Luna
The day trip to Diagon Alley was eventful, Harry walked into the wrong fireplace and met the Malfoys in a bookshop; father had a fight with the Malfoys.
Mother is in a bad temper now, she's been scolding father all the way. Though Ginny thought what Dad did was pretty impressive. Well, if a dog bites you, you should bite back if you're not a neat freak.
It was somewhat manly about Dad's broken lips, and it was somewhat distinctive that old Malfoy got hit at the eye by a toadstool encyclopedia. After they finally separated, Lucius, holding Ginny's old transfiguration book in his hand, slammed it back at her. His eyes glinting malevolently.
"Here, girl-take your book-it's the best your father can give you-"
Sir, you are wrong, the best thing dad gave me was my sister, it would be great if I could give her to you.
Old Malfoy pushed Harry aside and stormed out of the bookshop. Poor Dad had to stay and face Mum.
Looks like it's a bad day to go out. Ginny asked her mother for some money and decided to visit the wand shop herself, then join the others in the pub.
As soon as she went out, she saw Aquamarine standing quietly in the doorway.
"Did you see it all?" Ginny was surprised that she could look on so calmly.
"What if I did? Are you expecting me to help Dad in this fight?"
"Enjoyed it?"
"I thought you were going to buy a wand?" Aquamarine gently pushed her away and went into the shop. "I'll go and help Dad."
Ginny watched the sparks streak through her blue eyes. Then she ran to Ollivanders.
Ginny read a kind of girlish feeling from the hand that pushed her away as if Aquamarine has started to be interested in someone, or at least liking someone of the opposite sex. It was so frightening that Ginny swore to forget it.
Ollivanders wand shop was silent, the sunlight came in through the glass is tawny, giving the illusion that time has stopped. The amiable old gentleman standing at the counter opposite gave Ginny a feeling that he could make you forget all the unpleasant things.
"This is the first time I've seen such a not picky buyer."
Every wand Ginny had tried was in a state of both slightly fitting and slightly not fitting. All the wand interacted with her in a careless way, as though it didn't matter which one she bought.
"Then I'll just buy one at random."
"No, Ollivander doesn't sell wands that aren't perfectly suitable for the wizard! Stay right there!" The old gentleman turned to go into the cellar, his determination surprised Ginny.
He's not going to get me some fancy elfish stuff, is he?
Ginny reached out to feel the other wands on the shelves, and a misty voice made her draw back her hand.
"You have a really high synchrony rate."
Ginny saw behind her a pale little girl about her own age, her hair the colour of moonlight, her dress so white that she was barely visible against the wall. She was wearing a pair of carrot earrings, and she has a pair of protuberent eyes, big, round, slightly bulging, with a sleepwalking expression and a semi-conscious voice.
"What is the synchrony rate?"
"It's how well you fit with the artificial things, and we're talking mainly about how well you fit with the wand."
Ginny couldn't understand any of what she said.
"I have been following you. I saw a Misfortune Cloud above you, it is a kind of black gas." She said, putting her hand over Ginny's head and started sweeping. "It's a big one."
Ginny looked up and saw nothing.
"Oh okay... My name's Ginny Weasley, what's yours?"
"Luna, Luna Lovegood."
"Glad to meet you."
"You'll be glad to meet it," said Mr. Ollivander before Luna could answer. "You make a good match. Neither of you is fussy."
He passed her a new wand. Black, Cylindrical, and straight.
"Very plain. I think it suits you."
I'll take it as a compliment. Ginny thought.
"This wand has been here for years because people don't like its easy-going nature, you know, anyone can use it, and it doesn't pick its owner. It would seem to be lack of... What's the word for you young people... personality?" The old gentleman put the wand into Ginny's hand. "I think you'll get along fine."
"I think it likes you." Luna touched Ginny's wand. "Are you happy?"
"Er... " Ginny said, "yeah... "
I am not destined to own fancy wands, Ginny sighed.
"Do you have any special wands here? Will you show it to me?" She wanted at least one more glimpse of a wand made by an elf before she leaves.
"Each wand is special."
"I want to see the kind made by elves."
Mr. Ollivander smiled as though he had heard a good joke and was out of breath.
"Elves don't use wands at all, son. They don't even touch them."
"Maybe they make money by making wands?"
Mr. Ollivander stopped smiling a little.
"They don't make money, and they don't make wands. The wand is human stuff. They think it is dirty and opportunistic."
"But you just gave one out."
"The elves don't make money, kid, but Mr. Ollivander does."
Ginny, with a little embarrassment, paid the money, took her wand away, and passed Luna, who smiled and said:
"You are a very interesting person."
"Thank you." Ginny could tell luna was complimenting her.
Ginny heard Luna say as she closed the door behind her:
"Can you show me the most bent wand please?"
Happy New Year everyone! I'll see you next year~
