=A few days later=
Grey. That was all you could describe the day as. Dull and Grey. A thunderstorm seemed to be rolling in, and fast.
Cole was in his room playing with his black light switch as he looked at his pictures of Alice, ever since he broke things off with Cashew, it seemed that Cashew was glued to him even more now. It annoyed him immensely. As Cole continued flicking his lights he heard a knock on his door.
"Cole? I have some books you were looking for!"
It was Cashew. Cole rolled his eyes. He opened his door and grabbed the books.
"Thanks." He said dryly.
"Hey.. Uh.. I was thinking-"
"I'm busy today." Cole cut him off immediately.
Cashew looked down. "Cole, if we're supposed to be friends, then why have you been avoiding me?"
Cole let out a sigh. "Then perhaps we shouldn't be friends." he said coldly.
Cashew's eyes widened. "I-" He cut off. He couldn't say much, he nodded slowly. "Uh, okay. Sure.."
Cashew awkwardly shuffled out of the room and went to his own and laid on his bed. This doesn't make sense, one minute Cole seemed to have finally started getting closer with him, and now all of a sudden he has a barrier up blocking him out. Was Cole afraid of his feelings for him, or what? What happened that led up to this moment? Cashew sighed as he hugged his pillow. Cole was such an enigma.. One moment he wanted Cashew, the next he wanted nothing to do with him. He had never met someone like Cole.
Maybe that's why he was so drawn to the menacing man. He was someone he couldn't figure out…
=With Cole=
Cole had just finished pinning up newly printed pictures of Alice on his wall. As he scrolled through his camera, his eyes slightly widened as he found a picture of Alice and Cashew, normally it wouldn't bother him, but it looked like Cashew was looking directly into the camera with a smile. Did Cashew figure out Cole's weird stalking habits? No. Cole was always sure he couldn't be seen, so then why? Why did it look like Cashew figured him out? Cole frowned as he scrolled past the picture. It was probably nothing. Why did he even care about the squirrel boy anyway? He didn't. Their escapades were nothing more than Cole's plan to get him out of love with Alice. Nothing more, nothing less. Right? Right.
So then why?
Why the hell did the thought of Cashew send shivers of delight around him. Why the hell did the thought of the squirrel boy being wrapped around him please him so? He had just ended their friendship and now he was here almost feeling regret for it. What the hell did he have to do to stop thinking about him?
Alice.
Alice was always the thing he needed to relax. He got up and began making his way to her.
As he walked down the hallway, he found her just finishing up some vacuuming. He hugged her tightly with a purr.
"Hey, Cole! Is everything okay?"
Cole smiled at her subtly as he continued his affections. "Everything's fine."
Alice sighed happily as she felt him cuddle against her. "You're really cuddly today, Cole." She pointed out.
Cole smirked against her neck. "Is that so?" He teased. Alice shivered. "I-I'm trying to clean up.." She said as she lightly shook against him.
Cole purred as he let her go.
"Need any help?" He asked.
Alice smiled. "Yeah, thanks!"
XXXXXXXX
Cashew finally poked his head out of his room to feed himself. He walked down to the kitchen and ran into Eli, who was snacking on strawberries.
"Oh, hey Eli." He greeted.
Eli smiled at him. "Hey there! Done playing with Cole?"
Cashew looked away sadly at the mention of Cole. Eli took notice and gasped. "What happened!?" Eli dragged Cashew up to his room and sat him down on his bed.
Cashew sighed and explained what happened and why Cole and him are no longer on terms. Eli put a hand on Cashews. "He'll come around, love. I'm sure of it."
Cashew smiled weakly. Eli smirked and pushed up Cashew's glasses as he spoke. "You know, you're not that bad looking, my friend."
Cashew blushed. "Y-you too.."
Eli brushed a strand of hair from Cashew's eyes. "I want to try something.."
Cashew's face went darker. "Go ahead…"
=Later=
Cole was walking down the hall, as he passed by Eli's room, he heard something..
"Ah~"
Cole paused. That voice..
"Eli!"
Cole clenched his fists. Why did he suddenly feel pissed off? Why did he suddenly feel an urge to kill Eli?
Wait.. this is a good thing. Cashew's in the arms of someone else, not Alice's nor his. He was moving on. So then why did he have a vicious urge to murder the pegasi boy? Cole shook his head. This was so dumb. All this worrying, fussing, and shit was a little ridiculous. Cashew was one simple guy. Why did he fuss so much over him? Maybe his obsessive tendencies acting up again, he hated that it was acting up around the squirrel boy.
Cole began walking back to his room, ignoring the sounds from inside Eli's room.
=Inside Eli's room=
Cashew chewing his lip hard, Eli was in front of him on his knees.
"E-Eli, don't you think you've had enough?"
Eli smirked. "What? Done already?"
Cashew nodded slightly. "P-Please finish up already!"
"Just a little more and I'll be done, love."
Eli paused for a minute and without warning, ripped off the wax strip that was on Cashew's leg.
"AH!"
"Gee, Cash. With the way you're screaming people would think we're rolling in the sheets!"
Cashew blushed heavily. "Explain why you're doing this again?"
"Because dummy, we're going to give you a make-over so that grumpy pants can finally grow some balls and see what a catch you are!"
Cashew went dark red. "I still think this isn't going to work"
Eli rolled his eyes as he got his curler. "You think too negatively. This will work for sure!"
As Eli waited for the curler to heat up, he sat next to Cashew. "So Poe and Cole huh?'
Cashew laughed. "Their just friends, Eli. Not everything is about romance."
"Have you seen the way Poe looks at Cole? He likes him, isn't it cute?"
"Eli, they literally have nothing in common to be able to get together." He said with a stale laugh.
"I'm just yanking your leg, relax! From the sounds of it, you were jealous for a second!"
Cashew choked on air. "I-I wasn't jealous!"
"Suuurreee you weren't! You were totally green!"
Cashew looked away with a heated face. After a bit of banter, Eli began to pull Cashew's hair. Cashew sat still as Eli took each strand and curled it.
"Do you really think this will work?"
Eli nodded as he worked on his hair. "If Cole doesn't notice how pretty you are, then he's a lost cause." He said.
Cashew blushed.
Soon, Eli finished, Cashew's hair was curled and pulled into bouncy curls, Eli put blush on Cashew's face and gave him an outfit change, instead of his usual sweater and shirt and jeans, he was now wearing a light red turtle neck that was cut open at the chest, with tight jeggings and red painted nails.
"Um.. will this really catch his attention?"
"It should, you look hot! I'd date you myself!"
Cashew blushed heavily. "T-Thanks.."
Soon, Cashew left the room and walked down the hall, looking for Cole. He soon found him and felt nervous. He slowly approached him. Cole, hearing the footsteps looked over and his breath hitched as he looked at Cashew's new look.
"Hey." Cashew greeted.
Cole couldn't speak. What the hell was going on? Why did Cashew seem so irresistible right now?
"Cole?" He waved his hand in front of the menacing man and looked at him with innocent doe eyes.
Cole clenched his jaw as he stared into Cashew's big doe eyes. He finally spoke.
"What?"
Cashew swallowed hard and tried to speak. "I uh.. Wanted to know if you'd be up to go out to like… the library or something?"
Cole looked away. "You're trying too hard squirrely."
Cashew bit his lip. "I-Is it that obvious?"
Cole nodded.
It was silent between the two for a moment, awkwardly so.
"Cole…"
Cole looked at Cashew and quirked a brow. "Hm?"
"Why do you hate me so much? Is this all really because of Alice? Or is there something else?"
"You just can't let things go, can you?"
Cashew looked away.
Cole sighed heavily, was he ready to admit he didn't exactly hate him anymore? Probably not..
"Listen Squirrely, you're really treading on thin ice…"
"I-I'm sorry, but I have to know!"
"You don't have to know everything squirrely, some things are better left unsaid." He said as he walked away.
Cashew stood in the hallway alone, he punched the wall as he walked back to his room, feeling depressed..
