Hey guys! I'm back with another chapter for you all. I'm proud of myself because this was probably the shortest amount of time I've taken to get a chapter written and posted for you. That's all I have for you and I hope you enjoy! Happy reading!

"Everything is looking great with your little girl, she's growing in the way she's supposed to and heartbeat is great." Dr. Lacey spoke to the parents-to- be as she finished up looking at their baby girl. "Thank you Dr. Lacey." Matt replied before capturing Gabby's lips for a kiss as Dr. Lacey turned around to get to her next patient.

They started talking about baby names just the other day, Matt and Gabby coming up with three different names each. Much to Gabby's surprise Casey had baby names on his mind as soon as they found out they were having a girl. He didn't make a set list like she did, but he definitely had a few in mind. After they narrowed their choices down a bit they wrote down their final six options total and decided to hold off on narrowing down any further so they didn't stress themselves out too much. As they knew they didn't even need to decide until after the baby was born. The couple really enjoyed spending quality time not only with each other, but also with the attention on their little girl and something as simple as what they were going to name her.

"Hey babe?" Gabby called out from the living room as she tried to gain the attention of her husband. "What's up baby?" Casey's voice was heard by Gabby as he came to stand right in front of her by the couch. "You okay?" "Yeah, I'm fine. I was just wondering if you could get me my pills and a glass of water, please?" Gabby quickly answered her husband as she readjusted the blanket she just grabbed from the other side of the couch. "Of course baby, I'll be right back." Casey spoke as he leaned forward to apply a soft kiss to Gabby's head.

As Gabby parked her car in the OFI parking lot she shut off the engine and got her stuff situated that she needed for the short work day ahead. Gabby had to duck out of shift two hours earlier than normal because tomorrow was Halloween and she needed to get a Halloween shirt that actually fit her. At 21 almost 22 weeks Gabby is definitely showing, but with their girl being on the smaller side, she hasn't shown as much yet. Gabby was just happy with where she was at because her girl was healthy. Gabby headed into work and once she got situated at her desk she prepared for the rest of the interviews she didn't get to finish last week.

Casey walked back into the confines of his office after dinner knowing he had some paperwork to catch up on that he wanted done before shift ended since tomorrow is Halloween. Casey looked around and saw nothing but peace and quiet, using that to his advantage as he got to work on the rest of his paperwork. The peace and quiet being soon interrupted by the sound of the bells going off calling him back out into the city of Chicago.

"Can you tell me what happened?" Casey called out as he ran onto the scene and came to stand beside a frantic young man. "We were stopped at the stop sign and it was my turn to go so I started to go straight and then this jackass just came out of nowhere from the east side and they just rammed into us. M- My wife was in the passenger side and and she, she's p–p-pregnant." Casey's eyes immediately widened at his last words. He also had a pregnant wife and after what happened just last week his eyes fell closed as he took in the man's frantic words.

"Okay sir, we are going to do everything we can to save your wife. Do you know their gender yet?" Casey asked abruptly as he figured if he knew the gender it would help keep the man's wife calm when they tried to get her out. "Yeah, we just found out last week they're a girl." Casey winced slightly as this call just hit a little closer to home for the Captain.

"Squad, you guys stabilize the car and Truck will have the inside covered." The Captain called out to his fellow officer quickly as he knew they needed to get this pregnant woman out of her car, stat. "Okay Tony, Capp get the jaws, we need to get this car secure quickly." Severide called out to his men, giving them their orders for this time sensitive call. "Cruz, you're with me."

"I need a paramedic in here now." Casey called out through his radio after Kidd and Mouch were able to get all the flames out of the car. "Okay I'm going to send Justice in with you, I have another victim to attend to." Brett scrambled out as she told Hilary to go help their Captain, the young blonde who was filling in this shift nodding before running off to help Casey.

"Okay I'm here Captain, what do we got?" "We got a pregnant woman stuck in the passenger side, husband says she's exactly 38 weeks along." Casey answered the blonde paramedic as she maneuvered her way towards him and the young mother to be. "We need to get a C-collar on her then we can check on the baby's situation after that." Casey finished as Hilary gave him a slight nod before applying the C-collar onto the young mother. "What's your name maam?" Hilary asked the woman as she slowly came into consciousness. "I'm Maya." "Alright Maya, you and your husband were in an accident and we're here to help you." "What, where's my husband? Is Roger okay?" "Your husband is okay ma'am, a couple minor scrapes and bruises, but he'll be just fine. Now let's focus on you." "Okay C-collar is on Captain, we can start assessing the baby."

"Oh no." Hilary stuttered out as she came to look back up at Casey. "What's going on?!" Maya cried out as she started to panic slightly. Hilary sat there not saying a word, until Casey's quiet voice filled her ears causing her to look up again. "What is it Justice?" "We can't make it to the hospital, we need to deliver right now."

"What? No no I can't, I can't do it." "It's okay maam, you're going to do just fine." Casey reassured the scared woman as he looked back up to Justice, the woman giving him a slow nod. "Okay Maya, you ready?" Hilary asked, the woman immediately nodding yes just as another contraction hit. "Alright Maya, it's time to push." "Good Maya, you're doing great so far." The woman screamed as she gave one more push. "Okay I see the head." "Keep it up Maya, give us another push. We're almost there." After her next push the paramedic and captain were able to see a shoulder, showing them Maya was so close. "Okay one more big push, Maya. You got this." "There we go." "Congrats, you have a beautiful little girl."

"Wow Casey, you were great back there. Have you ever delivered on a call?" "Yeah, once before this actually." Casey answered the intrigued paramedic as they started to walk towards the inside of the house. "You were a natural, nice work." Hilary answered back as she patted his shoulder and walked off.

"Hey babe!" Casey called out as he entered their apartment and locked it back up, "You here?" "I'm in the bedroom." Casey set the rest of his stuff down before walking off to meet his wife in their bedroom. "Hey, how was work?" Gabby spoke up as she walked out of their bathroom and came to stand in front of her husband. "Good, but I missed you." Gabby gave him a light smile as she leaned in for a quick kiss. "I missed you too, wanna see the Halloween shirt I bought?" "Yeah, show me."

Gabby walked to the closet and pulled the material off the hanger just before turning around to walk back towards her husband. On her way home from work, Gabby went to the store and picked up a Halloween shirt plus bags of candy to give out to trick or treaters. The shirt Gabby decided to buy was a tight black t-shirt with a huge skeleton along the whole front of it with a cute little pink bow, the clothing completely able to hug her little bump. She saw it when she first walked into the store and as soon as she saw the sparkly pink bow, she knew she had to get it to wear when she and Matt passed out candy on their porch. "That's so cute, great find babe." Casey spoke with a smile as he came closer to her, closing the gap between them. "Thank you." Gabby whispered while her head layed on her husband's chest, them both seeking the warmth they so desperately wanted from each other.

"Hey baby, Stella said they were heading over now." Gabby called out to Matt as she pushed herself off the edge of their bed after putting her socks on. "Okay sounds good." Casey replied as he walked further into the kitchen to get out some candy bowls to start pouring out the candy Gabby bought into them. After he finished up his task, he walked outside onto their front porch and set the candy bowls side by side onto the little table.

Gabby was sitting on the couch eating a chocolate bar, her most recent pregnancy craving until she heard a knock on their door, as she could hear that it was Stella and Severide she yelled out for them to come on in. "Hey girl!" Stella called out as she entered her friend's front door and began to take her shoes off. "Hey guys, how's it going?" Gabby spoke with a bright smile as she pulled in Stella for a quick hug, followed by Kelly. "It's going, how are you?" "I'm fine, Casey will be back soon. He just left a few minutes ago to grab the pizza and salad." "He better hurry up, I'm literally starving." Severide breathed out as Stella let out a light scoff. "Kelly, don't be so dramatic you just ate an hour ago, you can't possibly be starving again." Stella spoke with an eye roll. "Can't blame him, I'm hungry every 10 minutes now." "Well you have an excuse, you're pregnant." Stella said light heartedly as she put her hand on her friend's expanding baby bump.

Casey had arrived back about 15 minutes ago and the four of them sat down at the kitchen table to eat before it was time for the trick or treaters to come around. They finished eating and then cleaned up their plates so they could head out to the front porch. The four friends gathered around the front porch so they could enjoy their night passing out candy and being surrounded by good people.

The trick or treaters came and went for a couple hours until the mandatory neighborhood stop time came around. Stella and Severide stayed over and the girls were currently in the living room while Matt and Kelly were in the nursery adding a couple easy fixes. When Severide came over a couple days after Gabby got out of the hospital, they ended up finding a place for all the furniture such as the rocking chair Gabby would use when breastfeeding, a crib for their girl to sleep on when she's ready to be by herself through the night, a night-stand, a couple shelves, etc. Cindy had sent over some pictures they put up in Annabelle's nursery when she was a baby that they ended up keeping in their storage, so Casey took Severide being over as an opportunity to put some of them up since he was able to paint the day after Severide came over.

"So Case, how's Gabby been?" Severide spoke up from his spot near the back wall behind the crib where he was drilling in a couple different pictures and these overhead star lights that Casey had purchased when they had Louie. "She's okay. She has her days where she feels super good and then others where she can't even get out of bed and her stitches are getting itchy so she's on edge because she's in pain you know. Other than that, she's been craving chocolate lately so that's pretty much what she eats for a snack like multiple times per day." Casey spoke with a chuckle, Severide reciprocating the action.

"Get everything you wanted done, babe?" Gabby asked softly as she saw her husband and their friend come into view. "We did." Casey replied with a soft smile as he leaned down to give Gabby a kiss on the forehead before sitting down next to her on the couch. "So it was a pretty great turnout this year, don't you think?" "Yeah, it really was. So many kids were out." Gabby replied, everyone else nodding in agreement.

"So Casey that call was pretty crazy last shift, I can't believe you delivered another baby in your career." Severide spoke up, causing Gabby to look up from her cup of water, Casey wincing slightly as he didn't plan on telling her at all. "What call? Matt, you delivered a baby yesterday?" Gabby replied with an unreadable expression on her face, Matt giving her a hesitant nod as he brought Gabby closer to him. "Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you knew, figured he would tell you." Severide spoke softly, afraid he stepped into something unintentionally. "No, he didn't." Gabby replied back, but her words weren't angry or accusatory. She was just confused, and to be quite honest worried. "Kelly, I think it's time to go, it's been a long night." "Stella gestured to her boyfriend as she could tell her friend was starting to get upset, so she thought it was best to give their friends space to talk about the revelation. "You guys don't have to." Gabby responded quickly while she shook her head lightly. "No, that's okay, we'll get out of your hair."

"Baby?" Gabby spoke up after they sat in silence for far too long. "Why didn't you tell me you delivered a baby last shift? That's so amazing." She spoke with a gleam in her eyes as she began to rub light circles over her husband's back. "I mean, isn't it?" Gabby spoke up again after a moment. "Yeah yeah it was, it's just that-" "It's just what? Baby, you gotta talk to me I'm so confused, this should've been something you were excited to tell me." Gabby said with some fresh tears forming in her eyes, as her husband's demeanor had completely shifted in the last few minutes.

"When we arrived on scene, there was a younger man standing in the grass off the side of the road and when I asked him what had happened he informed us his wife was pregnant, 38 weeks, and she was in the passenger seat, the side that got the brunt of the accident. When I called for a paramedic, Brett sent in her floater and when she was able to assess the mom, Maya was her name, she realized the baby was coming sooner than anticipated and so she told me we had to deliver right there. Also, before we went into the car to get his wife out, the man told us they were having a baby girl and then the call just completely changed for me," Gabby gave her husband a sympathetic look as he continued talking about the call, fresh tears starting to fall down her face, "I just couldn't stop thinking about how just last week we were at the hospital not knowing if you and our daughter would be okay after your little kitchen accident. I don't know what I would've done if I would've lost you."

Gabby's heart broke as she took in her husband's words. "But you didn't, I'm still here. Your daughter and I are okay, Maya and her baby are okay. We're okay. Okay?" Gabby spoke softly as she pulled her husband in for a quick hug, the two separating just before Gabby pulled him in closer as their foreheads gently pressed together, Gabby bringing up her free hand to cup his cheek as she brought her other hand up to her stomach. The couple sitting there in silence as they held onto each other tightly in their living room, time they so desperately needed together.

And there's another one! I really hope you enjoyed this chapter, I was pretty happy with the way it turned out! Just an FYI, next week will already start off with a time jump, but that's all I'm going to say. Have a great week!
