This took longer then I would have liked. I guess something's can't be helped. Anyway, we're here at chapter 10 at least. A thank everyone who been with this story so far and I hope we can keep going to the end.

Disclaimer: Don't own the franchise. If I did I probably wouldn't be writing fanfic.

The orange red hue of the setting sun filled the sky overhead. Within a small clearing a deer wandered around seemingly on edge at something. Overhead a crow handed on a branch looking down at the deer. At a quick glance nothing seemed off about the bird. A closer look would have revealed that its feathers seemed more unkempt, its talons a bit sharper, the beaks of the bird had a slight razor bladed edge to it, and finally a taint of red existed in the creature's eyes. Eyes that stared down as the deer not for itself but for the bird's master.

In a rush the wary animal turned its head and tried to run away. A sword came flying into the ground in front of the beast causing the animal to pause for just a moment. In that moment claws dug into its side as superior strength held the beast down. As the fangs bit down the cry of the animal was heard for a moment as the blood within it was sapped away. Its eyes glazed over as life soon came to an end.

Shirou removed his fangs from the now dead animal as the crow landed on the flesh carcass. A sigh escaped his mouth as he recalled what had happened four years ago. In that time he had seemingly awakened a need to drink blood more regularly, which wasn't really all that much compared to what he had expected. Part of it was probably due to the way he was made, maybe the knowledge of what went into him was very much missing, and a part of it was probably Avalon's lingering influence. Whatever the case he had been subsisting when needed on animals.

As for the crow it was one of Shirou's first real familiar as well as a former 'victim' of his vampiric impulse returning. It had been more of an accident at first but Shirou found that it worked rather well with helping him hunt and even watch the place ahead for any people or the weird insects that flew around the city. "Yata you eat up I guess I'm heading home."

Naming his familiar was kind of pointless. So, too was speaking with the bird as its will wasn't strong enough to do anything but acknowledge whatever Shirou desired. Rin would have probably pointed out that a familiar is nothing but an extension of him as very few familiars had the ability to move or exist independently of their creator. Such was proven as his familiar after having taken a few bites of flesh from the dead animal headed into the sky to perform the role of making sure his path home was without any eye witnesses.

As night came over the sky the carcass laid bare waiting for any scavengers to come and get it. What did find it first wasn't a simple scavenger or a predator who had found an easy meal. Such is the natural order of things. However, what had found the carcass first wasn't some woodland scavenger or run away pet turn feral animal. It was a tall woman with blonde twin tails whose gaze fell on the lack of blood where the animal had been killed and the bite marks on the deer's neck.

Bite marks that she had a good understanding of where they came from. A rather intimate understanding given that she was of the same kind who could have done this. "Another Dead Apostle was here?"

Hunting animals wasn't his style that was for sure. This had to mean that another Dead Apostle had come to the area either on their own or with him and she didn't know which was worse. 'I might have to try to find and confront whomever this is just to be safe.'

Walking back into the house Shirou headed for where everyone most likely was. Opening the room he saw Taigs looking over the tv with the smell and sounds of dinner being cooked within the kitchen. His guardian turned head head to the side as she saw that Shirou had finally returned. "There you are, you almost missed dinner!" Taiga quickly reminded herself why he went out as he did. "I guess for you it would be seconds."

Years had passed since she learned the truth about the two siblings, about what Kiritsugu was, and the world hidden from the view of the normal world. The years had gone through her being paranoid about youkai, to actually wondering about how Magecraft worked. Shirou's new found need to drink blood had caused her to offer her own blood but Shirou immediately shot that down. Sure, he probably could only drink enough to not cause her immediate harm but he didn't want to risk the other thing that came with letting a Dead Apostle feed on you.

"I wouldn't call it seconds," Honestly, it was more akin to thirst than actual hunger. He technically didn't need to eat but doing so was something he was so used to he might as well.

"Well, could you at least set the table then?" From the kitchen the voice of Illya called out. Sixteen years old and looking like her mother much like how Kiritsugu had figured. Nearly as something about her chest made her realize that they were going to end up bigger than her mother's. Which was probably due to Kiritsugu's genetic donation or more likely from Illya's paternal grandmother.

Almost immediately as she heard this Taiga took her seat at the table as Shirou put everything down with Illya sitting at what would be considered the head of the table as the three of them started to eat. "You know Illya," Taiga's voice was muffled a bit as she spoke with food in her mouth. "I can't barely tell the difference when you're cooking compared to you both."

"Well, I did have a lot of practice," There was also the part of it being an extension of her knowledge of alchemy. Some forms of physical alchemy did need to be properly cooked. "Also, Shirou here had made me realize when the best moment to stop was."

Having greater senses than a human was a surprisingly good help with cooking. Probably not the intended use of his senses but it worked. "Honestly, your future husband would probably be running home to eat this every night."

Taiga's tease caused Illya to blush a bit. Of course, Taiga would try to tease her about her relationship status. Illya did have a few admirers after all. Before she could commit this her mind fantasized about a suspiciously familiar redhead in the stereotypical salarymen suite. "Y-you know that won't happen like that!"

Not that it technically couldn't happen but it was unlikely. She was a Magus, a Homunculus, and technically the sixth head of the Emiya family. A normal life that was basically impossible for her to have in any real capacity. At least that was what Illya thought as she was pretty much the only homunculus to her knowledge that was basically living her life like this. Well, not the only one as Shirou's existence was in a way like her but also not completely.

"Actually, now that I think about it, what are you going to do when you get older, Shirou?" Taiga pointed at the Dead Apostle who was sitting across from her.

"Well, I guess I would try to find my mother," They had given their guardian some idea about Shirou's mother. How he had been separated from her by the fire and was likely worried for him if not trying to locate him. "After that I was thinking about trying to complete Kiritsugu's dream of being a Hero of Justice."

A Hero of Justice was what Kiritsugu had wanted to be and Shirou had promised his dying father that he would become one. Accidentally stumbling on the Einzbern Castle in Fuyuki and the fallout of that had caused him to think long and hard about the promise. Especially with the realization of him getting pleasure from killing. Years had passed and Shirou had accepted that it was just something that was something that didn't fully control him. Although, the fact he was a Dead Apostle did kind of make it seem a bit harder to accomplish without constant fighting.

Dead Apostles were beings that Zouken Matou didn't enjoy having to converse with. Even if one would to point out by all rights that he was one himself even if he wasn't a vampire. A Dead Apostle Superior per the classification used by both their kind and the Church if they had known about him. Which was the point of why he hated having to converse directly with Dead Apostles unless necessary. "So, what do I owe the pleasure of having one of you come up to me?"

Sitting across from the old colony of insects was a man who looked like he was no less than in his early twenties. A look that was deceiving as Zouken knew that Dead Apostles rarely looked how they actually were. His features were european, dirty blonde hair with red eyes and casual wear with a simple jacket. By all rights gave him the look of a man who was just here to sight see. "Reflex Miriki I took steps to keep from altering either the Church or the Mages Association about my presence here."

"At least that is good to know," Those words didn't fully help with his current mood but they did at least make it so that Zouken didn't mind listening. Who knows he might be able to figure out if this could help him.

"As for why I am here that requires a bit of context," Zouken figured as much. For a brief moment he thought it pertained to the boy, to Shirou Emiya the only other Dead Apostle living in Fuyuki. "As you know the seats for a few Dead Apostle Ancestors are currently vacant."

How could he not as those seats had been vacant for a long time. Either because a potential claimant hadn't come about or anyone who came close to the spot had ended up dead the seats of the Twelfth, Nineteenth, and the Twenty-sixth seats were still open with no Ancestor. "Yes, I know though I don't think this visit is to tell me I been chosen as a viable candidate for one of the positions."

Usually vampires were given preference over beings like him who fit the label of Dead Apostle. That didn't mean there wasn't a possibility, Zouken knew that much, but usually for Apostles like himself it was better to try to kill and claim the position. "Not quite," The younger looking of the two leaned in a bit from his seat. "I am a candidate for the position of the Twenty-sixth Ancestor."

Like a switch the feeling between the two Dead Apostles. This wasn't just some random busy body for the Ancestors or a semi-independent Apostle. No this one was an up comer amongst their kind likely with the backing and support to take the position. "If that is the case why are you here of all places?"

Zouken could think of a few reasons. First was to take part in the Holy Grail War which was technically impossible for a Dead Apostle. Technically as Zouken knew there was a loophole and if there was one then there had to be others. The other probably pertains to the only other Dead Apostle living in the area. Other than that the only other thing was to take out a potential rival to the position. Such would mean owing Zouken Matou a favor in the future. However, whatever it was, if it proved too much of a hassle he would turn it down. The last thing he wanted was the Holy Church or the Mages Association coming after him.

"There is a second candidate for my position and I had come here to get the means to not really get the power to make my claim unchallenged but also to kill her to ensure I take the position," Such was the power struggle of a seat that was open with no chosen Successor. A vacuum that was open with someone having to fill the spot. "What I ask for concerns your alliance with the Tohsaka."

Zouken's attention was now fully peaked. His alliance with the Tohsaka was originally from when the Three Founding Families of the Holy Grail War had come together. While the Einzberns had fallen into the rather distant Zouken had kept his agreement with the Tohsaka to be allies when the war was not on. "My alliance with the Tohsaka is one that benefits me greatly so if this is something that negatively impacts them I can't allow myself to take part in helping you."

There was a silence between them as the younger in appearance of the two had a brief flash of annoyance at this. However, as brief as it was the Dead Apostle understood that an alliance that lasted this long was probably one worth a lot to a Dead Apostle, even one as unorthodox as Zouken Matou. "I guess their current change in status into a branch family of the Edelfelts wouldn't change your mind either?"

Now there was something that Zouken had mixed feelings about. Oh, he had known for a long time that the younger Edelfelt sister had married into the Tohsakas. Hell, he even knew that she had managed to somewhat convinced Tokiomi that the Jewel Magecraft she had taught him was how the Tohsaka had always done which was probably helped by the passing of his father while he was young. Furthermore, Zouken knew that as time went on she had begun to regret her discussion to fake her death without letting her old family know. Somehow, Rin Tohsaka had managed to find out about the truth and now reconnect the two. For a time it made him worry about his investment but it seemed that the Edelfelt either didn't know about Sakura's connection to them or didn't care.

Until stated otherwise it was likely that his alliance with the Tohsaka extended to them. Though given the distance he did not trust them and that was likely mutual. "In a way they are my allies as well and I rather not bring them down on me."

Neither said anything for a few moments after that was said. It had seemed to Zouken's guest that whatever he had come for had fallen through. As he moved to leave someone entered the room. "Grandfather I wa-" Shinji stopped as he saw the other individual in the room. "Who are you?"

The words Shinji used were caught by the Dead Apostle. Given Zouken's age it was possible that he wasn't his grandson but at the very least his great-grandson. That is if he had become a Dead Apostle at least by the time of the Third Holy Grail War. "My name is Erikson and I was here about a deal with your grandfather," Erikson turned his head over to Zouken. "I take it he is your heir to the Matou magecraft?"

"That boy?" Zouken was almost insulted by the very idea. His potential in magecraft was practically nothing despite the hope he originally had for the failure. Right now he is only really good for one thing and it was high time to reveal it to him. "He is not my heir."

Hearing those words caused Shinji to stare at Zouken as a mix of emotions came over the boy. Frustration, anger, confusion, and a tiny bit of despair at just hearing this. All of which was picked up by Erikson who could guess the theory he had about the Matou family being poisoned by Zouken was correct. "I see there is something you have to settle with the boy," Passing by Shinji Erikson spoke just loud enough for the boy to be the only one to hear him. "There is an abandoned warehouse near the docks I'll be staying at if you want some help."

"I am the Bone of my Sword."

All around him was the barren landscape of weapons. Some normal and mundane edged into the ground as the blood flowing cracks moved under them. Others had more power behind them and seemed to command his attention.

"Steel is my Body, and Fire is my Heart."

The moon hugged overhead, its red glow having no bearing on the bright yet cloudy sky. Shirou knew that it was a sign of what he was. An echo from the being who was responsible for the existence of all Dead Apostles as well as their predecessors. The contrast between the red lit moon and the bright sky seemed rather unfitting for what he one meant. Yet, the contrast fit with who he was perfectly.

"From these Claws I wield a Thousand Weapons."

Standing in front of him was himself. The remnant of who Shirou Emiya was. An echoed ghost of a dead personality. As Shirou had aged so too had this ghost but overtime his appearance seemed to fade. Fading with the return of his memories of who he was and the life before the fire.

"Seeking the Past, Reaching for the Future."

On top of the hill was a pair of swords. A pair that Shirou had been given as a gift for his eighth birthday. There history was largely one of being locked away before being found. They were not used heavily if at all before being given to him from his mother from her treasury. As he looked at them his mind glitched as did the world. This wasn't because of the swords themselves. No, it was because something was being blocked out as he looked at them. A voice echoed throughout the world. The voice of his mother.

"Shirou, do you know what I wanted to be?"

The world seemed to collapse around him as Shirou found himself walking back up again. The bare minimum of sunlight from the breaking dawn was just poking through. It had been a full year since he last had a dream like that. 'It's been four years and I can't even get a single memory of what she looked like!'

Most of his memories from before the fire had returned to him in some form or another. Some were faded and others were just random bits of information. Still, no matter how much he could recall his mind seemed to glitch whenever he tried to recall his mother. Something was refusing to let him see her and he knew without a doubt it wasn't him. 'What's stopping me?'

Shirou only now realized that someone was laying next to him. There was only one person that could have been and with a mere look down he got his answer as he saw the white locks of hair that belonged to Illya. 'She did it again?'

When they were younger it seemed somewhat ok for the both of them to sleep in the same bed together but as of late that was starting to get rather weird. It didn't help Taiga had caught them once and made the situation infinitely awkward. Mostly at his own expense. "Illya," Shirou tried to push her awake but all it did seem to succeed is her gripping him tightly. "Illya come on you can't just do this anymore."

Anyone would be surprised and impressed by the fact that Illya could still sneak into his room. Shirou even questioned at times how she could even do this. The answer was probably because he instinctively didn't see her as a threat. Whatever the reason it was just something that Shirou had given up on explaining or figuring it out. His attempts to wake her up wasn't going to work unless he tried something a bit more forcefully.

"Shirou… welcome home…" Illya only muttered to herself in her sleeping state. What she was dreaming Shirou didn't know but whatever it was had something to do with him. "Do you want…"

She mumbled something practically unintelligible to him. Deciding that getting her to wake up was going to be impossible without some form of force he tried to wiggle out of her grasp. After a few attempts he succeeded, leaving Illya to sleep until she finally woke up. 'Well, there is no school today at least.'

Rin picked out her luggage bag as she let out a tired sigh. Her sleep schedule was basically destroyed once again as she had to fly from Finland back to Japan. A part of her mind immediately cursed Kirei for the agreement between himself and the then Head of the Edelfelt family. Her trips to Finland were, of course, to get her fully prepared for the role of her family as a branch of the Edelfelt family and how they did things. 'Why did he agree to this arrangement I would never know.'

She had expected him to be more bothered and while he did seem somewhat phased by events he was rather accepting once the terms were laid out. For one Rin's financial situation was no longer his to control as the Edelfelt would never allow a relative's fortune to be wasted like the way Kirei was. He still got to be legally her guardian and was allowed to have a hand in teaching her magecraft. One part, however, he had gotten was having her return anytime he got called away on a mission. Something told her that he was quite happy with the agreement as he deliberately picked the worst times.

"Come on Rin we don't want to be late getting to Fuyuki now," The voice of her cousin Luvia cut through her annoyed musings. The soon to be Head of the Edelfelt family and boy had she and her slowly found themselves into what could be said to be a rivalry. "I can't wait to see my dear Shero again."

Annoyance came over Rin as she caught Luvia using that name. Oh, Rin knew that Luvia could now use his name without the mistake that her mother had made. Shirou had even corrected how it was said but Luvia just preferred to use it. Rin knew why as she was quick to see that Luvia had developed feelings for Shirou. Rin had known him longer than the blonde drills and there was no way on earth she was going to let her take him! "I'm sure Shirou will be happy to see me."

Luvia shot her a glare which Rin returned in kind. Sparks seemed to fly between them both. Luckily before the both of them could escalate their little spat Auguste, Luvia butler, cut in. "Perhaps now is not an appropriate time for this chat," Sometimes he wondered why the both of them would go about this instead of just asking the boy. "We don't need everyone staring at the both of you after all."

True enough there little spat did have a few people staring at them both. A sudden sense of awkward embarrassment was the response both of them had to this realization. Rin and Luvia's eyes moved back to each other before they silently both agreed to pretend that they weren't about to cause a scene. With a whisper so only Rin could hear Luvia decided to heed her butler's advice. "We'll settle this later."

'Oh, we will,' Rin had forgotten all about the fact that she was tired. Right now her focus is to head home, check to see everything was as sheleft it, and then head back to the Emiya estate. Both to catch back up with Illya and to ensure that Luvia wasn't going to make a move on her man!

Erikson watched as a bird he had out caught sight of a strange redhead boy for a brief moment. Something about him felt off but he didn't push forward as the temporary bounded field altered him to a visitor walking in. Turning his head to the side and dismissing the familiar he saw the blue haired boy, Zouken's grandson, walking into the building and towards him. "Well, I see you came to me so how did it go?"

"How did it go?" Shinji was still railing from the revelation that he had gotten. Anger had overtaken him and he had hit the girl hoping for a reaction. She had just taken it and not cared at all. He might have gone further than a simple slap but he remembered being told about the warehouse. "That little bitch I can't believe she had been the heir this whole time!"

"If I might ask just who is this 'bitch' you're talking about?"

Shinji had actually cared about her like a brother. In hindsight he should have questioned why his drunk of a father had adopted the girl. Why his grandfather seemed uncaring about him even as he spent so much time trying to learn to be a magus. All because of her. "My adopted sister Sakura!"

Erikson just watched as Shinji aired out his frustrations, ignoring for a bit as he remembered where he heard the name Sakura. Then it clicked as he remembered reading up about the Tohsaka family records from that government official he had controlled before he came. A laugh started to leave the Dead Apostles mouth as he knew what had likely happened. 'Oh, that's so rich they didn't even suspect a thing!'

Shinji had no idea why he was laughing. Naturally his first thought had to be that the man was mocking him. "It's not funny that's my birthright, mine!"

"I wasn't laughing at you, I was laughing at the Tohsaka family for their foolishness!" Erikson rolled his eyes at the boy. "You're sister is actually the younger Tohsaka daughter who was given away to a Dead Apostle without even knowing it."

Now Shinji's whole blind fury and rage had been temporarily replaced with confusion. Sakura was actually Rin's younger sister. He thought back to when he had Sakura brought over with him when Illya and Shirou's dad had died. How Sakura and Rin had seemed to avoid eye contact or talking to each other. Them being sisters only for Sakura to be given away. "Wait, you said a Dead Apostle?" There wasn't a lot about them in the books he was able to read on magecraft but he knew enough. "What do you mean she was given to a Dead Apostle?!"

Now it was Erikson who was stunned to hear this. To be perfectly honest he had suspected that anyone who lived with or interacted with a Dead Apostle for long stretches of time would eventually pick it up. Especially if they studied magecraft. "Isn't its obvious your grandfather Zouken Matou, or as he was once known Makiri Zolgen, is a Dead Apostle."

Whatever frustrations and rage Shinji had about his grandfather choosing someone other then him as the heir was gone. In its place was a sudden realization that he was living under the roof of a Dead Apostle. Immediately his mind moved to reeject this because of how absurd it was and yet he just couldn't. "How do you know?"

"Because I am one myself, the traditional vampire kind, of course," Erikson casual confession just seemed to freeze up Shinji's mind. He had seemed out and was talking to a Dead Apostle who just told him his grandfather was one. "You're grandfather basically a nest worms of that eat and wear the flesh of whatever poor fool he currently using as a body, which is radically different but still technically he is a Dead Apostle."

So, many questions flooded Shinji's mind at this. The sensible part of his mind told him that he should leave before something terrible happened to him but that part was also being beaten back as the only other place he could think of was home and there was a Dead Apostle there. "Does…" In the end one question won out. "Does this anything to do with why I can't use magecraft?"

Zouken Matou if he was there would h as ve immediately moved to kill Erikson and maybe even Shinji. As much as Zouken liked to claim it was the lands fault that was complete bullshit. "That is what is most likely given the kind of things he had done to his family before he became one from what I hear," Erikson walked up to Shinji. "Mind if I take a look at something?"

Before Shinji could give him an answer the Dead Apostle grabbed hold of his head and looked him over for a moment. A tiny voice told Shinji this was a terrible position to find himself in. "Ten Magic Circuits all not actived and by the looks of it they are naturally extremely poor," Erikson wanted to laugh at such a state of affairs. "You're potential for magecraft is almost nonexistent which just shows how bad he screwed up his bloodline, no wonder he asked the Tohsaka for their younger child."

"You mean to tell me I was passed over for her because he screwed me over?!" Shinji's rage had returned and this time it wasn't directed at Sakura like before. No now it was directed at his grandfather. For a brief moment he felt a bit of guilt for his hitting of Sakura. "There has to be some way to fix this!"

An opening to get the boy to do what he wanted. Erikson had come here to get Zouken's help and while the worm wasn't willing his grandson might be. Even if he was useless at magecraft he could prove useful in other means. "My patron was a former Magus from the Age of Gods and still has the ability to use the craft from such a level," It was time to seal the deal with the young boy. "He knows ways to reverse what has been done to you and if what I have need of pans out, transfer to you a Magic Crest without much issues."

Erikson was only half lying. The transfer of an unconnected Magic Crest was likely possible for the White Wing Lord to do without the possibility of the side effects killing him. Of course, that was probably not the only issue he would deal with but it wasn't like the soon to be previous owner of it would need it. Shinji, having had his whole world view altered drastically in the last few hours, didn't even think twice with his answer. "What do you want me to do?"

"I came here looking for the Tohsaka heir," Erikson turned around as he pulled out a small Mystic Code, a pair of bracelets that was able to bypass a bounded field but only if one person was already inside it. "While I could substitute her for her sister I do believe your grandfather has likely altered her too much for my needs."

That and the worm would likely retaliate if his gift wrapped "heir" was taken. Dealing with him was likely too much trouble to begin with and besides he had no idea what her abilities even are now. Being no longer fully human was also a possibility. No, his original target would have to do. The only real issue was if his rival showed up or if the Edelfelts called in any favors from the Mages Association. Both of which he had plans for. No Dead Apostle got to the rank of Dead Apostle Superior without planning ahead after all.

"Tell me what do you know about my kind?"

A short trip to the market was all that Shirou needed to do to get some things they had run out of after breakfast. Cutting through the park Shirou started to wonder what else he should do today. Sakura was probably at their place right now having promised to be there with Illya to watch the romcom that Sakura had taken a liking to. 'I wonder if we are like the only mage family that actually knows how to use technology?'

The Emiya were probably not the only ones but most Mages didn't bother with it. From what Shirou remembered both the Holy Church and Dead Apostles were typically more pragmatic. They used modern technology when needed and learned how to use it. Well, the older of the Dead Apostles hated to do so but overall they at least were begrudgingly willing to understand the basics of how to use a phone or a tv. Rin had no clue until both him and Illya taught her how. Sakura was in a similar position even though the Matous were basically extinct, and Shinji had an understanding of modern technology while she didn't. Shirou didn't even want to think about how bad Luvia had been.

He stopped as something touched his nose that made him freeze up. The familiar smell of magical energy being used. Turning his head to the side he was greeted with a tall woman with a rather developed chest. Her blonde hair was tied into two long blonde twin tails that seemed to wave just a bit with the breeze. Her red eyes stared at him with confusion before realization set in. Shirou's eyes widened as he knew what she was. 'A Dead Apostle?!

The Dead Apostle woman looked at him as well as his existence as a Dead Apostle was very much known to her. Around her, space seemed to open up like something akin portals formed. From one of them she pulled out a rapier sword while from another had the hilt of a sword with a ruby pummeled. "Who are you?" She gave him a glare as she pointed the rapier at him. "Are you sent here by Ortenrosse to help Erikson?"

Shirou's eyes widened as the first of the two of the names given was one he recognized. The last name of the White Wing Lord, an individual he was told to never deal with by his mother because of the rivalry between him and the Black Princess. She thought that he was with him! "No I'm not!" Shirou would rather defuse the situation right now instead of fighting in the middle of the park. "Look I have no idea what is even going on."

She stared at his eyes as she tried to tell if he was lying. The style of feeding on animals didn't dissuade the idea that he wasn't a part of the White Wing Lords court but the way he talked about it meant that he knew of him and likely wasn't a fan. "Are you affiliated with Altrouge or her knights?"

Technically he was through his mother associated with the Black Princess court. However, he wasn't with her and right now Shirou was kind of cut off from them. "Not right now."

By the sounds of it he was probably a neutral affiliated Dead Apostle. One that had worked for the Black Princess at one point. She lowered the rapier in her hand and returned the sword through the spacial portal. Each of them seemed to close all around her as her cold expression faded. "I see then you don't know what is going on."

"Thats kind of obvious," That was an understatement as Shirou literally had no idea what was going on. He didn't expect to met a Dead Apostle right now and not one who who immediately went to threaten him. There was probably something going on here and he might as well ask what. "I'm Shirou Emiya mind telling me what's going on?"

"Angelica Ainsworth," The Dead Apostle, Angelica introduced herself feeling that it was only right given the circumstances. If he was unaffiliated then she could use his help. "As for why I am here I am one of two current candidates to become the new Twenty-sixth Dead Apostle Ancestor."

Something was wrong with the system. The Greater Grail could recognize that something was fundamentally off about this upcoming Grail War. The Lesser Grail seemed to exist in two places at once. Both simultaneously incomplete and being completed. A pull existed within the system towards one of the two Lesser Grails. If one was to use a computer as the context to what the Fuyuki Greater Grail was doing it was running the system while constantly dealing with a system error. Under normal circumstances the Greater Grail System would likely have a way to deal with this.

In the current form the Greater Grail was best described under the current analogy as being wrecked with a computer virus that had altered several of the systems operations. Passively the system went through any means that it had to fix the mess that had been sensed before arriving on one. A Ruler Class Servant was needed. Reaching into the Throne of Heroes the Greater Grail called out to any Ghostliner, any Heroic Spirit that filled the role. None answered the Greater Grail which left it in a bind. Immediately after the failed summoning the system worked through itself for a solution and found one.

Slowly her eyes awoke as her mind raced in what was going on. Memories that had existed were slowly being pieced together and was confused with both information from the Greater Grail on the state of things, a desire to unleash punishment on humanity, and a voice telling her to see if someone dear to her was ok. This chaotic mess was slowly settled as she sorted through everything as her sense of self slowly started to return. The desire and the voice were slowly subsumed into and made a part of the whole.

The whole that was her was a conflict of names but eventually one name won out. This was the core of her being the base used in the summoning of her, Justeaze Lizrich von Einzbern.

Alright, so given what is known about the Angru Mainyu corruption of the Greater Grail thanks to recent materials I do not think that the Throne of Heroes would ever answer a call form it for a Ruler Class servant. This would force the system to make due with what it had on hand to created a suitable replacement. Yes, this is relevant for the Grail War in the story. Oh, and yes welcome to the arc were Shirou gets reintroduced to the world of the Dead Apostles.

Yes, Illya has a brother complex because I kind of already transferred some of her Prisma Illya counterparts traits into her already. Its pretty much what most people think would happen if Kiritsugu got to her anyway.
