—OoOoO—
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Loud gunshots rang out from an underground shooting range. There, a black-haired girl in a ponytail holding a Glock-20 whose tip emitted a light smoke. The girl wore ear and eye protection to protect against harmful noises and projectiles.
Seeing the result of the shot, the girl exhaled the breath she had been holding in for a while.
"12 of the 15 shots hit the target. Your time is also one second faster than before. That's a great achievement, Momo-san."
Yaoyorozu Momo turned to the nearby male instructor. The beautiful girl put her gun into the available place and removed her ear protection for better hearing.
"That's not enough. At the very least, I want all my shots to hit the target and with the same timing as just now," Momo replied, feeling unsatisfied.
The male instructor laughed dryly at the target that his VIP disciple wanted to achieve.
"Hahaha … actually, these results are pretty good for someone who's only been learning to shoot for a year like you. For a newbie, the most important thing is consistency. And I think you already have that."
"But Toji-kun can hit all targets in one try, easily and quickly," Momo said with a slight frown, "Moreover, he uses the Desert Eagle, which is notoriously heavy and uncomfortable."
"Well, Toji-san is special. You know yourself, don't you?"
Of course, Momo knew. He was her twin, after all. If anyone knew Toji the most, Momo was the one. She knew many of her brother's secrets, even their parents didn't know.
Momo also realized that comparing herself to a monster like Toji in a field that required physical abilities was the dumbest thing in the world. However, Momo at least wanted to be able to do what her twin could do. No, she had no intention of aiming for her brother's record. However, if Toji could shoot all targets precisely and quickly, Momo would at least want to be able to do that too.
"Besides, even though Toji-san can use the Dessert Eagle easily, didn't he say that he doesn't like that gun?" continued the instructor, who was still trying to encourage Momo.
Momo turned her face to the side. She removed her safety glasses and put it in its proper place.
'Indeed, Toji-kun said that a good gun is a light and comfortable one. And it's not at all important to compare one gun to another because the most important thing is comfort and compatibility with the user.'
Toji could indeed use the Dessert Eagle well. However, Toji didn't think the Dessert Eagle was a good gun. In terms of damage, the Dessert Eagle was indeed the champion. However, the Desert Eagle was heavy and oversized. The Desert Eagle was a flamboyant gun that would only be used in the movies. However, in practice, professionals would not use Dessert Eagle in their work.
The handgun was a high-mobility weapon and easy to store or hide. For this reason, the best guns were light in weight and small but still delivered a good performance.
The guns were not weapons intended to kill opponents in one shot or with high destructive power. You could say the gun was more suitable for a self-defence system. However, any type of firearm could also be made to kill in one shot if the bullet hits vital organs, let alone the head.
That's why, for Toji, who had extremely high accuracy and could quickly shoot his target's heart or head, he didn't need an inefficient pistol like the Dessert Eagle.
In fact, he actually prefered the manufacturer's handguns from Heckler & Koch and Glock because they were more comfortable and efficient to use. In fact, Toji had Heckler & Koch in his arsenal as their weapon's size was slightly larger than the Glock, so it was more comfortable in his hand.
"Speaking of Toji-san, where is he? Unusually, you two don't come here together," the instructor asked.
"Who knows. He said he wanted to buy something," Momo replied.
"He … didn't out, did he?" asked the Instructor again cautiously.
To him, he had never met anyone with such a perfect physique as Toji. No, the word perfect was not enough to describe this man's body. And with that perfect physique, Toji could easily use all the weapons he wanted. Watching how Toji used these weapons was a pleasure for a firearms maniac like the instructor. Because of that, it would be a pity for him if Toji left his shooting range.
On the other hand, if Toji left, Momo would also automatically exit. The twins were VIPs in his place. As the children of a conglomerate family, the two were a barn of money to him. So, his income would drop drastically if the twins left.
"No, we're not going out. At least not for now."
Momo's first sentence made the instructor feel relieved. However, the rest made him uneasy.
"Well, actually, our father intended to build our own shooting range in the basement of our home," Momo explained, "However, the process takes time. So, until that's over, we'll keep training here."
The instructor couldn't hold back his sad expression when he heard that.
Momo practised shooting because she was influenced by Toji, who suddenly wanted to go to the shooting range. In a way, Toji was Momo's primary motivation, so she diligently practised shooting until now. Toji didn't need an instructor because of his extraordinary skills. However, Momo still needed that.
'Unfortunately, even Toji-san can be a much better instructor than me,' the instructor thought sadly.
Momo sighed at his reaction. She knew what her instructor thought.
"Well, there aren't that many firearm shops in Japan. So, at least we still need supplies from you for training purposes, Instructor-san," Momo said, trying to cheer him up.
However, the instructor only answered with a weak mumble, which made Momo let out a tired sigh again. Ignoring the scene before her, Momo chose to fill her magazine slot and continued her training.
However, a small question suddenly crossed the beautiful girl's mind.
'Speaking of shopping, what does Toji-kun want to buy?'
—OoOoO—
He was a savage bastard, a former cold-blooded killer, and a human who underestimates the lives of other humans. However, out of all the vile things that ran through his veins, he loved his family the most. What's more, if it was for his twin sister, he would probably do things he never even imagined.
Yaoyorozu Toji, the person who used to be known as the sorcerer killer, was now shopping at a supermarket in Musutafu city.
With his favourite plain black t-shirt and grey cloth pants, the teenager caught the attention of other visitors. His tall and muscular body, scary face, and sharp eyes made other people avoid meeting Toji's eyes.
Anyone would think Toji might be a yakuza or a villain who would riot in this place. However, the trolley full of groceries and his eyes scanning all the items lining the shelves gave off the opposite impression of his appearance.
After a long search, Toji finally found what he was looking for. However, the well-built teenager was stopped because what he saw did not match his expectations.
"That's all the lima bean they have?"
Toji sighed in disappointment when he only found three cans of lima beans. He wanted a sack full as he planned to make as many nerikiri as possible. However, just three cans of lima beans were not enough to make a lot of nerikiri cookies.
'Better than nothing. The rest I'll try to look elsewhere,' he thought.
Finding lima beans in large quantities in February was arguably quite difficult. Not only because it's a fierce winter now, but the stock of lima beans was also running low in some places.
Toji stepped closer to where the beans were. When he arrived, he was about to reach for the cans. However, before he could do so, a foreign hand swept the three cans and put them in that man's basket.
Toji, who felt irritated, raised his head. He found a tall but slightly thin man standing before him.
The man also looked back at him. He looked like a man who had just entered his 30s, an age that should still be relatively prime. However, his appearance was the complete opposite.
His hair was long and messy, his face was wrinkled, and he looked tired. Under his eyes, there were very thick eye bags. His unkempt moustache and thin beard showed that the grown man didn't really care about his appearance. Moreover, his all-black clothes and white scarf gave him a wrong impression.
"Sorry. Do you want it too?" the man asked in a lazy voice, "I'm fine with sharing a few cans if you don't mind."
However, before Toji was about to reply, he suddenly heard a feminine voice calling out to him from behind.
"Toji-san!"
Toji turned his head to follow the direction of the voice. He found a woman who was not far from him. The woman walked quite quickly toward him. In just a few seconds, she had arrived at where Toji was.
Toji knew the woman. No, he personally didn't know her. It's just that he only knew her name and met her quite often.
Todoroki Fuyumi, the glasses woman's name. Her hair was white, as white as snow in winter. However, there were some natural red patches in her hair. Her unique hair colour combination illustrated that her existence was like a small fire in the snow that would warm anyone around her.
"I'm sorry, mister. I hope he doesn't bother you," said Fuyumi with a deep bow toward the grown man.
The man could only respond in confusion. He didn't understand why Fuyumi suddenly apologized. On the other hand, the corner of Toji's eyebrows twitched at being suddenly accused of being guilty.
However, before Toji could protest, the woman was again ahead of him.
"Toji-san, I have a large supply of lima beans. I don't mind giving it to you, but please don't make trouble here."
"What do you mean by making trouble, you damn glasses? The only problem here is you and your fucking head, you idiot," Toji retorted.
Fuyumi, who heard that reply, just blinked her eyes in confusion.
"Don't you want to take this mister into a fight because he took the thing you wanted to buy first?" asked Fuyumi innocently.
Toji snorted harshly. He was very annoyed with the woman for jumping to such conclusions.
Looking straight into Fuyumi's eyes, Toji replied, "What kind of ridiculous excuse is that? Why should I fight over a few cans of beans?"
Fuyumi's face gradually turned red, as red as a boiled crab. She did not expect to have misunderstood him.
Meanwhile, the lazy-faced man watching the scene he thought was absurd, now in a very awkward condition. He intended to leave the scene without getting involved with the two people's misunderstandings.
"Well, since this lady said she had plenty in stock, I guess it's fine with me bringing these beans, right?" he said lazily and awkwardly.
Without waiting for approval from the person concerned, the man immediately walked away, leaving the pair of a different gender.
Fuyumi, who realized her mistake, quickly bowed deeply toward Toji. Not enough once, Fuyumi bowed repeatedly to show her sincerity.
"I'm sorry, Toji-san. It's really my fault for having misunderstood and misjudged you. I promise this won't happen again in the future."
Still, in a bent position, Fuyumi closed her eyes. She hoped the teenager known as the worst student ever at Musutafu Junior High would forgive her.
'Plus, your face that always looks scary will easily invite misunderstandings. No, it's also my fault for my lack of ability to judge others,' Fuyumi added in her head.
Toji did feel annoyed with the white-haired woman. However, he was even more annoyed that they were the centre of attention now.
After sighing, Toji replied, "Never mind. Just give me the lima beans you have. After that, I'll consider it even, Fuyumi-san."
Fuyumi raised her head. She was surprised to hear Toji calling her "-san". For all she knew, Toji had never even addressed another teacher with a polite and proper name. And because she knew Toji's other side, Fuyumi couldn't help but put on a very bright expression. And for some reason, it bothered Toji a little.
"How much do you need?"
"How many do you have?"
Not wanting to be the centre of attention any longer, Toji stepped away from where they were standing. Beside him, Fuyumi also followed and walked side by side with him.
"I don't know. I never counted it. To be sure, I have a lot because the people in my home really like different kinds of beans."
Hearing that answer, Toji slightly contemplated what answer he should say. After a while, he made up his mind.
"I need a small sack."
Fuyumi slightly flinched at the answer. She never thought Toji would need that much. Subconsciously, her eyes fell on the trolley that Toji pushed in front of him.
There, she could see various kinds of cooking ingredients. One thing that caught her attention was the amount of glutinous rice flour he bought.
"The amount doesn't matter, anyway," Fuyumi replied in a slightly hesitant tone.
The woman hesitated as to whether she should ask or not. The atmosphere around them was already a little lighter, not as hearty as earlier when Fuyumi misunderstood Toji. In fact, Fuyumi thought that Toji was not as bad as the rumours said.
'Well, his overwhelming aura and cruel face make him look menacing. However, talking to him in person is not as bad as I thought. At least, Toji-san feels more flexible in some ways than father.'
After gathering all her courage, Fuyumi finally decided to ask Toji a question.
"If I may ask, what do you intend to do with this much material?"
Toji continued to stroll, with Fuyumi following beside him. He hesitated as to whether he should answer the question. However, when he remembered that Fuyumi was Momo's favourite teacher, it made Toji think there was no harm in telling the woman.
"Nerikiri," Toji replied curtly.
Fuyumi blinked a few times. Her mouth was agape because she didn't expect the answer.
Nerikiri was a traditional Japanese cake. At first glance, nerikiri has a taste similar to mochi. However, in general, nerikiri would taste sweeter and fresher. The variety of shapes tend to make nerikiri more appetizing. In other words, nerikiri was a sweet food that looked cute and described a message the maker wanted to convey to its consumers.
Fuyumi couldn't imagine it. The figure of Toji making cute sweets with bright colours never crossed her mind.
"Nerikiri?" repeated Fuyumi for reassurance and only got a soft nod from Toji.
"Why nerikiri?"
"Momo will be going for an interview at UA the day after tomorrow. So, I wanted to make all of her favourite foods."
Fuyumi quickly turned to Toji. The look in her eyes clearly showed an immense amount of disbelief. In addition, there was also a look of emotion that was difficult to explain.
Really, it never crossed her mind that Toji could be this sweet to his twin sister.
"Stop looking at me like that, woman," Toji said, a little uneasy.
Despite being cursed, Fuyumi didn't feel offended at all. Or rather, Toji's words only entered her right ear and left her left ear without being filtered by her brain first.
'I see, I see. So, Toji-san is that kind of person, huh? He looks fierce and scary on the outside, but if it's dealing with Momo-san, he will show his concern in a unique way. Isn't he like a tsundere delinquent character? So cute.'
Seeing the strange smile that Fuyumi gave off honestly made Toji's eyebrows twitch even more.
After clicking his tongue, Toji said, "Throw away all your fantasies, you woman. I'm not a character from a shoujo manga like you think."
Fuyumi gasped when Toji found out what she was thinking. The woman quickly took her eyes off Toji with a tinge of red on her cheeks.
"Even so, that doesn't change the fact how much you love your sister," Fuyumi replied after overcoming her embarrassment.
"Isn't that normal? We are family, after all."
Fuyumi lowered her head when she heard that reply. She pondered the words of the burly teenager carefully.
'Right, they are family, and that's probably perfectly normal. Unfortunately, what Toji-san thought was normal didn't apply to me.'
The figure of Todoroki Enji, Fuyumi's father, crossed her mind. She had always thought Toji had an air of existence far more terrifying than her father. However, on the other hand, she also knew how much Toji loved his family, especially his twin. She had never felt this simple love. Or rather, the affection within her family never felt complete.
Toji was a sensitive person. The second life he lived in peace and the positive influence that Momo sometimes exerts made Toji more sensitive to the people around him. Even so, Toji was still Toji. Being sensitive didn't necessarily make him sympathize with others.
However, Fuyumi was different. Apart from having helped Momo a lot over the past year, Fuyumi was someone he felt was worthy of his respect. She did her work sincerely and bravely protected her students even though she was terrified. In addition, Toji always felt that Fuyumi was trying to learn to interact with the boy his age.
This seems to say that she found interacting with someone younger than her was complicated. However, she wanted to try to knit that relationship. Or, if Toji had to say, she was trying to reconnect a relationship that was already tangled.
"By the way, why are you here? You don't look like you're buying something," Toji said, trying to change the subject.
"Ah, I actually wanted to buy a new rice cooker. Unfortunately, the product I was looking for was sold out."
Toji, who heard it, only gave a mumble in response. Then, his eyes caught a poster that was quite eye-catching. Inside the poster, printed a picture of a burly man with a big stupid smile. The man wore a costume, which he thought was stupid too.
Toji knew who the character in the poster was. Even though he wasn't his fan, he doubted that there would be anyone who didn't know that figure in this world.
"Fuyumi-san, are the rumours about All Might teaching at UA true?" asked Toji.
In fact, Toji also tried to find why this man had been in Musutafu City for more than a month.
"Eh, why are you asking me about that?"
"You are a teacher, aren't you? I wonder if you've ever heard of that information."
No matter how far Toji searched, he couldn't find any information confirming All Might's future status as a teacher at UA. All he saw were unfounded rumours that came from less credible sources. In short, it's all just speculation.
"Actually, this does not come from the teachers. It's just that I heard my dad say that All Might might actually teach at UA."
"Endeavor said so?"
Fuyumi nodded in reply. Fuyumi was about to add something, but she closed her mouth again.
'If Endeavor had said so, I think I can assume the information is correct.'
There was a good reason why Toji was so curious about this information. After he met with Bakugou Mitsuki months ago at a bar, All Might was regularly seen in action in Musutafu City and its surroundings. In fact, All Might's previously operation centre was mostly in Tokyo.
However, it wasn't something that bothered him. The only thing that made Toji uneasy was All Might's status itself. You could say, All Might was currently the strongest human on earth. Even though Toji didn't like him, he couldn't deny that All Might was number one.
In his previous life, Toji had experience dealing with the so-called strongest or number one. And from his experience, Toji could conclude that those who get the title of the strongest person tend to attract problems. Worse still, there would always be people trying to kill the number one.
'To think that Momo would be taught by a source of trouble like him makes me feel uneasy.'
—OoOoO—
D day has arrived. This was the day Yaoyorozu Momo would be going to UA to do an interview and demonstrate her quirk.
The day was still very early. The cold winter air in the morning felt like it pierced the skin to the bone. In front of the terrace of a luxurious house, stood several people.
Of all those standing there, five people in maid clothes were standing behind the three people facing each other. The three were the twins, Momo and Toji, as well as their mother, Chiyoko.
Like the maids who wore warm clothes, Momo and her mother also wore clothes made of special fabrics for winter. Her mother wore a business suit wrapped in a winter coat, a scarf around her neck, and black gloves. Meanwhile, Momo wore her full middle school uniform and a dark blue coat to maintain her body temperature. In addition, a pink scarf was around her neck, and her hands were wrapped in yellow gloves.
If everyone wore warm clothes, Toji was different. Toji only wore his night clothes. There was no scarf or thick cloth attached to his body. To him, the coldness he felt was nothing. He didn't feel cold or anything. Thanks for his heavenly restriction body, which permanently eliminates the negative effects on Toji's body.
"Bring this," said Toji, handing her a large box of food wrapped in a red cloth,
Momo looked at the box Toji gave her in confusion. She never knew that her brother had prepared something for her.
"I have prepared many of your favourite foods here. So, eat a lot and have energy for your interview later."
"Thank you very much, Toji-kun. However, … isn't this a little too much?" asked the sweatdropped Momo. "I'll just do an interview and quirk demonstration, you know?"
"Well, we don't know what will happen next. So, it's better to eat a lot than sorry."
Momo's quirk was creation, a quirk that allowed her to create all sorts of things, except for organic materials. The source of Momo's quirk was body fat. She could turn her body fat into stuff according to her imagination, as long as she understands the atomic structure of those things.
In other words, it was a power that sounded very practical, but in reality, it was a power that was very draining on both energy and thought.
"Again, thank you very much, Toji-kun. I'm very happy to get this from you," Momo said while hugging Toji happily.
"Get away from me, midget."
Ignoring her brother's words, Momo continued to hug Toji. She really enjoyed the warmth of Toji's body transferred to her skin. However, she knew she couldn't stay in this position forever. So, after a few seconds, Momo let go of the hug.
On the other hand, Chiyoko—their mother—and the maids who witnessed the closeness of the twins couldn't help but smile warmly.
"By the way, since when did you make this? Considering your nature, the kitchen is too clean. Have you been more diligent and cleaned the kitchen after using it?"
The questions and innuendos came from his mother. Toji saw the short-haired woman and snorted in annoyance.
"I made it at my acquaintance's place."
That short reply made Momo and his mother flinch. They couldn't hide their shocked face from Toji.
"Toji-kun, you finally have a friend?"
A twitch appeared on Toji's forehead when he heard his sister's innocent question. And the twitch grew even more when he heard his mother making an 'ooh' sound in admiration.
"Just forget it. The point is, eat a lot later."
"It's okay, even though you don't want to tell this Onee-chan of yours. Just make sure to introduce this your friend to me, okay?"
"She's not my friend, stupid," Toji replied curtly, which in the end was just ignored by Momo.
Actually, after he met Fuyumi the day before yesterday, the woman offered Toji to cook at a cooking class run by her friend. Fuyumi was very excited about the idea of Toji cooking Momo's favourite food for her interview. Because she was so excited, Fuyumi suggested that Toji should make it a surprise.
Because of that, she offered her help to Toji. And Toji himself also liked the idea of surprising his sister. Even though it wasn't his style, he was sure, Momo would like to be given a surprise. Because of that, Toji accepted Fuyumi's offer.
"Ah, one more thing," Toji said quickly before Momo, "Do your best, got it? I'm going to take the entrance test to UA next month to major in heroism. So, I hope we can go to the same class again this time."
Toji's declaration made everyone who heard it subconsciously widen their eyes. From everything they imagined, it never occurred to them that Toji would take the UA entrance exam. Everyone here knew that Toji was a person who disliked the hero system in this world. In fact, they were also aware that Toji openly hated people who only saw things based on black-and-white frames drawn up by state officials.
Because of that, Toji entering the school of heroism was something they never put on the list.
"Wait, are you sure? You?" Chiyoko, Toji's mother, said to her son with a surprised face.
"Of course. I've thought this through."
Chiyoko sighed while massaging her head which suddenly felt dizzy. Many mixed feelings the mother of two children felt now. As a normal parent, she should be happy with her child's wish. However, Chiyoko knew her son very well.
She was absolutely sure that Toji had no desire to be a hero at all. This might sound harsh, but Chiyoko also believed that her son didn't have the values to be a hero. In strength, Toji did fulfil it without the slightest doubt. However, for the social values that the heroes uphold, Toji didn't have them at all.
As a mother, she sometimes felt that her son was very different from other children. He didn't idolize heroes like others. Though he didn't personally hate heroes in general, either. However, Toji clearly had the view that the system adopted by society today was far from healthy.
A society that gave you the view that heroes were always on the good side and villains were the bad ones was a fatal mistake. Heroes who sincerely work on the front lines deserve appreciation. However, generalizing all heroes was a mistake. In fact, Toji found it strange that people idolized Endeavor even though the man had many scandals.
Public opinion based only on black and white principles would make it easier for cunning people to infiltrate heroic institutions. Because heroes were considered good and holy people, it was easier to hide radicals in these sacred institutions.
Worse, the people who deified All Might were the dumbest people Toji has ever had. All Might was a normal phenomenon according to Toji. Toji did acknowledge that person's strength, though. In society, with superpowers you could meet in all corners of the world, the appearance of a person as strong as All Might was not a miracle. In fact, Toji thinks All Might was just an ordinary human.
To make an ordinary human a symbol was the greatest folly ever. How humans deify All Might was proof that the peace was only temporary, a peace that was only supported on a thin layer of ice. If All Might disappeared, that peace would be gone. The ice sheet that supports it would crumble. And in the end, the world would fall into great chaos.
Forget about heroes and villains. According to Toji, the only ones who deserved great appreciation were the police and the military. Unlike the heroes who were not regulated by a clear standard of procedure, and no law bound them strictly. The duties of the police and military were regulated in very clear laws. What they can and can't do was written in bold there. Because of that, monitoring them was much easier than monitoring heroes in an obscure position.
You easily monitor the police and military, and it would make it difficult for these institutions to be infiltrated by radical ideas. However, with heroes operating without clear standards and laws, it could be hard to judge how they actually perform.
And Chiyoko, despite never having heard the direct opinion of her son, understood very well what Toji was thinking. Because she was also dissatisfied with the status quo, which had been sitting idle for a long time. Because of that, she had until now considered Toji, a suitable person to be the next Yaoyorozu family head.
Toji had an objective assessment. He wasn't swayed by fanaticism towards heroism or anything like that. As a businessman, this mentality was very valuable. Because that way, you would be able to see all the possible opportunities.
That's why hearing her son declare that he would enter UA made Chiyoko realize one thing, Toji must have his own considerations.
"Are you sure you're going to UA, my son?" asked Chiyoko, to which Toji nodded.
"In that case, I will trust your decision. Just tell me your reasons later, okay?" Chiyoko said and turned her gaze to Momo, "Momo-chan, let's go now, shall we?"
Without waiting for her daughter's reply, Chiyoko rushed off to the car that had been prepared. On the other hand, Momo still stared at her brother intently.
"I'm delighted with your decision, though," Momo said with her hands on her hips, "However, you have to explain your reasons to me later, understand?"
"Yeah… yeah…, I understand," Toji replied, rolling his eyes.
Momo puffed her cheeks in annoyance at Toji's nonchalant answer. However, she had no choice but to wait for Toji to say the reason later. On top of that, she was now also running out of time.
Turning around with mixed feelings, Momo walked towards the car where there was already a private driver and her mother waiting.
—OoOoO—
One month has passed since Momo's interview, so she could enter UA through the recommendation route. Time has flown since then, and many things have changed since one month ago. Although not very significant, change was still changed.
When winter was fierce this March, many teenagers around 15 years old gathered at one of the facilities at UA High School. They were all teenagers who would become heroes and enforcers of justice. The fresh and optimistic faces were proof of their seriousness in risking their future to become part of this big UA family.
However, among thousands of participants who were very serious about their dreams, one person took this test with slightly unclear motivation.
'Although the recommendation student acceptance announcement hasn't come out yet, Momo will definitely pass. Her quirk is invaluable, and her vast knowledge makes her even more perfect. Plus, her good shooting ability will make her score even higher.'
Although not interested in being a hero, Toji took the entrance test to UA High School, which was held publicly.
Actually, the reason was quite simple. Toji had a bad feeling about the rumours that the Number One, All Might, would teach at UA. And Toji personally had a bad experience with the person with that title.
Based on his experience as an assassin, there would be many people who wanted Number One's life. In fact, Toji was one of the many people who had dealt with the Number One. In addition, when his body information was used to resurrect him in the Shibuya Incident, Toji received information from the soul trying to control him, that Gojou Satoru had been sealed.
It was clear that they, who held the title of Number One, would always be a disaster magnet for those around them. And on top of that, Momo would enter into an environment where the Number One, All Might, would do his daily routine.
Actually, Toji wanted to take this bad premonition of his as a baseless one and just ignore it. He wanted Momo to be more independent and not affected by the nasty rumours that Toji often got. However, the last time Toji ignored his bad premonition, he ended up losing his life at the hands of Gojou Satoru.
'I've done my best on the written test. However, I don't know the minimum bar to pass this test. I don't want to be too flashy, and competing with these rancid kids makes me sick. However, I have no choice but to aim for as many points as possible to ensure my place.'
Toji, wore his middle school tracksuit, observed the other participants. He ensured again that he didn't miss a single piece of information. This time, his opponent was a robot, which relieved him because he didn't need to worry that his opponents would die when they received his attack.
A shrill scream from the host, which Toji hated, echoed throughout the hall where the participants from this zone.
With one loud thump on his feet, Toji jumped forward at speed normal human eyes could not follow. The jump carried Toji through the crowd of participants in an instant.
A fairly wide crater formed when his feet landed on a paved road. Without waiting for a second, Toji jumped again to where the robots were. With great accuracy, Toji purposely landed right on top of the robot he found. The robot shattered instantly because Toji landed directly on top of it. Repeating the same method, there were already too many robots that Toji had knocked down in just one hit … or maybe one landed.
Thanks to his Heavenly Restriction body, it wasn't difficult for Toji to track the location of the robots. At first, he could only sense the aura of the existence of living beings. However, in this era that was more advanced than his previous world, an era where robots were common things he encountered on the streets every day, Toji did a little experiment with his own body.
Instead of feeling the life energy that supports living beings, Toji tried to feel the energy that supports these electronic objects. Just like humans, robots should also need the energy to keep them "alive". However, if human life energy was more spiritual, robotic life energy was something that physics could easily explain.
Therefore, by sensing the amount of electrical energy that supports the life of the robots, Toji could precisely pinpoint the location of the robots.
"I thought these robots would be more powerful, but it turns out it's nothing more than scrap metal."
It didn't matter if it was a type 1 or 2 robots. All of them fell with just one attack … or landed. Toji's expectations of the robots were not met, which disappointed him.
'Only the zero-point robot hasn't appeared yet. Since the robots don't earn points, I guess there will be many of them and litter all over the arena to annoy the participants. However, none of them has appeared, which means that the robot was deliberately expelled last for a certain purpose.'
Not feeling any more robots, Toji walked to the side of the road. He easily pulled a pole by the roadside and split it in two. Toji rubbed the ends of the pole at high speed so that the tip became as sharp as a spear.
'I don't know what kind of robot it is, but it would be best if I had some preparation.'
After seeing the impromptu spear he created, Toji suddenly felt enormous energy. Because his view was blocked by the surrounding buildings, he jumped up and landed on one of the building's roofs.
From there, Toji could see a lot of participants running toward the safe zone with their panicked faces. However, apart from that, a scene caught the attention of the youngest Yaoyorozu. A giant robot of about 60 meters lunged into the crowd.
"Bringing such a big thing just for a test? This time you guys exceeded my expectations, damn it."
Toji's blood pumped a little faster when he saw a massive object about 40 meters from where he was standing. The spear he made earlier, he threw very hard at the giant robot. That high-powered throw was enough to hurl the pole at speed close to Mach one.
Without any significant obstacles, the iron that Toji threw hit the robot's giant body. And like sticking a nail into a piece of paper, Toji's iron kept going until it penetrated the back of the robot's body. Which, in the end, made the robot stop moving.
"What? Just like that? Did I accidentally hit the main circuit?"
Although Toji could feel the presence of a robot through the electrical energy that supplies its life force, he couldn't see the robot's weak point at all. This applied to robots and all whose body structures Toji did not know.
Therefore, being able to hit the robot's main circuit and causing the robot to lose its function was purely a coincidence that Toji rarely encountered.
"Sigh… I thought it would be stronger," complained Toji, disappointed that his expectations had to crumble once again.
—OoOoO—
"This year, there are a lot of promising examinees."
"Right. We have a brat with an explosive quirk in zone 1. In zone 2, a blonde boy can imitate other people's quirks he touches. Still in the same zone, that short-haired girl is also very great. Her quirk is unique, and how she fights with nails and hammer also impressed me."
"Yeah, they're great. But, above all, the one in zone 3 is amazing. He beat zero points robot just like that."
In the monitoring room at UA High School, many people gathered to monitor the entrance exam. They were all teachers who were pro heroes at the same time. Their attention was focused on zone three now, the zone where the practical exam took place much faster than the estimated time.
"That kid not only defeated the zero-point robot with an iron spear he made from a pole but also almost destroyed all of the robots in the area," said the slightly shabby long black-haired man.
'And if I'm not mistaken, wasn't he the one at the supermarket back then with the lady with the glasses?' he added.
"Although the official data is not out yet, I'm pretty sure he will get the highest points in UA history and be the fastest at the same time."
The only inhuman in the room rubbed his chin while watching the large monitor showing the test situations in the various zones. The creature resembled a polar bear, but its body was as small as a mouse's, and it had some of the attributes of a horse. With his tiny body, he was the only figure standing on the table.
"His name is Yaoyorozu Toji, right? He's the twin brother of Yaoyorozu Momo, who signed up through the recommendation," said the inhuman being.
A teacher who heard Nezu's, the mouse-like being, words began to turn the document pages containing information about the participants.
"Oh, right. He's Yaoyorozu Toji from Musutafu Junior High. His quirk … Heavenly Restriction?"
"Heavenly Restrictions? What the hell is that?" asked the lazy-faced man with his long, matted black hair.
"Who knows. Obviously, his quirk looks like a superhuman strength type."
There was one thing that was interesting about the naming of Toji's quirk. Actually, the person who registered the quirk and gave it a name was not Toji but his mother. His mother did that when Toji was eight years. Actually, Toji did not have a problem and did not care about his quirk's name because Toji didn't have it in the first place.
However, because her mother knew that life without quirk would be very difficult, and Toji's physical strength, which was far from normal, would attract a lot of attention in the future, this woman of two children falsified Toji's personal data a little. Therefore, she registered Toji's abnormal body as a quirk.
And because she felt that the human restrictions on Toji's body had been removed by heaven, this led her to name Toji's ability Heavenly Restriction.
"Yaoyorozu Toji from Musutafu Junior High," murmured one of the sensually dressed women.
"What's wrong, Kayama? Do you know him?" asked one of the men in a unique costume that looked like a tractor.
"Not really. I've only heard from a friend who teaches there. She said that kid has a ton of bad rumours."
Kayama Nemuri, more familiarly called the Midnight Lady, was a hero with exotic black hair. She was arguably a hero who was quite unique or even had no morals. Her costume, which looked like a striptease dancer, has made people complain about her status as one of the teachers at UA.
Kayama licked her lips lightly when she saw the image of Toji on the screen. In a sensual tone, the woman expresses her first impression of the teenager.
"Whatever it is, he has a great body. The cut on the corner of his lips makes him look even sexier."
Aizawa Shouta, a person with long black hair slightly dimpled and a lazy face, looked at his colleague with disdain.
"Stop acting like a whore, Midnight. After all, we're here to screen students, not find your ideal type. And on top of that, he is still a fucking minor."
"What Aizawa-kun said is true," said the white mouse-like creature, "Yaoyorozu Toji-kun has great potential. Despite all the bad rumours, we can't reject him because he definitely gets high points. It is our duty as teachers who must guide him to become a good hero in the future."
"Well, whatever the rumours, you can't deny that he's amazing. He is a genius who is very talented in fighting," said Midnight, who voiced her opinion again.
Midnight looked back, noticing the figure of a 24-year-old man who had been silent all this time without giving any comment.
"Speaking of geniuses, don't we have one here too?"
Midnight's words invited all pairs of eyes to follow the woman's direction. All the attention was now focused on the man Midnight was referring to.
The man with unique glasses and has a tall stature and ideal body posture. The contours of his face look firm. His blonde hair combed neatly to the side gave off an impression that matched his formal attire.
"What do you think? He can break all your records easily. Are you feeling excited, Nanami-kun?"
Nanami Kento. Hero's name, Nanami. Quirk, Ratio, a quirk that allowed him to divide his target with imaginary ten lines, and forcibly created a weak spot at the ratio of seven to three. Or at least, that's what he wrote in his personal data. He was an underground hero whose name was not well-known but got a lot of respect from his peers for his abilities and achievements.
Nanami Kento, who had been watching the monitor screen silently for so long, now furrowed his brows as if trying to contain all the turmoil he felt.
"I … do really hate people like him," Nanami said, annoyed that he didn't hide.
'Of all people, why the fuck did that bastard also come to this world?' Nanami added in his head.
