Chapter 7. Negotiation

Brutus on the other hand, wouldn't be quite as willing. As Spencer, Sarene and Sasha entered his room they found him meditating quietly on his bed. He wore no shoes nor a shirt. His expression looked totally relaxed; up until the sound of a door opening broke his concentration. Looking towards who made the sound he stood with his fists clenched at his side. Fully well knowing that Spencer had somehow caught on to their plan now, he arched his brow, curious.

"Ah Brutus, would you care to join us on a journey to discovery? Don't worry, you'll remain alive as long as you refrain from any reckless behavior."

Crossing his arms he then responded in an irritated voice, "You're giving me a choice in this matter?"

"Yes, of course. It's your decision whether or not you wish to know the truth."

Scoffing, Brutus went back and sat on his bed.

"How did you even catch onto the plan on the first place?"

Placing his hands on his hips, Spencer smirked.

"It wasn't very difficult. As soon as Sarene used a particular trinket I'd previously given to her as a gift, it caused me to stir in my slumber. The sensation of the substance touching my finger had irritated me. However, I had chosen to stifle my irritation, waiting until this moment came at last. I want nothing more than to help aide you in your quest for the truth. He wanted to wait at least two more years for introductions, but now is as good a time as any, wouldn't you agree?"

Marcus and Hunk appeared behind them rather stealthily. No one even noticed they had been standing there for the entire conversation. Brutus, Sarene and Sasha were all wondering the same thing- What did Spencer mean by the word, "He"? It was unusual for him to omit any details when referring to another individual. This, along with noticing how Hunk was carrying both a machine gun pistol and sniper rifle, caused them worry.

"We wouldn't want to keep him waiting, now would we? After all, this man is kindly allowing us entrance into his humble abode".

"Fine, I will come along with you."

The shrewd man smiled in return.

"But, on one condition and one condition only."

"And what would that be?"

Marcus interceded, asking coldly, "You are now making terms and conditions? I'm afraid that's not how this process works. You see, Spencer may have been much too benevolent whenever he had mentioned how you had a choice in this matter."

"Dr., why don't you and Hunk board the motor boat? We'll join you in a moment."

Marcus glared at both men in response as he made his way out of the door.

"Just remember Spencer, you're not the one in control."

Hunk followed closely behind him without saying a word. In response to these harsh words from Marcus, Spencer just continued smiling.

"My one condition is that you tell us who we will be meeting."

"Well, what I will tell you is that I have mentioned his name while conversing with Sarene before."

He couldn't have made it anymore obvious who this "person", if you could even call him that, was.

Brutus quickly dressed himself while Spencer ordered them to walk in front of him in a single file line. Sasha walked ahead of Brutus and Sarene walked in front of Spencer. Whenever they had at last arrived to their desired vehicle, the sight before them seemed as thought it had come from a strange dream. There were two motor boats that looked capable of holding at least ten people each. Hunk and Marcus were waiting for them, along with the two spies, Ada, Krauser and Wesker. Another unfamiliar male joined the other group at the dock.

"Proceed as planned."

That was all he had to say for their nightmare of a journey to begin. Little did the small group know what atrocity had been waiting for them all along. All of the deception and lies...
