Wednesday Effect
There wasn't much time for Ginny and Harry to keep talking, they had to go to their own classes. If there is no proof that you have completely lost the ability to be able to take care of yourself, no one would dare to skip the next two classes - Potions. This lesson is with Slytherin, including Aquamarine.
Professor Snape, who has a long history with Aquamarine, is the teacher of this class and has the name of "Hogwarts' Dracula". Only those with strong psychological qualities who can tolerate cold and rigid words can survive on Wednesday, otherwise, you would have to fix your tattered heart with glue after class.
Ginny's Wednesday phobia is relatively mild, and she is very experienced in dealing with people with a similar personality as Professor Snape. The tactic in facing this kind of people is just simply agree with whatever they say and nod obediently.
This is easy to say, but difficult to do. Ginny was very resistant because she has been tried and tested by her sister.
From the beginning of the school year till now, Ginny has found that Wednesdays are either not very pleasant for Professor Snape, or they're too pleasant that he seemed to be a little out of his normal state.
During classes with Ravenclaw on Friday, the professor's face never showed any expression just like only not better than Professor Binns, which would be a very useful skill in spying, Ginny thought. This expression would make a baby scared enough to stop crying.
During classes on Wednesday, things were different. Gryffindor sat on the left, Slytherin sat on the right, and Ginny was in the middle area. She would see that the professor looked serious and indifferent when he looked at the left and became calm when he turned to the right, and when he turned to his sister, the expression would turn into a gentle and imperceptible smile, kinda like a puppet smile. Ginny had to admit that the total process of observing this change was torture.
Ginny was even more curious that since many people have noticed the change in his expression on Wednesday, some bold girls even considered drafting a letter asking the professor to keep the usual cold style as much as possible and not to play abnormally on Wednesday, did the professor notice his own change? If he noticed it, would he be in pain or enjoy it?
In fact, despite his terrifying Wednesday Effect, the professor's popularity in Gryffindor wasn't bad because he was very, especially, particularly bitter, such a special teacher always receives more attention; but everyone tacitly agreed on not saying anything about him in daily life, which was another useful tactic facing this kind of people.
Professor, if you like being bitter then just be it, we'll take that as a compliment; if you like taking points off then just do it, we have lots of them~
Ginny hadn't thought about it so much. She mainly found Snape's words very interesting and thought Snape was really good at sarcasm and irony. Usually, every time she heard a sentence that she thought was good, she would write it in her diary and force Riddle to comment it together.
Today, Professor seems to be unhappy, or too happy, and there are a lot of harsh words. Pointing around, with witty words despising everyone in Gryffindor.
Students like Ginny who's attention were never on the class had to interrupt their thoughts from time to time to listen to how the professor manages to amaze everyone with this special skill again.
"I can't figure it out. There are only like 100 dumbest people in England. How come half of them are in this school and gathered in this class?"
This was very impressive, Ginny admired it privately. The rhetoric used exaggeration as the language technique, and the perspective is novel. Starting from the nation and ending in the class, which also implies that this class is completely beyond redemption…
Ginny withdrew her thoughts again and continued to talk to Riddle in the class. Riddle kept ignoring her.
Tom! You there? Just tell me, do you know anything about the Chamber of Secret? The first incident happened 50 years ago. Weren't you also a student at that time? I saw your trophy. Tell me, why are you ignoring me? Tom, say something! If you don't speak…
Ginny had no chance to tell Riddle what would happen if he doesn't speak. She relaxed her vigilance; she forgot to pretend that she was working hard on the Potions experiment, nor did she pay attention to the surrounding movement. The professor who came from behind caught her.
"Do you know what's called a disaster? The natural disaster is that you were born without much talent, and the man made disaster is that you never work hard."
The diary was confiscated and five points were taken off.
Ginny was upset. Tom! You bastard! This is all your fault!
After class, Ginny stayed in the classroom, thinking about how to get the diary back. That's the key to success, she didn't want to face Luna with the diary gone.
She prepared a speech that was shameless enough: I was wrong, I'm so so sorry, I should have paid attention in class. But this diary is the only relic left to me by my grandmother who is far away in heaven. I keep it with me all the time to cherish the memory of her. Today I was just especially sad and… please! I didn't write anything! If you don't believe me, take a look at it, I didn't write anything! Professor, would you return my beloved grandma to me? Otherwise, she will know about her granddaughter is unorganized and undisciplined, and I really don't wanna let her down! Forgive me, for the sake of the elderly!
Tom should have absorbed those words… right?
In order to have a dramatic effect, Ginny found some onions from the laboratory, squeezed out the juice, and applied it to her hands. Ginny planned to shed a few tears when talking about her grandma. The effect should be good.
Ginny set her mood in place, knocked on the office door, said what she had prepared emotionally, and wiped her eyes with onion juice at the right time.
"Forgive me!" She finished the performance in a tone of remorse.
"Alright."
Ginny didn't expect that he would answer so quickly, so she happily waited for him to return the diary. Unexpectedly, Snape turned back to read the book he was reading and ignored her.
Ginny was stunned in place.
"Professor… ?"
"You can go now."
"My Grandma's diary… "
"I'll give it back if you got a full score on the finals."
Snape is the one with the strongest petrification ability! Ginny walked out of the office angrily. Give me my dignity!
As soon as she went up the stairs, Ginny saw the oncoming sister. She seemed to be going to the basement. Ginny suddenly got a bad feeling. The diary would never be returned. Snape would give it to kiwi.
"Hi~ " Ginny stepped forward to say hello and cautiously tested her. She took her sister's hand, hoping to get some information, but saw nothing.
"What are you doing?" Aquamarine pulled her hand back.
"I wanted to talk to Professor Snape. Can you do something for me? Can you ask him if he can return my diary? You're his favourite student, he would definitely agree to do that." Ginny tried a different way.
"I can't." Aquamarine changed her diligence of the previous few days and replaced it with a Snape-like expression.
"Don't be so heartless~ you suggested that I write a diary."
"Did I ask you to write in class? Go do whatever you should be doing now." Aquamarine left without looking back.
Ginny was full of anger but couldn't do anything.
Alright! Fine! Sooner or later you will be Hogwarts' Dracula the Second!
