Steal a Ride
At four o'clock in the morning, Luffy, who was sleeping in a cardboard box under the bridge hole, was forcibly dragged out.
"Wake up! We're going to London!"
Luffy looked at Ginny, who was carrying a huge travel bag and standing in front of him, sucked back a drop of saliva that was dripping happily.
"C'mon! We're leaving!"
She dragged two sleepy-eyed dogs in front of her, took out a map, and studied it carefully.
"Currently we are in Reading, and the map shows that it is not far from London. Reading is very close to the Thames. I guess that the nearby river may be a tributary of the Thames. We only need to walk along with it and throw our shoes to decide when we encounter a fork. If you are lucky, there may be a boat willing to take us on a trip, and you will be able to reach London by tonight at the latest."
After hearing this inference, the two dogs had a premonition that they would embark on a journey with no return, and they argued.
"Whatever you're talking about, I can't understand, so let's go." Ginny used a strong reason to force Luffy and Blackie to obey her decision and head east along the "suspected to be the Thames" together.
Most of the summer work is presided over by sunlight, therefore the sun has to work day and night. Before it was five o'clock, the sky was already half bright, and Ginny's enthusiasm slowly faded with the stars in the sky. The initial excitement was followed by accumulated exhaustion. She remembered that she hadn't slept a full sleep for two days and nights, and her body began to revolt. As a last resort, the two dogs pushed hard against her legs.
"Luffy, Blackie, you go to London, let me die here… "
Ginny found her voice drowned in noisy music, turned her head abruptly, was hit by a bright light with a right uppercut, almost flashing her eyes blind.
"Shooting a high beam headlight right at my face!"
She blocked her eyes and waited for the Galactic system in them to disperse, and saw a three-layered purple bus appearing in the faint morning mist between her fingers. "Knight Bus" is written in gold on the windshield.
"It's a kid?! You were doing magic outside the school?" A young man in a purple uniform jumped out of the car. Ginny remembered that she had taken this kind of bus with her father when she was young. "Stretch a wand with light, the knight is by your side" is their advertising slogan.
"I didn't." Ginny pointed to the backpack behind her, her wand sticking high on it.
"That's weird, there's no one else here." The purple uniform looked around. Reading's terrain was low and flat, and his vision was reaching wide. There was no one else except Ginny.
"Well, do you want to get on the bus… ?"
The conductor was interrupted by an exclamation, and he ran to the back of the bus in a panic. "Damn it! It sucked someone in again!" Halfway through, he stretched his head out of a window and shouted to Ginny, "If you wanna come, find a seat yourself! I'm kinda busy now!"
When he pulled back, he hit the back of his head hard on the window frame.
That must be painful! Ginny thought and jumped onto the bus.
There were few guests in the car, and the third floor was completely empty. They chose a bunk near the window, and Ginny slumped softly on it. The bus started, and the scenery on both sides was left far behind. At first, the speed was like a wild horse, and then like an angry bull! Ginny and others were thrown around against the bus like tennis balls.
The bus is drifting! She screamed silently.
"Luffy, Blackie, I have a very serious question to discuss with you." Ginny grabbed a sheet and tied the three of them tightly to the leg of the bed. "To tell you the truth, I only have twelve Sickles on me. However, paying for all three of us is far from enough. You see, this driver is driving this wildly… if we let him know that we can't afford the ride… hahaha… We are gonna die."
The floor was bumping, Luffy and Blackiei were silent.
"Captain~~~!" Ginny shouted downstairs.
"Wait a minute! I'm struggling!"
"When are we gonna arrive in London?"
"Eh… I'll call you when I get here~~~!"
Ginny thought about it for a moment, then climbed onto the bed tremblingly, and asked Luffy to keep track of the captain's movements. "Wake me up immediately when you see him coming up, I'm too tired, I'm taking a rest."
Her consciousness swam into the dream and soon came to the depths of the chaos.
Luffy dutifully squatted at the top of the stairs on the first floor, watching the driver who was in a mess at the rear of the car.
It took a long time to straighten up, and there was no strength to collect the tickets, and even forgotten Ginny, the new passenger.
Until four o'clock in the afternoon, the last passenger also walked out of the bus door with luggage, Luffy heard the driver say to the conductor:
"We'll go to London first, and then change shifts."
London is coming!
Luffy rushed back upstairs, patted Ginny with her paw. The latter bounced up as soon as she opened her eyes, put her luggage on her back, and opened the skylight.
"You two, get on!" Ginny was standing under the skylight, her hands crossed in front of her abdomen, "Jump up, I will lift you guys up!"
Blackie was very responsive. Hearing this, he strode forward, using Ginny's palm as a pedal, and boarded the bus roof. Then together with Luffy who followed immediately, he pulled Ginny up. The knight bus was running on the mountain road, unscrupulously, rushing, and all obstacles gave way to it. The gust of wind whizzed past Ginny's ears, tearing her hair and cheeks, blowing her voice away.
"Wait for the stop~~~ We'll jump down from the back of the bus before they notice~~~ And run as fast as we can~~~ You understand~~~? "
Luffy and Blackie were gripping the roof of the car with their paws, leaving scratches. They did not answer.
Ginny sat beside them, laughing at the embarrassment of the two dogs. "Why are you so nervous? Just relax like me and enjoy the feeling of flying~~~ "
In her nearly twelve years of life, she has never spoken reliably. Only this time! Unfortunately, this time she got what she said!
While talking and laughing, the knight bus made a drift at a sharply acute angle. With the help of inertia, Ginny flew straight out, where she was scheduled to land, into a big river with wide waves.
"Huh? Luffy, how did you turn that way?"
As a result, Ginny really went down the river according to the original plan.
