Disclaimer : I do not own the characters or the story of Naruto.

A/N : This fic will be a collection of very short snippets (a few hundred words) of the magical delight that is SasuHina for SH month 2022 based on the prompts released for everyday of August. Canonverse, canon divergent, modern AU, RTN!verse and more, every chapter will be a different setting of SH, different background, different ending. Romance, drama, angst, tragedy, humor and all other genres of intrigue will feature at some point. Some chapters will have contexts to avoid confusion. I am hoping to have each chapter published a day before(fingers crossed).

Important : My thanks to the SHM 2022 team for the fantastic prompts this year. Since a lot of them are foreign words to me, the stories will be based on my understanding of them, no offense intended. This year's theme is 'Love in Translation' so each story will have some play with words.

Context : Spirit world

Day 1

Aienkien : A mysterious attraction that unites two people

She was sitting by the lake of tears, her knees drawn up to her chest, both hands wrapped around herself, looking forlorn and lonesome. He felt the tug of their bond in his being by the red string of fate binding them together and he couldn't help but go to her.

She felt the same tug as him as well, and raised her head, giving him her pearlescent eyes. Even in her melancholy, she was beautiful, she always was and always will be to him. She got up when he was close, giving him her graceful smile that didn't hide her grief.

"You came..", she said with warmth in her gentle voice. "I wouldn't leave without a goodbye", he replied honestly.

Her smile broadened as the light surrounding her got a bit brighter, enveloping the dark emptiness around him that hungrily devoured every bit of her brilliance that reached him.

His soul fed off her shine, as they were inextricably linked till the end of time. He would cease to exist without her luminescence and she would ignite to dust in her own brightness if his void wouldn't consume it.

"What's wrong?", he enquired, holding a hand out for her touch. She held onto it and both felt the surge, the union of their duality synergizing their spirits. But she turned her eyes away from his own.

"I.. I don't..", she tried to express herself but he could feel the heaviness in her through their linked fates.

He caught her chin with his fingers, turning her face towards him and waited till she gazed at him again. "You're worried about me", he said what she couldn't, as she gave him a tiny nod.

Their future had been decided already, they were to be born into the mortal world, destined to die and continue the torturous cycle of birth till they were deemed worthy of liberation. It was a cruel punishment, but one they couldn't escape.

"Whatever happens, you'll always be my light", he told her what he truly believed. She looked at him with hope in her tear-filled eyes, the love she had for him shining through as he felt the warmth of it stirring within his being.

But then she faltered, "What if.. I never see you again?", she asked in a whisper, her voice quivering. He watched the evanescent tear slip from her eye, evaporating in sparkles in the ether.

"Then I'll find you, Hime. No matter the world, no matter the time, no matter the life, I'll always find you. I have to, you belong with me", he said with conviction. It was the truth, the highest truth of his essence, one that even temporal reality couldn't alter and it will remain so as epochs pass them by.

He felt the mysterious force, pulling them apart, getting stronger with each passing moment, the time for them to part was closing in. He tightened his grasp on her hand, wanting to savor the magic of their connection for the last time.

"You promise?", she asked him, smiling at him again, her light shining brilliantly bright filling the murky shadows within him. "I do", he vowed, determined to brand this certainty in his spirit, carrying it with him in every life he would have to lead.

At once, the pressure repelling their beings became unbearably strong as they were flung apart, joined only at their clasped hands. Their forms sublimating into nothingness as they gazed into each other till the last thing left was the invisible thread of destiny that bound them together, forever in love.

A/N : Each chapter will generally not be related to others, except this Ch 1 which sets the stage. The purpose of publishing a day early is so that people from around the world could read without any wait. For readers, if you have suggestions, please leave them in the reviews. Hope you enjoy and thanks!
