Blackie
Ginny had been up all night, crouched in the attic spying on the downstairs through a small hole dug by Ghogho. Her sister slept peacefully, looking as harmless as a roll of toilet paper, and seemed unlikely to go down to the basement.
"Not too bad, pretty much dodged it." She let out a long sigh, only then remembering the two Luffy's still in the attic, and hurried to get the cans out of the kitchen and made a big feast for them.
"Thanks for your help, guys, a lot of hard work."
"Woof!"
Luffy said no problem, Ghogho helped with the translation.
"Woof woof woof woof woof~~~ woof woof woof woof woof woof~~~ woof woof woof woof."
"Ghogho, what did he say this time?"
Shall I translate the words that despise your intelligence?
"No thanks... "
Then he said nothing.
After a good meal, with the help of Ghogho, Luffy talked about the real purpose of the trip.
He and his new friend had only met a week before but felt like they know each other for a long time at first sight. Talking about the story of his friend's life, Luffy sighed.
Have you seen the movie "Lassie"?
Ginny shook her head, clearly not having been taught much about this area.
It's a classic movie about a rough collie called Lassie who has been with a little boy since he was born, and they are each other's most important friends. Soon the war began, and the little boy is sent to the countryside and Lassie to the West. With a longing for friend, Lassie escapes the gold rush and heads east down the Mississippi River, overcoming the hardships and obstacles along the way to finally find his long-lost friend. It was so touching~~~ Luffy lifted a paw to wipe the tears from the corner of his eyes. But Lassie is nothing compared to this friend of ours, who came all the way across the ocean and swam an entire strait! Just to find his best friend's son who he lost years ago~~~! That's so touching! So responsible! I met him almost a week ago when he was starving on the side of the road, I had just re-watched the classic film then and I was particularly excited to hear his story and I assured him that you would help him.
"What should I do?"
Take us to London!
"It shouldn't be too hard." Ginny nodded, "Only need some Floo powder."
We'll have to do it another way. Luffy said. If a dog as valuable as him was lost, his owner would be looking everywhere, and he would be found as soon as he took the Floo network.
Ginny couldn't figure out what was so valuable about Luffy II, so she thought then said, "You don't want me to take you on a long ride, do you?"
That was the plan.
"What about the money for the bus?"
You'll pay for us!
Luffy's categorical assertion scared Ginny out of her wits. He was here to rob me today.
"Why should I pay for it? Even landlords don't have food left over, not to mention that I'm a poor rural girl."
You can't let a dog pay, can you? I can smell that you have some money. I'm sure you'll be able to pay for the three of us.
"Wait a minute, why do you have to go too?"
Hmm. I heard about a new film recently. Called Quill.
Ginny inwardly blamed herself for making bad friends and meeting the wrong dog, finally being bankrupted by her friend in these times of tumbling financial waves. She knew Luffy's personality well enough that if she didn't help him, she wouldn't be able to find any shoes when she wants to go out in the future.
"Alright." She gave in, "But give me a few days. I need to save up some more money and find an excuse to deal with Mum and Dad."
Deal. Luffy was satisfied.
They leaned back in the little loft and waited quietly for dawn. Ginny surveyed the wordless Luffy II, who was stoic, sitting motionless on one side and looking away through the window.
"What's wrong with him?" Ginny asked Luffy quietly.
"He's looking out over his homeland to the north."
"That's west."
"... " Luffy was silent for a moment "Don't tell him, he hates it when people say he has no sense of direction."
Ginny finally understood why he couldn't walk to London on his own when he could swim across the strait.
"What's your name?" She tried talking directly to Luffy II.
Luffy II hesitated for some time and opened up to Ginny for the first time.
He has a very traditional name - Blackie.
