—"
At the same time, Yellow Radio shouted, "Futile Fortune Wa—"
Suddenly, the two synced voices calling out the names of their final attacks, failed to utter the remaining syllables. That cause of this failure lied in a small dry sound that carried an overwhelming presence, enough to silence the voices of both Kings.
It was the sound of something piercing the vibrant yellow chest armor of Yellow Radio from behind. Kuroba halted her attacks midway, while Marth quickly landed by her side out of caution. Everyone, including the Yellow King found themselves staring at the silver-gray metal protruding neatly from the armor and extending out by about fifteen centimeters. He recognized that metal, that color. It was chrome!
Standing behind the Yellow King was a large figure wrapped in blackened silver armor with a mirrored surface. The best way Marth could describe it was a monstrous heavyweight knight emerging from the shadows. Whoever they were, they had to be skilled to not only sneak up on the hypervigilant Yellow King, but also avoid the attention of the Dark Swordsman. The presence this being gave off was intense. He never felt anything quite like it before.
"It can't be," he said complete shock. "Don't tell me that's…"
Kuroba nodded gravely, her eyes narrowing. "It is. That is Chrome Disaster. Looks like the real battle begins now."
To be continued
And the monster finally appears! This is a battle I've been waiting a long time for. After all, both Marth and Chrome Disaster have a similar past and history. Who will come out on top when these two clash? Will it be the Curse of the Accelerated World, or the next Lord of Calamity? You'll have to wait until the next chapter to find out. See you guys next time!
