The next time Sabrina caused issues was when they announced the Student of the Year award. It had been a week since my parents been home and I been training hard with both my physical training with my mother and my magical training with my father. I gave to use that spell that replaces coffee since in my eyes, and taste, the drink sucks.
Anyways, the day that the Student of the Year award was announced. It started with this announcement. "Remember students. The school assembly starts in five minutes. Of course, this is a mandatory school assembly, which means a week detention to any student even a split second late!" The voice on the intercom announced as we were in the halls.
"Oh come on! That's a bit harsh." I said as we ran, with me ahead of Harvey, Chloe, Pi and Sabrina. Not trying to brag, just a result of the training I endured. "Thanks students." The voice said. "Where the off button when you need it?" I asked sarcastically.
Soon we were in the auditorium. "Listening to Ares would've been better than this." I grumbled under my breath. Only for said god to appear on my shoulder. "Does this mean you taken my offer to be a warlord worthy of being Xena's successor?" Ares asked me with a smug smirk.
Only for me to fling him away with my fingers. "Not a chance." I told him. "You'll see reason one day! Arghh!" Ares yelled in pain once hitting the wall and sliding down it. "I'm in pain." He said once on the ground.
"Name me one single thing more boring than Monday morning assemblies." Chloe said to Sabrina and me. "Easy, watching paint dry. Oh wait, that's rather entertaining right now. How about Gem's birthday party?" I asked.
"No, that's not it, Aaron. It's my Uncle Lou's new wife, the one who gave up being a school librarian to write a book about being a school librarian." Sabrina said. "Self-ego boost, much?" I asked sarcastically as we took our seats, me sitting next to Harvey and Sabrina.
"So, any guesses what today's assembly will be about?" Harvey asked us. "Maybe they will finally ship Gem to a different country." I said a bit eagerly. "Aaron, that's what you said about the last twenty assemblies and that never happened. What makes think it will this time?" Chloe asked me. "Twenty-first time the charm?" I asked.
"Nah, it probably Hallway Safety Part 2." Sabrina said, holding up two fingers. "The importance of flossing?" Chloe brought up. "The joys of stamp collecting?" Sabrina mocked. "And there are a million stamp collectors that wants your blood now." I said in slight horror.
"Stamp collecting? Really? Now that is righteous!" Pi said while looking at a stamp with a magnifying glass. "Except for him." I whispered to Sabrina behind my hand while pointing at Pi with my thumb as we all looked at him in confusion. "You disagree?" He asked us. "No, just we each have our own hobbies." I said.
"Students of Greendale Middle School!" The vice principal said. Another student with long hair that was going up sat in front of Sabrina, blocking her view. "It's that time of the year again. Time to select the Student of the Year." The vice principal said just as Sabrina made the hair invisible so she can see. "Sabreeny, you know we can't do that in public. You're lucky no one else saw." I silently scolded her. "No one saw, though." She said. "That's beyond the point." I said.
"The student whose picture will be added to our own beloved Greendale Middle School Wall of Achievements!" The vice principal continued as fanfare music came on. Where did they came from? I see no speakers or marching band. "Drats, they're not sending Gem away! Maybe next time." I said sadly.
"It can't be!" Sabrina exclaimed. "Yes. And every year, one student has his or her picture added to this wall. And that student is selected based on the performance of academic performance, athletic achievement, citizenship, and popularity to become Student of the Year!" The vice principal said. "Wow, we're really laying it thick with the award, are we?" I asked under my breath sarcastically. "No!" Sabrina exclaimed, causing everyone to turned and look at her while I just covered my face with my hat in embarrassment.
"Uh oh. I was just, uh, contemplating the possible consequences of, uh, not observing proper hallway safety procedures during a fire drill. Really horrifying, you know." Sabrina said, saving herself, and us, from embarrassment. "Harvey, mi amigo. I'm telling you, there something *makes crazy signs* about Sabby." Pi said.
"Miss Spellman, it's nice to know that last week's assembly topic had such an effect on you. But today, our focus is on the Student of the Year." The vice principal said. Sabrina sank lower into her seat while chuckling nervously. I just tried to cover my entire body with my vest to hide my embarrassment and shame as everyone still stared at us, mainly Sabrina though.
"Now, as I about to say, the voting will take place on Thursday. And after all the votes are tallied, the name of the Student of the Year will be announced on a special assembly on Friday. The assembly will be covered on local television as well as the placing of the honored student's picture on the Wall of Achievements. Who will it be?" The vice principal asked. Sabrina groaned while facepalming. "Great, a double whammy of assemblies in one week? Why?" I asked, sliding down to the floor.
Soon the assembly was over. "Hey, what's all this stressing over this wall, Sabrina?" Harvey asked. "Yeah, it's like you're looking at some kind of nightmare or something." Chloe added. "In a way, I kinda am." Sabrina said, pointing at a picture. "Amazing, she looks just like you." Chloe noted to Sabrina.
"She's my great-grandmother. Greendale's first ever Student of the Year. And over there is my grandmother. And here's my mom. They were all named Sabrina and they were all Student of the Year. It's kind of a tradition for the women on the mortal, uh, I mean, on my mom side of the family." Sabrina said. "Wait, so you're saying that you're the fourth generation of Sabrina? What's next, you're going to name your daughter Sabrina too?" I asked in shock.
"No Aaron. Just no." Sabrina replied. "That is so cool!" Chloe gushed over that fact. "No it isn't! Think about it, Chloe. Now everyone is going to expect me to be Student of the Year. But what if I'm not? What if I don't make it?" Sabrina asked as she imagine the possibility that Hilda, Zelda, Salem and Quigley were wearing bags over their heads, ashamed that Sabrina didn't got Student of the Year. Even Sabrina having to hit the road. Cold, especially when they took off the bags after she left.
"What am I gonna do? I can't disappoint my whole family. I gotta be Student of the Year!" Sabrina said as we walked. "You know, Aaron might win the Student of the Year." Harvey said. "What?" I asked in shock. "Yeah, some of our fellow classmates were talking about how you would get Student of the Year in a landslide." Harvey said. Meanwhile I was curled up in a ball. "L-Live television. I-In front of people. M-Might say or do something that I can't take back ever again." I stammered in fear.
"Great Harv. You broke Aaron." Sabrina said as she slapped some sense back into me. "Oh come on, I told him he would win in a landslide." Harvey said as I imagine myself on a landslide, thinking that it would've been better. Only to fall in lava. That killed my fantasies.
(Madi: Are you sure that it wasn't Final Fantasy that was killed? No, just no. Madi: Fuck you too, Mr. "I thought landslides were more fun than they are." Hey, just because I fell in lava doesn't mean you can read my personal thoughts! Wait, what did I just say? "Madi: Hook, line and sinker. God *Censor* it! *Bang my face on wall for two minutes... straight*)
"I don't know what you two are freaking out about. You two are great students." Chloe told Sabrina and me. "Yeah, but they don't have a Students of the Year thing, do they?" I asked Chloe. "No." She answered. "But you two are fantastic athletes!" Harvey told us before scratching his head.
"Well, Sabrina isn't a fantastic athlete and you're not even in any sports, Aaron. But you two are still pretty good. I mean, Sabrina doesn't fall down as she used to." Harvey said. "What Mr. Smooth is trying to say is that we'll vote for you." Chloe said. "Yeah, everybody will. Well, maybe not everybody. I mean, Gem probably won't. But that only one person. Well, maybe two people if you count Slugloaf." Harvey said.
"Harv, we get the point." I said. "Allow me to translate then. Sabrina, you're cute, you're nice, you're smart, you're in! And Aaron, you're the athletic type, smart and nice too," Chloe explained. "The issue is though, the you guys will be forced to choose between me and Sabrina just to not hurt one feeling, yet hurt another." I said.
"Oh, that's a problem." Harvey said before snapping his fingers. "Well, what if we vote for both of you?" Harvey asked. "I don't think that how it works." I tried to say. "Nonsense. It would be down to the last vote. However, if we both vote for you, there would be no hard feelings." Chloe said. "To Sabrina Spellman and Aaron Dimension! The next Student of the Year!" Chloe and Harvey cheered before realizing the issue I brought up.
"Oh, now we see the issue." Harvey said as I facepalmed. "Hold it right there. Harvey, Aaron. I've been looking all over for you." Gem said. "Whatever you want, you won't get it from me." I told her as Sabrina did the gag me gesture as did Chloe."I'm having a party this Friday to celebrate becoming the next Student of the Year. I really love for you two to be there." Gem told Harvey and me.
"Now wait a minute, you haven't even won yet, so come back when you actually won." I told Gem. "Yeah, time to cash a reality check there. What makes you so sure that you're gonna be the Student of the Year?" Sabrina asked. "Well, let's have a look, shall we?" Gem asked as she looked at her clipboard.
"Student of the Year is chosen based on the standard of academic performance, athletic achievements, citizenship, and popularity." Gem check her list as a professor walked up with her homework. "Oh good, Professor. You finished my extra credit assignment." Gem said while paying the professor as a coach came with a pair of shoes. "A little custom made bounce in my sneakers. That will take care of athletic achievements." Gem said as she paid the coach.
At that happened, a construction worker gave her a blueprints. "Oh, there the blueprint for the new multi-million library my daddy is donating the school in my name. That takes care of citizenship." Gem bragged as she paid the construction worker. "Don't spent it all in one place, boys." Gem told the three adult males who left.
"But that's not... I mean you can't... Arghh." I said with gritted teeth as Gem pulled out her phone and dial a number. "Hello, I like to order a total beauty makeover for tomorrow. And on-site maintenance for the rest of the week. Thank you." Gem said as she hang up. "Sorry, what was that you were saying, darling Aaron?" Gem asked me. "That you are going to have issues winning the Student of the Year because I'm going for it." I said smugly.
"Sorry Aaron, but your chances are nothing compared to me. However, hope to see you at my victory party Friday Night, Aaron. And bring Harvey too. Oh, you can come too if you want, Chloe. But I assume you'll be too busy comforting Sabrina. Toodles." Gem said as she left. "Argh! Who does she think she is, the Queen of England?" I asked, pissed off with steam coming out of my ears.
"A college professor doing her homework? Complete makeover? Donating an entire library? How can I compete with that?" Sabrina asked while sliding down a locker. "You got to! I don't want to go to her stupid victory party! And neither does Aaron!" Harvey told Sabrina.
"Yeah, and check this. If Gem wins, she'll be pushing us around until we're all in college. You know she's gonna treat everyone like servants." Chloe added as a thought occurred in Sabrina's head about Gem being like Cleo, ruler of Egypt while Harvey and Chloe blamed her for letting them down. "Don't let us down." Harvey said, adding a bit of pressure to Sabrina.
"Chloe, she already does that without the Student of the Year stuff. And Harv, you're adding more pressure to Sabrina than she needs. And Sabrina, Gem's only doing it because of local television, not because of niceness. You'll do fine. And I'll help you." I told Sabrina.
"Really, even if it means you won't win Student of the Year?" Sabrina asked. "Look, I don't need a picture on a wall or something to tell me that I'm perfect the way I am. Now let's help you beat Gem." I told Sabrina as me, Chloe and Harvey helped her up. "Promise us that you'll at least stop Gem." Chloe said.
"No pressure here, Spellman." Sabrina said as we walked off. "Now all you have to worry about is not disappointing your family and your friends." Sabrina said, forgetting that I was walking near her. "Sabrina, I think you're adding pressure to yourself too." I said, causing her to be startled at first before looking at me.
"No I'm not. Just don't want to disappoint everyone." Sabrina said before walking faster ahead of me. I just sighed. "Sometimes, the perils of middle school is peer pressure." I said while shaking my head.
Soon the next morning came with my mother making chocolate chips waffles and bacon. "How's school this week? Having peer pressure issues like the one here?" She asked me. "Mary! We're not talking about the Enchantra evaluation when our neighbors can be listening in!" My dad said before closing the curtains.
"Good, unless you count the stupid Student of the Year thing coming up and Sabrina is facing peer pressure all around. Oh, and Gem think she can just win it by having other people do some of the requirements for her, but in her name." I told my parents. "Man, middle school is different than when I was in there." My dad said. "Ha, jokes on you! I never went to middle school! Also, I don't have mugs, so I can't be mugged." My mom said proudly.
"Mary, that's not how mugging works." My dad said. "That's how it works with Goku." My mom countered, only for my dad to face-palmed himself. "Mary, that is not how mugging works. Mugging means you get robbed at knifepoint in a random alley." My dad said. "Yeah, if you have mugs." My mother countered that logic. "...Yes Mary, only if you have mugs." My dad said with gritted teeth. "See, I win!" My mom said before going to the restroom.
"Only if her brain was on mugs." My dad whispered to me. "I heard that!" My mom said from the upstairs restroom. "Drats! I thought the dining room were soundproof." My dad said while eating. "Only in Critic's pot induced dreams would that happened. Also, remember Saiyan hearing." I reminded my dad. "Touche." He said.
Soon Sabrina and I were walking down the halls, with Pi pushing a cart of books. "A little concealer. No problem." Sabrina told me. "Why are you telling me about makeup? From what I learned from Spongebob, perfumes and makeup are evil to the male kind." I told Sabrina. "Oh come on, you can't believe everything from Spongebob." Sabrina told me. "Really? What about educational television?" I asked her as I remembered the first, and last time, educational television was on my television.
I was seven at the time when that accursed show came on. Those television screens on those beings' guts, the baby face on the sun, that horrible background music. They're a cult and no one can tell me otherwise. It was also the first time I screamed like a girl, which got my mother's attention. I swear, she has a mother radar or something because she destroy our T.V. after just seeing the screen. Soon, she and my dad brought a new T.V.(After my father convinced her that Frieza was not invading our house via the television, of course.) And since then, I never saw educational television again.
"And that's how Spongebob is right." I told Sabrina. "Oh come on, it was just one program. That doesn't mean all of them are bad." She told me. "It was enough for him to let go of the boat Mrs. Puff was stealing." I reminded her. "Aaron Dimension! You're not making sense with this Spongebob nonsense!" Sabrina told me. "Neither is this whole school with the Student of the Year business or peer pressure or anything at all, but we still have to accept it." I told her as she tried everything to hide the zit on her face.
"Did Hilda even told you what a concealer is?" I asked Sabrina. "No." She answered. "Figures. It's a type of makeup that you put on to hide stuff like a zit or something." I told Sabrina as she opened her locker. Meanwhile, I internally swear at Hilda in Saiyanese for not teaching Sabrina the basics of makeup, or at least concealer. "Hey Sabrina. Hey Aaron." Harvey said from behind us, startling Sabrina.
"Harv, don't sneak up on Sabrina like that." I told him. "Uh, Sabrina, I think you got a, um, wow." Harvey said as we looked at Gem, who was wearing a blue sleeveless dress and have her hair in a bun while someone in a pink suit was holding a spotlight behind her.
"Oh Hercules no. Joxer would be better company than Gem." I groaned. "Out of my way, everyone. Glamorous and beautiful Student of the Year material coming through. Oh, it's a bother being so perfect. But my admiring public seem to admire it." Gem said, bragging about herself. "So you're a Mary Sue?" I asked, causing Sabrina to chuckle.
Gem walked over to us. "Ugh." Sabrina said, hiding her face in her locker. "Sabreeny, it hurts me to carry this, but here some concealer." I said, giving it to her. "Why do you have it if you hate it?" Sabrina asked. "Hilda gave it to me as a birthday present when I was four. She told my mom she was preparing for when I have zits. Last time she gave me a present of her choice." I told Sabrina as I give her the makeup to put on while Gem was concerned about a strand of hair being out of place. As if that will be the end of the world.
While the guy fixed it, Sabrina put on the concealer over the zit. "Nice zit Spel-where's the zit?" Gem asked Sabrina. "That's what I was trying to tell you guys. It wasn't a zit. It was a dot of strawberry jam on her face." Harvey said, using one finger to rub off the concealer, and the jam, in one fell swoop. "...What? Hilda and Zelda couldn't tell the difference between a zit and jam?" I asked. "Well, it could've been raspberry. B-but for sure, jam." Harvey said as Sabrina checked the mirror.
"Well, Sabreeny, seems like we were making a mountain out of a molehill with that jam." I told her. "Zit or no zit, you're still gonna lose." Gem told Sabrina. "She has a chance still, so stop while you're ahead, Gem." I told the rich snob.
"That whole proud family tradition thing? What a joke. Like there was something special about those other Sabrinas. They probably only won because they didn't have any competition. I mean, how hard was it to look so good back then? Everything was in black and white for crying out loud!" Gem exclaimed. "You went too far, Stone." I said in disgust.
"That does it, Gem! No one insults my family and gets away with it! You're going to be so sorry!" Sabrina told Gem. "Yeah, you tell her, Sabreeny." I said with a smirk as we left Gem behind. "Now Gem knows you're serious, Sabreeny." I told Sabrina as we walk to our next class.
Soon, after school, I was mixing potions with my dad. "And then she told Gem off." I told him as I handed him the ingredients for the potion. "No doubt. Can't blame her, I knew her mother, and her grandmother and her great-grandmother. They knew I was a warlock back when they were alive. Well, Diane's still alive." My dad said as he mixed the ingredients.
"Yeah, but I get the feeling she won't rest until she gets payback on Gem." I told him my worries. "This is Sabrina we're talking about. What are the chance of that happening?" My dad asked before realizing what he just said. "We're talking about the same Sabrina, right?" I asked him. "I don't know anymore." He said nervously as the potion bubbled before freezing my mother.
"Mary! We should had wait till your mother wasn't here to make the time freeze potion, should we?" My dad asked in a frenzy as he undid the potion. "Yep." I responded as my mother yelled at him for freezing her and him apologizing. Promising to take her out to New York City for a date. That got my mom to accept his apology.
The next day at school is when buffalo turd hit the fan. I was walking to Sabrina's locker, about to say hi when I heard her talking. "It's payback time, Gem." She said with a smirk.(Yes, I can even hear smirks. Moving on.) When I looked from around the corner, I saw her holding a small blue object that has magic oozing from it.(Yes, after a while of being near my dad's magic radar, I can detect magic too.)
"Oh no. Gem got her pissed this time." I muttered under my breath. "Now remember Pi, vote for me for Student of the Year and I'll eat lunch with you for an entire semester, and pay for it too." Gem told Pi as they came down the stairs. "Traitor." I muttered under my breath about Pi.
"Let me think about that. Wait, I got it. How about you buy me lunches, but not actually eat them with me? Chyah, later." Pi said instead as he and Gem walked away from each other. "Huh, guess he does choose friendship over Gem any day." I said.
"Great outfit, Spellman. I just never get tired of seeing you in it." Gem told Sabrina. "Thanks Gem. What a sweet thing to say. Hug, hug, kiss. kiss." Sabrina said as she slipped the blue object in Gem's purse. "Get away from me! You're gonna mess up my hair!" Gem whined as she pulled out the blue object from her purse. Seriously, what is it with Gem and her hair? There's more important things than that, for crying out loud!
She opened it, not noticing the wicked grin on Sabrina's face. A couple seconds later, Gem grew a mustache. "AHHHHH!" My inner self screamed in horror at the same time Gem screamed once seeing it. The other students saw and held up a piece of paper, probably the voting method for Student of the Year. As everyone laughed at Gem, I just looked at the floor to avoid looking at the Gem-stache.(Trademarked by me.)
"Nice mustache, Gem. I hate to think of a picture of someone with a thing like that on her face hanging on the Wall of Achievements forever. Gross!" Sabrina said as she walked off. As she walked near the corner I was at, I grabbed her and pulled her into the corner. "Sabrina Spellman, how could you?!" I scolded her. "It was easy." She replied.
"You know better!" I told her. "Well, Gem shouldn't have insulted my family!" Sabrina shot back. "And that makes it okay to drop to her level? Doing anything it takes to win? If that's how you want to win Student of the Year, then good luck winning it yourself! Because I don't want to help someone who would do what Gem would do on a daily basis!" I told Sabrina as I stormed off while Gem got the mustache trimmed off, but now have gopher teeth and whiskers.
Gem also went through a bushy eyebrow incident before gaining weight from that thing. And Sabrina thinks she isn't in the wrong, believing she justified because Gem insulted her mother's side of the family. I usually don't like Gem, but even I think this is too much punishment for her, especially with magic. That's why I managed to get rid of the effects, discreetly of course.
Soon, everyone was putting in their votes, and it seems like Sabrina going to win, even though she doesn't deserve it. If she wanted Student of the Year, ashe would've just done it without magic instead of stooping to Gem's level just to get back at Gem. Sabrina eventually put in her vote, and I did soon after. I know it hurts me for who I vote for, but for once, it was the right decision.
I heard Gem crying and decide to blend in the shadows, at max so Sabrina couldn't see me like she usually does. Sabrina soon came, seeing Gem crying. "What's wrong with me? I never felt so bad before in my whole life. It just hurts too much." Gem sobbed as she threw the thing, breaking it.
"Gem, don't cry. It's okay. It's all over now, you're fine. Oh wow, I thought this would be so great but it's awful. Aaron was right. I'm sorry, okay? Really. Sheesh, did I mess up. And what's worse, Aaron probably won't talk to me." Sabrina said as she walked away.
I soon came out of the shadows. "Not unless you fix this yourself." I said to myself before walking off in the other direction. But not before using magic to give Gem some tissues and chocolate. Hey, I may not like her that much, but that doesn't mean I'm heartless!
The next day was the announcement of the Student of the Year, and already I hate the ceremony. And it didn't even started yet! All because this week was stupid with the entire voting for the Student of the Year, when we could have just done a Student of the Month or even a Student of the Week instead! Would have saved everyone the hassle.
"Welcome students. The annual Greendale Middle School Student of the Year Award Ceremony! The students and the faculty have voted and the results are in! And this year's recipient is a young lady who had made us all very proud to have her as a member of our student body." The vice principal said as I snorted in disbelief.
"Don't let us down, okay?" Harvey asked Sabrina. "Promise?" Chloe added. "Trust me, Harv and Chloe. She already let me down." I told them while crossing my arms as the same time Sabrina closed the curtains. Chloe and Harvey just looked at me in confusion, but I didn't elaborate what I meant.
"Faculty, parents, Greendale students, and all you people out there in T.V. land! I am proud to present this year's Student of the Year: Sabrina Spellman!" The vice principal announced as everyone clapped and cheered, except for me as Sabrina came up to the podium.
"And since this is such a special moment for you and your family. Sabrina, the school had arranged such a really special surprise. We have set up a special satellite hookup to your mother at her archaeological dig in Egypt! Go ahead dear, take the phone." The vice principal added as Quigley, in a suit, give Sabrina a phone.
"Hello, mommy? Mommy? Hi." Sabrina said on the phone. I listened in on the other end via Saiyan hearing. "I am so very proud of you. Just as proud as Grandma and Great-grandma would be if they could see what a wonderful girl you grown up to be." Diane said as Sabrina frowned a bit while looking at me, who was just ignoring her.
"Oh, how I could wish there to give you a hug right now. I love you, Sabrina." Diane said. "I love you too, mom." Sabrina said softly with tears in her eyes as she hanged up and gave the phone back to Quigley. She then accepted the award.
Everyone cheered again with Harvey and Chloe giving Sabrina a thumbs up. Everyone except me, which I just crossed my arms and looked at the ground. And Gem, who was miserable. Never thought I ever felt bad about her at all, given the type of crud she does to try and get me to date her.
"Thank you for giving me this award, but I can't accept this." Sabrina said, shocking everyone, even me as I looked up. "Being Student of the Year is about being the best you can be. In the last few days, I haven't been the best I can be. I've been somebody I'm ashamed of. I've been mean-spirited and selfish. And I enjoy making somebody else feel bad. I also used unfair tactics just so I can win. Now I'll never know if I could've earned my place on the Wall of Achievements or not. All because I tried to cheat. I'm sorry. And I apologized to my family and friends for doing the one thing I really didn't want to do. Let them down." Sabrina said as she gave the award back to the vice principal before running off.
I ran after her just to make sure she was okay. As this happened, the vice principal announced that the award would go to the runner-up. I assumed it would be Gem, but was surprised when my name was said. However, Sabrina comes first. Afterall, friends before perks.
"Sabreeny." I said. "Go on. Say it Aaron. You were right and I was wrong." Sabrina said with tears streaming down her face. "Yeah, but you did have a lot of guts to admit that you were wrong. Unlike the whole Fabio fiasco." I muttered under my breath. "So, are you going to accept the award?" Sabrina asked me sadly.
"Look Sabrina. I never care for some award. I never even wanted it in the first place. I don't need a award or a picture hang up on a wall to tell me that I'm nice or athletic or smart or even popular. I never cared about that. All I cared about is just surviving middle school with my friends." I told Sabrina.
"Really?" Sabrina asked. "Yeah, and I saw how you tried to apologized to Gem yesterday. If that not Student of the Year material, then they're missing out." I told her as Quigley, Hilda, Zelda and Chloe came over. "Sabrina." Quigley said seriously. "Go ahead, say whatever you want. I deserved it." Sabrina told the other four.
"I think there something important you need to hear first." Quigley said with a soft smile. "It's a message crystal ball." Zelda explained the thing in the box as Hilda pulled it out. "Press the red button." Hilda said. "What, is this a try me session for toys at a toy store?" I asked, trying to lighten the mood for Sabrina, who chuckled a bit as she pressed the button.
"You have one message." The crystal ball droned as Diane's face appeared in it. "Honey? What you did was wrong. And I'm so glad you owned up to it and set things right. You're growing up to be a smart, responsible girl. And that's makes me very proud. You learned a important lesson. Love you lots." Diane said as she blew a kiss to Sabrina.
"That goes double for your friend." Chloe said with a wink. "Of course, the fact that we still love and respect you doesn't mean you won't be grounded for a month for cheating with magic." Quigley told Sabrina. "A whole month? Urgh." Sabrina groaned "Wait, is no one going to ask Sabrina how she got ahold of that type of magic anyways?" I asked them.
"You know, you're right. Sabrina, your grounding will be reduced if you tell us where you got it from." Zelda told Sabrina. "Salem." Sabrina said simply. "Of course it's him. Why not?" I asked as Harvey came backstage. "Good, you found Sabrina. And Aaron too." Harvey said as he ran towards us.
"Hey, is that what I think it is?" Harvey asked, pointing at the crystal ball. "N-No Harv. That's not what you think it is." I told him, waving my hand trying to do the Jedi mind trick. "Aaron, you don't have the Force." Harvey told me. "Stop ruining my fantasies!" I cried out in anguish.
"Uh, depends. What do you think it is?" Sabrina asked Harvey. "It's one of those new video phones, isn't it? Cool! Can I make a call?" Harvey asked. "Maybe next time." Zelda said as she put it back in the box as Quigley and Sabrina sighed in relief.
"You better hurry, Aaron. Gem's making a speech about her winning." Harvey told me. "But she didn't win." I said. "I know, but that doesn't stop her from making a speech." Harvey said as we walked to the stage.
Long story short, I accepted the award and have my picture hang on the Wall of Achievements. And I didn't make a single mistake on live television. Didn't know what I was so worried about. Oh yeah, magic being broadcasted and not liking to be on television anyways. I guess we can say for once, Gem was third fiddle compared to Sabrina and me.
