Everything was blurring together since the blinding flash of something that had struck her after the door to what the panting cop had dreaded to be the room, she'd die in was blasted open with the force of a wrecking ball. Her only comfort as she'd skidded across the floor was the hazy glow of orange and the following blasts of bluish-red energy of a weapon, she knew all too well to be from the one she'd thought lost in an earlier fight.

"Stupid badass." She hears being yelled at her by the one yet to drop said weapon as Maggie attempted another dragged crawl towards her newly arrived requires.

"Got'cha Mags." Kara rather than Alex promises as a pair of stronger than human strength arms slip under Maggie's weakened legs and against her back in an unwavering bridal carry before Maggie lost her struggle against both her fatigue and the buzzing hum of something clouding her mind.

"….ed light, red light….Kara red light."

Maggie hears what could have been days, hours, or possible simply minutes later dimly followed by the protesting groan of breaks and tiers then the shrill blaring of what could have been a car horn as the car she was now riding in lurches to one side before speeding up under her.

"No time…. road safety, Alex."

"…rather she gets… blood loss but breathing…. lunatic car wreck." The one the groggy cop truly hoped was Alex's much closer and more welcomed voice argues as the car makes another fishtailed turn onto another street as Maggie struggles once more to stay awake.

More pressure on the worst of the somehow already healing wounds she'd been given on her in hindsight suicidal one-woman mission to beat a confession from whoever she had to, to bring back the woman she loved. "Stay with me, Sawyer." The teenager hovering over her urges as what Maggie guessed to be a blood-slicked hand squeezes her own.

She tried to make her voice work. She tried to tell the blurring face over her about the copy of the destroyed 'time gun' she'd found being recreated in the same room she'd found what she dreaded was Ezra's beaten body. The sight alone triggered a blinding rage so strong Maggie hadn't even thought to check if her young friend was still breathing before charging out to avenge him.

"—l-love you." Maggie wills herself to say already knowing that regardless of her body already puzzling ability to heal them she was losing too much blood to bother believing she was going to see the inside of a hospital.

"We're not doing this, Sawyer. Not yet." The teenager still cradling her in the car's backseat answers with a tone far more mature than her current age. "You're a badass remember?"

"See you around, Danvers." Maggie slurs in response her eyes now squinting against the glaring bright lights of the hospital's emergency entrance.

"Don't you dare leave us, Maggie" Kara barked from the front seat as Alex fumbled to open the passenger side door. The last orders Maggie heard passed the hazy fog of unconsciousness.

"Miss please I'm not trying to….. dammit code gray, code gray I need some help in here….hey kid wait…, you two. Stop her."

The yelled calls came in such quick succession that all Alex and Kara could really do was look around with mirrored puzzled expressions seconds before a hurried figure seeming of equal age to the teens themselves collided with them in her mad attempt to flee the also running hospital worker chasing her down the hallway.

Alex's only answer was a dazed "Gertrude?" once her gaze landed on one of the things sent falling from the other teen's hands in the collision.

Not even Kara had regained enough of her senses in the suddenness of the fall to be able to stop her when the dark-haired and tanned-skinned teenager hastily pushed herself up only managing to snatch up both the plushy dog Alex had sworn, she'd left 'guarding' Maggie's bedside once the detective had been brought out of surgery as well as a ripped half of a photograph that had fallen face down in the trios tangled slid across the hospital floor before the 'escapee' was off again in an all-out sprint towards freedom.

How she was managing such an impressive speed given the sticky stain of red against what Alex had seen of her hospital gown under the rolled waistband of scrub pants the heard hitting girl had been wearing was a wonder.

A half beat later Alex was jogging to follow her only to be stopped by the appearance of her mother and Lena farther along the hallway. "Not now Mom." The teenager barked at her mother's questioning look as Alex dodged around her the same second the stairwell door swung closed behind the slightly familiar leather jacket clade figure.

"Alexandra." Eliza called after her

"She stole my dog," Alex yelled back shoving the door out of her way. Kara was right behind her as the two paused to attempt to catch just how far their injured target had gotten. Well, Kara did anyway Alex only stopped after the first stairwell with an expectant "Well?" in her more added hearing younger sister's direction.

"She got away." The out-of-breath resident who'd also been chasing after the new girl confessed rejoining them before Kara had a chance of answering "I thought I had her when I managed to grab this but…." Alex was already snatching the jacket away from him before he'd finished talking. She also makes a point of ramming her shoulder as hard as she was able into his side as she pushed passed him to continue her own search.

"Where do you think you're going?" Eliza questioned as the scrub clade man gave a dejected sigh before a call on his pager had him hurrying once again back up the stairs.

"To get my dog back." Alex answered back already tossing Maggie's now blood-splattered coat around her shoulders at the sudden chill of the hospital stairwell. "Also ask why she tried to steal Maggie's jacket." She adds almost as an afterthought.

"She wasn't stealing Maggie's jacket." Everyone who wasn't Kara started in surprise when J'onn phased through the wall a few steps down from the held-up teenagers. "That was Maggie."
